Welcome and congrats BibbbleSmile No need to appologise, all June ladies are welcome here!

Sorry about your miscarriagesSad I can understand how that would make you feel apprehensive this time.

Hopefully heating us lot moan on about our aches and pains etc and having the same worries as you will put your mind at rest a littleGrin

Kveta · 06/01/2012 17:49

hiya, sorry not to post earlier!

ended up at GP this morn, who couldn't find HB, so had to go to fetal assessment unit at hospital (2 hour wait!!), then finally saw midwife who found HB immediately (by checking bottom of uterus, not top or sides like GP!), and got a quick reassurance scan too, so saw baby again, which would have been better under nicer circumstances!! anyway, all seems well, and no idea why the bleed Confused

thanks for all the positive wishes!

millyv will vote for you later once DS is abed!

Kayzr · 06/01/2012 17:56

Kveta thats is great news! Smile I've been checking all day for your news.

itchyfootedlady · 06/01/2012 18:03

Kveta glad its all ok!

emblosion · 06/01/2012 18:24

kveta fab news, so glad everything is ok (phew)

Welcome to the June thread bibblebobble

Have been mostly lurking lately as there just hasn't been much to report, awaitibg my 16 week appointment next week and thats about it....

Went to have a first look at some prams today, which was massively confusing, as it made me realise I have literally no idea what I'm looking for!

In relation to cots, cot beds, moses baskets, carry cots - what do I actually need? If I have a carry cot for the pram, can baby nap in there during the day, so I don't need a Moses basket too (and just sleep in cot at night? Hmmm am possibly over thinking things, but I don't want to buy things that we won't get good use out of... (miserly icon)

Hope everyone else is ok and that you're enjoying your Friday night.

10000fireflies · 06/01/2012 18:36

Kveta so glad to hear all is well.

Welcome Bibble

Emblosion we have no intention of buying anything until April or so. I think you can get away with just a baby car seat and Moses basket as the minimum and get the rest as and when, though you experienced 2nd+ timers might be better placed to advise. John Lewis do a Moses basket for £35 BTW. Bargain! You can get a rocking stand to go with it.

ceeej · 06/01/2012 18:41

Yay, glad everything is OK Kveta

Milly I've voted, fantastic picture, hope you win

Itchy great to hear you're feeling better, it is such a relief to just feel normal again, your dreams sound very entertaining Wink

Welcome Bibble, it's completely understandable that you're worried, I keep having to remind myself that we should be out of the danger zone by now. Do you have date for your next midwife appointment or scan to look forward to?

Kazyr enjoy the scan and hope the bean cooperates and shows it's bits for you

Kayzr · 06/01/2012 18:44

Emblosion some pram carrycots say not to use them for long naps like you would a moses basket but it should be ok. The pram we are getting says that the carrycot can be used for overnight sleeping so we are using that and a cot.

Saying that I am tempted by a crib as Babies R Us have crib sets with a drape and they look adorable.

millyv · 06/01/2012 18:53

kveta I'm so pleased all was well!

Thank you ladies about the kind comments, it's not actually one of my favourite photos but the photographer chose which photos to send in, thanks for the votes- everyone counts so fingers crossed!!

Welcome to the new ladies, hope all is going well with your pregnancies!

Had dinner and sat down on the sofa watching tv, think I might try and have an early night tonight! Xx

Kveta · 06/01/2012 18:56

Emblosion don't bother with a moses basket! ours was used approximately 3 times before DS grew out of it! luckily it was 4th hand (from cousins) so we weren't too bitter, but what a waste of space! we're planning to co-sleep again, but if baby is easier than DS was, will have the travel cot set up for him or her to sleep in.

kazyr good luck tomorrow! my baby was very uncooperative wrt showing off genitalia this afternoon, I was very hopeful, but no! so will be drinking some diet coke before the anomaly scan next week and making little one wake up and waggle around for us!!

btw has anyone else read the mumsnet rules book? I got it for christmas and would totally recommend it! it has a nice chapter on misc. crap people feel they need to buy for a newborn, and I certainly got some of the stuff on the list and chucked it soon afterwards!!

right, off to have a long sit down whilst DH has a beer, and we can both try to relax after shitey day! roll on june!!

10000fireflies · 06/01/2012 19:06

Ladies, I have no idea about buying prams etc. Do you have to order them? How long do they take to come? Perhaps I'd better not leave it so late??!!

Kveta great tip re Moses baskets. We're tight on space so might give that a miss now.

Itchy meant to say, really made me laugh to read about your dreams.

Kazyr good luck for tomorrow.

Right, off to scrub bathroom floor. . Have a good evening everyone.

ecstatica · 06/01/2012 19:23

Kveta - Glad to hear all is good :)
Fireflies - Thanks for your reply, glad all went well for you today.
Milly - Beautiful photo and voted too.

Re: Obstetric Appt I have two lined up, last pregnancy I met with the consultants and we just had a chat about the c-sec etc.. am assuming this will be the same but there are a few tiny extra concerns this time too. It's good that you've got an appt good for reassurance iyswim.

Re: Stuff for baby -- went totally OTT with DS1 Blush This time it will be a pram that doubles as car seat and that's probably it Blush. All my children have slept in my bed and then toddled off into their own bedrooms. It was so much easier with sleepless nights and b/f. I did have a moses basket with DS3 and was good for the times I needed to have him sleep near me when cooking etc.. and couldn't leave him with siblings.

Hope everyone is well (ish). I am really looking fwd to scan but still 24 days to go!!!!!!!!

Hello to newbies, congratulations and as our Lady Fireflies is the official admin of the thread (no one replies to a post like she and for which we all feel special) I agree with all her replies -- I second them all :) x

Bibblebobbleparsnip · 06/01/2012 19:28

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies!
Re: Moses baskets - we actually loved ours my daughter (now5) was in it for 6 months whilst in our room, our son was in it for slightly less as he was much bigger. It did mean that once they were out of it they were straight into their own room and a cotbed with sides. I think it did save us money in the long run, as once they were big enough we could just take off the sides. But I know different folk find different things work best for them....

emblosion · 06/01/2012 19:32

Thanks all, and thank heavens for mumsnet!

kayzr good point about the pram carry cots, i'll put that on my list of things to research about prams! Agree that cribs are so cute too! Good luck for tomorrow :-)

kveta that's confirmed my suspicions about Moses baskets, ha ha... The mumsnet rule book sounds like a good buy - I was in the shops today thinking, good grief it would be so easy to spend a fortune!

I'm not gonna buy anything just yet either fireflies but my mum was asking about contributing toward a pram so I just thought I would go and see what was out there as am clueless!
Glad you mentioned ordering times too, I never even considered that!

ChateauMargot · 06/01/2012 19:56

Sarah, it's annoying, isn't it? But kind of nice to know someone else is in the same boat!

itchy, I keep hoping that every twinge is movement, but to be honest I have no idea what I'm looking for! Have promised myself to wait until 20 wks before I worry - and at least there's the scan then.

Welcome, Bibble!

Kayzr · 06/01/2012 20:03

I have the Mumsnet pregnancy book and the babies one. I find myself spending more time giggling to myself though. They are very funny.

emblosion · 06/01/2012 20:18

Ooo Bibble cross posted there... That's interesting about the Moses basket, I wouldn't have thought that they would have lasted that long, like you said, different things work for different people and I guess it depends on size of both baby and basket too .... Oh now I am becoming indecisive again!

fireflies have just been looking at the cute Moses baskets on John Lewis website, I like those better than the ones I saw today in mamas and papas
(which were about 70 quid, v pricey for what they were I thought).... My lesson is to Stick to John Lewis from now on! :)

Warlin · 06/01/2012 20:21

Hi all!

My goodness, 2 days away from the site and there's so much to catch up on. What a rollercoster kveta, was so pleased all ok with HB but really hope the bleeding is nothing. Thinking of you. Stay positive.

milly just voted...lovely pic! :)

Welcome Specialjk and bibble

I've been having some really low abdominal discomfort..at first I thought it was flutterings but when walking around it can get quite bad. Dr Google makes me think its ligament stretching so hope that's all it is.
Just want to see LO again for reassurance....got to wait until Wed for next scan.

Wish I felt some real movement though as I'm 17 weeks now.

Went to the gym last night and felt really strange..think it's the extra 4kg I'm carrying.

Watched one born every minute but felt scared!!! Made it real that I actually have to do that and soon!!! Shock

Really don't want to go back to work Monday :( 4.5 months to go.....why is time dragging???

kveta keeping everything crossed for you.

Hi to everyone else...I'm not as good as fireflies in remembering who said what...I blame the hormones :)

ceeej · 06/01/2012 21:59

I have no idea if this is to do with the pregnancy but the last few days I've developed really itchy armpits in the evening. Weird.

rrrayray · 06/01/2012 22:13

Skim read.

Kveta - any news? All crossed for you lovely.

Had a rotten day here too. Last nights head ache was a full blown migrane. Was beside myself. Called midwife this morning who send down to doctors. GP sent me straight to a consultant at hospitial. Concern was increased risk of blood clots during pregnancy. Talk of brain scan, or using migrane meds (obv would work on migrane, if didn't would point to something else) problem is none declared safe in preg nancy so declined. Have codeine if Happens Again tonight. DH is also away this weekend, typical. If migranes continue will be referred to neurologist and will have to scan. Hmm

Warlin. Sounds like ligament pains to me. Hope not too uncomfy.

Hi to everyone else. Hope well x

rrrayray · 06/01/2012 22:15

Ceeeej - my hair (head and bodily) grows super quick when pregnant but perhaps could be that that's making pits itch? Failing that, I find aloe Vera gel great.

10000fireflies · 06/01/2012 22:31

Rrrayray you poor thing you. That sounds awful. I hope you're ok. Keep us posted.

Ecstatica You're making me [ blush] Wink

ceeej thank goodness someone else is having weird itching. My nipples have been agony!! Anyone else?? Hopefully that has nothing to do with hair growth though??!! Grin

Warlin I've been getting some strange feelings in the past couple of days. It's not the sort of romantic flutterings I'd imagined though, more a dull, grumbly achiness. Experienced ladies - what exactly will it feel like??!!

Right, reckon I can get another episode of OBEM in before I drop off.

Night all!!

xx

rrrayray · 07/01/2012 08:45

Fireflies - I Definately had itchy nipples last time round. Not yet though this time. If gets uncomfy maybe worth getting some laniosh nipple cream, as if you plan to breast Feed its amazing so will come in handy then!!

Good news my end was NO migraine last night. Didn't sleep particularly well as was sort of waiting for the migrane to kick in, but it's reassuring after all the talk of blood clots etc!!

Resting up today as DD and I both have a nasty cough.

rrrayray · 07/01/2012 08:46

Kveta - thinking of you x

MammaInTheMaking · 07/01/2012 10:15

ceeej and 10000 my itching is my bellybutton which is threatening to turn into an outie. Last night DP was talking to my belly and he's a bit stubbly at the moment. Was a great surface to scratch on!!!
