New thread with updated stats, before the old one grinds to a halt at 1000 and we loose people! Plus its running so slow it barely loads for me :)

I've just had the scan and I have a very awkward baby and they want me to go back next week. But she said she's 80% certain it's a girl!!!! Grin

millyv · 07/01/2012 10:48

Morning all!

DH has just cooked me bacon and scrambled eggs- yummy! Ready to take on the day now- well that is after I've sat on the sofa for a while drinking my tea!

I've had itchy arm pits too bit it's because I had an allergic reaction- the only thing we can pin it to is that I bought 3 new long sleeve T-shirt tops from jojo maman bebe in the sale- bargain only £10 each, anyway I just wore them without washing 3 days in a row and by the end of the first I'd started scratching and it got worse and worse, ended up going to the doctors on Thursday after trying e45, sudocrem and aloe Vera gel and have an antibiotic/ hydrocortisone cream to use- it's brilliant, the rash and itching started going down after the first usage! Apparently we are more susceptible to allergic reactions now we're pregnant?! Just be careful as I ripped my pits to shreds scratching them!

Hope everyone else has a fab weekend, it's the first time this year we have seen a blue sky so are thinking of going for a walk at some stage- fingers crossed! Xx

millyv · 07/01/2012 10:50

Woo hoo congrats kayzr! I don't think they give you a 100% anyway unless it's a little boy who likes to flash his dangly bits! xx

rrrayray · 07/01/2012 10:58

Kayzr - ah congrats. Isnt this the first June baby with a sex? Exciting!!!!!

Millyv - brekie sounds lush. Oh I have sensitive skin, and absolutely have to wash before wear as would always give me rashes if not.

Just had neck and scalp massage to help with headaches. Fingers crossed. Felt good anyway. Off to meet my sister for sushi Lunch. Yummy.

Warlin · 07/01/2012 13:36

Morning all

kayzr great news! How exciting! We are hoping to find out sex on Wed (will be 18 weeks) but may not be possible. How far are you? I thought a girl was hard to see that early. I'm secretly hoping for a girl but obviously would love both :)

kveta any news? Thinking of you...hugs xx

milly eggs sound great. We're having mil for lunch tmw and DH been out shopping...doing a BBQ! Makes me feel summery....:)

Pains have subsided thankfully so thinking of a swim this aft.

Hi to everyone else

Kayzr · 07/01/2012 14:01

Warlin I'm 16 weeks and 2 days today. I am hoping to go back next weekend if I can get there. We've paid for a cd full of pictures but the baby had no interest in being helpful at all. Grin

thedogwalker · 07/01/2012 15:06

Hi all, not been on for a while with being away for the festivites and then back to work this week and first week back is always manic, so had not time to look at MN whilst at work Shock. Plus had to get use to my DM not being here, so now just me and my 16mo DS. Who has gone into full time nursery and I now juggle getting him ready, me ready, getting to work, cooking and cleaning. Weirdly enough it's all gone smoothly this week, but I'm dreading the 3rd trimester tiredness, when it hits, as I have no idea how I will cope.
Got 40 days and my DH comes home for 2 weeks, YIPPEEEE, cannot wait to see him, I plan on putting my feet up but I also know he will need a rest too.

Congrats to Kayzr, a girl, how wodnerful. At least you can narrow your name search down now. I've got my scan on 23 January and I so hope the LO is in the correct position to see the gender. Fingers x for everyone this week with scans, that you get to see the gender, if that is what you want.
Hope everyone is well, take care xx

emblosion · 07/01/2012 20:36

Congrats on your little girl kayzr hope she is feeling more cooperative at your next scan so you can get some good pics!

Dalrymps · 07/01/2012 22:58

Congrats KayzrGrin A little girl! How lovelySmile

Florin · 08/01/2012 00:11

Congrats kayzr on your scan hope you get some good pictures next time.
Over at my pil (well fil and much younger wife) driving me mad as keep getting talked about in front of me like I am not there. To dh don't let florin swim in at this beach it will be to much for her. One I can make my own decisions about what I can manage and two if you do want to say it say it to me! Just gone to bed but can hear them chatting and now dh's step mum (who is only a few years old than dh and never had children) has now decided to have in depth conversation with dh over my maternity leave step mum lecturing I should do this that and the other. Obviously it's not a conversation she thinks I should be involved in! Sorry for the rant but it's driving me crazy. Step mum has already laughed at my pregnancy dream geenii pillow saying its far to early for me to need it. How would she know she has never been pregnant and how uncomfortable sleeping can be. By the way it is my best purchase would highly recommend the pillow now sleeping so much better!
Ok rant over good night to anybody still awake! X

itchyfootedlady · 08/01/2012 06:39

I have the itchy armpits too! Went to cinema last night and Dh thought it very funny that I had hands inside cardy to soothe (scratch :) ) them every 5 mins.

It is currently 6am ish. Anyone else got insomnia? Been up since 4... this pregnancy thing changes every 3 days. Bring back my hungry horny stage... much better that itchy insomnia with cronic

itchyfootedlady · 08/01/2012 06:39

Wind.

itchyfootedlady · 08/01/2012 06:46

Gah... just realised had missed reading about 20 posts... kayzr congrats on the girl! Can't wait to find out what my bump is :)

dogwalker hats off to you coping so well, hope the 40 days fly by and its all so smooth

Welcome new people!

KatyJ26 · 08/01/2012 07:13

Morning! Yes to insomnia- awake since 5am, despite the fact it's my turn for a lie in!
Congrats on scan!
It's too early for me to have engaged by brain and I can't remember what anyone else wrote-sorry! I'll try and pop back later when I feel more human!!!!

callmemamma · 08/01/2012 10:44

Morning!
Congratulations kayzr!I have 1 month before I (hopefully) find out...
Florin Shock at your mil! what is your dh reaction to that?Surely he should tell her to mind her own bussiness..

Helssjbells · 08/01/2012 11:14

Hello fellow mummies to be! I too am due in June (16th!) and was wondering if I could join this group...
I currently have a bit of a dilemma...somehow I've pulled a muscle/ligament in my foot (they warn you, don't they about how with all these extra hormones floating around our bodies it can mean we damage ourselves more easily -well I've done it!) My problem is this... My DH and I have been up most of the night, I've been in agony with it (how will I cope with giving birth?!) I've slept, or at least tried to, with my foot on 3 pillows (lying on my back, yes I know not good) and every couple of hours we changed the ice pack..The colour of my foot veers between normal (when suspended on all my pillows) to dark red/black when I'm hobbling about. DH wants to go to A&E, I think they'll want to x-ray, which I don't want, also I haven't taken any pain killers, I'd rather cope with it...What shall I do?

Also I really need to go to work tomorrow, I think if I can get some crutches (anyone?) I could grin and bear the pain... Does that sound mad?!

Hope all you ladies are ok and are beginning to bloom! xx

hi all, just adding myself to the list.

itchyfootedlady · 08/01/2012 11:41

Helss welcome.... and go to a&e! I hurt my foot 3 years ago and decided to grin and bear it for about a month. Turned out to be a fracture and has rebroken 3 times since as never knitted properly and now I am about to get orthotics for a year. You can always refuse the xray and they can ultrasound you instead. Best to get it sorted before baby arrives as crutches then would be a real nightmare! Good luck.

ceeej · 08/01/2012 12:21

Helss welcome, sorry you've managed to hurt yourself, I second Itchy, get yourself to A&E (or a minor injuries unit if you have one), your foot is far enough away from your womb that they should be able to screen the baby from exposure if you have an xray and you can always refuse it but from your description you've got some pretty bad oedema around it which they may want to do something about or monitor (the hormones cause all sorts of changes to your circulatory system too).

Florin fil's wife sounds awful, try to just ignore her, as you said how would she know what you feel like! I have found it amazing how many people want to tell me what to do as if I have no personal opinions whatsoever any more.

dogwalker hope the 40 days passes nice and quickly for you

thedogwalker · 08/01/2012 13:23

Hello All, Helss I second all the others, I think you should go to A&E and get your foot checked out, better to be safe than sorry, plus you want to get it sorted, don't want a nagging foot pain later on in pregnancy.
Bloomin eck Florin, you are a saint, because I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself and I would have said something rather sarcastic to mil. But you have done the best thing and ignored her, you are on the higher ground. Just keep ignoring her, she obvioulsy knows very little.
Hope everyone is feeling well, take care xx

violets · 08/01/2012 15:21

Hello everyone. Adding myself onto the list as a second timer. Excited! Bubba number two is well and truly making their presence felt. I'm sure those weeks are flying past a lot more quickly than last time, with the help of lovely DS1 keeping me well and truly occupied. I'm sure my tum is bigger this time too.

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 08/01/2012 15:26

Afternoon all!

Welcome to all the new folk. Glad everyone else is doing okay.

Well, we're in the process of trying to rearrange our lounge - new telly is in place (just need to build the stand to make it the right height - here's hoping it fits in the fireplace!), old telly has been taken away by British Heart Foundation (god bless 'em for taking old electrical equipment!) and some stuff has been moved round. Still loads to do before it looks tidy though. And I still haven't built the bloody bed. Mattress and boxes of bed parts still in dining room. Ah well.

Have found a really good deal on a second hand crib on ebay so hope we win it (not in a rush to buy stuff but if I see a good deal I want to snap it up!). Mum and Dad are providing my crib from when I was a baby as a daytime nap venue so it can go in the lounge, and I've ordered some baby clothes I couldn't resist - they're tie dyed and I love them so can't wait for them to arrive! My baby will hate me for it.

The most exciting thing though is that my Nan is knitting something for the baby. She's terminally ill and has been since this time last year - wasn't expected to be here at this point and is very weak. She hasn't knitted for probably 25 or 30 years and has persuaded my mum to provide pattern, needles and yarn. She's plugging away at whatever it is and everyone in the family is absolutely gobsmacked!

Right, DH has appeared with telly stand that requires building. Wish me luck!

violets · 08/01/2012 17:25

Ooh new telly. I'd like one of those in the bedroom for all those late nights and early mornings. Good luck with the building project. It's good to have two cribs/moses baskets on the go. How sweet that they kept yours.

Trying hard not to look at baby clothes in the sale as not planning to find out baby's sex until he/she pops (!) out. Many lovely dresses in Monsoon though.

Have been baking today, craving cake mix because i shouldn't eat it. DD found great pleasure in rubbing raw egg all over her face, even more when I said it was a bad idea.

Florin · 08/01/2012 17:39

Dh and step mil managed to have a huge row over it. She basically want me to completely screw my boss over big style over maternity leave (it would mean possibly going to court) neither dh I want to do this it feels immoral especially as I work for a small family business and I would never do that to them I only want what I am entitled to which I will get. Anyway it was all a but awkward this morning! I think it comes down to jealousy fil has 4 children (oldest same age as his wife) and had had prostate cancer so they can't have children plus fil is poorly, does not want more kids and 70 (big age gap between them) think me getting pregnant has dragged up a lot of issues for her. Rest of day much better dh took me to a place where there is a mamas and papas and mothercare so we had nice afternoon looking at baby things. We are both confused about sleeping arrangements for the baby do we get a cot bed and a Moses basket or do we get a crib for the beginning. Just can't decide! Don't get me started on mattresses it's all so confusing!

violets · 08/01/2012 17:58

We went for two moses baskets & stands. DD was in our room for the first 6 months to keep a close eye on her, which gave us longer to think about the cotbed dilemma.
