Thanks guys. Will have to plan my outfit as going straight from work & then back to work.

Caught sight of myself in a mirror at work today. Oh dear. Def looking as if carrying a bun in the oven. I may be imagining it but am sure I caught a few people staring last week. Just not noticed the bump myself until DH referred to it...... Am def in denial about this whole thing!!!!

Good luck this week with scans and getting over MS.

musicalmrs · 08/11/2011 06:52

Hi all!

LittleSarah, I think we must be scan twins! Not only was my 12 week scan yesterday, but they've also booked in my 20week for 4th Jan, and I was also moved on two days! How weird...

Scan went well - lovely to actually see a baby (rather than a blob with a heartbeat yesterday!). DH is enjoying showing the pictures to everyone he knows :)

cupcake and LittleSarah, I also don't enjoy being the centre of attention. I haven't had to tell many people in "real life" other than family, but I anticipate having to tell a lot this week as I tell all the schools I work in. Urgh!

With the date change, I'll be 14 weeks on Sunday - 2nd trimester approaches, yay!

MeconiumHappens · 08/11/2011 10:56

Hello May babies (and mummies!),
Just wondering if I can jump aboard also. Baby MH is due 2nd May :)
Our first, very excited. The first few weeks seemed to go so slow, now its seems to be racing along, 15 weeks tomorrow!

chocolatesparkle · 08/11/2011 11:09

Amazing that no-one on our thread so far has found out that they're having twins (as far as i have noticed).

Good luck to the last few still awaiting 12 week scans.

Bring on the energy of the 2nd trimester...and please allow me to enjoy eating something other that white toast and butter....it can't be healthy but even the thought of propper meals makes me feel sick!

MandaHugNKiss · 08/11/2011 11:48

chocsparkles white toast and butter isn't that bad... at least it's not a diet of pringles and boiled sweets! (not me, but some women have to resort to that kinda thing). We do what we can to get through the sickness so don't worry over it too much. I'm sure you'll be scoffing lots of cake healthy stuff once you're feeling better

Wrt to the new list, I think it's a little brutal to start a new one considering so many of us have felt far too ropey in the first tri to post regularly (and/or partial denial, epecially for those with losses). It doesn't really hurt anyone to see a longer list with names that haven't posted in a while, but it may hurt a hormonal, irrational poster to discover that they've been bumped off already for not posting a lot.

Definitely, a slimmed down list of those that are around regularly as time goes on but I just reckon it's a little early yet. Of course, majority rules and I won't mind adding my name again if I need to Smile

Had my booking appointment today (they've changed the notes since even the beginning of the year - much sturdier now, but surely more expensive. Odd, when cuts seem to be the order of the day) scan tomorrow. EEEEK! At least I know I'm not carrying twins - scans at 7+4 and 8+4 confirmed a singleton

So tired.

LimeFlower · 08/11/2011 12:11

Morning ladies:)
Manda how the heck you know what I was eating???.
With all of you so far ahead I'll be "just" 12 weeks on Thursday
As for the list-the more the merrier.Honestly, not always there's anything to write, sometimes you might just not feel like it or not feel too well, sometimes too knackered,no time, different reasons.I'm opting for earlier list but if majority decides otherwise let it be then.
Good luck for those still awaiting scans, off to scoff something from the fridge(not pringles):)

oltob · 08/11/2011 13:32

hello, is there room for a not-so-little one?
I've been lurking for a while but as this pregnancy is becoming every more real, and bump increasingly obvious, thought about time to say hello. I'm 14+2, this will be my second, DD turned two in August. Definitely starting to feel the benefits of the second trimester.
Nearly forgot am due 6th May.

Yorky · 08/11/2011 16:12

Feel like poo - just getting over blurgh feeling from this child and the older ones decide to give me their tummy bug so if anything I'm eating less than I was a month ago :(

Just wish they weren't so keen on climbing all over me atm

Glad to hear lots of happy scan stories

Will be back when I'm in a better mood

(I know we're supposed to be using dates by scan but if the LO is going to be 11days late like DS2 then I'll stick to my original date to buy a bit more time before they start pushing to induce)
DC all asleep now so I can feel sorry for myself MN in peace now!
Will ask DH about Macs when he gets in Cairn, he hearts his!

Does anyone have any 'mother's instinct' about whether they're carrying a boy or a girl? With DD I was convinced she was a girl (as I lifted her out of the water I said to DH'told you it was a pink one!') but with the boys I had no strong feelings either way - so I'm wondering if this is another boy
How many are planning to find out gender and how many are waiting for a surprise? We've never found out before but seriously tempted this time

2nd May (or 28th April by scan) - Harecare #3

14th May - Montymum, #1
15th May - heidihole, #1
15th May - musicalmrs, #1
16th May - cupcakefairy, #2

yorky I know I should just be wanting this baby to be healthy, but all I can wonder is whether it's a boy or a girl. We have 2 girls, so of course a boy is on order, but I do think 3 girls would be pretty good. I dreamt last night that at the 20 week scan I was told it was almost definitely a girl, but there was this niggle of doubt. My DD1 was really upset and hoped it was a boy with just a really small willy! I was sure both DDs were boys, and I feel this one is too, so I guess it must be a girl!
In reality DD1 still doesn't know about the baby, but I am definitely starting to show. I'm 15 weeks and just yesterday I felt a bit bumpy, now it seems obvious. I've got a big party this Friday and am planning on still keeping it a secret - I don't know why exactly as I've told far less close friends who I see on school runs, choir, playgroup etc, maybe it's because DPs family still don't know. My Mum and one of my sisters know, but I doubt my Dad does or any of my other siblings - my Mum is brilliant with secrets.

pelvic floor exercises now

Basse · 08/11/2011 19:45

Hello ladies

Can I join you please? Had my scan yesterday-I am 12 weeks and baby looked well, it was sucking its thumb throughout the scan! :) 1st baby, due 21 May. Now waiting to be told by Friday whether blood test comes back with anything worrying - so time is dragging until then!
Do any of you suffer from constipation? I've never experienced it before, and it is so awful! Angry Just bought Fybogel, prunes, ginger tea...any other good things to drink/eat recommendation? I already eat loads & loads of fibres so that won't solve it!! Thanks all.

cairnterrier · 08/11/2011 19:48

Basse - prune and pear juice are really good for constipation.

LimeFlower · 08/11/2011 19:51

I don't know whether we will find out gender or not.Haven't spoken to DP yet about it.Judging from my food cravings and my gut feeling I think I might be team blue but I'm not going to set my mind on it.

Basse · 08/11/2011 20:02

cairnterrier-thank you-I just ate a dried prune and felt like throwing up so will see if the juice works!

dreamingofanallotment · 08/11/2011 20:14

2nd May (or 28th April by scan) - Harecare #3
4th May (or 30th April!) - Yorky, #4
8th May - Dreaming #1
11th May - Cairnterrier, #2
14th May - Montymum, #1
15th May - heidihole, #1
15th May - musicalmrs, #1
16th May - cupcakefairy, #2

Hi Basse, glad you found us from the other thread!

Cairnterrier - my DH says # is Alt + 3 on a mac. Hope that works!

I've got a feeling that baby is a girl - think that may just be because I would like a girl that I can sew dresses and pretty things for :) DH reckons it's a boy because he's read his 'pregnancy for blokes' book and seen some stuff about sperm and when you're apparently supposed to conceive boys and girls around ovulation! I'll be happy with a girl or a boy though, I'll be mega happy whatever!

Oooh Limeflower, what food cravings are making you think you're having a boy?!

Hope you're feeling better Yorky.

I'm definitely showing now. My bump seems to have changed shape over the past few days - I think it's less bloat and more actual bump now, it's definitely harder. And definitely much harder to hide at work! All my colleagues know but the parents (I work in a school) don't know yet. Any tips for good ways to hide it?! I've been going for chunky cardis and long scarves at the moment!

LimeFlower · 08/11/2011 20:50

dreaming
crisps-I haven't bought any yesterday but was nearly drooling over shelf of pringles in the shop
cucumbers-fresh,sour and gherkins
cheese-hard and creamy
fish-any fish,mackerel,cod,salmon-just name it,smoked,tinned,poached
salami
fruit-grapes,grapefruit,pears
garlic bread

Nothing sweet,DP tried to feed me with some chocolates, wasn't too ethusiastic about it.
So far 2 of my friends (both with kids) commented on my specific food intake and 3rd person is my MN inmate from the other thread. All three said the same "BOY".

My bump is playing seek and hide with me at the moment-one day is there, next day is gone.Haven't got a clue which trousers should I wear to work tomorrow.Make up your mind you're little brat!
Funny thing when I had my scan yesterday, the baby was jumping so much that the sonographer said"what an unruly, unsettled creature".Oops, here comes trouble!
I've got a pic of the baby on my computer, looking at it all the time.Funny like not even 12 weeks(I was 11+4) yesterday I can see eye, nose, and lip.Strangely enough it seems to have the same stubborn look as my DPGrin
I'll try to put the pic on my profile just now.

musicalmrs - we are strangely in sync with our scans and stuff so far (or as my dd would say 'in the sink'), perhaps if you're late and I'm early we will give birth on the same day too! Or is that a long shot? Wink

Yorky - I am wondering a lot about the sex. Dh thinks it is a boy again but that is because he thinks - semi seriously - he is genetically programmed to have boys (to do with lots of boys in his family tree)(my dd is from previous relationship). I have never had a gut feeling, with dd nobody was sure but weirdly with ds everyone was sure it was a boy, except me. I felt rubbish when I had ds and not too bad with dd, as I have felt rubbish this time maybe that means another boy? But then there are many reasons for feeling differently, not least age! After all that rambling I am going to lean towards boy but thinking I might try and find out for sure at 20 weeks.

LittleSarah · 08/11/2011 21:10

Oh, welcome to Basse, due on the same day as me!

musicalmrs · 08/11/2011 21:21

Just updating my date - forgot to do so after yesterday's scan:

8th May - Dreaming #1

21st May - littlesarah, #3

LittleSarah, might be a bit of a long shot, but will be interesting! :)

Has anyone tried the nub theory out with their 12wk scan photos? Both DH and I tried it with our three photos - we both came up with a girl for one, but DH thinks boy with another. I'm now thinking girl.. which probably means it's a boy! Really not bothered either way though :)

Re finding out the gender, we're not sure. I think DH really wants to find out - he doesn't like surprises - so maybe we will.

I'm definitely showing, and I know where my uterus is in comparison to squished other bits - as in, the top of my stomach is definitely squished things, if you know what I mean! Varying in size a bit day to day, and struggling with clothes - I have maternity jeans, but only one pair of maternity work trousers, and my other work trousers are either too tight, or too big without a belt!

So, 14 weeks on Sunday. Hoping this supposedly lovely second trimester kicks in soon. Have been more and more nauseous - today it was at its worst when I put a reed in my mouth to start playing! Considering I was giving an oboe lesson at the time... not good! May have to lay off the playing in lessons for a bit...

Also have found out I'm off up North early next week, for a family funeral. I live in Essex. My bladder isn't behaving at the best of times. Could be interesting...

LimeFlower · 08/11/2011 21:28

Pic on the profile if anyone wants to have a look. What's this nub theory and how it works?
musical you're lucky to have 3 pics of yours.I have just one(the one I put on my profile) that is very good, the rest of them was just shapeless blob, they couldn't take a pic to measure the nuchal pad.
