The baby is still very awkward. Still utterly refused to be helpful and still have just 80% chance of a girl.
I'm a bit worried about the 20 week scan that they won't get the measurements they need as this baby is a pain.

Wow, that's quite a list we have now, something like 65, but only 30 regular-ish posters. Hope all lurkers are doing ok? Maybe you could let us know how you are doing and update the list if it's changed since your 12 week scan?

Is all go here...I have started knitting a little cream cardigan!!

Warlin great news about you having a boy. Congratulaions. My friends have had boys recently and they are such fun.

Millyv your mw should be fired. MWs are supposed to reassuring in what is a very imp time for us rather than being rude. I am annoyed on your behalf.

Hels good to know that your gout is getting better. Going back to work is a good idea. Your baby will be just fine, I haven't felt solid movements yet either. I get some flutters but don't know whether it's the baby.

Ceeej How was the commute to central London? How did the test go? I hope your thesis gets written to a standard that will put your supervisor to shame.

fireflies How was OBEM and how to be a good mother?

My pregnancy yoga class was really good and I would recommend it to all. I met a very nice bunch of local pregnant women as well.

Ceeej let us know how the test went. I have a glucose test at 26 weeks and am dreading the 12 hours fasting!

Fire and Mini i really enjoyed OBEM this week. Initially the fashion couple really made me giggle but when I saw how incredible the mum was in that birthing pool I really fell for them. It's made me think that being super drugged up to the eyeballs (what i've been imagining i'll be asking for) doesn't have to be the way. Am really coming round to the idea of a water birth as long as LO isn't the size of a rugby player...

I've been lurking this week as work has been manic. Really lovely to read everyones news though and would comment on it all if i had time. special thoughts to hells with the gout, mini with the sickness and warlin its a boy!!!!

I've also been very reassured to hear from all those who are just feeling podgy with no movements yet. Woke up this morning having dreamt that I was in labour ward and they had to tell me there was no baby there, I had imagined it. Was in a real panic when i woke up... the odd kick from LO would make me feel much better, but however much DH and I ask, it stays resolutley invisible :(

Had to see GP this week. Decided no poo in 10 days despite eating veggies, drinking gallons od water and chuggin lactulose and walking everywhere was getting ridiculous. He gave me Laxido which is not recommended in pregnancy but all the others had failed. 12 hours later and all good! Sadly my 'bump' has now also disappeared :) Now a lot more comfortable but paranoid I have damaged the wee one Also discovered i have not put on any weight at all yet this pregnancy... anyone else similar? I lost some with the vomiting all the time but haven't got back to above pre preg weight yet. Wish I could chat to midwife but the surgery was busy so my 16 week appt is at 19 weeks... in 2.5 weeks time. I am sounding very moany here, sorry guys. Am actually feeling great now compared to a few weeks ago. Lots of energy and until this mornings dream was pretty positive too! tried preggy yoga. Was very hippy but i loved it :) Not sure DH will follow our teachers advice and get down on all fours with me during labour to make noises though!

Morning all

It's Friday...yipppppeeee! The first week back at work has been torture.

ceej well done on the phd. You should be really proud to get that finished, given the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are such a nightmare :) Reckon your supervisor is jealous. Our CEO finally said congrats to me the other day so am feeling less paranoid that he hates me now! It's hard for him to avoid when my bump is quite noticeable. How did the tests go?

To those with no kicks...neither have I and I'm 18 weeks, yet he was moving around on the scan.

Have to get used to stop saying he!! DH only let me find out the sex if we kept it as our secret..(of course all you ladies are allowed :)). Going to find it really hard to slip up, esp when my mum is itching to know!

itchy don't worry, most meds that say not suitable for pregnancy are only covering themselves...even strepsils say to get dr approval....I noticed that after wolfing the whole pack when I had a bad cold...

mini glad the yoga was good. I thought my local gym (David Lloyd) did them but can't seem to find any classes. Have a dvd but I know it's not the same thing and my dog just stands on me and licks my face when I'm trying to do it!! Not very relaxing!

fireflies impressed with the cardigan! I don't think I'm too far off buying a wee outfit...all the cute baby stuff is getting more tempting by the day!

We are going to order our pram after the 20 week scan.

itchy, I was just about to come on here and ask if anyone else is feeling kind of un-pregnant! I've not had major symptoms at any stage so far (I'm currently 17 weeks), barring some queasiness and lethargy early on. I do now have a bit of a bump (hooray!) but no movement yet. Basically, I feel a little pdgy but otherwise pretty normal. While I'm very grateful for what so far has been an easy ride, I could use some reassurance that it's ok to occasionally forget that there's a baby inside me - does anyone else do this?

Grr. Wish the MW would have at least tried to listen for a heartbeat at 16 weeks. Three more weeks of worrying until I get another scan!

Am now due the day before DH's 35th birthday - don't think he'll be getting much of a party this year!

Milly I've got my 16 week midwife appt next week (though I will actually be 18 wks - I'm booked in for my 20wk scan when I'm 21 wks so I'm gradually catching up) so hope the midwives are kinder to me. I've spoken to about 3 different ones on the phone and one is a real old hag bit unhelpful but the others seem lovely. Cross fingers I get one of them!

Has anyone thought about birthplans yet? Having watched OBEM my only stipulation so far is that I don't want to be strapped to the bed with medical equipment - or is that something they need to do?

Its exciting about 6th June being my due date as its also my birthday! Having said that both my dc's were 2 weeks overdue so not much chance of me actually giving birth on that date

I have only very recently started feeling movements but was starting to fret a little myself. I'm sure we'll all be being kicked and poked soon enough

I haven't felt much movement just the occassional flutter yet on the scan yesterday 'she' was going mad wriggling, just not into the right position.

Well that wasn't a pleasant experience, I'm pretty much over morning sickness but 12h fast had me feeling pretty nauseous which made rush hour tube travel a bit painful. They make you drink a whole bottle of fizzy lucozade which gave me really bad gas, then had to sit through the sugar jitters and a headache for two hours. Peeing on demand and having three lots of blood taken was the easy bit! For anyone else who has to have one I'd recommend taking something with you to eat as soon as you're done. I threw a banana in my bag this morning and felt soooo much better once I'd eaten it. The nurse did say everyone has a different response so hopefully it won't be so bad for others. Glad it's over now.

Morning everyone!

morning has broken we could actually end up in hospital at the same time if you are going to the POW and our little ones come when they are supposed to!

I have always liked the idea of a water birth and after watching OBEM last night with DH he is coming around to the idea of it, I love baths and pools and just think it might be worth a go, you can always get out if its not for you!

ceeej that does not sound like fun to me, hope the test come back ok and that you have managed to have a proper meal since!

Someone asked about a pillow - I haven't bought one but someone mentioned a dream genie - at least I think it was called that!

Hope everyone is having a good day, I can't wait for tomorrow, my best friend is coming to visit for the weekend and has a gorgeous 3 month old little girl - I can't wait for cuddles!
