Hi all!
I am one of those who don't post much but read everything on regular basis!
JJ am so so sorry for your loss :(
I have my scan on Tue and and I'm absolutely dreading that the same may happen to me.
I am very happy for everybody who got good news at their scans and hope I can join you on Tue.
Time to sleep now!can't remember last time I stayed up till that late...but really wanted to catch up on the thread after long day at work..

greengoose · 10/12/2011 09:39

Hi everybody.
JJ, soso sorry to hear your news. Please look after yourself and have lots and lots of cuddles with your kids.

I haven't posted in ages... Finally got the time to sit down and wade through the pages I've missed! Congrats to all those with good news at scans.... It's such a relief!

We all got over being ill just in time to go to London for our usual Christmas trip last week, and had a great but knackering time doing all the usual pre Christmas London stuff. Got home on Thursday night and then DSs Christmas fair at school yesterday, so feeling very festive. Unfortunately need to invest some serious effort in tidying house before we can put up the tree.... Our house hasn't recovered from us all being I'll for two weeks.

Great to hear all the buggy talk, and names being thought of! I had a bugaboo frog for the last two (we had to import it from holland 10 years ago! I even had to demo it for the staff at John Lewis as they hadn't seen them yet!) it's a bit dead now though! I might get a second hand mountain buggy, as I have a 2 mile walk for school run through steep woods, but will probably use ergo sling more than anything.

We will find out gender at 20 weeks..... With 2 boys my dp really wants a girl... So would I, but I'm also liking the idea of a pack of boys... Either way I think I'd prefer to know....

Sorry no name checks.... But hope all well and I'll try to keep up from now on!

emblosion · 10/12/2011 09:49

My scan is on Tuesday too callmemamma I didn't think it was possible for time to go so slowly! I've been fretting like mad, had to give myself a stern talking to last night! Doesn't help that I've got a rotten cold that I can't seem to shake off so I just feel a bit crap and ill... Boo.

Oh dear, sorry for moaning - am alright really, just feeling sorry for myself! Have a good day all :) (sneeze)

Miniangel · 10/12/2011 12:44

Congrats on your scan SSChedder.
Emblosion , Callmemamma and TDW hope the wait goes by quickly and you all have great scan stories to tell come Tues.

I am in 2 minds about finding out the sex of the baby at 20 weeks but DH wants it to a surprise. He might get his way for once by the looks of things. This is my first one so a healthy baby is all we want irrespective of the gender. My scan is on 8th Feb.

Has anyone else been thinking of joining pregnancy yoga? I had found out that you can join after 12 weeks and need to sort something out soon.

I am back to vomitting everything I eat after a few days break. Since yesterday have been throwing up everything I eat. Feel absolutely rotten. Should be sorting out quotes for man with a van as we are moving soon. Finally found a house. My b'day is boxing day but this year we will be busy packing everything.

Florin · 10/12/2011 15:53

miniangel there is a nct yoga class which you can start from 12 weeks really near me which I really fancy going to. Can't decide if to start it now or to just wait until after Christmas. It does sound quite good and a good way of meeting other pregnant women in the area.
Sorry to hear you're feeling rotten, hope you feel better soon
[waves] to everyone else hope you are all having a good weekend. I am feeling better so had a bit of a cleaning frenzy to catch up on the last month or two of not doing much. Hopefully house looks better as have friends over later for dinner

thedogwalker · 10/12/2011 18:09

Congrats Cheddar on the scan, hope mine goes as smoothly.
The yoga classes sound good, for DS I did a dvd but a class seems nicer, to be able to meet other Mums, so I might check the local areas for any, good idea.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I've been to Bath to have a look a the Christmas Markets, bit disappointed, after living in Germany for over 15 years, it wasn't quite the same. Oh well DS got even more stocking fillers Xmas Smile

ecstatica · 10/12/2011 22:30

Hi girls,
Anyone with a scan this week? Hope everyone is ok.

I spent way too long in Sainsbury's this evening choosing 'must have' food items -- nothing concrete for anyone to actually eat, just bags of nibbles, drinks and sweets Blush Must get online and order an actual 'shop'.
Started on the Oriental & Chilli Snack Mix while building my son's Lego truck...one hour later and one pair of lovely slippers in the wash my throat is let's say...a tad sore. Warning, do not eat anything with the slightest dash of chilli in if you are still puking for England like me. I just don't learn. Oh, and remove favourite winter slippers before you reach the bathroom too!!

There :) I thought, I won't moan, I'll offer some friendly advice lol.
Enjoy your Sundays gals, mines will revolve around the sofa no doubt x

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 11/12/2011 12:16

Afternoon all!

Well, Xmas party on Friday night was a bit weird. One of the girls from my dept came up to me and asked if I was pregnant! Said she'd thought I was for weeks and had been telling people she thought so but everyone else had been rubbishing the idea Shock. Rather thrown by this (I would never ask anyone if they were pregnant, least of all my manager's boss!) I just said 'well, if I was, it's not something I'd want to discuss at a Xmas party, is it?'. To which she replied that she was so happy for me and promised not to tell anyone! Hmm. Kind of took the shine off the party for me to be honest so we only stayed about an hour and a half and then headed home. Very weird.

Anyway, DH called his mum yesterday to tell her about baby (my family know but we hadn't told his yet) to have his sister answer the phone and advise that their mum was just being loaded into an ambulance with a suspected heart attack. Probably just as well we didn't tell her, then! She's still in hospital today in the coronary care unit, although the docs don't seem to know what's going on, so we're off to visit later this afternoon - about 90 min drive each way. Bit worried about DH as he's already got high blood pressure due to stress at work so hope this doesn't make it worse (he's back to see the doc this week for results of tests). He did tell his sister about baby though and apparently she's a bit excited (she's already a gran though so I think being an aunty is probably old news really!). Emailed my mum and dad a photo of a scan pic to which my dad replied 'what, only one?' Grin.

Hey ho, fun weekend! Hope everyone's having a marginally less mad weekend than me.

ffnorm · 11/12/2011 13:34

Sorry all, that i posted about my bleed and then dissapeared!!!

JJ I am so sorry - hope you are ok,thinking of you!

I have got more annoyed with how things were handled the more i think about it,so for now have put off thinking too much about it.Feeling ok and bleeding hasn't returned and still feeling pregnant IYKWIM.

emblosion · 11/12/2011 14:16

Cheddar hope your MIL is ok - v scary for everyone.

What strange behaviour from the girl at the party! I would never dream of asking someone if they were pregnant, let alone my boss. People seem to love speculating, I had something similar the other day when I bumped into someone I know in the supermarket. She didn't ask outright, but she gave me a real looking up and down, complete with narrowed eyes and crafty expression- even DP noticed! Keep em guessing I say, ha ha.

emblosion · 11/12/2011 14:20

ffnorm glad all seems well now, what a relief.

ChateauMargot · 11/12/2011 17:37

Cheddar, I hope you MIL gets better soon.

A friend of DH's who we'd been to stay with when I was 7 weeks pregnant emailed him a while ago to ask if I was pregnant - no idea how she'd have guessed, as I've had hardly any symptoms. Agree that it's v odd for people to put you on the spot like that.

Has anyone had dizzyness/hypoglycemic type spells? I had a terrible one last week at the doc's - thought I was going to faint, and I'm not a fainter - and it really scared me...

Yoga does appeal d'you think it's ok to start around 5 months instead, tho?

ChateauMargot · 11/12/2011 17:39

Apols for lack of punctation - on bberry and can't see what I'm doing!

AwayinaKayzr · 11/12/2011 18:53

Cheddar I hope your MIL is better soon. How strange was that girl? It's fair enough to have suspisions about it but she's mentioned it to other people Xmas Hmm

I have found the only annoyance of pregnancy. I have been after a new tattoo for ages and just decided on it. But of course you can't have them when pg. Oh well, I can wait Xmas Grin

Novmama · 11/12/2011 19:33

Thanks to everyone with the tips re maternity clothes shopping. I'm about to order a few things from Seraphine and my mum has shopped for me. She can shop till she drops! Hopefully at least some of the them will be suitable.

So sad to hear JJ's news. My thoughts are truly with you.

A timely reminder I think that we all need to take care of ourselves and because we are all hitting the 3 month mark and are being lulled into a false sense of security. Over the next couple of weeks - so what its Christmas - just relax, don't stress. Let others look after you and if things don't get done - cards, wrapping, shopping etc - well there is always next year!Xmas Smile.

Still feeling queasy by the way - hope its gone by Christmas day - the thought of turkey and all the trimmings is truly revolting!

Dalrymps · 11/12/2011 20:19

Hey everyone, had a nice relaxing weekend here.

SSC What strange behaviour from the girl at the Xmas party and how noses of herHmm

Hope mil is ok and it's just a false alarm.

All those that have had reassuring scans, congratsSmile

Nausea is definitely easing for me the past week, thank god! I should be able to actually enjoy Xmas dinner!

Just watching xfactor final.

Finally finished my Xmas shopping woo hoo!

AwayinaKayzr · 11/12/2011 21:43

Xmas Sad my DS2 is 3 tomorrow. He's so so grown up now. I'm so pleased to have another on the way. I can't believe 3 years ago tomorrow my big lump of a baby arrived.

I'd like DC3 to be a little less than their brothers 10lb 5oz thanks!! Xmas Grin

ellybett · 11/12/2011 21:44

Haven't posted for a while as didn't have a lot of chirpiness to spread!

Was so sorry to hear JJ's news, it seems the worst nightmare to me. I'm glad there is good family there to keep her going.

Have my scan tomorrow and am absolutely bricking it. Had some bad pains on Thursday for half an hour only but still scared me into thinking the worst thoughts. Been ok since then except for chronic constipation which I'm hoping was the cause of the pains. Have really tried to change my diet and even attempted dried apricots but they were like eating rubbers! Will get some advice from the MW tomorrow. Ironically since the pains my MS has come back with a vengeance which has actually been appreciated for once, nice to get the little reminders!

Glad you're ok ffnorm and good luck emblosion, tdw, and callmemamma with your scans. Mine is at 9:45 tomorrow morning so at least I won't spend the day stressing. Wish me luck!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 12/12/2011 06:59

Morning all!

Well, went over to see MIL yesterday afternoon and she's okay. They're still not sure what's going on so keeping her in for tests - they're thinking mild heart attack but aren't sure if there's anything else going on. I think that looking after FIL has just got too much for her - they're looking for emergency respite care for him and we'll take it from there. Told her about the baby (figured that while she was hooked up to the monitors, we might as well test out her cardiac system Grin). To say she's a bit pleased would be an understatement. All the nurses were informed. Loudly. There will be knitting apparently. Just the standard stuff. Whatever that means. In lemons and whites. Oh god.

Must admit, I'm finding the extreme excitement from everyone quite weird - I mean, DH and I are pleased and happy that we're having a baby, but we're not 'excited' if you know what I mean. Everyone seems to expect us to be a lot more 'gooey' about it than we are! Ah well, it's just how we are and they'll have to deal with it.

So, need to find a way to tell all my colleagues at work this week - although after Friday night half of them probably know already thanks to Little Miss Nosey. Hey ho. Xmas lunch for the management team today though so at that should be a nice break in the working day for a change!

Good luck to everyone with scans this week and hope everyone has a good day.

PS - anyone else having mad vivid dreams? I've had a few but last night's takes the Biscuit. There was a pack of beasts like the ones out of The Beast House book series, a Towering Inferno style situation (without the fire) and a Kraken. I triumphed over all though. So that's good. Hmm

emblosion · 12/12/2011 09:05

Morning all

Yes to the crazy dreams, mine are getting progressively weirder as the weeks go on!

Cheddar am really glad your MIL seems ok, hopefully all the tests will get to the bottom of what happened soon. It's lovely that she was so excited too, it'll take her mind off being in hospital for sure!

I quite like the idea of learning to knit, my friend found a tutorial on you tube and now she makes some lovely things.

Good luck with your scan today ellybett will be thinking of you, don't forget to tell us how you get on! I've been generally windy, gassy and constipated too, only thing I have found to make a slight difference is drinking loads - feels like gallons - of water, ah its a glamorous life!

Anyway, have a good day all!

Warlin · 12/12/2011 09:15

Morning all

Hope you all had a good weekend.

seriously glad your MIL is ok..maybe that news will help her get better.
So rude of the girl in work....I would never ask anyone that. When I told work last week one of the girls said she suspected because of my stomach and my boss said she knew as I have a "glow". Def don't know where she got that as I feel fat and tired so def know I'm not glowing! :)

Very sad as I left my wee dog into the vet this morning to be spayed. I'm more emotional than normal at the moment and couldn't help having a wee cry in front of the vet..hope shes ok!

Anyway gotta go, hope everyone has a good day x

callmemamma · 12/12/2011 09:31

Morning everyone!
SSC glad your MIL is better.
I didn't experience any over excitement from others yet as we didn't tell anyone apart from my best friend but me and dh are also not very excited ourselves as having not had any scan yet I was kind of pretending this was not even happening...hard to explain but anyone who previously mc I am sure will understand what I mean
emblosion ,ellybett , tdw we're all in it together!Good luck to you girls!
My scan is at 9.30,so glad it's in the morning!I know it's not tomorrow yet but I say finally the wait is over and I hope I will start enjoying this pregnancy truly ...

Dalrymps · 12/12/2011 09:38

Morning ladiesSmile

SSC Thats nice your mil was so pleased!

I know what you mean about other people getting 'excited'. I would say we're more 'pleased' than excited also. I think it's easier for other people to just feel pure excitement about it as they don't have the daunting task of actually raising the baby to look forward to and all the worries associated with the thought of that iyswim.

Of course raising a Ol is absolutely wonderful but there are challenges along the way! I think I'm more 'excited' about my sils baby than mine as I don't have to look after hersGrin

Dalrymps · 12/12/2011 09:39

lo not Ol!

Kveta · 12/12/2011 10:09

morning everyone!

is anyone else suffering from insomnia? I have been since about 6 weeks, and it is really starting to get painful. I am waking up between 2 and 4am every day without fail, and can't get back to sleep - and that's after struggling to sleep in the first place. Had it with DS, but not this bad, and I think it was mainly in the 3rd trimester (although had the odd night of it in the 1st trimester, it wasn't so consistent). I'm getting a bit scared about driving on the motorway to work every day, as my response time is appalling, and my eyes are totally red and bloodshot, with humungous bags under them. grr.

however, nausea is definitely getting better, am still throwing up, but not nearly as much, and I was even able to do some cooking at the weekend without feeling sick!

good luck for all the scans this week!
