I know - I'm not looking forward to that bit of working again ;)

BTW there's a website with ideas for finger food/BLW ideas here .

Gotta go DS wants to play hide and seek.

lizandlulu · 27/01/2012 18:21

thats a nice website womb shame in the pudding section there is only one recipieGrin some nice savoury ones tho, will be giving them a try. it would be easy to make patties and similar things to take out, rahter than just a sandwich. we only have white in this house so they would be a good alternative

KLou111 · 27/01/2012 19:38

Happy friday all :)

Another week done for you Liz, do the girls lie in at the weekend or do they wake at normal weekday time?

Bought Euan some new sleepsuits today, he only had 1 that fit him, and has 3 pairs pjs. Anyway, the nights he was wearing pjs were the ones he woke at 3am for his dummy, yet last night he slept all the way through again and was in his suit, and I woke him at 8 this morning :) Anyway, bought 6-9 months and they only just fit lengthwise!! The arms are long, and the body is loose, can't win!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 27/01/2012 19:56

different shops=different fits, i had some john lewis ones (well violet did, dont think they do my size Grin they are a bigger fit than next, i only have next of JL ones at the min. andi bought her a new sleeping bag, one of those proper growbag ones and didnt realise it was to tricky to get a sleepy baby into! i was using am old one of lulus which had a zip at the side and poppers on the shoulders, this one has proper arm holes with a zip down the front, alot of faffing

lizandlulu · 27/01/2012 19:57

next AND JL ones

lizandlulu · 27/01/2012 20:03

oh and they get up at normal time, even though lulu doesnt go to bed till about 9 on friday nights, she doesnt sleep later, i wish!!! but at least i dont have to run about to get out the house on time

WombOnTheBroom · 27/01/2012 20:16

Ooh, there are cake recipes in the snacks section though...

Iwish · 28/01/2012 12:13

TIRED!!!
Joshua keeps waking up crying at 1:45am!! Don't know why and cant see anything wrong. Took 1 hour 15 mins to get him to sleep last night. Then he was up at 4:00 for a feed!!

KLou111 · 28/01/2012 12:38

Omg iwish poor you :( has he got a temp? Wonder why he's waking.

Well, lots of 'firsts' in our house today. Gave Euan his sippy cup with some baby juice and took it straight away!! Then sat in his high chair for yoghurt, didn't want his veg in there so will ease him in gently :) and he also had a bit of chicken I put it in the blender so its like its finely ground rather than paste and ate it all!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 28/01/2012 18:09

I'm not sure klou that's the one thing I didn't check, couldn't find the sodding thermometer.

Yey for Euan taking his cup! Bet he enjoyed the juice as its quite sweet isn't it? He's doing so well with all the diff types of food isn't he. Hope Joshua is as good :)

Just been to next and bought Joshie some new clothes. We had £60 vouchers and spent the lot on him in about 5 mins lol Grin

KLou111 · 28/01/2012 18:54

Yes its sweeter than I thought it would be. Shall water it down tomorrow a bit. Pain in the arse that you have to use it within 4 days, there is no way he is going to drink the whole bottle!
Must say it was nice him being in his high chair too. We got one of those booster seat ones so he can sit at the table with us. Really looking forward to us all eating together :) Yeah, he's doing really well with food, gave him some banana earlier in tiny chunks as a snack. He looked a bit puzzled, but worked it out, I fed it him though.

Lol at you and your vouchers. Bet you got some nice things. :) Not been into next for ages!
Saw a gorgeous pale green soft dungaree outfit in mothercare the other day, have some vouchers for there so may get 9-12 months as he's got so many 6-9!!

Robs bathing Euan, feeling a bit lost lol!

OP posts:
Iwish · 28/01/2012 20:28

4 days?? Do they think you are feeding triplets?! Bet he looks so grown up sat at the table with you. Lol at the banana!!
Oh next have some lovely stuff. I got him 3 tshirts, 2 pairs of joggers, a top and joggers set, a little knitted hoodie and a sleepsuit that says 'save water, drink milk'. Got 6-9 months tho so they are miles too big for now.
I love the stuff from mothercare too but the one near me is only small so not much choice.

Joshua didn't go to bed till 8 tonight and he's only just gone quiet, he was talking to himself for 20 mins.

This sounds a bit strange but if you ate in the house all day what do you do to keep Euan entertained?

Iwish · 28/01/2012 20:29

I mean if you 'are' in the house

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/01/2012 08:22

Poor joshua and poor you iwish, it's knackering being woken up at that time isn't it? That's what time monster poppy usually wakes up. How was he last night?

klou we didn't bother with juice, we just give poppy water :o it's less stickier to wipe up when she spits it out :o
Wrt to his weight have you tried standing on bathroom scales holding him, and then stand on them without him and work out how much he weighs by the different weights?

Well the rescue lady is bringing us a greyhound today! She rung me yesterday to say she was collecting a pair of them from a family who were looking after them after their mum (and dogs owner) ended up in a nursing home. The boy of the pair is perfect for us apparantly, he's lived with v. Young children with 1 being autistic! So fingers crossed it all works out!

lizandlulu · 29/01/2012 09:51

melly hope this dog works out for you, does sound good tho if hes used to childern. are you still calling it sprocket?

klou have you looked at a handysitt? they are a dead good seat that fixes to a chair, got to be a straight backed chair tho, they kind of hook over the back and they sit at normal table height, so are really part of the meal, rather thanj ust stuck on the end. they have to be quite steady at sitting up as they dont offer much support for slumping babies, but would be good for when hes older. i had one for lulu and it was so good i kept it.

lulu only drinks water. thats all i gave her and now she wont even TOUCH, literally touch with her hands, any thing else. liek if shes closer to my drink that i am and i asked her to pass it, she wont even touch it. chris and dad have tried tricking her into drinking flavoured water, but she will not, no way.

well done with all the feeding and drinking!!! the chicken you ground, did you mix it with anything, or just gave him it dry?

KLou111 · 29/01/2012 10:16

He won't drink water :( I've tried and tried but he won't have it. Strange cos he had it before, hence I got the juice out (been in the cupboard for weeks). I am going to water it down and down so hopefully he will to back to water, as its another thing I don't want him to have a sweet tooth for!
I got a mamas and papas chair Liz where the tray comes off and the height adjusts so he can sit at the table, but he does have to sit straight backed, which he is doing well :) I put some piccies on fb yesterday of him in it, do you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, I've done the weight thing, prob is our scales only have one decimal, so when it comes to ounces, I'm not sure what it means, ie I weighed him about a week ago and he was 19.2lbs. Is the .2 2 ozs or 2/10 of 16? Confused? Anyway, check up for his tongue tues so will see if they'll weigh him :)
Good luck with sprocket number 2.

Entertainment wise iwish we put Euan in his jumperoo, or in his chair with toys, or sit with him on my lap while I read a mag and he plays with toys, I get him on his front, on his playmat, or standing him up, sitting him up playing on the floor in between my legs, read to him. He entertains himself a lot too, and likes to sit jammed on the sofa in between cushions, and watch the dogs, or play with his toys :)

KLou111 · 29/01/2012 10:18

Oh, the chicken I mixed in with his veg :)

Iwish · 29/01/2012 12:25

melly last night he was great! He went to bed and only got up at 2:25 and 7:00 for a feed then back to sleep till 8:45. I needed some sleep! I did give him a bit of calpol before bed and also put him in a quilted sleepsuit so one of them helped him sleep better lol.
Hope things work out with the dog, how old is he?

liz my friend was like that with water! The first time she had anything other than water was when we were about 14. She wouldn't have flavoured water either.

Thanks klou we do the jumperoo, swing, play gym, tummy time and sit him with us but he doesn't play with toys. He can't really grab toys yet so can't really entertain himself. We put him in his door bouncer the other day too.

Just been to church and am waiting for shopping to be delivered now.

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/01/2012 14:13

The dog just turned 5 the other week, he's black with a white chest and trainer socks apparantly :o his name is Brett/Bert/Bertie, but I reckon we'll defo change it to Sprocket, or Merlin. I love both of those names. He's arriving in an hour. Am cacking myself :o

Wasn't Joshua a good boy last night? I bet you were so pleased with him, I saw the pic of him in his door bouncer on FB, he looks so cute in it!

Liz I don't think I've ever met a child that doesn't eat cheese and only drinks water! My grandma's like that :o

Iwish · 29/01/2012 15:37

Yeh sprocket is a fab name!! Let us know how your playdate goes melly
Yeh I was v pleased with him, hope he's as good tonight!

Going to put Joshua in the big bath tonight. He normally goes in the baby bath but he's getting a little big now.

lizandlulu · 29/01/2012 16:22

iwish that was a great night!!

melly hows the dog going?

violet hasnt been to sleep today AT ALL!!! i had to take lulu to a party 12-2 and violet had just dropped off while having her bottle at 11 whenwe had to leave cause i needed to stop at asda, so she woke and didnt go back to sleep, then dropped off in the car on the way back, but i thought it was too cold to leave her in the car as i would usually, so brought her in and put her in her cot hoping she would go back to sleep, but she didnt, even when i put her mobile on. so shes now grumpySad

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/01/2012 17:06

He's not arrived yet, I rang them at half past ish and she said her son and husband are on their way back from wakefield with a new car and she doesn't drive so relies on them for lifts etc.

KLou111 · 29/01/2012 19:11

God I am aching like a beatch!!
Forgot to mention earlier, I fell down the stairs with Euan this morning. I just slipped on our first step at the top as the first 3 are like a spiral and I put my foot down on the skinny bit and slipped. Anyway, saved Euan as I fell back, but had no hands and smacked my elbow on the wall, forearm on something, top of my back on step and smacked back of my head full out. I've felt shite all day, even more thinking of the worse and upsetting myself, but now I feel bloody awful. I think Euan must've landed on my ribs funny cos it bloody hurts there too!
Thank god he was ok. He screamed when I fell, but I know I didn't get him, as Rob came running as soon as he heard the thud and saw how we landed and I pulled him on my chest as I fell. I think it was the shock if the fall bless him.

Hoping Joshua good again tonight iwish, good boy :)

Any dog news melly?

Did violet settle ok Liz?

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 29/01/2012 20:26

klou what a shock for you both! thank god you are both ok, dont worry about what might have happened!! it DIDNT. your mothers instinct must work wellSmile

violet settled fine, fast asleep for 5.50! she was worn out

Iwish · 29/01/2012 21:00

Oh klou glad you are both ok! Like liz said, don't worry about what might have happened! get rob to massage the sore bits.

liz it was a great night, would love the same tonight but I'm not counting on it. Bet violet was worn out after not having a kip. Does she sleep better or worse after no naps? Joshua can be really bad if he's had no naps.

Joshuas bath in the big bath went v well. He loved it! We put some ducks in that flash different colours and turned the light off for a couple of minutes which he thought was great.
