mumyzoe hope all is ok.

Thanks all for you best wishes re gastro - just about recovered now just a little sore :(. Now found out I've been in contact with someone with slapped cheek syndrome so it's back off to the hospital for a blood test. Hopefully being as far along as I am it's not an issue (also hoping I've got immunity). Unfortunately does mean that I'm going to have to miss the next nct class - don't want to put anyone at risk just in case. Oh well - it's not as if I really need to know about the 2nd stage of labour Wink

ghosteditor · 08/11/2011 12:52

hmm, now there's the question! I'm using a Windows 7 so it's a pretty new interface, and it's for outlook, but I just about figured out how to do it in this version - go to file - options - advanced - send/receive - and then hit 'schedule send/receive every x minutes' (you can fiddle with the timing). The emails should just sit in your outbox until the auto send/receive, or until you do a manual send/receive, instead of going immediately. V useful for tinkering with wording/rethinking arsey emails etc! Not all interfaces will have this option but the last few versions of Outlook do, I think.

ghosteditor · 08/11/2011 12:55

eek, trubble, you are 'in the wars' as my folks used to say. Keeping fx for you, and good call on the NCT class. If it's any help, my yoga instructor does classes which involve a 45 minute discussion about birth issues, and we just did second stage a couple of weeks ago. Don't tell anyone Wink, but you can download some class notes here which you might find interesting/informative.

Hiya all,

Sorry to hear fo further troubles, sleepless nights, painful Higgs bosuns and unhappy feelings, this 3rd trimester is soo hard isn't it?

Has anyone heard from MZ? I'm a bit worried now that she hasn't said anything since last night. Anyone know her outside of here?

I have hit a wall too, feel so stressy, simply did not want to talk to dd this morning and she was doing my head in just because she was here-she wasn't doing anything naughty or annoying really just being 4. asking me every second if I liked her colouring in and everytime i said yes, but she just kept repeating herself! I really had to stop myself from snapping just because i'm so moody today. Then I trapped her skin when I zipped up her school skirt and made her cry. She was crying and saying I want daddy (she always does that whenever one of us upsets or accidently hurts her-asks for the other one) and I'm afraid i did snap then. "Whats daddy going to do to that I can't-anyway he's gone to work" I'm a horrid mummy, I should have just given her a cuddle. Mental hormonal woman.

cest la vie.

miamama09 · 08/11/2011 13:54

fish know the feeling. Last night I was doing the food shop with DD and tried to lift her as best I could into the trolley seat - impossible when preggers - but of course she didn't put her feet in correctly, and I couldn't hold her anymore, so she had one leg in and one leg out and was stuck, so started screaming the whole of Tesco down! took a further 5mins to get her re-adjusted! then it was all 'I want dadddy' cries. Blush

know what you mean about mummyzoe - let us know how you are as soon as you can! very worrying... hope she's ok and in hospital getting the care she needs

miamama09 · 08/11/2011 13:57

PS - thanks for the list suggestions :). I think I will put mainly clothes/outfits, maybe some crib and cot bedding (as DDs is all pink and girly), then possibly a sling - but worried this might look a bit expensive and wishful thinking... Maybe some baby toiletries, photo albums as suggested... Already got bouncy chair etc from last time.

mummyzoe2012 · 08/11/2011 15:12

hiya all, feeling a lot better today. anyone had a diabietise test that came back neg but have all the syptoms of it? im drinking juice/water for england.
getting a little stressed still so taking it easy good job ive finnished work now for 13 months. can do things at my time. anyone else getting a sharp stabbing pain on a night in the lower part of the tummy?

fishandlilacs · 08/11/2011 15:28

Hiya MZ-you had me worried-glad youre ok x

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 16:32

Mia - photo albums is a good one, but also how about a new overnight bag? That's the present I'm most hoping to get (after a sling) because I don;t really have one and it would be useful for hospital bag stuff and onwards. Luggage ought to be something non-mummy types can get their heads around!

I really really want to set up a FB group for us all so we can stay in touch even if we don;t have time for MN once the bubbas are here - would be nice to see all the baby pics, too. I'm going to set one up and if anybody wants an invitation then send me a PM and I'll sort it out :-)

Yup - set the group up now. Completely hidden and secret, so you'll only find it if invited and none of your other FB friends will know, I know some of you were concerned about in-laws and suchlike :)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 16:37

Oh yes - meant to say - saw my friend and her little boy today - who was born naturally at THIRTY FOUR WEEKS!!! He had to go under a heat and anti-jaundice lamp for a week, but was otherwise fine. Anyone else here totally not ready for a 34 week arrival???

miamama09 · 08/11/2011 16:40

makescakes good idea re the FB thing! I'm in! and thanks for the suggestions, hadn't thought of a hospital bag... must add that to one of my many lists!

baby at 34 weeks, scary! some of you lot will be there in a couple of weeks, I sooooo wouldn't be ready for that!
Do you think there may be a pre-2012 baby from this thread??

ghosteditor · 08/11/2011 16:57

I am so in :D

34 weeks... [trembles]...

fx that everyone here makes it to a safe and healthy due date!

trubble · 08/11/2011 17:04

arghhhh 34 weeks - yipes that would be scary - I'm still at work then!!!
Still got 4 and a bit weeks to go until I finish.

fishandlilacs · 08/11/2011 17:04

grrrr-trying to find a maternity bra in my size is proving impossible. I am a 44h or 46i depending on who measures me!

fishandlilacs · 08/11/2011 17:05

me too trubble-really don't want that to happen.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 17:07

fish - Bravissimo no good? I was v happy with the interim bra they fitted me for and must drag my sorry behind into Oxford at some point to get some maternity ones... except how do you know what size your boobs will be once the milk comes in? One of my friends went up 4 cup sizes in about 2 days!

fishandlilacs · 08/11/2011 17:10

bravissimo don't do my back size

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 17:18

The rotten toads. Strongly worded letter?

ps - check your Fb :)

shonnomanom · 08/11/2011 17:53

Ah 34weeks is in 2 weeks! Saying that my friend just had her boy at 35 weeks. 7lbs, had to go to icu for oxygen for the first few hours but is fine.
I want to go before my due date but only if its healthy iykwim

I'm in for the fb group, will send you my details when I'm on the computer tonight ok

Sad another red arrows pilot has died. Sad

Oeisha · 08/11/2011 18:36

mia how's about gift vouchers form M&S or John Lewis or something? That way you can spend on LO as and when you find something. My default pressie is a "taggies" blanket thing, available allover really, or a photoalbum and memory box (there's a lovely boutique in my town that does them).

trubble eek indeed! hope you get the all clear.

ghost Sad

mz glad you're ok. Can't say I'm getting that pain, but it could be the way LO's lying?

Erh, time to make dinner. TTYL

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 19:03

Oh no ghost - I just heard that myself. Any news on what happened yet?

ParsleyLion1 · 08/11/2011 19:22

I thought I saw something about that earlier Sad

Just got back from my trip to Luxembourg. Fell asleep for half hour as felt so poo. Luckily had booked myself a docs appt this evening as felt crappy yesterday. Have UTI and thrush which explains it I think. Just downing the antibiotics now. I hope amoxicillin works it didn't last time I had a pre pregnancy UTI.

Yes i'm up for fb. I'll ping my details. Smile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 19:35

Hi all - doing my best to message and add you all, but not always sure if I have the right one, so if you haven't had a friend invite from me please let me know as I'm losing track! lol

redheadbedhead · 08/11/2011 19:50

evening everyone
hope you're all doing alright.

I'm so in for the facebook group - I'm on that much more than MN so I'd be a more regular face!

mia what numpties that they can't even work out something nice to buy for a pregnant woman!! there's so much stuff out there for women giving birth! I won't get any mat leave pressies from my schools, I'm too much of a shadow...I just slip in, do my teaching, and slip out. So many of the teachers are bitchy and moany at my schools I tend to avoid most of them! And I'm only in one day a week at each of them anyway. Wouldn't expect anything.

Speaking of presents and suchlike, who's thinking of having a baby shower, or at least some kind of gathering before popping? I hate the idea of everyone coming round just to bring presents, but would quite like to have a little get together at my house before being incarcerated! My friend had one and specifically said to everyone "DON'T give me any presents, just bring yourselves" - so I went along, took some homemade cupcakes as a compromise and thought that would be fine, even excessive. EXCEPT..... when I turned up, EVERYONE had brought a present apart from me!!!!! And not small presents either, proper baby clothes, towels, books etc! I was so embarrassed Blush I decided right there not to have one, because blatantly the same thing would happen to one of my friends.

So now I don't know what to do because I don't want people to think I'm inviting them round to get presents, but it would be nice to see people beforehand!
