Dalrymps yay for eating food again! I am having the odd day now where I feel sick all the time, but mostly am ok. Smells still setting me off quite badly, last night DH farted just as I walked into the bedroom, and I had to run back to the bathroom to throw up. He thought it was hilarious
I didn't. Also, DS has decided to start using his potty, and for some reason the sound of emptying it makes me chuck, so it'll be a fun few weeks/months!!
kazyr good luck saying goodby to your DP, we had tears from DS this morning as DH is back at work today. He'll be home by 8pm, but DS will hopefully be asleep by then, so won't see daddy until 4 am the morning, and it's the same all week. god knows how you (and TDW) cope with prolonged absences, I'd be a wreck!
Florin god, your MIL sounds like a nightmare! she should meet my parents
told mum about my bleed/hospital visit and she said 'yes, you're not a natural mother, are you?' WTAF?!! (I mean, I'm not, but fuck it, she's not exactly the pinnacle of mothering success!!). anyway, WRT cotbeds etc - we had a trvel cot for a few weeks (as we needed it anyway for travelling) and got a cotbed 4th hand from my cousin, which is still going, but may need glue to hold it together for a 5th child to use it!! the only bit we were really worried about was the mattress, as that needs to be new really (or used by you already, but not 2nd hand from unknown folk, or stored in the loft for ages - fungal spores are not a good combo with newborns!!). Some people I know had a moses basket in the cotbed to start with, as ther baby looked so tiny in the cot bed, but we didn't bother because of DS's deep hatred for the basket.
Helss hope you feel better soon, gout sounds OUCH! and thanks for the co-codamol tip, I will stick with paracetamol for the time being, but will bear other options in mind!!
SSC best of luck getting grobags! remember you'll only need the 0.5 tog for 0-6 month age, and we managed with 2 (wash one, wear one) until DS was 10 months and wouldn't use them any more!! they are expensive, but we found them so so useful. Especially as we had a child who loathed being swaddled.
sorry not to manage a fireflies like post to everyone
back at work this morning anyway, grr. I like my job normally, but am hating this pg so so much, and was quite liking having DH around, and just pottering about over the holidays. oh well, I get to use the loo in peace now, so that's one bonus.
we had great news from FIL last night - he was planning to visit for a weekend in April (why then?!) and I said to DH 'how about he comes for longer, in June, to be back up child care for DS?' and FIL has agreed! he still only wants to visit for 3 days, but I am working on him coming for 10 days over my due date, as my CM (who will be looking after DS when I'm in labour) is away until June 8th, and my due date is the 5th, so DH and I had agreed that I'd just go to the hospital alone whilst he looked after DS. Thank god that now need not be the case, as I was dreading it. Got a consultant appt tomorrow to discuss my weight and birthing plans, and I will be explicitally stating my intention to be drugged up to the eyeballs again this time, preferably before I've been in labour for 2 days. I asked DH which he'd go for if he had to go through child birth - c-section, epidural and potential forceps, or drug free (as pethidine and g+a do not agree with me). He said either of the options which involve not actually feeling the birth
I asked if he'd think less of me for demanding drugs, and he said not at all, he's still quite amazed that I'm willing to do this a second time after the last time!! so we're on the same page, anyway
right, must work, then order some maternity trews, as I have 1 pair that keeps falling down, and 1 pair that make me sick by pressing on bump (weirdly, last pg they were the other way round - the pair that fall down made me sick by being 'over the bump, and the other pair sat nicely under bump, but not this time!!)
