Kayano how's your leg??? What did the dr say about it? Hope your not in as much pain now!

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 02/11/2011 04:35

Good luck monkey Grin sending you clever vibes Grin
Thanks all who said my so called friends are jealous. I am just enjoying winding then up now & just talk to my bump instead of them, lol.
I'm glad I kept almost everything from my first 2 dc as I have had hardly anything to buy. I have 2 Moses baskets (1 for my living room & 1 for my mums), a crib & a cotbed so just had to replace mattresses. I have brought all my boy stuff here from my mums now & am washing & folding away like a loon.
Well I should probably try & get more sleep but I am hungry, I don't seem that hungry all day then get the munchies during the night, must up daily intake of grub!

babycarmen · 02/11/2011 08:31

louby Sorry you got the dreaded SPD :( Thats exactly how mine feels its just horrible, walking downhill is a nightmare as is lying flat on my back and getting up again, when its really sore i feel like im paralysed when i try to move its ugh, not nice! The joys of pregnancy!! Hope the pain settles for you!

I kept nothing from when i had DD, and the stuff i did keep i got rid of this time last year, then a few months later we decided to start trying - handy! Ive got some clothes which will come in handy with this one being a girl too. And some cot sheets but other then that im pretty much starting again, We got a second hand moses basket but its not in the best condition so might just get a new one or look out for a better second hand one, will see! Came with a stand so at least we wont have to buy that. The in laws are supposed to be buying our cot but DPs relationship with them (esp his mother) is rocky to say the least and they stay 3 hours away so ive only really seen them a handful of times so we might end up buying our own if that falls through!

26+2

deardear · 02/11/2011 09:36

thanks - we went up last night with a friends metal detector but not sure it was powerful enough as its only a kids one. have got someone on it though. i know roughly the areas it was lost in. we are tipping the muck out of the stables in a separate area so we can scan that again if needs be.

managed to go all night without getting up for a pee but boy it was painful this morning! was quite glad LO sleeps nearly all night (or at least i think he does!) an didnt play football with my bladder at 7am or i could have been in a mess lol.

started to get little BH contractions as well. trying to put the birth out of my mind. can remember the last time even though it was nearly 12 years ago. i really want another birth like that (but on delivery suite please) but toying with the idea of staying at home.

i hadnt heard anything back from work yesterday about my annual leave so have basically done the calculator thing on directgov and told them when i want to finish but have said they are proposed dates. cant see them changing though so hopefully come christmas i wont be working for nearly 14 months! yippeeeee!

m1nn1em0u5e · 02/11/2011 10:10

Does anybody else find it impossible to contact their Midwife?....Its driving me mad!

deardear · 02/11/2011 11:46

I havent tried to contact MW. usually just call in at the doctors if i have a problem. hope everything is ok m1nn1e?

phlossie · 02/11/2011 13:06

Hello! Blimey - I can't believe how many posts there are on here already! Thanks for setting the thread up, Bill.

Anyone else completely losing their spatial awareness? I just did a comedy fall over by standing with one foot on DS's skateboard! And I've totally scraped the side of my car and ripped off the wing mirror. Oops.

I'm planning on staying at home for the birth, deardear. I got to the hospital 45 minutes before DD was born, so there wasn't much point in going at all really. My aim is to avoid staying on the yukky, boiling hot post-natal ward with it's grumpy midwives and babies that keep each other awake!

Baby is very active. It's starting to do the alien moving around thing - DH and I watched it for ages yesterday (distraction from arguing about mortgages).

I get stuff second hand where possible. I have a cot, crib, pushchairs etc and loads of clothes for boy or girl. I just need a new cot mattress because DD used to have spectacular nose bleeds and the mattress looks awful!

EsmeWeatherwax · 02/11/2011 14:18

Hiya ladies, good to catch up again...I wondered where you had all got too!

Second hand definitely the way to go with baby stuff, esp. prams/cots etc. Have to admit I've got a huge amount of second hand clothes for this one, couldn't bear to start from new again, it costs so much! And they are in newborn things for such a short time. Have bought some new bits and bobs too, but nothing like as much as i did for the girls! Lol, so does anybody want any girls clothes? I have a loft full to get rid of...and a couple of prams Blush

Louby sympathy on the SPD, it's starting to get worse for me too, much worse this time than the previous two. It really makes it so hard to sleep doesn't it? My hips ache after an hour lying in one position, then I have to turn over, which is a performance and a half!

Minniemouse its impossible to contact midwives. I always laugh when they give you their alledged number...it never works! Hope you are ok though.

Can I join the facebook group? My profile is here

Currently I am having a dilemma over car seats, the three I have are a really tight fit in the back of my car, which is a zafira, so don't know whether to go for new seats or a new car. Trouble is dd2 is in a kiddifix guardian pro, cos she just monkeys out of normal seat straps and it's really wide, makes it a real squash to get the other two in. Sigh...

phlossie · 02/11/2011 14:57

I've just added you on fb, Esme. I think we're going to get a new car - an MPV so that we can take extra children on the school run/grandparents etc. I have a Saab 9-5 (which I keep pranging) and we're going to struggle to get 3 across the back.

EsmeWeatherwax · 02/11/2011 16:44

Thanks phlossie well, don't get a zafira is my advice, lol, I'd love an s-max but slightly above budget unfortunately!

melliebobs · 02/11/2011 16:59

hi everyone just got a quick question. At my booking appointment they said if there's any change in pattern to movement to ring up and get checked out. OK that's fine. But from what stage in pregnancy do you start monitoring movement and for what period of time do you sit and monitor yourself though before hassling midwives?! Proper confused, 24+3 today and get movement in the morning, after i've been stood up for a while and then sit down and at the end of the day/evening. But i couldn't say i get X amount of movement in an hour. If you see what i mean?! It's just that i'm full of a cold and noticed lil Pip even though having had a bit of a fidget this morning, there's been very little else today that i've noticed. I don't want to go getting a bee in my bonnet and go stress myself ringing up the midwives for them to say well it's still really early RE movement etc and its only something to note later down the line IYSWIM?

On a better note all Pips bedroom furniture should be turning up tommorow. I say should be, Tutti Bambini tried to deliver it on the 3rd October when I was on holiday Hmm instead of 3rd November. After reading everyone's posts about new and second hand stuff I feel a bit embarrassed now at how much we spent! lol Cos it's our first we've probably gone over board on the cot/wardrobe/chest of draws/changing table etc. But ah well there will be other pips down the line and they can inherit it!

EsmeWeatherwax · 02/11/2011 17:13

mellie I tend to find I don't get much movement during the day unless I am actually sitting thinking about it, most times too busy to notice. Usually get more movement when eating, and if you want to provoke a kick fest, then cold Orange juice/coke/water usually helps.

Horses for courses with the spending thing, lol, if you've got the cash, go for it, just saying its ok to buy second hand if you don't have it, or do.'t want to send it, Haha, suspect if I saw your nursery I'd be green with envy! I've never managed to get the kids room looking the way I'd like!

EsmeWeatherwax · 02/11/2011 17:15

Oh my, sorry about that post, on phone! Don't want to spend it, was what I was trying to say.

deardear · 02/11/2011 17:17

that link i posted earlier for the nursery stuff on ebay is nearly all mothercare stuff! am watching a couple of cots and going to buy one hopefully tomorrow.

had a letter waiting for me at work this morning off the finance bloke. congratulating me on my good news and setting out what i am entitled to - basically what i have been telling them for the last 2 weeks! arrrrrggghhhhhh! i am just going to do my letter and whack it in and stuff them. very peed off with it now as just want it sorted. i dont mind being flexible and going in for a couple of days in january but FFS wish they would pull their bloody fingers out and just say ok.

frustrating. on a more positive note they are doing a bit of kirsty allsopp in the office and knocking walls out to make one huge office to get 3 of us in so we can all work together. still think they were pants for getting the CEO to ring me at 7pm on a sunday night while i am on holiday and scaring me shitless.

rant over. off to work in the pub now which is far more sociable than office work!

babycarmen · 02/11/2011 17:31

Mellie If youre concerned then just phone, who cares if it turns out to be nothing at least it will put your mind at ease, I read somewhere you should look out for changes in movement from 20 weeks+ i remember being a bit Hmm because not everyone even feels movement by then.

I didnt have to get my flu jab because my bp was really low and i pretty much passed out when i was there so i have to go back next week. Yay. Hmm Ive been getting hot flushes today and my back is killing me :(

m1nn1em0u5e · 02/11/2011 18:14

Hi all, im not too bad, just keep having these really dizzy, hot, flustered, light headed episodes, not bad enough to go to labour ward, but wanted some advice, however I have been in for bloods & BP checked this afternoon, BP ok, they think its Anaemia. Oh & baby is breech! Still time to turn though, so im not worried...yet!

Melliebobs, we spent a small fortune on mamas & papas nursery furniture for ds1 & re-used it for ds2, it was beautiful & still looked like new when we sold it to a couple who were adopting!..then we decided to have another!..lol My Mum & Dad have offered to buy us a new cot, & I have to admit I have bought all new again for this little man, kind of thinking that he is my last baby, so im having what I like, although we are not spending anything like we did on nursery furniture!..I would have loved an icandy, but they really are expensive, & my sister in law has the one I would have liked, so would feel a bit like a copy cat!..We have gone for the Quinny buzz in rocking black with carry cot & car seat, can't wait to see my little man all snug in it!..However I do agree, you hardly use lots of the baby stuff we bought first time round!..so second hand is probably wise.

phlossie · 02/11/2011 18:17

My baby is more active in the evenings and the mornings, but it occasionally has 24-36hours where I don't feel it kick much, which panics me. But I think it might be the whole anterior placenta thing.

Saying that, I think that from now (24 weeks) if you have worries about changes in movements you should speak to someone because 1) baby's viable so something could be done if there was a problem, and 2) the movements are starting to get bigger and more definite.

25+3

Crazybit · 02/11/2011 18:23

Waves...just marking my spot :)

QueenFee · 02/11/2011 18:38

www.countthekicks.me/HowToCounttheKicks/FAQs/tabid/65/Default.aspx

Really worth reading the info on this website re movements. They say third trem. I would think it would be difficult before then.

A cold drink and something sweet usually gets them going too :)

Had a busy day today speach therapy with ds1 and then hosp appointment for me this afternoon re my thyroid which was a complete waste of time as I knew it would be. And its a half hour drive to the hosp grrr
I have hardly sat down all day and as a result my spd has flared up. I hate the way it feels like my legs are detatched from my body :(

hermionejgranger · 02/11/2011 21:25

Hope you ladies with SPD are feeling a bit more comfortable now. I'm having a bit of back pain and hip pain and today my ribs ache but otherwise I think I've been quite lucky - bloomin' restless legs doing my HEAD in though.
Fee thanks for the link - have had a brief look at the thread for the campaign that keeps popping up in "pregnancy" and think I'm going to print off the tick sheet.
I think I've managed to put together a list of who's who on the FB group (yay) and I've added my scan pics but I've put them in the album - hope that's ok with everyone. :)

24+6...48 days left at work!

louby86 · 02/11/2011 22:24

Hello everyone! Had a much less painful day today thank goodness, wasn't sure how I was going to cope for the next 15 weeks with how bad it felt yesterday.

There's a really good kick counter on the baby bump app that I've looked at, it says to start using week 28 I think.

We've finally got our nursery furniture together, I got a bit pfb Blush without realising and got a set from mamas and papas but it better last for the next babies we have because I won't be buying anymore! Got our Moses basket and a jumperoo off SIL now my lovely nephew is reaching 8 months.

Hope everyone is ok! Everyone that's posted pictures on Facebook have such adorable children, I hope mine turn out that way (fingers crossed Smile )

Kayano · 02/11/2011 22:26

I've just downloaded a song called 'small bump' by ed sheeran and it has freaked me out
Lol

Go and listen to if February bus peeps

littlemonkeybix · 02/11/2011 22:44

Well I am now tucked up in bed with a snoring DP, and a belly full of pip and chinese.

Grin

So glad to be home, and glad to have got that exam done!! Fingers crossed I pass... Pass mark was 16/25 and in the mock, I got top of the class with 20/25 [swatty emoticon]... So I'm hopeful... But won't hold my breath. I was bottom of the class for BOTH homeworks!

Anyway, the other 5 candidates were all at least 2 grades above me, so I feel like I've done well just holding my own in there!

Sleepytime beckons... Thanks for all of your good wishes. Will have a proper catch up tmw (in work of courseWink)

Night all x

louby86 · 02/11/2011 22:47

littlemonkeybix · 02/11/2011 22:51
