New thread with updated stats, before the old one grinds to a halt at 1000 and we loose people! Plus its running so slow it barely loads for me :)

I would say it's normal MockCrock but only you know how heavy the pain is and how much it's worrying you...with previous pregnancy I had the type of pain you're describing for about 3 days and then break and then again for 2 or 3 days but not until much later in the pregnancy. At moments it was so heavy I thought I was gonna drop the baby on the road but all was fine. You can always phone mw and see what she says if it worries you too much.
BTW i'm also 16 weeksSmile take care

Florin · 11/01/2012 13:14

mockcrock I was told by the midwife if the pain is down the sides (imagine the lines of a high cut swimming costume) then this is fine as is ligaments stretching, otherwise give them a call just to check.

Kayzr · 11/01/2012 13:20

Emblosion have you looked at www.tiffanyrose.com I got mine from there and it's amazing. Shame I won't actually wear it.

Warlin · 11/01/2012 13:24

Hi All

Just posted and computer crashed...arggghhh

So busy in work so dont have time for a big one...payback for 2 weeks off :)

Have a scan tonight (18 weeks). Excited but apprehensive...hope everything is ok. I have had pain in lower abdomin for a few days now so hoping all is normal. We are hoping to find out the sex tonight to fingers crossed LO is in full view!

Has anyone else's bumg got really high and big? Mine has def risen and is really quite obvious now! Dreading the size it will be in another 20 weeks!!

Hope everyone has a good day x

thedogwalker · 11/01/2012 13:35

KatyJ Glad your scan went well and that you're going to see your LO again in 2 weeks, how exciting Smile. Welcome Shelly and Rachy and Amethyst, pull up a chair and join the ride, can you cut and paste the list and add your details in, so that we can keep a tally of who is due when.Smile. Kveta so happy for you, glad you can now enjoy your pregnancy without the labour worry. Good luck Warlin for your scan tonight, hope your LO is in the correct position and you get some good pictures. Kayzr, nice dresses but expensive Shock.
Well I'm busy as always at work, but worked out I only have another 3 months and 2 days at work before I take all of my annual leave of 40 days and then go straight on to my maternity leave Grin Grin. I can't wait.

callmemamma · 11/01/2012 13:37

Yes warlin my bump is the same!did not put on weight at all yet but bump def growing which makes everything else look slimmer and I like it Grin
Good luck with your scan and finding out the sex

AmethystMoon · 11/01/2012 14:07

Thank you everyone for the good wishes for my amnio result, they have just called and I got the all clear Grin, I have never been so happy in all my life! I was so worried it would be bad news....think I am on some sort of hormonal high now!
"MockCroc" - I get pains just like the ones you describe and I think it's just my uterus growing, ligaments stretching etc. I've had them for several weeks and have had three scans in that time due to the bad combined result and all looks good. As others have said though, a quick check with your MW might help to out your mid at rest.
"Warlin", yes I really can't hide that I'm pregnant anymore, I've been okay until the last week, getting away with baggy empire line tops etc. but no more! My MW and GP had said baby was tucked away well down in my pelvis until now as I had no bump (just podge from scarily increased appetite) but it appears that it no longer fits down there and has moved up a bit higher.

AmethystMoon · 11/01/2012 14:10

After good amnio news I finally feel I can add myself Grin

My bump is big and high too. and all movements that i'm feeling are at the bottom of it. Lots of little pokes and twitches (19 weeks now). I'm usually a size 8-10 and have put on about 5lb so far.

Good luck to everyone having scans and finding out the flavour. I hope your little bundles cooperate! We're going to wait for the birth though I had a very vivid dream the other night that i spotted a little willy in the 20wk scan. Nobody else noticed though. We're both from very girly families so a boy would be a mega surprise!

Helss i'm another one downing water! I hope you are fighting fit again very soon x

MammaInTheMaking · 11/01/2012 14:18

Wonderful news Amethyst. That really is just fantastic. I hope you can relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

I'm just changing my EDD as it got moved at the 12wk scan but I never changed the list.

warlin hope scan goes well and baby doesn't get shy!
A few days ago my bum suddenly popped and is very high and right out front. Even friend with 2 kids was surprised by it. In most things I wear now it's quite obvious I am pregnant rather than just chubby round the middle!
Felt baby move for a while now but got a proper large kick yesterday which was funny felt like he was trying to get out!

AmethystMoon · 11/01/2012 14:24

Thank you MammaInTheMaking, so glad I found the antenatal tests/choices and pregnancy threads, everyone has been so supportive. Nowhere else could I find so many people that have experienced these things and are so willing to share Smile It makes the tough times more bearable.

SpecialJK · 11/01/2012 14:48

glad everyone seems to be getting on reasonably well. amythystmood great news on the amnio result, must have been stressful
warlin hope the scan goes well. mockcroc me too, but I've not been worried about them as I read it was most likely stretching. I take the view if I get occasional aches and pains and they go away I don't stress, but if something was not going away and in the same place I would call someone

So, my own todays news. Just back from 16 week midwife appointment, so I'm 16+4 we think. Heard baby's heartbeat! All is well, and I'm pleased as I've been blessfully really lucky so far and was feeling that I wasn't really pregnant.

Mind you, on the bump front mines is huge! I was a size 10 before I got pregnant and did regular pilates and gym, so thought that my stomach might stay flat, no such luck. I've put on about 9 lbs so far, and I'm right out in front, poppped out about 13 weeks and growing ever since.... Shock

Here's me added to the list Smile I have 2 date buddies!

Hi girls,
Did write as many messages as possible to everyone before but I honestly think (as I am right now) we don't often have the time to leaf back and read them all. The thread is sooooo busy! :)

I've got a fab midwife, her student sat reading to my kids in the reception while we got on with the appointment. Almost 18 weeks, yipee! Heard heartbeat, seemed slower than the horse galloping I'm used to but that may just be me. I asked, so then, girl or boy? She said, slap in the middle! He he...

Feeling relatively upbeat today despite being exhausted.
Waves to all [wave]

TeaandHobnobs · 11/01/2012 16:00

MW has just been round and we heard the heartbeat really clearly!!!! Grin so chuffed as I had been fretting a little bit, and knew that there was no guarantee we could hear it today. A little weight off my mind.

Now nursing two sore arms as she had to redo another of my bloods (will this damn hospital ever get them right?!) and I have uncooperative veins. Ouch.

Still, on a high now! Not really managing to concentrate on work.... Oops

So pleased you got good news Amethyst Smile

10000fireflies · 11/01/2012 16:18

Wow. I just can?t keep up with you all in here!! The message I drafted the other night would seem really out of date if I posted it now!! Welcome to all newbies
How are you, Kayzr and TDW without your DP?s around? Hope you?re coping ok. Must be tough.
Kveta - good you sorted out the pain relief now. I think you'll enjoy the pregnancy more without having to worry about it.
Amethyst great news re the amnio. Love your NN btw.

Thanks for all the top tips on itching (oh, the glamour!!). I'm glad to see I am not the only one suffering. Have been using a stretch mark serum on my nips and it?s really eased the itching!! I will look out for the ?laniosh creap you mentioned rrrayray. How?s your belly button Mamma? I?m not going to use DH?s stubble like you!! Ouch!!

Funny how varied our bumps are. Depends what I'm wearing whether you can really notice mine. I start to go out gently from just under the ribs and that area seems really firm. Belly varies daily, but jeans really are getting too tight now so must pick up the leggings I've ordered before they get sent back.

Emblosion have you found a good swimsuit? There are plenty in most of the maternity depts but I haven't seen anything truly fab. I am trying to motivate myself to get some exercising built in to my day too. Seen some good DVDs on Amazon. Don't seem to be able to motivate myself to get on with it though. Have a friend who keeps mentioning pelvic floor excercises and talking pointedly about how she wishes she'd done hers, so adding that to the guilt list!!

Kayzr those Tiffany Rose dresses are gorgeous. No wonder you're disappointed you can't wear it. What will you do with it?

Good to hear lots of positive appts and scans going on. Good luck to anyone else having a scan/appt this week.

Waves to all!!

Kayzr · 11/01/2012 18:07

Evening,

Warlin I hope you have a good scan tonight. My bump is really high too. I dread to think what I will look like in 20 weeks time.

Amethyst Thats great news about your amnio.

10000 I can't seem to find a decent swimsuit that I like anywhere. I will probably sell the dress but we are going to see if we can get a cancellation or something when DP gets home. So will hold on until then.

Tea YAY for hearing the heartbeat!! Grin

I have my scan tomorrow afternoon. The boys are coming with me so I might see if they are allowed in to have a look at the baby too.

Florin · 11/01/2012 18:15

Just realised the rather unfortunate typo in my message. Of course I meant my bump has popped out not my bum Grin well I hope my bum has not popped out! I haven't been brave enough to weigh myself. Midwife seems to think that she can see I am not over weight so doesn't weigh me either which I am relieved about.
tea and ecstatica glad your appointments went well

AmethystMoon · 11/01/2012 18:29

Phew glad it's not just me with a rapidly expanding bump. I've also got a lot wider around my ribcage, as well as going up a cup size, I've gone up nearly two ribcage sizes IFKWIM. Had to buy two new bras on Sunday as I could no longer breathe but boobs to big to go without a bra!
Hope your arms are better soon Tea and pleased for you that you heard heart beat, such a relief isn't it. I remember going to my GP at 11+4 and him saying "Let's see if I can hear the heart beat", but then he couldn't and although he tried to reassure me I was devestated and convinced there was no longer a baby :( It seems there is stress at every turn for us all!
Your typo made me laugh earlier Florin - for a moment I thought bums popping out was yet another symptom of pregnancy I had yet to hear of {grin}.

Miniangel · 11/01/2012 18:43

Hi Everyone
It sure is busy here. I had my maternal medicine appt today and the mw was so nice and patient that I wanted to hug her at the end. She patiently found the baby's heartbeat and let me listen to it for a while unlike my 16 week appt. I am very happy and upbeat after the appt.

I am shortly heading to my first pregnancy yoga class and hope I am going to be ok.

Didn't know you couldn't sleep on your right too. I try and avoid sleeping on my back.

My bump is big too. It suddenly popped out a week ago.

Sending happy vibes to all.

10000fireflies · 11/01/2012 19:38

Some swimsuits. Quite like the Boden one in navy, but will prob get a plain black one if and when needed.

MammaInTheMaking · 11/01/2012 19:38

10000 bellybutton itching has calmed down now. I'm using an olive based Vit E cream on my boobs and belly now so maybe it's helping my itchiness Grin.

10000fireflies · 11/01/2012 19:39

Oh, link doesn't quite work. Go to maternity and then swimwear.

FF

10000fireflies · 11/01/2012 19:41

Glad to hear you've stopped using DH's chin Mamma!! Grin

emblosion · 11/01/2012 23:18

Hi all, just back from work (falls asleep) fireflies thanks for swimsuit link, there are some nice ones amongst that lot, I liked the boden one too... Quite fancy a tankini perhaps but still searching.

kayzr Love love the Tiffany Rose dresses, which one did you have? How come you can't wear it? (sorry I must have missed where you explained) I have an utterly lovely wedding dress - Colleen by Sottero and Midgeley - that I won't be wearing due to being pregnant so I feel your pain. Gonna have to try to sell it on to recoup some costs....

miniangel hope pregnancy yoga was good :)

amethyst I too have a mysterious expanding rib cage, I bought some new bras before Christmas and I think I may need remeasuring already.

Can't remember who was itchy, but I am too, DP was laughing at me this morning as I was absently scratching my belly like a chimp- so glamorous!

mockcroc sorry crossposted with you before, I've had a few aches and pains too, sort of round the side of my bump? I've been thinking its most likely stretching but prob will mention it to the midwife when I go on Friday to put my mind at rest.... I also feel more crampy if I get dehydrated....

Am jealous of those with nice round bumps, I think I still look podgy just! I know that I have a retroverted uterus, so I guess that means I might show later, still no signs of feeling baby move frets but I am only 16 weeks so I guess I might not just yet....

Phew, bit of a mammoth post there, finally done - sorry if I missed anyone out, g'night all!
