Well, if you've had enough, you've had enough!! At the end of the day you've got to be happy. Yes, breast us best blah blah, but he's like 18 weeks it something isn't he? I totally gave up at 11 and I thought I'd done fab!
You've got to enjoy being a mum, and yes that does mean being selfish sometimes and having some time for you. Yes you're a mum, but you're also a wife, and a person who had a life before baby, which is one of the reasons we are moving back home, we don't get any time out, and new years eve made us realise you've got to still make time for yourselves :)
What does nick think?

KLou111 · 02/02/2012 16:21

Oh forgot to say, there's a 'teacher' in the pool getting us to do different things :)

OP posts:
Iwish · 02/02/2012 16:56

He will be 20 weeks on Sunday klou eek!!
Nick is not bothered, he's happy with whatever I choose. Although I don't think he will ever understand why it's a hard decision. He will probably enjoy getting to feed him the odd time too.
I would love to go to a proper lesson with him but I don't think there is any near here, especially on a Saturday when nick is off.

The recipes are good in the gona ford book by the way. Did you stick to the day plan. Eg fruit purée at 11 and rice at 6pm etc?

KLou111 · 02/02/2012 17:04

Yeah stuck to it until now, now I've kinda skipped from 6-7 months, and gone straight to 7 cos we started Euan so early. He's obviously not doing finger foods yet. Thinking about giving him jacket spud and beans for tea :)

They call the swimming water babies here, might be something on the net near you. They do Thursday and Sat here :)

Remember, make the right decision for YOU, not guidelines etc etc. Blimey 20 weeks already!!!

Jacket spud and beans, success Grin
Well, its the first time giving Euan anything different to rice in the evening, so fingers crossed he sleeps ok Hmm

Our garden looks freakin massive now it's all dug over. Can't get over it. Gutted it's for someone else. We've done this twice now, our last house was done but the garden needed doing, we had 1/3 acre and was a right mess (pics on fb if you're that interested lol!) We did our drive and patio then left it for a couple of years as Rob was landscaping at the time so didn't want to do it on weekends aswell. Anyway we finally did it, and it was easier than he thought, then we moved the following year!
Gutted aswell cos no doubt we will have a postage stamp of a garden next, just when we actually need it!!!

Iwish · 02/02/2012 20:10

I think I will stick to the days and meals suggested too. Did you give the food then milk or milk then food?
Wow spud and beans! How much did he eat?

I'll have a look for water babies, it sounds so much more interesting than just being in the pool.

What are you doing to the garden? Relaying grass? Ours needs digging out and starting again. Our garden is clay and the drainage is crap so it's always waterlogged apart from in summer.

KLou111 · 02/02/2012 20:33

He had milk then food, but now he just has 3 milk feeds, and 3 meals, the only time he has milk and food together is breaky, and then I give him half hour after milk :)
He does 8am milk, 8.30 cereal, 11.30/45 lunch and juice, 2.30pm snack if needed (banana), 3 milk, 5.30 tea, 6.30 bath, milk, bed.
He prob had 1/3 spud (I did 1/2) and 2 tbsp beans part mushed :)

Had garden flattened as all different levels, and just generally a mess, so now a gradual incline. We (Rob) chopped a load of trees down 18 months ago and most the stumps out today too :) Going to chuck a load of grass seed down, looks great just as mud so will look even better once grassed!

Iwish · 02/02/2012 21:02

Sorry for so many questions but did you just give him half of his feed? Then filled him up on rice. Joshua would scream if I took my boob away lol. Grin
Oooh bet it will look fab when you have finished. Wish we could afford to have ours done.
Bloody hell I'm crying at corrie!!

KLou111 · 02/02/2012 21:15

No he had his full milk, then topped up after with rice :)
Only cost £230 for digger man and seed will be about £40 so not too bad. We want to gravel all the paths and drive though, and ringing around, its so expensive unless you buy the local stone. Here its grey, me thinks not! How dull, we want a goldy one to lift it and brighten it up a bit. Hopefully worth the extra if it gets it sold :)

Iwish · 03/02/2012 05:53

So pissed off!!! It's almost 6:00am and I've had a hour and a half sleep!!! Joshua just keep friggin whingin

KLou111 · 03/02/2012 09:45

Aw, sorry iwish :(
I know I keep banging on about it, but I would try a bit if rice at 11, can't hurt. Euan only woke once after I gave that to him and eventually went through :) I always made it quite thick like semolina or custard consistency.

OP posts:
Iwish · 03/02/2012 10:53

I think he's sick again. Been vouching sneezing and snotting all night, he has a temp of 37.6. He was so good the 3 nights before, only waking for a quick feed around 3/4am.
I really wanted to hold off on the food till he's 6 months old. :(

KLou111 · 03/02/2012 12:02

Aw bless him. I found nurofen better than calpol if you have that. Can only use it for 24 hours though which is a pain!

OP posts:
Iwish · 03/02/2012 16:21

I might need to try nurofen klou because the calpol didn't seem to work last night. He's shattered today but wouldnt sleep until half a hour ago! He keeps coughing too bless him.

KLou111 · 03/02/2012 18:09

Poor little man :(

Euan puked on me yesterday, proper stinking puke like ours, not baby puke, but seemed ok.

Well, just tried lentil and carrot soup, FAIL! Officially is not a veggie lol! He had lamb hotpot for lunch and loved it! Had to quickly just do him some rice.

evening all, well seems like most of our littlies are not good! violet has been sick this evening, about 5. i fetched her from nursery at 3.40 amd she cried and cried and cried. couldnt work out what was wrong so calpoled her, and she still cried, didnt want tea, so gave her a warm bath, she cried and cried!! i took her into her room to fetch sleepsuit and vest and she was sick, all down me, all down her, all over the rug, everywhere!!! absoloutly loadds!!! i offered her a bottle and she calmed down and nodded off, then chris came in with his big gob and woke her, so i took her into her room and put her in her bed to see if she would calm down and sleep, and she went to sleep sucking her thumb. shes very unselttled tho and keeps waking cryingSad

iwish hope you get some sleep tonightSad

klou is euan any better now?

KLou111 · 03/02/2012 19:28

Ah bless em all, something in the air!

Yeah, Euan ok, he wasn't ill sick, but thought he was going to be cos it wasn't just normal baby sick. Turns out I lifted him out the bath tonight, and he just did the same, then giggled about it!! Don't think he's ill.
Think am going to start putting him to bed a bit earlier. Now I've swapped his last feeds back around from bottle at 5.30, rice after bath to the other way round, tea at 5.30, bottle after bath, he's being fussy on the bottle again and just wants to go to bed rubbing his eyes and refusing the bottle half way through. So hard being a baby Wink

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 03/02/2012 20:47

violet is a very sicky baby, you can garuantee put a clean outfit on her and shes sick straight down it. even nursery are used to hern ow turning up with sick down her having been sick in the car on the way!

Iwish · 03/02/2012 21:21

Joshua is a sicky baby too liz. He is sick from finishing his feed until his next feed. He can be sick then latch on 10 seconds later!
Bet you go through quite a few outfits a day, we can go through 3 sometimes.
I hope your night isn't too bad with violet.

Lol at Euan laughing at his sick klou!! What time you going to start putting him to bed now?

Well Joshua had a poo this morning that went through all his clothes. Changed him and put new clothes on. My mum turns up a few hours later as we are going out shopping and I go to change joshuas bum. Nappy off, cleaned bum and applied cream. Forgot the nappy so turned around to get it and he does a big projectile crap which shot onto the rug and changing mat so i picked him up before it touched his clothes. Mum cleans changing mat while I stand Joshua up until she's finished. THEN he's poos while stood up and it ends up all over his socks!! Charming pal!

Anyway. Enough of the poo. Put him to bed at 7:45 and he woke up crying at 8:45. Think it's going to be a long night again....

lizandlulu · 03/02/2012 22:12

ohh lovely pooh situation!! you dpnt know what to do with htem in that moment do you!! when violet was being sick, my reaction was to face her away from me to stop it getting on me, but forced myself to hold her closer so it went on me rahter than the floor. easier to wash my jumoer than clean the floor!! still managed to splatter the rug tho!

to be honest (and dont think i am a mucky git) i have only actually had to change whole outfits a couple of times, ever! if its abit of sick , i just wipe it off and carry onGrin i have had to change her from leaky poohs more often than cause of sick

hope its not too bad a night, violet hsnt woken for about the last hour andh alf so think shes settled down, fingers corssed. see you all tomorrowSmile

KLou111 · 04/02/2012 10:03

Morning, well fab night, 7-8 all the way without a dummy at 7am, happy mummy and daddy :)
Think may do 6.50pm tonight, want to get to 6.30, but will do a bit at a time :)

Lol at the poo iwish, thankfully haven't had the poo, but have been weed on a few times (and Euan has got himself in the face a couple too, which I know is wrong to giggle at, but it is quite funny!)
Did you have a better night?

I normally baby wipe the sick down Liz if there's not a lot. I used to take out 2 spare outfits, but now he is only sick a tiny bit. Think his food keeps it down more now.
The washer is on once a day as it is lol!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 04/02/2012 16:12

Well, have just bought ingredients to do Euans lunches and dinners for the next 5 weeks, so that's my job tomorrow! Bought a load of freezer bags too from the pound shop so I don't run out of room using boxes! We've only got a 3 drawer freezer, and Euan already takes 1 up!!
Just worked it all out that it'll prob cost 50p per day, plus cooking obviously, but thought that was quite good :) Have bought some puddings, so that doesn't include them. One of them Heinz tins lasts him 3 days, and they were 6 for £2 in Tesco, so that's 11p a day lol! Not sure if you can use the powdered custard you get in the tub and make from scratch?

OP posts:
Iwish · 04/02/2012 16:57

Was very naughty last night. Joshua was up every hour from 7:30 till 11:30 then every half a hour till 2:30am. His throat sounds sore from the coughing and crying and he would only settle with us do he slept in our bed so I got an ok sleep after that. He had a feed at 2:30 and a small one at 6:00 to get him back to sleep till 8:05.

He's just been sobbing all day the poor thing. Has done lots of poos too. He normally does one a day or sonetimes rvery other day but the last 3 days (including today) hes been doing 4 or 5.
Just given him some calpol at 4:45, will I be ok to give nurofen about 7:00 before bed?

Good idea about the bags instead of boxes klou I might do that myself!
What are you making him this time?

liz how did violet sleep? Lol at the puke. I wipe it off with a baby wipe if it's not too bad. I straitened my hair for the first time in weeks this morning and guess what, Joshua puked in it!!

KLou111 · 04/02/2012 17:15

Wow that's a lot of poo iwish do you think he may have a tummy bug?
Poor little man :(

Foodwise, making chicken casserole, lamb hotpot, fish lyonnaise, macaroni cheese, chicken/veg gratin for lunches, and leek and potato soup, veg broth, mixed root medley, and corn chowder (made this aft) for teas :) he can have baked pot and beans for tea too but can do that as we go :)

OP posts:
KLou111 · 04/02/2012 17:31

Just given Euan corn chowder and it didn't even touch the sides it went down that quick!!
