Feel like a new woman now. Cut and colour done and Joshie was so good. I go to her house so can chill out, she has a little girl whos 6months so isn't bothered by Joshua's whinging and feeding him lol.

Yeh we got the rainforest one too klou can't wait to pick it up! Have you got Euan his for Christmas or has he been in it already?

I know liz they were all going for £50 minimum so was pleased I got it for £41. Are you going to have an all over colour or some highlights?

KLou111 · 21/12/2011 19:22

Oooo bet you feel all lovely now.
Got it for Xmas, been dying to get it out though as had it for a few weeks, cost us £80!! But its a new one and its his first Xmas so didn't mind. He paid for it anyway as all my maternity money, family allowance, tax credit money etc goes into his account so everything we buy him comes out of there Xmas Wink
He's one loaded little man!! May need to raid his account when we move though lol!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 21/12/2011 20:21

Not long then and you can get it out!
Lol at raiding his account!! We put all out child benefit etc in our savings account and will transfer to his account but we spent it on prezzies! Blush

Well I think Joshua is getting ill. He's been really crying tonight like he's upset, not like his usual crying. I did his temp and it was 37.3. He's snotty too and has been vouching and sneezing so gave him some calpol earlier and it seemed to calm him down after about 20 mins. Poor little monkey.

lizandlulu · 21/12/2011 22:07

oh no iwish i hope hes ok, cant be poorley for his first christmas!

re hair colour, i dont knwo what i am having, the hairdresser said i can decide on the day as she has booked me in for 45 mins so can do anything, she said try both some permanant colour and some semi permanant, see how i like it. i have never coloured my hair ever. i once bought a box of home dye, left it to gather dust then chucked itGrin

Iwish · 22/12/2011 12:21

I hope he's ok too. He's been a whinge bag all morning. Just spent about 35 mins screaming his head off so had to cancel my docs appt because I couldn't get him out the house!! Couldn't even bribe him with milk which usually works. He was awake twice again last night, 2:00 and 5:00, he was doing so well sleeping from 9:00ish till 5:30/6:30. Must have been a fluke.

Maybe you should go for semi perminant just in case you don't like it. I've just had red, copper and blonde highlights in.

lizandlulu · 22/12/2011 12:42

they are just odd things babies arent theyXmas Grin on tuesday i went over to a neighbours chalet and was saying what a good girl she was and hardly ever cried for no reason, when she launched int a massive meltdown, all for no reason!!! couldt talk over the crying. i think it might have been cause it was too hot in there for her, but honestly there was no need!

KLou111 · 22/12/2011 17:47

Awwwwww poor Joshua. He may be waking cos he's ill iwish fingers crossed it clears up soon. I am very surprised Euan didn't get ill when we did, it was awful.

Lol Liz at her screaming. They like to show us up lol.

Well, I got all upset this morning. Has a present arrive for Euan that I didn't know who off so rang my mum. She said it was off my eldest brother (wooden cube you push shapes through). Anyway, I said it was 2+ years so could've done with him asking what we needed. She asked if I'd got my other brothers and I did this morning too (wooden bricks and a brick trolley thing, one 2+ other 3+) he did ask what we needed and chose to ignore.
Anyway mum went off her head at me saying they had been busy and I was ungrateful!!! I got all upset and said she was wrong and I had already said I didn't want to sound ungrateful, but what was the point of asking what we needed and don't bloody listen!!! My eldest brother also sent something we already have so I asked him if he could cancel it before it got sent and my mum said I was mean!!! That I shouldn't have said anything. WTF!!!!!! How is that mean.
Anyway she even put the phone down on me. So unlike her. I think my brother living with them at the mo has rubbed off a bit of his obnoxiousness! Anyway she rang me later and more it less apologised. Very odd!!!

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 22/12/2011 19:39

Very strange klou, maybe she's just stressed out because it's christmas? You're not ungrateful, I wouldn't fancy having toys in the house that can't be used for about 2 years! It's pointless buying a baby toddlers toys! Although I can't wait till poppy can have one of those wooden carts Xmas Grin

Poor Joshua iwish, I hope he gets better soon, it's not nice for them is it? Your hair sounds nice, I imagine it to look like my mums as that's what she has done and it's gorgeous!

liz quite frankly I'm astounded you have never coloured your hair! Not even in a mad spur of the moment in your teens? Mine needs doing desperately but poppy won't stay with anyone else for 2-3 hours while I'm at the hairdressers. She may aswell be made out of velcro Xmas Hmm

madkatz do you still do that cranial wotsit thingumy with sophie? And it's not helping at all? Bless her. It must be so hard for you Xmas Sad

MadKatz · 22/12/2011 20:10

We've given up on the cranial osteopathy as it doesn't seem to be helping the nights and we only get a proportion of the costs back through Simply Health, so now costing us.

Hopefully it won't be too long now before she's over it.

lizandlulu · 22/12/2011 21:42

klounowt as strange as folk. why bother asking what you would like if yor not going to bother with it anyway? like you said, your mum is probably seeing more of your brothers side if hes living there.

melly nope, no colour even as a teenager, apart from a couple of summers using sun-inXmas Grin shames me to say, but your probably too young to know what that is Xmas Shock

madkatz is she not any better at all? are you getting much sleep at night? does anyone help you? you must be at your wits endSad

MadKatz · 23/12/2011 08:11

Last night wasn't so bad! She went down at half past midnight which was early for her and woke again at 4.45 for a feed, back down again at 5.30 and still down.

It's normally screaming and unsettled until about 2am (latest has been 3.30am) and then feed and sleep until 7.30 ish

I am sleeping when I can at night and then again in the mornings when I can until about 9.30 but I have things to do in the day, so can't sleep too long then. DH helps when he can in the early evenings and at weekends.

Ironically I'm getting used to it now and its only been the odd really bad night when I've just wanted to burst into tears and give up..... but I can't. I keep telling myself it's only a phase, it'll be over soon. Hopefully.

Iwish · 23/12/2011 11:32

Urgh. Joshua had his last feed at 9:20 last night and was up at 11:45 till 12:50. Then up at 3:45 till 4:15. Then up again at 6:15 till 6:45!! Then he was making noises from 7:30 so I sent nick in to get him at 8:20. He had another feed at 8:30. WTF??? What happened to my baby only waking once a night??

lizandlulu · 23/12/2011 12:45

yey madkatz i am glad it is getting better, even if only slightly better, at least its a step in the right direction
8iwish* i would def put it down to joshua not being well, but i would say once he is better, try not to pander to him in the night, like if hes just awake but not crying, dont go to him, leave it as long as you can before going to him. obviousley do whatever you feel is right tho. i am sure thats how i have got violet to sleep so well by leaving her in her cot, awake but not crying. with lulu, if she woke i would go and get her straight away, but i leave violet to settle herself back to sleep if she wakes.

she went to bed last night about 6.45 which was late for her as we had been out visiting, but she didnt wake till 9am! i left her in there till 9.30 tho as i was putting the washing on hte airer and doing a few jobs.
oh and i gave her her first taste of choc pudding last night, the one in the tiny tin, think its heinz, lulu totally loved it as a baby, well you should have seen the face she pulled! spat it straight outXmas Grin didnt even roll it about in her mouth!

her faves seem to be fruit purees mixed with baby rice. shes not too keen on savoury, but will presevere, she eoesnt eat enough to have any effect at the moXmas Smile

KLou111 · 23/12/2011 13:48

Bloody hell Liz Envy
Wish Euan would do that. He slept 6.45-4 and that was it, wide awake!!! Rob refused to bring him in with us and we ended up having an argument about it at 4.30 this morning, as he took him downstairs on the sofa.
Have even bought Euan a pillow that props him on his side, which worked, but he wanted his dummy as it kept coming out, so have decided to take it off him at sleep time after Xmas.
Thought he was getting better. It's almost as if he needs 9 hrs thats it, but we can't keep him up til 10!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 23/12/2011 20:32

You know liz I'm thinking half illness and half growth spurt. He's being really clingy too. And bloody hall 6:45 till 9:00!! That's fab. Tell her to come here and have a word with Joshua.
Yeh I do leave him for a while. Sometimes he goes back off and sometimes I have to go and get him.

klou I think Joshua usually needs about 11 hours ish but then after he's been up a hour he goes back to sleep again for half a hour or so.
Good luck with getting the dummy off him too.

Shattered! Nick has gone out and have had to get a very whingy very clingy baby bathed and to bed. He's just gone down but will be up again soon for his feed. Hope nick won't be long because he has no keys and I'll be upstairs feeding Joshie in the dark etc so he falls asleep.

Iwish · 23/12/2011 22:12

Omg men are stupid!! Am I right to be annoyed....
So DP went out as I said before. He was only going to asda and then his mums so said he wouldn't be long. He went out at about 5:45. His mum only lives 10mins away and asda is round he corner. So just after half 8 I text him and said that Joshua would be up for a feed soon and that I wouldn't be able to open the door so he said to leave the door open!!! We live in a nice area but still wouldn't leave the door open at night. Anyway he moaned at that and said I should just leave it open so I suggested he use the spare key his mum has. After a brief text argument he said to lock it then.
am I right to be annoyed that he wanted me to leave the door unlocked at night, near Xmas were our prezzies are on show and his precious son and me were upstairs?? We could have got burgled or anything?!!!

lizandlulu · 24/12/2011 08:11

thats just men iwish selfish and think of themselves (or is that just mine?) i think you have the right to be annoyed, especially as its dark out and this time of year everyone is getting robbedSad was it a big problem for his to use his mums key seeing as he was there anyway?

actually chris has been really nice this week, might even go as far as to say hes been lovely! things kind of came to a head on monday, he was pissing about with work and leaving dad on his own to cope, so i told him either go to twork or he would have to leave and that i couldnt be with someone who was going to abandon our family business, abandon my dad, leave me and dad to run it, all after leading me to believe after 12 years we was going to take it on when dad retires. he knows i dont say things i dont mean. like when we have an argument i dont say i dont love him, or ask him to leave. but this time i had had enough
anyway that seems to have got through to him

KLou111 · 24/12/2011 09:04

iwish its not really the time of year to leave doors open is it? (We never lock ours though lol, something we will have to get used to when we move back!)
We've got a key safe outside which we leave our keys in when we go away etc so we don't lose them, we had it in the midlands too, really good they are. Bought both sets of parents one as they kept having keys cut for us all!!

Sounds great Liz!! So happy you're both getting back on track with Chris. Hopefully he's started as he means to go on!

Well, we had the BEST sleep last night!! Tried a few things yesterday so not really sure what worked. Gave Euan porridge for breaky, all his milk feeds, had rice at bedtime instead if milk as switched them round, and, and don't shout at me. I put a pillow in his cot. He sleeps in ours so happily, and we have the movement monitor too and kept checking on him before we went to bed when either if us came upstairs.
Anyway something worked. We fell asleep with the tv in in bed and within 2 mins of me turning it off, Euan moaned. I thought oh here we go, but he went straight to sleep. That was 1.45. At 3.30 he started crying so after about 2 mins I got up for the loo and would go to him after, but he went off. 6.30 he had a little moan for about 10secs, then we both woke him at 8.30!
He looked soooo comfy and so happy.
Had a full feed, now sitting in bed watching cbeebies Xmas Grin
Feel soooo good. First time since he was born we've not gone him since we put him to bed. And NO DUMMY!! Had it to go to sleep, that's it.

lizandlulu · 24/12/2011 20:09

good boy euan!!! and well done you, hope it continuesXmas Smile well violet is in bed, lulu about to go, just got to sprinkle reindeer food and leave mince pie, carrot and milk out for santa (bloody things you have to do!) oh and leave the special magic key out so santa can get in cause we dont have a chimney.

merry christmas allXmas Smile

Iwish · 24/12/2011 20:45

Stupid men! He hasn't even mentioned it since.

Anywhoo......

Woohoo for your sleep klou. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

Awww liz I can't wait to be putting out mince pies etc for Santa when Joshie gets bigger. How exciting!

I have dosed Joshie up on calpol, saline nasal drops and have a tissue in his bedroom with olbas on. Hope he sleeps ok tonight. He's really really snotty and wakes himself up coughing and being snotty, poor little mite. Nick went to him last night and he was lay on his side Xmas Confused

KLou111 · 24/12/2011 21:12

I spoke to our neighbour about putting the pillow in and she said she put a pillow in her little ones bed at 3 months as he had a cold and was told to raise the head end of the bed, so that might help iwish, she also said, she never took the pillow back out as he loved it lol. Might be worth sticking a book or something under his cot?? (Or pillow under the sheet under his head)

Anyway,
JUST WANT TO WISH YOU ALL A FANTASTIC FIRST CHRISTMAS WITH YOUR BEAUUUUUUTIFUL LITTLE BUNDLES!!!! ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Xmas Grin
