Good one Oi, our wedding album is still not done 2.5 years later ... Blush

cheeptrick · 16/11/2011 17:07

Pain getting worse. I'm beging to think i'm going into labour but its pro just in my head Sad

I dont cope with pain well.

lalababy · 16/11/2011 17:11

cheep Just start timing the contractions just to make sure it really is in your head!

I am terribly excited about getting the place Christmas ready, this is going to be our first "married" Xmas... (we got married start of this year... ), first Christmas in our own house (just bought the place in August) plus there will be a lil bubba (hopefully... I am due on 18 so it can go either way)

OI & mopsy I am planning to get my wedding album sorted when I go on maternity leave coz once the baby comes I reckon it will NEVER get done!

OiMissus · 16/11/2011 17:27

cheep the usual advice is to take paracetamol and have a bath, and then if you're still getting contractions, labour has probably started. Good luck!
I'll be incredibly Envy if you have started. I am soooooo ready now.

LittleMissFlustered · 16/11/2011 17:34

Today I picked up a crib. It needs a new mattress, but at £25 for a solid pine swinging job I am not complaining:o

Other than that, I have hoovered a bit, done some dishes and given the bathroom walls a dirty look or three. I might buy a couple of brushes and throw some paint at them.

Honey, thanks for that; I guess they (ergobabies) have come down in price, and also have become more available on eBay since I tried! I feel like a mug now...

hawthers, that's lovely news about the growth!

Oops! We've got a reindeer bodysuit as well! Blush And a red snowflake. And a red robin. It's additionally extraordinary, because all the aforementioned items (bar one, which was from a sale), were hand-me-downs!

The talk of decorations is getting me excited, too! I was thinking of doing it for the start of Advent, but that might be too late, so maybe it's time to start! With all the back pain and Braxton Hicks pains around, we certainly aren't going to be decorating with our usual efficiency. BY the way, I got a few nice new decorations from Lakeland this year, but am sending back the holly string as it's rather nasty and plasticky. The gingerbread house and advent calendar will, however, be staying!

We had a long walk in the park this afternoon, got cold and tired, and are now all warm in the kitchen with a fish-in-tomato-with-onion-and-garlic casserole in the oven, perfuming the place with tomatoey fish! Looking forward to a good hot shower and good sleep tonight! Smile

HoneyLovesCake · 16/11/2011 18:05

plu you're not a mug...they're about £90 retail online but I check ebay for EVERYTHING before buying & 9 times out of 10 you can get a bargain :)

LMF you just reminded me I need a moses basket mattress....will this spending never end Confused

msbuggywinkle · 16/11/2011 18:07

Having done sod all today, I'm off out to home birth group this evening! I love going.

I'm worrying about a friend though, I mentioned she has placenta previa, is due in three weeks and had her older 3 at home? Well, she had the scan today to see if her placenta has moved enough and has been out of contact since...I'm worried that they have insisted on a c section today, she really was very worried about it. It would be fine if she had time to get used to the idea, but she suffers from awful depression.

cheep how is it going?

Xiaoxiong · 16/11/2011 18:25

Ok I have just ordered the last last last purchases - a TENS machine and a moss green moby wrap. Oh and how did those baby leg warmers sneak in there...now that is really IT. Now to concentrate on cleaning, applying for my UK passport, and hypnobirthing/epi-no.

It would help if I had gotten a good night's sleep last night - but after two broken nights I am zonked. Slept on the couch from 2-4 and haven't been out of the house once...I think DH is bit worried about me, as he suggested he make burgers for dinner. It really is just my hips - nearly 2 extra stone has to be putting extra weight on my joints when I lie on my side, and I wake myself up trying to turn over.

Talked to DH about christmas decorations - he suggested having the boys in his tutor group to do it to give them a little party before he goes on paternity leave. Now I just need to think of ways to keep six 14 year olds interested! I guess if we get a tree, ornaments, mince pies, wrapping paper and glue next weekend, they can hang the ornaments, do the lights and make paper chains - cutting it very fine near my due date but unless I am actively in labour that day it should be ok, and I'm so impatient I'll probably go overdue anyway. Anyway all suggestions on amusing teenage boys with Christmas crafts welcome!!

msbuggywinkle · 16/11/2011 18:31

Woo! She just rang and her cervix is clear!!! I'm so happy for her!

aethelfleda · 16/11/2011 19:09

Yay, msbuggy, that's great news! (I wa so relieved when they said mine had moved, it was like thinking "hey, normal service is resumed". She will hopefully have a great evening now.

LOL at the "last" purchases, tyel, I keep saying the same then wandering towards ebay....

Haven't thought about Christmas enough: as Widget is due on 27th we may well not have him here by Christmas.oh well...

LittleMissFlustered · 16/11/2011 19:22

I hate Christmas, so am not overly bothered. We'll have a tree and stuff, but there will be no gubbins hanging off my ceiling, no sodding keys for Santa and no other such crap:o

KateM77 · 16/11/2011 19:56

I've had quite a productive day and now have about half my Christmas present shopping done. Feeling absolutely exhausted now, but going to attempt to do some wrapping tonight. Not sure how I'll cope with the bending over though. The pains in my side are back, and I think they may be little feet scrabbling their way down Confused

I love Christmas and love putting up the decorations, but have no idea when they'll get put up. Due date is 10th Dec, which is probably about when we'd normally get the tree so we'll just have to play it by ear depending on when baby arrives. Feeling quite relaxed about it though because I have all the decorations, and have already bought baby's first Christmas bauble :)

OiMissus · 16/11/2011 20:00

Ooh you've just reminded me... Normally me n my nephew get together before Christmas to make presents for his parents and the grandparents. It had completely slipped my mind this year. He's 12, so not quite too old yet. Hmmm will have to get a thinking cap on...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/11/2011 20:03

Cheep How you doing?

MsBuggy good news for your friend Smile

We love Christmas in this house. Tree & Decs go up first weekend in Dec. We're round the in-laws for Xmas dinner & round my parents for boxing day. Baby has nice xmas babygro and DD has a nice new red dress for the day.

Finished my handover at work so officially on Maternity Leave today Smile and Sad at the same time, as I live my job and will find it difficult to adjust not coming into work everyday.
MW was happy today and said my tightenings seems to increase each time so shouldn't be long. HV also been so got baby's red book so just waiting for baby now Grin now time to put my feet up and try to get rid of this heartburn.

KateM77 · 16/11/2011 20:58

Aaagh! I'm incredibly irritated. Got all my Christmas presents and paper out ready to start wrapping and then discovered that DH has found a new home for the sellotape. He's out so I texted to ask where he'd put it, and got the helpful reply "Dunno, sorry" Angry It's not like one roll has been used and put down somewhere - I had two rolls in one particular kitchen drawer and they've both disappeared. Have searched the house and can't find it! He's going to face the wrath of an angry pregnant woman when he gets home.

Hmm, this all seems a bit trivial now I've written it down Blush

NorthernChinchilla · 16/11/2011 21:16

Nope, the 'moving of objects from their home' habit of OHs is truly frustrating. I searched for ages for the kitchen scissors (and guess where they live?) and eventually found them on the floor of the dining room, under a chair next to the chinchilla cage.

So it was a total sod trying to pick them up as well.

Owing to the arrival of junior we'll be doing our first- and probably last- ever Xmas at home. As our parents (and two of OH's three siblings) live within a few miles of each other we always go there, as it's at the other end of the country.

Will have little tree and a few decorations, and roaring fire.

OH has insisted on ordering a duck- I have pointed out that seeing as we'll be wrangling a 13 day old baby we'll do well to manage a sandwich, but I guess a boy's got to dream Hmm!

sevensevenseven · 16/11/2011 22:22

Sorry to those suffering from lack of sleep.

hawthers great news on the scan! I've got my next growth scan next week. Incidentally tomorrow is the point at which I was admitted to hospital with pre-eclampsia last time.

We love Christmas, in fact I'm feeling a bit festive already. We'll be trimming up on the 6th or 7th December, depending on circumstances.

We're having our chimney inspected tomorrow afternoon, we know the people we bought the house from never had a fire so we've no idea when the chimney was last used. With any luck I'll be toasting marshmallows on an open fire tomorrow night!

kri5ty · 17/11/2011 00:34

How are you cheep?
oi what combination of codeine etc u taking?

Grumble alert......

Not been posting on here that often as all I seem to do is grumble and I don't want to, but I am now lol

Cant sleep again, have physio at half 7 in the morning, collapsed from exhaustion yesterday, fed up of the pressure on bladder/ bowels can't walk more than 5 minutes its too painful... feel like I'm constipated even though I'm not, getting awful pains that take my breath away. And I can't drive because of spd

Grumble grumble moany Kristy

cheeptrick · 17/11/2011 07:42

Morning

I'm fine - i took OI advice and had painkillers, a warm bath and went to bed early. I had the pains for a few hours but then they went so must be BH. I always think they will get worse and turn into labour as thats what happened with my first so i'm a bit parinoid about it now Blush

DH was very sweet last night and even read the hypno book, looked after son and put him to bed, then sat in bathroom talking to me when i had bath and snuggled in bed till son wake up shouting for his dad, so he had to go back in son's room.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/11/2011 07:49

Morning Ladies,

Kri5ty sorry to see your still suffering. hopefully not much longer and you can be pain free.

Cheep I was like that in Sunday so know the feeling. hopefully today you'll have a better day.

As for OHs moving stuff, I have one here too! The only time I'm heading out today is on the school run other than that I'll be indoors wrapping presents & eating mince pies Grin

jomouse · 17/11/2011 08:03

Hello bumpy ones.
Sorry to hear you're in pain Kri5ty, don't worry about complaining. If you can't share the load here with all us lot, where can you? We get it and understand :)
I have kind of opted out of Xmas this year. Will totally be doing decorations and tree but as for gifts and cards, forget it! Only bothering with my Ma as she will be staying with us and as I am an only childI like some element of fuss still to be made. I think my DH would opt out totally if I let him.
We have a family funeral tomorrow which is making me sad...
BUT reasons to be cheerful

  • Midwife appointment this morning, I find they are getting exciting now!
  • Ocado delivery (tragic, but always feels like a treat)
  • Epi no delivered

Hope you all have lovely days x

mopsytop · 17/11/2011 08:33

We have some decorations and fairy lights but no tree (no room in our little house really). Our first Christmas on our own too, but seeing as baby due that day it seems safer!

Horrible horrible night, lots of pain and not much sleep :( Horrible lower back cramps and lots of stitches in my side, which I presume are round ligament pains but which are getting worse and really painful. Feeling fairly grumpy now! I very much sympathise Kri5ty!

jomouse · 17/11/2011 08:47

Just remembered a very bizarre dream in which I had a lesbian affair with Caitlin Moran and she helped me breast feed. How very strange...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/11/2011 09:20

jomouse That is a bizarre dream!

I've done the school run and now booked Baby & I onto a baby massage course in January :)

Time for a cuppa, some breakfast and then present wrapping.
