Going to do my birth plan today after all this talk of them, it will be very simple, I'm having an elcs:
DO NOT cut me open until you have checked the epidural has worked coz if you do I will hunt you down & slice you open with no painrelief!!!
Other than that just skin to skin & baby to breast ASAP Grin
Remembering last time is starting to make me poo my pants a little & now I know why it has taken me 6 years to take the plunge again Sad but I get a bubba at the end so grin & bear it Grin x

Xavielli · 05/11/2011 10:53

Ugh phlossie I'd forgotten about the dreaded piles! Mine tend to be worse at the end of preg rather than after birth. Speaking of which I think Fred might be on his way back... Boo!

Monkey - ignore them! They are free to remove you if they don't like what you write.

Getting costumes sorted for the ugly bug firework party tonight. Is there such a thing as a preggo fly cos at the moment that's what I'll be attending as!

DP got up with DD this morning before he went to work so i got to sleep til 9. And im STILL realllly tired :( I dont know whats wrong with me lately ive got no energy and just want to sleep 24/7. Also, everywhere i look all i see is mess and its stressing me out! Maybe its the nesting kicking in but all i want to do is clean but i physically cant do everything with my SPD and its just making me feel like a failure. (And dramatic, clearly)

Siiiiigh. I just want my energy back please!!

Haha sorry if you first timers are getting scared, i do wish id been more informed about those things though! I also agree with the cabbage leaves - life saver.

Thanks xavielli... Thing is, I'm not one for FBing about it all... It comes out on here mainly. My profile pic hasn't been pip for ages!! Probably cos I hate certain people snooping, but kind of tied to them now due to work etc!!

Anyway, today I am generally just feeling like a bag of plop, and "D"P has just bawled at me for not putting the washing liquid and fabric conditioner away?!!! I've still got 3 piles of washing to do!! Nob!

Needless to say, I feel a bit better for having a cry into my towel in the bathroom like a big girl's blouse

Roll on tonight's fireworks party, hosted by me and DP... Hmm usually love all this stuff, DP being a nob has left me a bit empty!

littlemonkeybix · 05/11/2011 12:11

Oh yeah, 22+5 and clearly hormonal...

babycarmen · 05/11/2011 14:21

monkey I laughed reading that because it sounds SO familiar! Your "D"P sounds like my "D"P. Aren't they lovely? He always pretends to be the tidy one when its me who actually does all the cleaning and tidying up, and apparently its impossible for him to take a mug through to the kitchen when hes finished even though its like 5 feet away and he goes through it every 2 mins to have a bloody fag outside!!! Just put him on a hormonal guilt trip Grin Hope you have a good party tonight!

Im staying well away from fireworks tonight, will take DD into the garden to watch them outside but i wont be going to the actual display. Im so paranoid about it making me go into labour or something and the baby going like a wild horse when it hears the bangs.. Just me being silly but DP is working and i dont fancy going alone anyway.

deardear · 05/11/2011 16:06

well i am officially depressed. been shopping today in birmingham. arrived at 945 and just got home. knackered so taking a cup of tea to bed for a bit.

went to get DD2 a dress for a dinner dance and she came back with 2 for £27 so bargains there. one cost £7 from House of Fraser in the sale.

me on the other hand. nope - nothing. where are all these maternity clothes in the shops for gods sake? dont just put them on websites where we cant try then put some in the shops. even the bullring was a let down. DD1 didnt help matters moaning she hadnt got any money to buy anything. well she gets £40 per month for buying stuff for herself from us and was told if she had spent it tough. got to the point while waiting in the Yo Sushi! queue where i told her unless she shut up she could walk back to the train and take herself home as i wasnt standing for it any longer. I got a bit emotional for the first time as well and welled up a bit i was that cross. we hadnt gone for her - we had gone for me and DD2.

hope we havent scared newbies off. its different for everyone and everyones pain threshold is different. what i would say is though be careful about 2 weeks after baby arrives as thats when you will find you will need the most help and get the most down. if you are too tired for visitors tell them not to come.

CoffeeOne · 05/11/2011 16:28

I feel rather sick after reading the last couple of pages Shock Confused
I used to be a nursery nurse so always thought I knew all the ins and outs of baby care, obviously not!

melliebobs · 05/11/2011 16:44

this first timer is preferring the frank honesty! Me and my mum have an odd relationship so don't see her talking to me about this kind of stuff. And my only friend that has had a baby had a EMCS but she did tell me of her horror of when her milk came in and how her husband loved how big her boobs had got but she couldn't let her anywhere near him and spent a few days sat on the sofa with frozen peas in a tea towel on them!

Speaking of me and mums odd relationship, she came round earlier to look at Pips room cos she got us the cot/mattress and she said "when i go into labour she doesn't want to know until its out" Shock i just kept me gobshut and her reason was "well there's nothing I can do about it". Well i guess there isn't but even so. When she went DH got told that I don't care if its 2 in the morning she's getting a phone call. More out of sheer stubbornness and to make a point than anything else now! Then in the next breath she was asking what I want for xmas and i said there's nothing i particularly want or need maybe the odd DVD or whatever. Then i was talking about changing bags and what a needless expense they are (i was just going to go to the skate shop down the road to get a cool messenger bag) and she's offered to get me a posh designer one if i want one. Thanks mum! So now looking at lovely bags, but the mind really does boggle with her!

littlemonkeybix · 05/11/2011 18:11

deardear I was having the same trouble, NOTHING physically in the shops!! That's why I have been extra pissed off at m"care".

Good luck, and hope you do get some gear soon!!

I had a fab hot bath before, mega bubbles and girls things Grin almost ready for my guests!! 630 start time... Huuuungry! Got cottage pie, roast carrots and parsnips, peas... And cake and custard for afters!!

Hope everyone has a good evening x

melliebobs · 05/11/2011 18:19

deardear it's the same where I live. 3 large next stores (2 on out of town retail park) and none have them have maternity stuff out. New look had one kind of poor quality feeling jeans and some badly sloganed t shirts and peacocks had a couple of jumpers. It's just bloody rubbish!

i envy your bath monkey we don't have one at our house :-( enjoy your night! We are off to a organised display down the road and I've got cottage pie for tea when I get in with green beans :) yum yum Just need some bonfire toffee/lollies but haven't seen any anywhere!!!!

Sugar80 · 05/11/2011 19:16

I love fireworks, but am spending the evening in with all the curtains drawn and the telly up loud.... as we've spent the last eight bonfire nights, due to one of the dogs becoming a nervous wreck at the first bang :( It was much worse when we were in the city - she wouldn't go out after dark for two weeks.

On the plus side, I have cake :o

babycarmen · 05/11/2011 19:33

I tried to take DD into the garden to watch the fireworks but she was too 'scared' and now shes shouting out the window at the to stop because theyll annoy her when shes trying to sleep Grin she does make me giggle, she also gave baby a cuddle and asked if she was scared, then she started moaning that the fireworks will scare Tilly (grannys cat who died) because shes up in the clouds.. awh!

Waiting for DDs bedtime (8pm) then i have an hour to myself before DP comes home to make a big mug of hot chocolate and devour a packet of Hobnobs. Grin

deardear · 05/11/2011 19:41

i think we are all hitting major hormones lol. its nice to have somewhere to moan though with like minded souls. just starting to hit home now that i am getting bigger and can no longer fit into some of my clothes and there is nothign apart from leggings and drap T shirts to take over for the next 15 weeks. I am taking my skinny jeans into hospital and i am going to pour myself into them to come out - thank god for the dough bellys after you have had a baby that will bend into any shape.

Xavielli · 05/11/2011 20:09

Not just me with the hormones then, I bloody hate everyone and everything today!!!!!

phlossie · 05/11/2011 20:15

Ha ha deardear - yup, I could tuck my dough belly into the waistband of my jeans!

We've just been to a brilliant fireworks display - there was a barbeque, face-painting, teacups ride, bouncy castle and 'magic' show as well as amazing fireworks. i'm shattered now and just realised that I hadn't dried my swimming costume out for work tomorrow. Actually, I need a new one because the bum's nearly see-through (not a good look).

mmmmm, hot chocolate and hobnobs.... yummy.

woowa · 05/11/2011 21:58

Oh no, my feet are hurting. I wondered when that would start. Boo hiss. Last time I got plantas fascitis in my feet towards the end and only ever wore my walking boots as everything else ACHED. I have a nasty feeling that it's starting even earlier this time, and I might need to sit down more already. sob. 3rd trimester starts for me on tuesday so I guess i'm about to:

  • start feeling much more hormonal
  • get much heavier
  • start nesting
  • be even more tired than I am now
  • have more and more people commenting on bump, possible gender, position of it, etc. yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

But it does mean only 12 weeks max from having the baby. Although i'm starting to recall how painful labour was...

Glad that some of this baby talk IS helping firsttimers, honestlym just keep in mind that no-one knows how to do it to start with, we all make mistakes, we have a gene which helps us work it out relatively quickly, in the way that best suits OUR family needs (not our parents, inlaws or anyone elses families!), and accept all help that people offer (although i could never fathom why people thought i might want them to take baby round block for a walk to give me a rest, since i couldn't face being more than about 1 metre from this precious bundle!). And you will get poo, wee and sick all over your bed/ clothes/sofas/ carpet/hair/ carseats, it all washes off, so don't worry!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 05/11/2011 22:48

Right, I am now officially pissed off. I was working last weekend, and I'm working next weekend. DD is off at her GPs for a sleepover and I thought I might have a nice relaxing weekend and if I wasn't feeling too nauseated that DH and I might actually get out for dinner (can't remember the last time we did that). And I've got some bloody viral illness again. My throat and ears are killing me and the nausea was awful earlier.

When do I get to enjoy the pregnancy bit?! I'm never doing this again, I want to enjoy it a wee bit. Sad

hermionejgranger · 06/11/2011 07:33

Agree with the hormonal-ness! We were at a fireworks display last night with my brother and my niece and they had music from Disney films while the fireworks were happening. And it was all lovely, singing along and going "ooh" and "aah" at the appropriate moments, until...Circle of Life from The Lion King came on. Singing along nicely until the line about "despair and hope..." and then...WATERWORKS. It was dark and I pretended I had to get something from my bag and have a drink so I don't think anyone noticed, but still - the embarrassment! My niece is totally fascinated with the bump though - cuddles and kisses it all the time - it's really funny :) she talks to bert as well which is really cute (she's 7). I hope hope HOPE that either her mother or her father has told her something believable about how bert got into auntie hermione's tum because I'm dreading her asking me "the question" and I don't want to tell her something that is at odds with what her parents have told her, IYSWIM...

Sharing ice cream, cake and chocolate for all us hormone-ridden wenches Grin

Oh Wicket you're having a really rough time of it aren't you :( maybe you'll have an amzing birth or a super good baby to make up for it! Hope you feel better soon Thanks

I'm actually feeling better than I have in a long time. Almost me again (apart from the sex drive, see pregnancy thread!). We've nearly finished the nursery and like mellie I get all emotional when I'm in there. Hurry up February!

I feel like im in the first trimester again, feel rubbish, hormones are flying everywhere, ive just about lost my voice from shouting at everyone and just to make things even better ive been getting BHs for the last hour which are taking my breath away and i think i pulled a muscle in my right side by my ribs the other day, its aching and seems to be getting worse.

I have cookie dough brownie mix in the cupboard and im not afraid to use it!

Amazingly I feel a bit less hormonal today... Thanks to cake for brekkie, a pastie for lunch, a pizza in the oven now (greedy) and a curry later!!

Really wishing all those feeling shit a better day Smile

I've had a shifty hip for a week... Well inner groin really, feels like a pulled tendon Sad

Hoping resting it will settle it. It really buggered up travelling home from Birmingham on Weds.

DP got 1 kick the other nnight...really pleased as he's not had any before Grin and this morning I got a double kick!! It came out both sides! Hahaha, either a star jump or a full toe and finger poke outwards!!

Right, pizza tiime Wink

Kayano · 06/11/2011 17:16

I came back from my weekend away with DM and mil to find that DH and fil had totally finished decorating my bedroom! It is now a haven of relaxing tranquility!

Baby's room next! Grin I'm over the moon!

littlemonkeybix · 06/11/2011 17:37

Hahaha, can I borrow them kayano?!

What a lovely surprise Grin

glowfrog · 06/11/2011 18:00

monkey, don't make me drool. I seem to have started something of a moody phase and craving lots of naughty stuff like pizza, chips etc. Fat and carbs, basically. :(

Pasta carbonara tonight, which is going to be naughty indeed, but in the meantime can I stop myself from having cheese on toast??
