New thread with updated stats, before the old one grinds to a halt at 1000 and we loose people! Plus its running so slow it barely loads for me :)

yeah, don't want to too soon, maybe after Christmas when we know everyone should have had scans and some people may not be posting as much until then, also a fair few peoples dates'll change so everyone tidy up if they want?

Twiglet100 · 08/12/2011 23:16

JJ. So, so sorry to hear your news. Happened to me with my first pregnancy, so know how much of a shock it is. Please try to rest well and be kind to yourself x

CaptainNemo · 09/12/2011 09:22

Pepper that's a really good idea. I only wonder whether we should do it sooner as it was Jjingle who started this thread so it'll keep popping up on her 'Threads I Started' list, can't be a nice reminder Sad ... what do others think? Am happy to wait other than that

Went mat clothes shopping yest, had forgotten the extent to which it really is my LEAST favourite kind of shopping. Was v disappointed by Gap Maternity, but got a top at 1/3 off in New Look, one at 50% off in Mothercare and some mat tights (which am currently wearing... A lot more comfortable than my suit which appears to be trying to eat me....) and some stuff from Zara which wasn't mat stuff but should hopefully last me til the spring which am really pleased with (so far at least...). DD was august born so I have lots of summer stuff but nothing I can wear now so, you see, I just had to buy new clothes! Xmas Grin

Hope everyone has a good day, have lost track if anyone has a scan today sorry....

Still thinking of you Jjingle Sad

ecstatica · 09/12/2011 10:11

Quick message for Seriously Strong Cheddar wishing you luck, you have a busy day ahead will log in at around 4 to see your news.

Rrrrayray · 09/12/2011 10:18

Jingle - so very sorry to hear your news. My heart goes out to you.

All well here, not as tired as have been, although hits me about 6 o clock.

Sickness, nothing on what it was but rears its ugly head every now and again. Constant munching seems to be only solution. Apparently cucumber as an inbetween meal snack is a bad idea, and tastes vile on the way up!

Don't think I've seen the question asked, but I wonder how many of us are planning to find out sex at 20 weeks? We have one DD (3 in jan) so will find out, not only bc I'm inpatient but bc we won't need to buy anything really if a girl, and a few bits for a boy.

DH convinced is a boy, think this is his Postive thinking / vibes Trying to influence though.

Hope everyone has nice plans for the weekend! Xx

Rrrrayray · 09/12/2011 10:19

Oh.... And good luck cheddar!!! Grin

AwayinaKayzr · 09/12/2011 10:24

Morning,

Cheddar I hope your appointment goes well today.

Personally I never check 'Threads I Started' unless I need to look for something and its gone from 'Threads I'm on'. Maybe we should wait for everyone to have the scans as there can't be many people left to have one now. Then start a new thread and new list?

I don't mind either way though.

AwayinaKayzr · 09/12/2011 10:25

Rrrray I will be finding out at the 20 week scan. I found out with both of the boys. It makes life much easier I think.

thedogwalker · 09/12/2011 10:27

Hi all
JJ so sorry to hear about your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Hi Ecstatica, I'm still here, thanks for asking, but I have been in the same bad place as Boris, had terrible sickness for a couple of weeks now, it is just starting to fade. I was working, putting LO to bed and going to bed myself, I didn't have the energy to stay awake or come on to MN. Boris I hope you too are feeling better. I had none of this with DS1, so its come as a bit of a shock.
FFnorm, hope the bleeding has stopped and you are feeling much better and I hope everyones scans are going well. I am 13 weeks today but not got my scan until Monday, I just can't wait to see my little ray of sunshine for the 1st time.

Hope everyoen has a good weekend, take care xx

emblosion · 09/12/2011 10:51

Good luck today Cheddar I'll pop on here later to see how you get on Smile

My scan isn't til Tuesday morning and I'm mentaling like nobodys business. I'll be 12+5 then by my calculations...

Agree about re-doing the stats list, good idea pink ..... Most should have had scans by end of next week or so, in terms of changes to dates etc.... What does everyone else think?

Have a good day all!

Kveta · 09/12/2011 10:55

rrrray we'll be finding out the gender at the 20 week scan, if we can. I want to know already! got my 20 week scan on friday 13th of jan (when I'll be 19 weeks Xmas Confused) and can't wait! We have decided on names though, so once we know which it is, can start calling bump by that name to ourselves. We liked being able to do that with DS.

I'm sort of secretly hoping it's another boy this time, as I'm scared of being mum to a girl! I won't know what to do! Plus which they can share a room for longer if they're the same gender. Xmas Grin DH doesn't mind either way, but everyone keeps saying to me 'you'll be a wanting a girl this time then?' erm, no, we want another child, gender is irrelevant!!

good luck on monday thedogwalker!

I got up at 6 this morning to hurl again, thought that had stopped now Xmas Hmm and someone in the office is eating something stinking at the moment, so am sitting at my desk a little green!

I posted my scan pic on FB yesterday to finally announce to our friends that we are expecting again. I wasn't going to, but thought it was easier than dropping it into conversation subtly all the time, and definitely easier than emailing all our overseas pals to tell them! Anyway, I promptly got messages from 3 of my overseas friends who are also expecting in April/May next year!! It's quite exciting, one of them is in her mid-30s and her DH has been saying for years that he wants kids but 'not yet' whilst she got ever broodier! I'm so excited for them! And one friend is due 10 days before me, so she says we can race to have them, as we were both late with our 1st Xmas Grin

can you believe it's now only 2 working weeks until christmas? And I still haven't sent any cards, or finished wrapping presents for sending abroad? how's everyone else getting on with preparations for the festive season?!

Miniangel · 09/12/2011 11:10

Hi All

JJ so sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad you are being looked after. Do take care of yourself and you never know some of us may meet again.
FFnorm I am outraged for you too. Hope you are feeling better.
SSCheddar I hope your appt goes well today.
Pink , Florin and Kayzr Let's get a re-list after Xmas. It would be good to get the dates right too while we are at it after everybody's had their scans.
Boris Hope you feel better soon.

The sickness is getting better for me although saying that today seems to be a bit of a rough day.

thedogwalker · 09/12/2011 11:11

Kveta I too want to find out the gender, I want to be organised and I too have the same worries abut having a girl. I just have this irrational idea that a girl will be harder Xmas Confused. At this stage, I am just hoping for a healthy baby at the scan on Monday and gender is irrelevant.
Had some great news from my family. My nephew and his partner have been trying for years to have a baby, she has mc 4 times. Had loads of tests which all came back negative for anything being wrong with her. Well got the good news yesterday, that she is due 17th June and all is fine at 12 week scan. I am so happy for them. I have not told them my good news, didn't want to rob them of their moment as they have been waiting for so long. But it will be great to swap baby news when I tell the family at Christmas.
Hope everyone is having a good day, I'm having a great day, no sickness feeling today, YIPPPEEEE Xmas Grin

emblosion · 09/12/2011 11:21

forgot to reply about finding out the sex at 20 week scan....I'd be happy with a suprise but DP really wants to find out, so I guess we'll have to argue it out before then, ha ha!

10000fireflies · 09/12/2011 11:49

Morning all

Just got back from scan so really elated to have seen the LO dancing about, waving and thumb sucking. Still have to wait for results from combined tests, but nuchal fold seemed ok. Ten days to go and then I'm happy to tell anyone who's interested!! Oh, and it's due earlier than doc said - Mumsnet calculator was closer - sonographer reckons 16th June, so am 12+6 today. That's another week done nearly!

Agree with pink that when we start a new thread we should get everyone to check in first before restarting the new role call. Not sure if we should be starting a new thread though until this one's nearly full as I'm sure it has a couple of weeks to go yet.

Defo want to know the gender at 20 week scan if poss. Is much better to know which colour to buy!!

Sorry to hear lots of you are still feeling pukey.

Good luck to emblosion (hope the mentalling calms down soon) and TDW for next week. Cheddar - will be waiting for your update!!

10000fireflies · 09/12/2011 11:52

Updated with my new date and have taken off the few who we have lost on the way already. Thinking of you all who're not on this journey any more with us. Xmas Sad

Thanks fireflies massive congrats on seeing your LO!

The wait til Tues is killing me, I am not the most patient of souls at the best of times, just want to wake up and it to be scan day! Am trying to keep the mentaling on the down-low as much as poss, its out of my hands I guess...

Warlin · 09/12/2011 13:02

Hi All

Great news on the scan fireflies such a relief.

I was in really bad form last night after hearing JJs news...think it was a shock and then got annoyed as DH didn't seem to get it. It just makes me realise how fragile the whole thing is.

dogwalker and kveta I'm keen to find out the sex but DH would rather wait. I'm the sort of person who likes to open Xmas pressies early....! Can't stand surprises, I'm jsut too impatient :) DH adament it's a girl and so are most of my friends. I'm secretly hoping it is as would love a little girl and girl clothes are so cute. Obviously I would love either (it's my first) and I really hope if I have a scan to find out I'm not disappointed as I would either. Just can't imagine having a boy inside me!

Good luck seriously, dying to hear your good news.

I agree the thread needs updated. I find it a bit upsetting that there are a few unlucky ones still on there but feel bad removing them...maybe a new thread in the new year is the way to go. At least then we will all be approaching 20 weeks and fingers crossed all will be ok.

Is anyone else getting really bad heartburn and headaches?

Florin · 09/12/2011 13:17

fireflies congratulations, great news
cheddar good luck will be keeping an eye out for your news.
Dh didn't want to find out the sex when we talked about it before I was pregnant but now he is desperate to find out so we will be finding out. I don't mind either way I just want to know as feel we can bond with baby more then and also so much easier buying things. I have my 20 week scan on 8 Feb that's if we don't Buckle and pay for a private gender scan before!
Hope everyone is having a good day, I am so pleased its Friday! Looking forward to the weekend however a little nervous too. Our best friends are coming to stay and last time we were excited as we were pregnant together (they were worried about telling me as we had taken so long to get pregnant and try didn't know our news until we saw them) we had a lovely weekend being excited about having our babies only a couple of weeks apart but they lost theirs shortly afterwards. Really nervous about unintentionally rubbing my pregnancy in their faces. Going to clear house of pregnancy scans and books that are all over downstairs before they arrive and try and keep off the subject. Just really don't want to upset them.

MammaInTheMaking · 09/12/2011 13:36

Hey everyone,

I'm more of a reader than a poster, but felt like saying hi. Was very upset to read JJ's news. It's completely gutting. I don't know whether there's any "worse" about it, but it feels like finding out at a scan when you think everything's ok is utterly shocking. When i MCed in the summer, i started bleeding very heavily and just knew there was no way a baby could survive it. Things were confirmed when i had a scan to check. Urgh, i'm waffling...i hope everyone else on the thread has happy and healthy pregnancies from here on.

The care i've received from my local NHS trust has been first class. I simply cannot fault a single bit of it. No sooner had I had my 12 week scan, did i receive a letter for my 20 week scan. It's on 19th Jan which is exactly 20 weeks so am very much looking forward to it.

I told my parents at the weekend. I was soooo incredibly nervous because in their eyes i'm still their 'baby' and it doesn't help being an only child! My dad shocked the hell out of he, he was HAPPY! Really really overjoyed. He even gave me a kiss and a hug when i left (very unlike him!). Mum was shocked but ok. She wasn't negative about it which was a real bonus. Every other 'big' thing i've told her has been received pretty badly. So i have to see this as progress.

Started telling close friends and colleagues too and some have said they were not surprised as i've developed a podge around the belly area!

Congratulations to everyone who have had happy news at their scans and i'll keep quietly looking out for those who're coming up in the next week or so :)

ceeej · 09/12/2011 15:06

Congratulations on your scan fireflies, I agree we should do a new stats list after xmas/when this thread runs out.

I wasn't too sure about finding out the sex initially but DH isn't good with surprises and wants to know, now we've started thinking about names I've changed my mind and decided I'd like to know. We'd be very happy with either but part of me thinks a boy would be a bit easier once they get to school age as girls can be so truly horrid to each other whereas at least boys just fight! Of course I imagine both will be both wonderful and challenging in their own little way.

Warlin no heartburn yet but I suffered from heartburn fairly regularly before getting pregnant so not holding out too much hope for that continuing.

Glad your parents were happy for you Mamma and excellent that your NHS care has been great so far, long may it continue.

My DH has developed a bit of an obsession with my belly, he keeps wanting to show people that there's a bump despite my protests that it's really just my fat sticking out. I'm pleased that he's so excited but it would be nice not to have attention drawn to my belly all the time!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 09/12/2011 17:11

Afternoon all!

I thought I'd posted earlier, but realised I'd abandoned my post half way through as I got distracted by making a necklace for my work Xmas party tonight! I really hate the way I can get distracted half way through something these days - it's very weird!

Anyway....

Had scan today and all is well. Only the one baby so if the old wives tale is anything to go by about the sex, my little one is very confused Grin

Nuchal looks good, will get blood test results at some point.

Baby was very energetic (took my friend's advice and downed a bottle of orange juice an hour before - not sure if that was the reason for the dance show but hey!). Was very uncooperative about positioning and I was poked and prodded continually for about 5 mins with the sonographer going 'come on baby, come on baby'! I was moved onto my left side for a bit, then back on my back and eventually in between the breakdance moves, sonographer got everything she needed. Midwife I saw after actually seemed strangely positive about my desire for a home birth so will be interesting to see what the consultant says at 20 weeks.

Now, most people will probably say that seeing their baby was the highlight of their appointment. I'm afraid I'm somewhat more selfish...the lovely, wonderful, awesome midwife said I no longer have to take the twice daily tutti frutti calcium / vit d tablets as I also take Pregnacare! She is absolutely my favourite person ever for freeing me of these things! Apparently, there was never any need for them since I take Pregnacare. Grrr. Oh, and seeing the baby was cool too Wink

EDD has been brought forward to 19 June from 22 so will re-post list next with my date changed.

Went to Tesco afterwards and purchased some leggings and oversized jumpers which will become my pseudo maternity wear as I can't be bothered to actually shop for maternity stuff!

Sorry I cant stop to name check everyone - have got to go have a bite to eat and then head to Xmas do; wonder if the not drinking will make people suspicious...ah well, they'll know next week anyway!

Have a great evening everyone!

ecstatica · 09/12/2011 18:11

Great news Seriously Strong Cheddar -- hope the party goes well.

Hope everyone is well, hopefully over weekend will say hello to everyone properly, am absolutely exhausted and looking forward to a lie in tomorrow :)
DH and MIL have already decided I'm having another boy from the scan pic Hmm -- apparently a replica of DS3. As much as I'd love a girl I feel very much like this is another son and will definitely be wanting to find out at 20wk scan.

Night all :)

emblosion · 09/12/2011 18:51

Hooray! Congrats Cheddar glad your scan went well - good tip about the Orange juice, i'll have to remember that for tuesday!

Twiglet100 · 09/12/2011 20:54

Congrats Chedder! Emblosion and TDW - hope the wait for your scans doesn't feel too long. Don't want to find out the sex of the baby - neither of us want to spoil the surprise!
