DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 12:50

ahhhh men!............that is all!

sevensevenseven · 18/11/2011 13:03

Whats up darcies?

ThePippy · 18/11/2011 13:22

Darcies if it helps, when I popped into Waitrose this morning I spotted they were selling meter long tunes of jaffa cakes!

ThePippy · 18/11/2011 13:22

that is tubes of course!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 13:23

Think DP has got PMT - we really argued last night :( all over a packet of biscuits he stropped and then I asked him to talk to me like an adult and he exploded in a rage (very rarely that happens) and he pushed me outta the way so he could go and calm down and apparently was all my fault in the first place! Then mum phoned earlier and asked if she could have DD overnight so I rang and asked DP what he wanted to do and he got attitude saying well I thought she was at home. Not I'd rather have her home to watch CIN if thats alright just got shirty and said thought she was at home and then denied that he had an attitude change! want to scream..............breathe!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 13:23

seven Thanks for asking. Are you alright?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 13:24

Pully Hope your scan goes alright.

Pippy Thanks :)

BeeMyBaby · 18/11/2011 13:32

I'm hoping for a weekend baby... DB and his GF went off to Canada on Wednesday for a couple of years so my childcare arrangements are now much more difficult and I will need to beg my eldest brother and SIL to look after DD (so needs to be the weekend as DB is not working then, and as SIL is 36 weeks pregnant and already has her own DD plus severe sickness she can't do it on her own during the week)... originally hoped that my mother would look after DD but she wants to come to the delivery which I'm happy with as she was great the first time, but now I am just super stressed about DD arrangements. Obviously I want DH at the delivery as well in case something goes wrong etc...

Basically, if not this weekend, then the next... or the next...

sevensevenseven · 18/11/2011 13:37

Fine thanks darcies. I've started on the big clean before DD arrives but everything takes so much longer when you're pregnant! Tidied DH's pile of crap post, magazines etc next to his chair and sorted out the dining room table (we use the back door instead of the front so it's the first thing inside the house where everything gets dumped). Feeling knackered now but need to Hoover before the speech therapist this afternoon.

AwomancalledHorse · 18/11/2011 14:00

Back from MW's...Squatter is engaged, and in the right position, everything is fine with me so we're all set for a home birth!! YAY.
Which means we're going to have the spend the weekend cleaning in time for the home visit next week, what's everyone else got planned?

Darcies, hope DP feels very sheepish and apologetic when you see him next. Is your mum going to be looking after DD when you go into labour?

Good luck at the scan Pully

Cheep, glad everything was ok!
Msbuggy & Cheep, I love discworld too, although haven't liked many of the newer books (think the last one I actually enjoyed was Thud!, haven't read Snuff yet), my favourites are any of the Watch ones (like Guards! Guards! & Feet of Clay). DH is a big scifi reader so we're going to have a geek child, will be upset if LO doesn't enjoy books!

sevensevenseven · 18/11/2011 14:09

Just realised I think I'm nesting!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 14:11

Seven I refuse to pick up after DP - I am not his mother and if he complains the place is untidy/messy then I can point out that its all his crap :)

AWCH That's good news about your home birth & Squatter being engaged.

DD will be going to a friends when I go into labour, as DD gets to spend time with her BFF. so shes happy. Mum will be surprised with a i'm not in labour call but we have a boy/girl call.

This weekend not sure what we're doing. Just watching CIN tonight.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 14:17

Seven You prob are nesting :)

msbuggywinkle · 18/11/2011 14:22

Snuff is brilliant thus far! I've loved the Tiffany Aching books too, I can't wait for the DDs to be old enough for them. I generally like the watch and the witches books best.

Mmmmcheese · 18/11/2011 14:45

Hi everyone, im also surprised we have only had one baby so far on this thread, especially with all the cramping, pressure and BHs that have been going on. Im now 35 weeks and 4 weeks and 3 days more pregnant than ive ever been! Feels like a miracle that ive got this far.

tyel i am probably being thick here but where does your name come from? Also cheep i cant access your profile for some reason so cant see your sons photos.

I just had a very productive meeting with my consultant. She read the notes from my previous delivery and i got an apology on behalf of the hospital for how badly my previous labour was managed (forceps with no pain relief and no episiotomy). She said no one should ever have to go through that level of pain and also that i should have got counselling afterwards. So the way forward for me is to have an early epidural as soon as i get to the hospital as im now so scared of/ mentally scarred by the pain i went through.

Also found out i failed my GTT so have to go to diabetic clinic and no more chocolate for me! Im not worried abiut it but not looking forward to all the finger pricking im going to have to do to check my blood sugars. Explains why baby is 7 lbs at 35 weeks though! They will either induce me or give me a c section at 39 weeks so whatever happens we will have our baby by christmas!

Mmmmcheese · 18/11/2011 15:00

DH is reading snuff and laughing out loud all the time! Its not my kind of thing. I like chicklit and the classics!

3rdOneComingUp · 18/11/2011 15:01
Anewstart · 18/11/2011 15:10

36 weeks today - very very active baby and she's almost 7lbs already! Goodness - my first so not sure what to expect but preparing as much as possible. It's so terrifying exciting!

AwomancalledHorse · 18/11/2011 15:16

Based on what you've said, I'll get DH Snuff for Christmas (one less present to buy), and then I'll steal it. Mwhaha.
He's finally told me some of what he wants for Christmas, a month after I started buying stuff. Thankfully most of what he wants I've already got him!

Cheese, glad to hear that your consultant was apologetic & that things are in place to avoid you going through anywhere near the same amount of pain. Nice to know you're deffo not going to be overdue!

Hello 3rdOneComingUp! Do you know what you're having?
Neglect them now! They'll forgive you by christmas Grin

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/11/2011 15:22

DD has come home from school very happy - she has been cast as Angel 4 in the school nativity Grin

mopsytop · 18/11/2011 15:24

How do you guys all know how much your baby weighs? I have no idea! All I get is a bump measurement (which has been bang my number of weeks on every time).

Mmmmcheese · 18/11/2011 15:38

Ive had scans every 2 weeks or so due to other complications. Most people wont know estimated weight.

mopsytop · 18/11/2011 15:40

Ah! I see!

PullyWoolOver · 18/11/2011 15:52

Finally heard from hospital and scan not til Monday which means a bit of worrying this weekend...but trying to be sensible and see it as a good thing that midwives aren't too concerned. At least this has finally spurred me on to finish the hospital bag!

Huge thanks for all your advice and support. I've been on my own today but didn't feel too alone thanks to this thread. It's so nice to know you're all out there somewhere being pregnant too Smile

tyel my entire family has called jumpers 'pullywoolovers' since forever so I can't take the credit I'm afraid! Can I ask what your name means? Always makes me think of something Spanish for some reason...might be the 'el' bit.

Also can't believe we haven't had anymore babies yet on the thread, it's getting exciting now isn't it. I bet once we start popping there'll be no stopping us!
