glad you had a better night klou hope yours wasnt too bad either iwish?

violet was awake 2.30 for an hour, rolling over every 2 mins, moaning till i rolled her back, eventually gave her a bottle, and put a rolled up blanket under her sheet which seemed to do the trick as she can still only roll one wayGrin then woke at 7.15

KLou111 · 17/01/2012 12:45

Sorry, friggin phone!! Teat hole bigger lol!!
Anyway tried it, still not interested :(

Had a much better night last night. Boob and bed at 7:40 then feeds at 2:10 and 7:10 then up at 8:30. Wish he would have stretched out and not had that 7:10 feed till 8:10.
He has been v good today too. We went to my friends house for a few hours, went for a walk etc and Joshua loved smiling at her little girl lol.

Yeh I think I'll bf when weaning klou Might change my mind at the time tho lol.
Did you check with hv about him not taking much milk?

Lol at the rolled blanket liz! Maybe put one both sides haha.

Had a phone all earlier from my boss asking if I would like to attend a meeting tomorrow as there is going to be an announcement. I can't go but last time we had an announcement I lost my job :( (I got a new job in a different team tho)

KLou111 · 17/01/2012 17:21

Yeah phoned the hv, have put it in here what she said somewhere yesterday morning. Basically not much help!
He's been off again all day. The feed after he got up at 2, he took 1/2oz!! So I put the other 5.5oz in a bowl (have bought some bigger ones now), mixed in some cereal and he ate it all like it was going out of fashion!! Now I'm going to be concerned he's having too much solids, I can't win!!
Hope your announcement not too bad.
Fingers crossed Joshua sleeps later tomorrow :)

have you tried giving him milk in a beaker, rather than a bottle? worth a go?

iwish i hope its not bad news!

Iwish · 17/01/2012 19:44

Sorry klou I must have missed that post. It is v strange that he will have his milk with his cereal but not in his bottle. Will he take it in a weaning bottle? We Have a Tommee tippee weaning bottle that we got in a set.

Just took Joshua up for milk and bed but he was too tired for milk so just put him to bed. I expect he will be up soon for some.

How's work been liz? Is violet ok at nursery?

KLou111 · 17/01/2012 20:20

No won't take it out sippy cup or doidy :(
Gave him an extra oz with his rice tonight, he also took 4oz from bottle though so hoping he's getting back on track :)
Been giving him nelsons teetha powders today, seems a bit better. Poor little man, just feel helpless :(

whats a weaning bottle?

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 17/01/2012 22:38

Oh iwish I hope joshua keeps behaving better for you, it's such a pain when they constantly cry for no apparant reason.

klou try not to worry about him too much, if he seems ok and happy he's maybe just preferring less milk. His stomach is only the size of his fist!

liz how are things with you and chris now?

Well I'm in bed all on my own. Simons at work, he got home at 4, then got called out at 10 past 4, just pulled up outside the house at half 5 then got called out again and still out :( he's doing a road closure at a fatal, waiting for the police to finish then he can come home after mopping up.

Poppy is nearly crawling! She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks backwards and forwards :o got her weighed today, 15lbs 12.5oz! Midget or what? She's 7 months today, so in her 7 months she's gained 8lbs 0.5oz altogether :o

Iwish · 18/01/2012 10:44

I'm so scared!! I hope I don't lose my job again!!!

KLou111 · 18/01/2012 11:05

They surely can't lay you off on maternity???

OP posts:
Iwish · 18/01/2012 11:49

They can do when I get back tho so come July I could be jobless :(. The meeting was at 10:30 n I'm still waiting!

KLou111 · 18/01/2012 13:33

Hopefully all is ok x

Well, Euans teeth are still doing his head in bless him. Went to bed at 7, come 8.30 he woke up crying, not majorly crying, but crying like something wad bothering him, neither Rob or I could settle him so got him out for a cuddle and brought him downstairs (naughty!!) Anyway gave him some bonjela, and he sat with Rob watching tv til 9.15, rubbing his eyes, gave him a powder, off til 3.15, then 3.45 I gave him bonjela, dummy in til 7.45. So not too bad. It was actually quite nice when he got up at 8.30, kind of reminded us of when we were kids and you used to cuddle up to your parents when you were ill, or stayed up later than normal and had to stay quiet or you had to go to bed!
He's been so good bless him considering. Managed 2oz this morn and half his porridge, but had a full bottle and food at lunch.

Sorry pressed post accidentally!!

Yey poppy on her nearly crawling melly, what a dainty little thing!! I'd like to know how much Euan weighs but have to go 13 miles to our docs!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 18/01/2012 13:37

Still waiting :(

liz this is the weaning bottle I have. www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10751&langId=-1&productId=88924&source=froogle&cm_mmc=Froogle--Shopping%20Sites--CPC-_-Froogle

Can't believe popy is almost crawling melly!in fact I can't believe she is 7 months old. Time is going to quick! Poor Simon, what time did he get back?
Yeh the crying is horrid, I just dont know what to do with him sometimes.

Maybe it is his teeth that is stopping him taking the bottle klou? The way he sucks might be affecting his gums? Maybe put a bit of the powder on before each bottle?

Well Joshua fell asleep at 7:30 last night and didn't have his last feed. He woke up at 10:15, 12:55 and 2:45! Gave him some calpol at 2:45 and a feed and it knocked him out till 8:00 then he had another feed and slept till 9:45.

Iwish · 18/01/2012 13:39

13 miles to your docs?! Wow that's a long way!

KLou111 · 18/01/2012 13:50

Yeah, looking forward to getting nearer to things like that when we get back to the midlands :)
Not looking forward to having baby number 2 back there though, had such a fab experience here, and friend who had hers a week after Euan had a right mare!! May have a home birth lol!!
Def his teeth why he's not sucking, tried everything inc giving the powder like you say. He only seems to want the bottle if he's really hungry, but you can see him wincing :(
He fell over again earlier. this time sat on the floor with his Widgey pillow and toys, towels all around. Rob was on the phone watching him, I was in the kitchen, heard this thud and Euan had fallen forward, totally missed the towels!! He went that quick Rob couldn't catch him. God, gonna have SS onto us!!! Little cry as he went face down, fine when picked up. Can't believe it happened again :(

OP posts:
Iwish · 18/01/2012 15:06

Awww poor Euan. I suppose they are going to do it when they are crawling/walking anyway but it doesn't make you feel any better tho.
Maybe just have to ride it out re the milk. It must be hard knowing you want to get it into him and he won't take it.
1 more suggestion but will he take it cold? Maybe cold milk will soothe his gums.

Re my job. 7 people in my dept are affected but the jobs may go through natural wastage. There are 81 people affected in the whole business tho. I'm safe whild I'm on mat leave my boss said but I said what happens when I go back, I won't be safe then and she said it should be sorted by then.

Joshua is pushing his bum up now with his legs/feet and moving himself forward. Shame his arms aren't doing the crawling movements because he's just rubbing his face along the floor lol!!

KLou111 · 18/01/2012 15:34

Done that :) warm, cold, room temp.
Glad job ok for now. Clever Joshua shuffling forward, Euan does it in circles ha ha!!

lizandlulu · 18/01/2012 18:07

iwish glad your job is ok for now.

klou dont worry about it, you will have lots more bumps by the time he is 18! once i took lulu for a bridesmaid dress fitting, she was only about 15 months but walking, and she was sat on the worktop in the shop and i let go of her and she fell head first onto the floor but even from a height she was ok.
oh and another time we was going up some escalators in a shopping centre and she was in front of me, again about 18 months,, and she sort of fell to the side and got dragged face first downwards on the stairs, i grabbed her by the arm and yanked her up, totally panicking and it looked like her foot had been mangled! i was scared to take her shoe off incase her toes came with it! but she had just grazed it, but took her a couple of days to walk normal! i did take her to the hospital that time, i was 100 miles from home and scared shitless, but she was fine. learn from me and keep away from the sides of the escalators!!

so you have got a way to catch up with me Grin

well another day in my crazy life, the travel agent rang today to say 'unfortunatly, there isnt a eurostar train to bring us back to england on the sat we was ment to be coming home, do i mind staying another might free of charge meal included? well aint got much choice have i if i cant get home!! so have had to change hotel booking in london to the sunday night and buy more train tickets to get back on the monday!! all in all, i have gained another night in eurodisney, and lost out on about £6 overall as the hotel was cheaper with it being on a sunday

lizandlulu · 18/01/2012 18:26

sorry melly didnt mean to ignore you!! ahh poppy is a dainty little thing! does she eat any more savoury stuff yet? and bless her for nearly crawling!! shes so forward isnt she!

and me and chris are ok, he seems to have got his head abit more together. e said the other nght about having another kid1! i think he was joking, he must have been, he knows i dont want any more and i said to him 'no, having babies pushes you over hte edge!!'

KLou111 · 18/01/2012 22:01

keep forgetting to mention i bought some of these the other day www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180476957173?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_4570wt_1185 they're great and so handy.
Robs aunty bought us some 'it's a bibble' ones for chrimbo, but found these and just the same.

KLou111 · 18/01/2012 22:04

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 18/01/2012 22:36

i know, she was only wearing little canvas shoes too as it was summer. we was in essex visiting a friend and was at bluewater, luckily the hospital is right next door so she drove us there, lulu crying all the way. i was that desperate to sooth her i even offered her a dummy(one of my mates daughters dummys)! i said to my mate, i would offer her my nipple if i tohught it would calm her downGrin

how do those bibs fasten klou? there is some lovely designs

KLou111 · 19/01/2012 10:33

There's press studs at the back, adjustable til they have a 35cm neck!!
Poor lulu lol at nipple!!
Rob managed to fracture his eyelid at 6 weeks old, in his bouncy chair on the worktop and bounced off!!
