Kveta i seemt obe living at the rosie too! Feel quite lucky as its a great hospital. Are you doing the trial where you get the extra scans at 28 and 36 weeks?

ceej warlin milly hobnobs your movements sound a lot like mine. Not sure if it is or isn't baby yet and completely sporadic! Wish i coudl be certain as it would be very reassuring but can't quite trust it not to just be digestion yet. I'm chatting to the baby anyway in the hopes. With DH away actually find i'm chatting to it quite a lot. Its starting to feel a bit more real.

Dalrymps i love the name! :) Judeis really lovely, and a big fan of harrison at the moment. My DH's surname is Ord so I wanted to call a boy Harrison Frederic Ord so he would be Harrison F-Ord. For some reason i think its really funny. DH not at all convinced. Baby is currently known as Claude or Maud.... 2 names we cannot choose due to the Ord name.

Does anyone else get 'hungry' days. On the whole my appetite seems pretty normal and I've only gained 2 lbs so far, i just have to have fruit snacks mid morning and afternoon to avoid sickness. But every few weeks I have a couple of 'hungry' days (yesterday/today) where i eat literally everything in sight none stop. I am completely insatiable! I have even been raiding colleagues desks for food...

Dalrymps · 19/01/2012 13:51

Love Thomas William and EmilieSmile We seriously considered Theo too..

Kayzr · 19/01/2012 13:54

We've been calling the bump Rosalie since we got told we had 80% chance of a girl. I'm really hoping that on the 6th they can tell me too so then I will be pretty certain it's a girl.

Florin · 19/01/2012 14:30

We picked our name when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. He is called Jasper. We love it, still got to decide on his second names though. Just ordered a little body suit as a surprise for dh. You can personalise them so it says future Dragon (the type of boat we sail) helm. He is going to think its very cute. Going to give it to him while we are away if it arrives in time. If anyone interested site I used was www.simplycolors.co.uk I spoke to them on the phone to and they seemed nice so just fingers crossed it arrives in time now.

Warlin · 19/01/2012 15:08

Loving the name talk!!

Kveta Emilie or Ellie were our girls names! Very cute. I know a couple of Jude's too and Kayzr Rosalie is cute, hope you get to use it :)

Florin Jasper is cute as well. There were loads of boys names I loved but everyone I suggested DH knew someone he didn't like called that!! We agreed on Tom early on. William is DH's dad's name. He isn't close to his dad but I love the name so we're calling him that anyway...! He will think it's after him but it's not really :)

I like Theo too...

itchy your Harrison F Ord name made me laugh!! I went to school with a girl called Lily Lilly.....she did marry quite young and I can see why!!!

thedogwalker · 19/01/2012 15:12

Hi all, love the names that are coming out. My DS is Thomas, so obviously love that one. DH and I not yet dicussed names, and we won't until we know the flavour, then it will be serious head on time, and lots of letter writing, between DH and I to decide the name. DH can only ring for 20 minutes a week and that might not be enough time to discuss names over and over again. so old fashioned discussion my post will be the order of the day, or by email Wink.
hope everyone is well xx

Kayzr · 19/01/2012 16:00

Florin Jasper was one of the few boys names we had agreed on. The baby was going to be Isaac Henry if it was a boy. I absolutely love it so I am hoping to persuade DP that 4 children will be lovely so I can use it Grin

DP's Dad is called Bernard and I was so tempted to call a boy that as I love Bernie as a nickname but DP couldn't stop laughing to take me seriously.

SpecialJK · 19/01/2012 16:40

TDW is your DH in the forces by any chance? Mine is Smile I know that 20 min call

had a terrible nights sleep, shooting stabbing pains on right hand side all night, didn't sleep a wink for worry. Luckily it's stopped this morning, I think I may have just overdone it at pilates last night fingers xd

Kayzr · 19/01/2012 16:49

Can I just run my birth ideas past you so I can get some opinions please?

DP is due home the day after I am due. We always knew there was a chance that he would be away and its a bit sad but we're fine with it. DS1 was 2 days late and DS2 was born on his due date. So if they are following a pattern this one will be 2 days early Grin

I would really like this one at home, I had DS2 at home and it was brilliant. But I am thinking that there will be the 2 boys at home. Hopefully in bed asleep or DS1 will at school and its just DS2 to worry about. I am not sure about birth partners yet. Probably be my Mum or my best friend. It does feel a bit weird thinking it will be one of them.

The other option is the new midwife led unit nearby. I say nearby but its about 30 minutes away. An hour at rush hour. I am tempted as I don't think I will be worrying about the boys as they will be with their Dad or my dad etc Also they have birth pools and I would love to have a water birth. They say that they aim to get people home between 2-6 hours after birth which would be lovely. But there is the problem that it is at the hospital where I had DS1 and I have said that unless I was about to die I never wanted to set foot in there again as a patient. But I suppose it isn't the same ward. Its next to it but its not the same IYSWIM

If I knew DP would definetly be at home there is no way I would even be considering going to the MLU and I would be having this one at home. But there is no guarentee that he will be here. But its that thought the boys will be here and I will be worrying about them. DS1's best friends Mum has said that if I need her even in the middle of the night then I can just ring her.

So what on earth do I do??

itchyfootedlady · 19/01/2012 16:59

Kayzr Isaac is the only boys name DH and i have agreed on. I love it... DH likes it because baby would be named for Isaac newton. big geek. Bernie just makes me think of the bernie inn i'm afraid!
Girls names here are currently India or Ailsa/Elsa. maybe. posssibly. oh god knows!

as for birth plan... i have no real idea as have never done it before... but seems like in your ideal world you would have the baby at home. So i would recommend trying to ensure that all your worries related to that for your two DC's are covered and that way you are as close to ideal as possible. Plus if DP is back it would be perfect. And also an hour travel seems like it might be hell with contractions from what i've heard. Could your dad/their dad have them anyway for your home birth? I think you can hire a water pool for a home birth too?

special i had the stabbing pains on the right hand side just before bump grew bigger... apparently its just stretching. hot water bottle helps.

Rhibutterfly lovvie - you have pasted an old version of the list again.... Could you please get your message deleted so we don't have lots of confusion?

The last paste of the list by Warlin yesterday looks right to me.

Boris just to let you know, you have been in my thoughts and prayers all day. Hope you are doing ok.

Kayzr Congrats on setting the date again for your wedding. All the best people get married in April. Grin Hope you will keep us posted. Do love a wedding. Re your birth plan dilemma, I would say that your main priority is to have the birth you want, as you?ll find the lead up to it, esp while your DP is away, easier. Depends on whether you feel you can really rely on DS1?s best friends Mum to help you with your boys. Also, is it ok for your Mum/sis to take your boys to your Dad?s? If yes to those then defo home birth. Otherwise, MLU sounds ok with birth pool. I want one of those but not sure if allowed. Itchy's ideas good too.
TeaandHobnobs see I?m not the only one suffering cat induced sleep deprivation. Mine gets under the covers and then takes up most of the bed. And figgets. But, as I?ve had a v v v v v spotty botty, which I am smothering in tea-tree oil, he?s not being such a bother as he doesn?t like the smell!!
Kveta are you going to be ?New Thread Monitor? then??!! Think your suggestion for the name sounds good, so long as you start it with ?June 2012?.? Reckon we'll need a new thread in a few days.
Dalry, Florin and Warlin congrats on the scan. Lots of little boys. Grin
Ecstatica my scan is on 1st of Feb, so just after yours.
Mini sorry to hear the pukeyness is back. Was it just a one off?
Itchy wow, that was lovely of the people at the hospital. Are you and your ?meaty cervix? recovering ok? I was equally flattered to be told I had a ?fleshy? uterus lining?!!

Am feeling for you SPD/PGP sufferers.

Free dental people? Where do you live? I phoned round local dentists and all that is free is check-ups and amalgam fillings. Not even an appt with the hygienist is free. Grrrr. Must get on and book some kind of ante-natal class. Like the sound of hypnobirthing. Have a friend working as mat asst and she says it really makes a difference to the birth. Thanks for the link Dalry.
I am waiting for it to warm up a bit so I can use the Dream Genii which DH gave me for Xmas. At the mo we have two duvets plus kitty to think of, so it?s going to get a bit of a tangle with the DG. Loving the baby name chat and envious of those of you who have agreed on them. Lots of cute names bouncing around. List of names DH and I agree on will be v short! We talk about it a bit, but I'm not going to push it until nearer the time!!

Hugs to all. xx

HorseyGirl1 · 20/01/2012 04:48

Thinking of you Boris. Pregnancy will happen again for you - it won't ever replace but it will be a new life to love in a new way. Don't give up. xx

MammaInTheMaking · 20/01/2012 10:42

Hi Ladies,
Just popping by to say that my scan yesterday was perfect. Baby was moving about loads (infact its legs looked like it was doing the River Dance...). All measurements were great and it looked as good as it could do.
No more scary bleeding thank goodness.
DP thinks it's a boy, i think girl. Neither of us care at all.
Feel quite overwhelmed at how much we love this little thing already....
Thanks for your words of support on Weds. It really kept my nerves on a level so i didn't freak out too badly. Just need to keep the positive thoughts going :)
xx

10000fireflies · 20/01/2012 10:53

Yay Mama. That's excellent news. Congratulations!!

thedogwalker · 20/01/2012 11:40

Hi all, just done a large post and its all gone, where I have no idea.
Special Hope your stabbing pains have subsided. DH and I are both in the Forces, thankfully I'm nearing the end so I won't have to tour again [sigh of relief]
Kayzr I'm pants at giving advice, but I would do what I was most comfortable with and plan everything around that, so if I was you it would be homebirth as that seems to be what your heart is set on and I would organise child care around that Smile.
Mama That is wonderful scan new, so happy for you.
Hope everyone is well and having a good Friday, take care xx

justwantcheese · 20/01/2012 12:12

just being nosey but wondered what weight gain people have had? i'm 21 weeks due june 6th and have put on 18 pounds...

AmethystMoon · 20/01/2012 12:47

Good thread justwantcheese, I've no idea how 'normal' or otherwise my weight gain is, what with it being my first. I was a healthy BMI of 24 to start with, and have put on 7lbs, I am due 23rd June...anyone got any idea if this is too much/too little? I've got a very wobbly tummy, which I keep telling myself is a baby bump but it seems very wobbly to be a bump, which I always assumed would be hard and not like jelly!

AmethystMoon · 20/01/2012 12:49

Congrats on scan Mana :)

And as for those of you talking about birth plans, I've no idea! Confused when do I need to sort this out by?

AmethystMoon · 20/01/2012 12:49

oops meant Mama sorry my typing is pants! Blush

Dalrymps · 20/01/2012 13:27

Afternoon ladiesSmile

Wonderful news on your scan mamaGrin

Weight gain, hmm I'm not really sure how much I've gained. I did lose some due to sickness. I think I've gained about 6lb which is about right for me as I never usually gain much when pg. dot ask me why cause I'm a total pig when it comes to foodGrin

Re birth plan: I don't tend to write complicated plans. I am open minded about pain relief. The last two times I was induced so may be the case again. I usually write something like 'I want to be able to stay mobile as much as poss, I'd like to be able to last as long as possible on gas and air, I'll be using hypnotherapy techniques so may be quiet as I concentrate - not too many questions. If I decide the pain is too bad I would be open to pethedine (if it's not too late) and or epidural. I'd prefer to avoid an epidural if possible. I intend to breastfeed and would like skin to skin with baby asap after he's born.'

The whole pethedine/epidural thing is a bit pointless for me really as I seem to have very quick labours and by the time I ask for extra pain relief I am usually too far alongAngry I'll still write it though in case this labour takes me by surprise and ends up taking longer. I spent all most of my last labour on my birth ball and found it comfortable. I had to be monitored constantly but the wires reached so I could sit on it next to the bed. I feel the position I was sitting in on the ball really helped open my pelvis and speed things alongSmile By the time I felt the pain was getting too much (and asked for the epidural) they got me to lie on the bed to check my progress and I was 7cm, literally a few minutes later I was fully displayed and ready to push Shock so in other words, too late for the epi..

emblosion · 20/01/2012 13:45

Congrats on scan mama

I'm 18 weeks and have put on about 9lbs I think, but am sure it'll be more when I next get weighed! X
