Wooo, We appear to have agreed on names for the baby!!

Florin · 29/12/2011 18:22

Wow kayzr you are organised! we have decided on a boys name but have a huge list of girls names and just can't agree!

mrsshears · 29/12/2011 19:38

I wish we could agree on names,we have our girls name which will be primrose (no middle name as yet) but can't agree on boys at all.

Kayzr · 29/12/2011 19:53

Florin we had a huge list of girls names. I think there were 63 I liked and 38 DP and I agreed on.

We might change our minds yet but I hope not.

ffnorm · 30/12/2011 11:20

Morning all and welcome Pickled

Today I had my "reassurance" scan after the bleed I had at the beginning of Dec (rediculous but took it as an extra chance to see my baby) Glad to report all is well and baby Ffnorm was jumping around with an excellent heart beat.

Of course the rude Dr I saw the day of the bleed had booked my scan for the wrong place as I am 16 weeks and the EPU only scans under 12 weeks,so they were confused as to why I was there but luckily they were lovely and scanned me anyhow, So nice to have a pleasant experiance after the awful one.

On Christmas day,I spoke to a good friend of mine back in SA, who told me they had just found out that she is pregnant with twins... due beginning of August. She is still getting her head around the idea of 2.Felt a bit sad that we'd be pregnant together but not see each other... though will see them in Jan,which is just around the corner!!

Very jealous of those who have names - don't seem to like any names at the moment Confused

Dalrymps · 30/12/2011 12:36

Afternoon all Smile

ffnorm So glad all was ok with the scanSmile

Names, we have a short list of ideas for girls and boys but haven't made a final decision on either yet.

I'm afraid I'm going to moan now.. Dh and I have a D and V bugSad I started being sick last night and he started shortly after. Ils are watching the boys thank god cause we're both just in bed feeling awful. I'm managing small sips of coke and water but no food yetSad

ceeej · 30/12/2011 18:19

Hello everyone, hope you had great Christmases and welcome pickles, we had a lovely time visiting everyone but were exhausted when we got back last night, having a quiet NYE to recover!

kazyr I can't believe you've got names already, we have a bit of a shortlist but DH is finding it hard to consider until we know the sex so fingers crossed the bean co-operates at the 20 week scan.

ffnorm glad you got to see the baby and EPU were nicer than the awful doctor you spoke to originally. My cousins wife is due a month before me but they've just moved to Oz and I also feel a bit sad that we won't get to enjoy being pregnant together. Good that you get to see each other and enjoy lots of baby chat soon though.

Dalrymps gutted that you've both got a bug, hope you get better soon, sounds terrible.

Having been completely overwhelmed by the choice of buggies/prams/travel systems when we went to have a look in the shops I've joined Which? and been having a look through their reviews, we're quite taken with the Uppababy Vista, hoping to get to a dealer and try it out in person soon.

Kayzr · 30/12/2011 18:28

Ceej I have only heard brilliant things about the Uppababy Vista, my friend has got one for her baby that is due today and it looks really good.

FFnorm Thats brilliant news about your scan. I still think that the way you were treated was really awful.

Dalrymps I hope you both feel better very very soon.

I have a week until the scan we've booked so DP can see the baby before he goes to work. I am feeling very impatient, the private scan place is near a shopping centre with a mothercare and I would love to go buy something blue or pink Grin

Hope everyone is well.

KatyJ26 · 30/12/2011 21:08

Hello all!
Hope you?ve all had a great Christmas ? can?t believe 2011 is almost over! I joined the ?fly? group in a bid to try and keep on top of the house in 2012 and also looked at a ?make more of an effort with yourself? type thread ? spent a while de-cluttering a room, but did it in my pj?s looking like a tramp, so have come to the conclusion that either I can look beautiful, or my house can look beautiful, but I cannot accomplish both on the same day!!! So if I?m looking rough, people are much more likely to be invited back for coffee! ? so those were my thoughts on New Years Resolutions.
Kayzr ? roll on one week, so you get to see your little one again ? I won?t be finding out what I?m having, so I get extra excited when other people do!
Ceeej ? Enjoy the relaxing ? very jealous, although it does sound like you?ve had an a ction packed Christmas and need a bit of a rest. Happy pushchair shopping!
Dalrymps ? hope you are feeling better soon. With regard to baby names, we don?t even have a shortlist? we just like completely different things ? good job we?ve got a bit more time!
Ffnorm ? glad your scan went well. I know what you mean about your friend being pregnant too, you?ll have to skype lots and compare notes/bumps!
Mrsshears ? do you think you?re having a girl? When we could only agree on a girls name, we had a girl and vice versa (could just have been massive coincidence!)
Horseygirl ? April/May is fine to get things!!! (worried emoticon!)
Pickled ? welcome!

I can?t remember any further back, sorry!

Night xx

Xmas Smile have to make the most of the festive smileys, they might be gone soon!

ChateauMargot · 30/12/2011 23:44

Hi Pickled - I'm a couple of weeks behind you but also have PCOS, so know what you mean about expecting something to go wrong. Your 20 week scan must be approaching quickly now, though?..

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 31/12/2011 12:18

Hiya everyone!

Hope you all had a good Xmas and have a fab New Year tonight.

Dalrymps - hope you feel better soon.

Okay, I have a mattress and boxes of bed bits still in the dining room as we haven't had time to build the bed.

I've ordered a TV that's being delivered today and is so big I think we're going to have to move out for it to fit in the lounge.

The cats are trying to drive me insane while I clear space for said TV and I've now given up trying to do anything practical. I have a sweaty Sphynx cat sat on me (they're a hairless breed so tend to get a bit 'sticky' when warm) and the big white tom is jealous and keeps jumping up to try and fit. He's deaf so ignores me when I politely ask him not to. All this jumping on me and treading is starting to make me feel distinctly queasy. The elderly tortoishell and white has burrowed into some bags of Xmas stuff on the sofa and I may never see her again.

DH has gone to visit his mum as she's just come out of hospital.

I'm convinced my child is going to grow up to be some sort of delinquent. No idea why.

Must go - large white tom cat has just jumped on the Yamaha keyboard. Which makes a change from chasing invisible things.

Arrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh.

emblosion · 31/12/2011 18:05

Oh dear SSC your cats antics made me laugh! My cat is in disgrace, yesterday I was making a special dinner for my FIL and BIL and had , just before serving up, put bread and butter on the table. I turned my back for TWO seconds and when I turned back the cat had crept in, like a ninja, was on the table and had managed to lick every exposed surface of butter.

Threw butter away of course, but thank god noone saw! Cats eh?

Happy New Year all x

KatyJ26 · 31/12/2011 18:12

Happy New Year ladies- can't believe we're all having babies in 2012-how exciting!!!Smile

Dalrymps · 31/12/2011 18:56

Happy New Year! Here's to a brilliant 2012!!! Smile

ecstatica · 31/12/2011 19:28

Happy New Year ladies :)
Let's raise our glasses to an exciting 2012, OMG -- with all our new babies!!!!

I've only managed back a page, hope I haven't missed anything too important. My scan isn't for another 4 weeks, anyone else end January?
I'm still very sick so haven't been a frequent poster, cannot keep posting 'am still sick' lol. I have blood tests and scans coming up for what may be my kidneys or whatever else. Pregnancy wise - all seems fine :)

People have names already?! WoW, i am really impressed.
Sorry to hear Dal isn't well, at least the kids are not under your feet, nothing worse when you're in and out the loo being ill. Oh and huge LOL at either having clean house or clean person, so funny but sadly true at times.

Happy New Year Gals [clink clink]
Xmas Grin tra la la

Florin · 31/12/2011 19:39

Ha

Florin · 31/12/2011 19:44

Not sure hat happened to my previous message!
Happy new year everyone! I am just about to go out in Cornwall, out with my midwife who says of course I can have a small glass of wine or two so looking forward to tonight! Least I will be well looked after!
Wishing everyone a very exciting 2012 with lots of healthy arrivals!

10000fireflies · 01/01/2012 08:06

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a good one all round!!

millyv · 01/01/2012 12:15

Happy new year everyone! Xxx

Kayzr · 01/01/2012 12:52

Happy New Year!!

We've been trying to potty train DS2 and he's just done a wee on the front room floor. I'm trying not to laugh at the look of utter shock on his face Grin

Florin · 01/01/2012 14:40

Kayzr good luck with the potty training have to admit that is something I am not looking forward to about parenthood! Hope you have hard floors in your front room!

Warlin · 01/01/2012 17:15

Happy new year everyone!!

SSC your cat stories made me laugh! My dog is being a wee monkey these days too! I wonder when she'll realise I'm pregnant..or maybe she already does. She is very attached to me and practically ignores DH :)

Welcome pickles

ffnorm great news about your scan! Such a relief! I have a friend who is one week overdue and the hospital have said they are too busy to induce her and can't offer her a date until 12th Jan! She will be 3 weeks overdue then! the NHS is so hit and miss. She's so uncomfortable :(

We have names picked...DH has finally come round to my way of thinking and is now keen to find out the sex :)

I've been having really weird feelings in my stomach (almost cramping that doesn't last)..wonder if it's baby movements??? My bump has got really big now and my boobs have had another growth spurt! That's all I need, being a D cup prior to pregnancy. Went up to M&S today to get some new bras but they were closed...raging.

I'm going pram shopping next week but have done quite a lot research. Which love the Uppababy Vista which I want to see and I love the look of the Bugaboo Camelion...need to find stockists and have a look.

Can't believe we are all having babies this year!!!

Twiglet100 · 01/01/2012 17:20

Happy New Year everyone! It's going to be an exciting one, that's for sure!!

Welcome pickled and hope that you're feeling better soon, ecstatica

Whinge alert -- I think i am the recipient of a hangover transfer! Against all the odds, DP feels fine and has been sanding the worktops and listening to Jesus and Mary Chain at high volume, while I've had an evil headache all day. How rude. Actually has anyone else been getting headaches? I hear that they're a common pregnancy symptom, but I do wish that they wouldn't go on for several days at a time. Anyway, it's one of the reasons why I haven't posted for a while, can't deal with looking at the computer screen too long.

Does anyone have a 20 week scan date yet? I phoned up the other day to find out what was happening with mine (didn't receive the confirmation letter) and it's not till my 22 week as they don't have any earlier appointments (my midwife put the request in at least 5 weeks ago). This seems a bit late, no?

Impressed that some folks have chosen (i.e. agreed) names already. DP won't entertain any boys names unless they correspond to former Arsenal players. Negotiations onoing...

Kayzr · 01/01/2012 17:25

Twiglet I like your DH. DS1 is Freddie after Freddie Ljungberg, DS2's middle name is George after George Graham and if this one is a boy his middle name will be Henry. How on earth I've managed to have 2 partners that support Leeds that agree to naming boys after Arsenal players I'll never know Grin

Twiglet100 · 01/01/2012 20:51

Kayzr that is very funny (incidentally, you must be very pleased about the weekend's results!) Of course, I will not relay this to DP as it will only fuel the fire. He's keen on Dennis (after Bergkamp) or Thierry, which is just inviting the poor child to be called Terry. Funnily enough, I'm more of a Leeds supporter Grin
