yay! marking my spot now! thanks for the new thread!

LittleSarah · 02/11/2011 17:14

Hello all, great new thread title miko!

Dorris - So sorry to hear your bad news, nine weeks was when my mmc occurred, it is awful.

Oh jeez, wish my scan would hurry up, just have no idea how it will go, bloody paranoid.

Still having symptoms anyway, feeling sick still, tired still and my bladder is behaving pathetically. Up about half an hour after I go to bed, then middle of the night, then first thing, not as bad as third trimester but still frustrating. Esp when I've probably only had half a cup of juice in the evening!

Went to my first antenatal yoga class yesterday, it was lovely, but felt a bit silly as everyone else was far further on. Oh well.

Hello limeflower , welcome! As you can see I know how you feel, fingers crossed for us both, well us all!

Hello too to gingerlemontea! Hope all is well with you and you get your scan date soon, if not, phone and nag!

Hello to everyone else, hope all is well, sorry not to respond more today but really must make tea for the bairns.

musicalmrs · 02/11/2011 17:24

Evening all - lovely new thread!

Antenatal yoga sounds good LittleSarah, would you recommend it?

My bladder is also behaving pathetically. Yesterday I had to work at a school where they didn't give me a security card (even though they were supposed to issue me with a permanent one in Sept), so I couldn't use the security-locked toilets - so had to survive from about 7.30 until 12 without a loo - was NOT fun!

Also struggling with sleep at the moment... and I'm also getting quite a bit of achey pain in my 'bump' (which I now know isn't 100% bloating, just a bit - hurrah!). Guessing/hoping it's everything shifting and stretching. Scan on Monday still seems miles away!

dreamingofanallotment · 02/11/2011 17:56

Wooo for new thread, great title!

Antenatal yoga sounds great LittleSarah (I have the same question as musicalmrs, is it good?!) - I'm currently hunting for an antenatal pilates class as the NCT antenatal yoga/pilates class run in my town is on a Friday at 1.30pm...not much good for those of us that work full time!

Well after my scan this week, I've finally come clean to all my work colleagues, so have had a very squealy, smiley few days. I'm so glad to have finally spilled the beans! I've told my brothers and my grandma this week too...they were very excited! Told my brothers by asking them if they fancied being known as uncle next year - there was an amusing pause as the penny dropped!!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far :)

GingerLemonTea · 02/11/2011 17:56

Got scan date through today! 15th Nov so not long to wait!

mythical · 02/11/2011 18:05

should we get a new list started or copy the old one?

LittleSarah · 02/11/2011 18:08

Woo hoo gingerlemontea!

Dreaming and musical - I've always loved antenatal yoga, hence already starting again. This class is quite gentle with a really nice meditation/relaxation bit at beginning/end which is really lovely. The moves are fairly simple but still feel like you are doing stuff to help back/pelvis, etc. After this class everyone has a cup of tea and a biscuit (had a similar thing with dd) and a chat so it feels quite intimate and friendly.

musical - Poor you with no toilet access! I am in and out all the time! I'm sure the ache is just things moving about, but I know I am always wondering what every twinge is now.

Dreaming - How fun to be telling everyone! Lovely to be able to share the news. I hope you find a pilates class. My yoga is during the day (but I only work part-time from home!) but I think you are allowed to ask for time off for some such classes.... but I guess most employees don't want to annoy their work quite that much!

cairnterrier · 02/11/2011 18:39

Hi everyone

loving the second thread title! Glad to hear that people are starting to feel a bit better. No real news here other than the bloating appears to be abating a bit and there's a teeny tiny proper baby bump underneath :)

Still hanging on for my scan on Friday. Can't wait to see how DS reacts, he was singularly unimpressed by hearing the heartbeat.

Mikocat · 02/11/2011 19:45

Hello ladies!

LittleSarah - I'm starting antenatal yoga this weekend too, really looking forward to it - although I'll have to buy some loose-waisted trousers from somewhere or I'll have to go in my pyjama bottoms.

dreamingofanallotment - I gave my brother Ben a packet of Uncle Ben's rice, that confused him for a few seconds! :)

DialMforMummy · 02/11/2011 20:21

Re- pelvis floor exercises,I am thinking I should be doing them. I made the decision after a big sneeze today Blush

Harecare · 02/11/2011 22:56

Pelvic floor. Doing it now!
Good idea to do yoga or something. I was wondering if I was too early to start, we're weirdly still not especially telling people about being pregnant. Is that weird? Is anyone else still keeping it a secret? I'm 14 weeks now.
I did active birth classes before which included yoga as well as factual stuff. I might try pilates this time.
Dreaming - I am now on an allotment waiting list! In 3 years I may well be near the top! Thank you for making me think of it while I was in front of a computer.

mythical · 02/11/2011 23:14

if anyone is a size 12 and needs a maternity coat this is a steal! asos

Yorky · 03/11/2011 06:32

I haven't done yoga since we moved out of Cambridgeshire when DS1 was 6months old, went to a lovely place in St Ives but haven't found anywhere as good in all the places we've been since, must try and remember to ask my MW when I next see her in a couple of weeks if she knows of any good ones here - she's already told me they used to do aquanatal at the local leisure centre but don't any more! Thanks!

Great new thread title! For me there is definitely less of the throwing. Not sure how glowing I feel just yet?? Although several people have commented on he shininess of my hair in the last few days...

Help needed anyone! Got a terrible toothache, may not see dentist until early next week and that's too long for me to contemplate putting up with this! Any tips - have tried the clove oil, no success.

Also if the dentist can't take x-rays, how do they work out which tooth needs work??? Worried she'll do something to the wrong tooth. Pleases, someone, calm my irrational fears.

My scan is tomorrow, counting the hours, all nervous after there being so many sad stories on here. Has made me realise how common it is to not see the first trimester through.

Mikocat · 03/11/2011 10:31

Harecare the place I'm going to won't take you before 14 weeks, which I am now. It's a place called The Yoga Space in Leeds, for anyone who might be nearby.

I've noticed a definite improvement in my energy levels lately, although I'm still pretty tired. Mostly due to the STUPID restless legs at night. Angry

Failsafe · 03/11/2011 12:16

welcome gingerlemontea

I have noticed im feeling a little less tired this week, but have had quite achey hips.

Anyone else on bump patrol, I think i'm driving my DH bonkers with "Do you think i've got a little bump coming, it doesn't look like bloating anymore...just here look!"

cupcakefairy · 03/11/2011 13:27

Hi ladies lovely new thread :)
Maybe we should start a new list to make sure we are all up to date.

musical It's totally normal to get some aches and pains around pelvis/bump area... but obviously if it gets very frequent or more than just uncomfortable you should see a doctor. Otherwise it's just that joyful stretching and growing Grin

harecare We've told a few people but I've seen loads of friends over the last few days I just couldn't be bothered to tell Blush that sounds awful but it's mainly cos I hate how it instantly makes me centre of attention & everyone wants to ask questions...I might just wait til I have more of a bump! I don't think it's weird to wait longer...it means you'll have less time of people wanting to touch your tummy or ask what you're having Grin

Welcome to ginger and huge condolences to Dorris I'm so sorry :(

Urgh, ds just been woken by mad barking dog on the street Angry there goes my peaceful lunchtime!

cupcakefairy · 03/11/2011 13:28

New list-

16th May - cupcakefairy, #2

I've put the date first so we can see more easily who's due the same day etc :) Hospital put my due date as 9th but I'm keeping it as 16th cos I know when I ovulated, and I went so overdue with ds!

UpTheOldDuff · 03/11/2011 14:37

Hi all! My scan yesterday showed a healthy and very long looking baby! My son is very tall for his age also, so I've decided to start my own basketball team!!! Grin

The hospital have brought forward my due date by 6 days but I am SO certain of my dates, that I know they're wrong and that it's just a big baby in there!!! My son was 9lb and big bubba's run in my family so it's highly likely that we're going down that road again!!!!!

Was constantly checking for the gender all the way through and was thinking that it must be a girl until I suddenly saw something that made me think otherwise! Wink Who knows?! I guess we'll find out in December!!!

I feel okay - bit of sickness here and there and an achey back/hips/legs, but on the whole I don't feel too shabby. My first pregnancy had me with my head in the carsey every five minutes, haha! Everyone knows that the 2nd trimester is as good as gets with regards to pregnancy, so lets get ready and enjoy!!! Grin

Also, I am so sorry for all those who have had losses. Lots of love to you all and I hope you're being taken care of.....x

Mikocat · 03/11/2011 14:44

A Screening Midwife from the hospital called me this lunchtime to say that my Down's Syndrome Risk has been categorised as high and they need to see me to discuss next steps.

I'm totally in shock because the measurement on Monday was 1.8, so I was convinced that it was all going to be fine when the blood test results came back :-(

Now hanging on for my appointment at 4 p.m. Rang DH in tears from the shops, where I was out on my lunchbreak from work. Poor wretch is coming to meet me from work and take me down there.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me everyone, I feel a bit like I'm being punished for 'going public' so early :-(

HeidiHole · 03/11/2011 15:27

Oh mikocat fingers crossed for you. I hope it's all ok. I'm sure it's a good sign that the measurement part was low risk.

I had my 12 week scan today and everything looks good. So lovely to see it waving, and kicking me and rolling about!

Sickness is subsiding but still present... It can bugger off when it likes though I'm fed up of it!

LittleSarah · 03/11/2011 17:05

Hi all

Felt really rubbish today, tired and sick and just awful. Still on the home stretch with the kids, dinner, bath and then they'll be abed! Dh works late tonight so just have to power through alone.

Cupcake - Snap on the centre of attention thing! I don't know why but it makes me a little embarrassed, I just want people to know without my having to tell them.

Miko - So sorry to hear about your results but it may not mean anything. What is often classed as high is sometimes not really that high IYKWIM, just high compared to some. I hope your appointment went well.

Heidi - Glad to hear about your good scan, great news!

myweeangel - Sorry I can't help about your tooth, good luck with it though, and good luck for your scan tomorrow.

Okay, I've decided I won't add my name to new list until after scan on Monday just in case, but hopefully I will then.

Hello to everyone I missed!

montymum · 03/11/2011 19:32

I didn't really join the first thread as after 3 mc I wanted to wait until my
12 week scan which I had last Friday and all is looking good. Would love to join this new thread, have been watching the last one with tears of joy and sadness. My sickness seems to have stopped this week but have fainted twice since Tuesday and have had some terrible headaches so might need to get that checked out.

Harecare · 03/11/2011 21:09

Montymum Welcome!!!! Glad your sickness has stopped, but the fainting doesn't sound fun, I'd definitely get that checked out.
DD1 was talking about a friend who has a baby brother so I asked if she'd like one in theory. "Yes" was the reply, what about a baby sister "I've got one of those already". Oh, well, maybe me and Daddy had better try not to have a baby then as you wouldn't be able to choose if it was a boy or a girl...

musicalmrs · 04/11/2011 00:07

Miko, fingers crossed the appointment went well. When they say 'high' it's not necessarily really really high, just higher than they'd like! Hoping you're ok.

Fainting doesn't sound good monty.. you should mention it to someone.

cupcake, the aches are quite frequent, and it's quite uncomfortable, but I think it's because everything's being squished, and I'm quite small! Looking forward to properly popping out, and hopefully having a bit more space for a bit. Doesn't help that I'm sitting down lots of the day (teaching), so.. we'll see! Need to phone the midwife anyway, to enquire about a message she left me, so may mention it.
