Great to hear from you melly wondered where you were. All these babies are teeny tiny compared to our little lump lol!
Good luck with your greyhound searching.

Well bit concerned this end about Euan. He's gone from a baby that has 30+oz per day to around 26, with his solids, now I am struggling to get over 5oz down him when he wakes, then anything over 3oz per feed in the day. It's almost like he doesn't want to suck. I've read that it could be his teeth giving him hip as he's fine feeding from a spoon, I even tried the doidy cup this morning, not sure if any actually was swallowed though!
I've tried cutting back his solids, but it didn't make any difference. I even had to give him 2 portions of his usual rice last night, to get the milk in, which he took no prob. Getting very worried :(
He's his usual self though, but he has started waking in the night, but not through hunger. Might phone hv tomorrow.

He goes off again when he wakes, just waking at around 4 and 6 :(

OP posts:
SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 15/01/2012 11:10

Well they start requiring less milk when they have solids don't they?

KLou111 · 15/01/2012 11:13

Yes, but he's really not wanting any quite rapidly. He's been on the same amount of solids and milk for about 4 weeks and all of a sudden he doesn't want the bottle. Almost as if he's bored of milk!!
You can see it in his face, he kind of winces, just not sure if because he doesn't want it or if he's in pain :(

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 15/01/2012 13:50

Oh bless him. I wonder what it could be? I bet you don't fancy starting a thread about it in breast and bottle feeding though :o
Defo ring HV tomorrow though, even if it's just to set your mind at rest.

Has bella calmed down yet anyway? How old is she now? She'll be reaching adolescence soon I reckon, you'll have fun then :o

KLou111 · 15/01/2012 16:11

No don't fancy starting one, there are some right opinionated beatches on here!!

Bella a lot better, still bloody doing my head in but Euan loves her, and she loves Euan which is lovely to see. She'll 1 on 25 Feb. We've had her since end April, time flies doesn't it?!?!

Oh, had another accident. Euan was sat on sofa with Widgey pillow and another cushion behind his head, one of them beany ones. Anyway, we were in the kitchen, left him for about 2 mins, but could hear him etc. Anyway, heard this smack on the floor, then crying, I need not say the rest :( Turns out the smack was his dummy thank god and he'd managed to land his head face down into the cushion, do he obv pulled it with him. Phew, close call. We felt like shite, but thankfully it didn't bother him too long, cried more cos he was face down I think. Poor little fella :(

would be made a whole lot worse if you had propped him up to watch the tellyGrin bless him, glad hes ok, its mostly the shock i think when they cry!!i think mine and yours babies get together when were not looking and plan against us!
violet has been waking for the last 2 nights, friday night she woke at 1.40 and didnt go back off to sleep till she started to grumble andi gave her a bottle at 4!! then last night she woke at 11.40 and again didnt go back to sleep properly till 4. shes not waking through hunger as she would cry straight off, i dont think shes cold, no uncomfy parts of her, no nappy problems, i have no idea why. the only thing i can put it down to is she has abit of a cold, shes been quite snotty. but shes been like it before and shes never been like this at night.
i put her in a sleeping bag last night thinking that she might be cold and she didnt mind it, so will do again tonight.
its so annoying tho cause she doesnt just wake and entertain herself, she rolls onto her front, and as she cant roll back again yet, i have to go and turn her over 3-4 times! and she got her legs stuck in bars again last night, so the sleeping bag will cure that too.

been to kiddicare again today, returned a foootmuff that i bought last sunday, then saw a beautiful buggysnuggle so got that and returned the one i didnt want.

my mum bought violet one of those sophie la giraffe teether toys and she really likes it, its like a dog toy! so chewyGrin

melly lovely to hear from you. your bro doesnt give you much notice does he!! is poppy on 3 meals a day now? does she still have many feeds?

MadKatz · 16/01/2012 08:57

Klou you should get one of these

www.amazon.co.uk/Bumbo-Baby-Sitter-EA101-AQU/dp/B000GX31F2

my dad bought sophie a pink one for christmas and it's great. Means i can leave the room and not worry she's fallen. Can also put it on the back of the worktop when I'm cooking. She's going through the stage where if she doesn't see me for a bit she screams the house down and this means I've got 2 hands back to do things Smile

Sophie doing great, but we still have the 'I don't want to go to sleep' crying in the evenings, so I've stopped fighting it. She was doing 11-6 for quite a while, but the last 3 nights have been awake and hungry every 4 hours, still going at about 11. Don't quite know why it's changed, but hey-ho.

She's a bit of a lump now - 13lb, 3.5 oz at 3 months (weighed last Tuesday)!!!

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 09:37

Thanks madkatz got him a chair when he was about 12 weeks :) one of those with the toys all the way round.
Glad Sophie doing great :)

Well just phoned the hv and she said as long as Euan having 20oz milk a day she's not worried. I bloody am though!! She was more concerned about him not sucking though, said he may be weaning himself off the bottle and to try a soppy cup. I tried one with juice with no joy the other day so will try with milk.
I managed to get 7oz down this morning, 2 being in his porridge though.
He woke at 3.15, 4.45, then 7.30. It just seems funny he's waking as he's dropped his milk!!

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 09:37

Hi ladies!

Sorry not been on for a few days. Joshua has been a complete shit. Screaming all day for no reason and last night he decided to wake up at 2:30am and not go back to sleep tell 6:15am. I'm knackered and have only had 4 hours sleep!
He was really in the bad books last night, I was in tears and losing my patience. Feel bad really because I shouldn't get upset at him.

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 12:42

Oh iwish so sorry :( is Joshua ok? He's not sick is he, or teething? Poor you, and Joshie. Did he feed when awake or just awake?

Well, I gave Euan some baby nurofen at 11, bottle at 11.30 and troughed the lot!! Very happy :) Still had his veg, Apple, and yoghurt too!!

How warm is it today??? We've been in the conservatory all day so far, like a summers day in here!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 16/01/2012 14:35

Yeh he seems ok klou he's not ill. He does have 2 tooth buds but I've tried to put bonjela on them and that doesn't help.
He had 1 feed at about 4:00 but he didn't take much do I don't think he was really that hungry.

I'm at the end of my tether with it all now. He's been screaming for a few hours today and it's doing my head in. Just say here sobbing wishing he would shut up.

It looks lovely here today but it's still cold, only about 5 degrees.

Glad Euan has taken his milk and food ok today, is he happier for taking it?

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 16:01

iwish you do sound peed off bless you :( I wonder what's wrong with him. Have you tried giving him some calpol just in case he's in pain somewhere?

Well, just tried the nurofen trick again and got 3oz in, but think he may be full from lunch tbh.
Will try again at 6. Rob thinks we should perhaps change his milk if it carries on past the next week. He said earlier though, its not as if its a massive problem him waking earlier cos he does go off after a few mins, but am just concerned he's not getting what he needs :(

OP posts:
KLou111 · 16/01/2012 16:03

Sorry iwish he doesn't seem happier for any more milk, or any different to normal tbh, just me being concerned lol!

OP posts:
Iwish · 16/01/2012 16:06

Yeh I am peed off klou and quite fed up. If he's the same tonight I will try calpol. He's just having a nap now and I bet when he wakes up he's all happy for half a hour or so then he goes miserable again. Hmmmph :(

I wonder why he's not taking as much milk. Is it just follow on milk you give him?

lizandlulu · 16/01/2012 16:41

oh iwish i dont know what to say to do. i would def try calpol. violet has burst into tears a couple of times over the weekend, from what i can tell its nothing but might be teeth, ears, tummy something i cant physically see, so give her calpol, it makes her sleep for a little bit and she usually wakes up in a better mood.

well violet was unsettled again last night at about 9, 3-4 times she turned over and moaned till i put her back, but then she settled down and slept till 7.30 this morning, i think the grow bag helps quite abit

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 16:59

No, just his normal milk. He's on hungry baby, not that there's any difference I remember Liz saying. We were thinking of giving him follow on, but from what I've read it's a con, they invented it cos they're not allowed to advertise stage 1 milk! It has got more iron and vitamins in it. We've got 1 more box of formula left, so may change after that.
Follow on is meant to make babies more constipated too. Are you using follow on yet Liz? If so have you seen any difference?
Bless violet, what's she like! Hopefully she can roll herself back soon!!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 16/01/2012 17:00

Oh, and you're not meant to use follow in til 6 months.

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 16/01/2012 17:41

no ,violet is still on the same milk as she was, just cow and gate number 1. chris said the other day 'when are you changing her milk?' i said, what for? shes perfectly happy on the one she has, she doesnt need to change for the moment

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 19:11

No, if she's happy, I agree :)

Have tallied up the milk and Euan has had 4.5oz more than yesterday. Fingers crossed it has an effect

OP posts:
Iwish · 16/01/2012 20:08

Well he's just having his feed then putting him to bed. He's had a nice 3 hour nap this afternoon and hasn't been as grumpy tonight. Hope he sleeps ok.

Sorry I do t know much about the milk. Thought you just gave it when weaning lol. Think I need to do some reading up

Awww bless violet liz. Does she save all her rolling over for bedtime?

Hopefully he will slowly start upping his milk again klou maybe he has been having an off week?

KLou111 · 16/01/2012 20:49

Hopefully all good tonight for you iwish :)
I didn't know a lot about formula either til was using it. Will you carry on bf when you've started weaning?

Hopefully just an off week, he still needs his milk despite his solids whether he likes it or not lol!

Better night here, Euan woke at 5, had to dummy him, then up at 7.30. Mum has just suggested make his year home bigger, so gonna do that. I fed him with the nurofen syringe this morning as only took 2oz!!!!
