Oh you poor thing klou, you did have a crappy night! It sounds like he may sleep a little better tonight tho if he's v tired and full of food lol.
Have you bought and wrapped all your prezzies?

Joshua was in bed at 8:30 last night but woke at 9:15 for his last feed then slept till 6:00, had a quick feed then back to bed till 9:10. Lovely. Would love to move it all forward a hour but it never works.

KLou111 · 18/12/2011 20:51

Yup all done, well just waiting for a few parcels actually :)
Euan is one spoilt little man, loads under the tree for him and he hasn't got a clue!! apparently there's pressies in the midlands for him too!!
Are you done?? What have you asked for?
Joshuas sleep sounds fab :)

evening all.
iwish it sounds like your sleep has come along in leaps and bounds in a short soace of time! violets did, before we went on holiday at the end of oct, she wasnt going to bed till 9.30ish. then what with the clocks changing and coming back off hol ,she all of a sudden wanted to go to bed at 6!

she had about 2 dessert spoonfulls of rice with bananna suprise mixed in and she ate the lot so hoping for a good night tonight as she woke at 4 this morning and had to give her bottle.

but she ate alot last night too but still woke so i still dont think it has much to do ith it for us.

also, just thought i would mention, when she has been asleep all night, she is never very hungry in a morning. you would think after 12-13 hours sleep, she would be ravenous, but 9 times out of 10, she only has 2-3 oz of her morning bottle!

KLou111 · 19/12/2011 10:00

Strange Liz you'd think she'd be starving esp as she eats every couple of hours!

A lot better here. Bed 6.45pm, whimpered at 2.15 and 3.30 for barely a min, back off himself. Woke at 6, dummy in, woke again at 6.45 so Rob brought him in bed with us, then I woke at 9 to them both asleep!!
Ab fab but I am panicking now as he fed late will it have a knock on effect!!
Lovely though Xmas Grin

Hi everyone! Sorry I've not been on for ages, I've been lazy and gearing myself up to read all the posts and now there's too many Xmas Grin

Up until friday night Poppy slept on our bed for 2 weeks. She just wouldn't settle in her cot at all! In the end I realised that she wasn't sleeping well as she couldn't roll over onto her front with a blanket on top of her (she usually just has a sleeping bag), so I put her to bed on her belly on friday and she slept 11hrs! But that was a lucky one off. She's woken up 2-3 times for the past 2 nights.

madkatz how is sophie doing now? Lots better I hope?

liz I hope you end up with some nice things for christmas, did he end up going to lulus play?

klou how's the weaning going? Now Poppy is 6 months we can really get going with it! Although she won't eat anything with veg. She loves heinz fruity custards though so she has one of those for tea followed by a petit filous yoghurt.

So iwish will we be hearing wedding bells soon? Xmas Wink

KLou111 · 19/12/2011 18:05

Hiya melly wondered where you'd gone.
Sounds like poppy prefers her front then lol! Euan prefers his sleeping bag to covers I think. Need to get some new ones though cos he's getting very long.
Weaning going great. I only used 3 jars before putting him onto home made puree as the jars I think were a bit bland lol.
He LOVES his food. Has 2 ice cubes of sweet potato mixed with 2 cubes carrot at the mo (obviously defrosted lol) around 11.30, then 4 teaspoons rice and 2 cubes Apple or pear and 1oz milk around 5. He prefers the rice and fruit as it goes down without touching the sides, but I am determined not to give him a sweet tooth!!
Have you tried making any? Took me about 3 hours peeling, chopping, boiling and sodding sterlising everything in between using it but have about 6 weeks of food in the freezer :) just have to make sure I get it out the night before lol!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 19/12/2011 18:42

can you not defrost it in the microwave? i am shocking with food prep and sell by dates, anything like thta. if it smells ok and looks ok then i will eat itGrin obviously got to be more careful with the kids but i have the constitution of an ox!

hey melly was thinking of you today that we hadnt heard owt from you for a while. morrisons have got them fruit custard pots for £1, have you got morrisons round you?

i gave violet some baby rice mixed with spinach, broccoli and summat else, she seemed to really like it (despite it looking like dog pooh squirting out of the pouch) but after 5-6 mouthfuls she pulled a funny face and didnt want any moreGrin

i used to make for lulu, mash potato with cheese sauce, she never did like it and still doesnt like cheeseXmas Grin

KLou111 · 19/12/2011 19:35

Nah can't defrost in micro cos of some of it defrosting quicker than other bits blah blah, and you can only heat it once and all that.

Well, our tree looking very full now, just put that on Facebook and a friend said spare a thought for her Xmas eve, she has 7 kids, mental!!! Last one born just before Euan, not planned, but her hubbys vasectomy didn't work LOL!

MadKatz · 20/12/2011 11:08

Morning!

Hope you're all well.

No better here, in fact worse. I only got 2 1/2 hours sleep last night Xmas Hmm

Not only are we dealing with colic, but Sophie is also teething early. She started havin rosy cheeks, drooling everywhere and chewing her hands end of last week, I just put it down to a cold and maybe still being hungry. But when I put my finger in her mouth, she bit down and I could feel her bottom ones already coming through her gums!

Problem is she's too little to hold anything properly at the mo like a teether so we thought we'd try and introduce a dummy, but not having much success, she just spits it out. Any suggestions / advice?

Bought some teething gel which she seems to like.

KLou111 · 20/12/2011 13:07

I got nelsons powder madkatz which seemed to help. Euan still not showing any teeth bit think they were moving around a couple of weeks ago. Poor thing x

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 20/12/2011 16:15

THERE IS A KIND OF DUMMY THING WHICH I HAVE SEEN, WITH THE HANDLE OF A DUMMY, BUT HAS LIKE A TEETHER ON THE END, SO ACTUALLY GOES ONTO HER GUMS, MIGHT BE WORTH A TRY, (sorry for caps) i imagine it would stay in her mouth better thn a conventional dummy too.

KLou111 · 20/12/2011 18:51

They look FAB Liz!! Not seen them before, may be another investment Xmas Wink

Well, Rob bought me a pressie today, a Kenwood blender, masher, chopper thing. I'd mentioned I wanted it ages ago, and TOTALLY forgot. He asked if I still wanted it, he was just going to get it but he had to drive 40 mins away and wanted to make sure I wanted it. Obviously I did, so that's me sorted (nearly) Xmas Grin

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 20/12/2011 19:57

snap klou my mum has bougth me something like that tooXmas Grin mine is a hand held thing with different attatchments, quite looking forward to using it (how sad is that?)

those dummy things look really good. i very nearly bought one when all she did was ram her hands down her throat, but didnt cause i didnt want to give her any kind of dummy and didnt want her to get started on one of those. but managed to pass that stage for the moment!

KLou111 · 20/12/2011 20:08

I know, and we are, even planned a soup starter Xmas day so we can try it lmao.

I know what you mean about giving a dummy if you haven't already. Godsend in our house at the mo hut I'm sure it'll bite me in the ass when we try to get rid lol.

Well, I am trying something different tonight. Euan keeps trying to roll over when I put him to bed, so I've put him on his front, EEEEEEK!!! We've got the movement monitor which is set to 20 secs no movement so am at ease there. I just think he may be bored of his back!! He woke at 3.30 this morning and I just brought him to our bed and he slept to 7.15. We were knackered so didn't want to keep getting up lol.

OP posts:
KLou111 · 20/12/2011 20:36

Iwish · 20/12/2011 21:16

madkatz I have just ordered one of these teethers. It looks fab. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320811387336?redirect=mobile it hasn't come yet tho. poor little thing teething. Its awful isn't it, Joshua has 3 tooth buds now but luckily they havnt cut through.

Have bought all my prezzies klou. I have just got a few to wrap. I havnt asked for anything tho because I need clothes but am too fat need to slim down first.

Ooh liz I hope he does what violet did with her sleep then! I'd be happy with 7:30pm till 8:30am. How is she doing with food today?

I hope we will get married melly it just seems right now we have Joshua.

And omg, nick has decided we should have another baby when Joshua is 2!! He said he doesn't want a big gap between them. When Joshie was born nick said no more ever lol!

KLou111 · 20/12/2011 21:58

Ah that's lovely iwish Xmas Smile
I've told Rob we're going to start trying around when Euan is 1, he didn't argue Xmas Wink Think he was a bit Hmm if I got pregnant as quick as this time though, but I said it probably will take longer this time, and don't want to start when Euan's 2 cos if it takes 9 or more months, he'll be 3 1/2 - 4 by the time he/she is born (seemed to work he he). I'd love to be pregnant by next Chrimbo TBH Xmas Grin
I agree, we don't want a big gap either. Rob and his brother are the best of friends and there is 2 years 3 months between them.
What would you like next time round? I always wanted 1 of each but now Euan is here, and knowing how well Rob and his brother get on, it would be nice to have a boy, so we don't mind. We've got (non identical) twins both sides too, so that'd screw us if that happened LMAO!
I saw them teethers, let me know how you get on x

OP posts:
Iwish · 20/12/2011 22:20

We would like one of each klou but wouldn't be bothered if we had another boy either. He was thinking that we should start trying around his 2nd birthday. I did originally want them close but joshuas birth put me off. But the physio said I could have a section if I wanted, not sure I fancy that either tho haha!

Lol. Imagine if you did have twins!! Euan is such a good baby tho so i bet Rob is so laid back about baby no 2. Wonder if we will still be on here when we are planning our next ones Xmas Grin

Omg there are some cats outside our window making that horrible noise that they make. It's so loud that nick threw water out the window to get rid of them. The swines are still doing it but have moved over the road!! Aaagh!

KLou111 · 20/12/2011 22:24

Bloody cats, they piss me off!! Hate the bloody things (sorry if any of you have cats!!)
People would soon moan if a dog was barking all night, and we get a fine for their poo yet cat turd is more dangerous!!!!!!

OP posts:
MadKatz · 21/12/2011 00:31

We'd like one of each too ideally, but am not really bothered if it is another girl. DH wants to start trying when Sophie is about 9 months. I also don't want a big age gap and am worried about how long it will take to get pg again, but not sure how I feel about starting ttc so soon.

Those Tommy Tippee teethers look good, think I will get one. Any tips on how to get her to take it/keep it in?

lizandlulu · 21/12/2011 07:59

morning all

madkatz i think you'd just have to shove it in and see what happensGrin does she had a dummy now? does that stay in?

iwish nd klou you want your heads banging togetherXmas Grin mad mad mad women.
lulu was such hard work as i baby that i really do think that if i had had another one so soon after i would have had a nervous breakdown! i didnt originally want a large age gap but there is now 5 and a half years between them and i like it, although did feel like starting all over again re nappies, pushchairs that kind of thing. i can get lulu off to school and have most of the day just me and the baby which is nice. but then if you have them close together then you would have a shorter time at home before they were BOTH at school, so pros and cons for both sides i think.

Iwish · 21/12/2011 11:00

Yeh they piss me off 2 klou especially when they are making noise like that!!

Wow 9months madkatz you are a mad lady!

We were going to wait till he went to school liz. Hopefully I would have just had baby or been off on mat leave when he starts but nick just changed his mind and said he wants them close together so we don't have to start again like you said.

Think Joshua might be coming down with something. He's been coughing, sneezing and sicking up mucus. He's also been going to bed at 8:30ish like normal but been waking at 12:30/1:00 as wel as 5:30/6:00. He's gone back to sleep with a bit of milk but he's been v whingy at other times in the night too.
What's the best thing to give him for colds?

KLou111 · 21/12/2011 11:12

Do them plug in thingies work for colds? Not sure iwish

Lol Liz thing is there is 3 years between my brothers and 6 and 9 years between me and my brothers. I can't bloody stand them tbh. I think a lot of it is they're boys etc, but my eldest bro was kicked out left home at 18 as he was a bit fucked up gothicy to the extreme so I never really grew up with him, and he's turned out so obnoxious as has my other bro. My mum in law thinks they are jealous of me and Rob.
Anyway, they get on as they are closer together as do Rob and his bro. And cousins that are close together and boy/girl are really close to. I'd love that :) I may aswell have been an only child lol!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 21/12/2011 11:40

I gave him a bit of calpol yesterday to see if that helped, just knocked him out lol. He's currently on my knee wrapped in a blanker which is unlike him, he's normally bored after 5 mins. He is tired too.

Going to have my hair cut and coloured today, I can't wait!!

Ooh and I won a jumperoo on eBay yesterday for £41!
