Hahaha Xmas Grin it's a good job I won't have to shout it in the park, as you can't let greyhounds off the lead Xmas Grin I think it's a fab name so there Xmas Wink

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 02/12/2011 18:17

Guppy? Aren't guppys a type of fish? Can't call him that anyway, my brothers nickname is juppy Xmas Grin and George isn't doggy enough!

MadKatz · 02/12/2011 23:04

Evening ladies, hope you're all ok.

3 hours sleep last night, I wonder how many I'll get tonight Hmm

I am sooo fed up.... and physically and emotionally exhausted Sad

KLou111 · 03/12/2011 03:45

Well I am fooked!! I think Euan is teething. Since we've been home he's just been irritable all day, and waking a couple of times a night. He also has moments where he screams blue murder. Tbh its doing our heads in!!!! He's gonevfrom this happy smiley baby who you could leave to do his own thing, waking max once in rhe night to this whingy, crying, screamy baby who doesn't want to be put down!!!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 04/12/2011 10:18

Well, our happy baby seems to have reappeared. Only up once last night phew!!! Still a bit chuntery in the day time, almost as if he's frustrated. He's trying to sit up and roll over and he's annoyed he can't, poor little man :(

Iwish · 04/12/2011 16:56

Hi all. How are you?

Christmas tree up here so house looking all festive. Doesn't seem to be exciting to Joshua tho lol. He has been v sleepy yesterday and today and when he's been awake he's just been screaming. V strange.
He is back to his usual routine of waking twice a night but we have had a couple of nights where he only woke once (woohoo!).

madkatz how are you doing with the colic? Did u have more sleep last night?

klou glad your happy baby is back, get him to have words with Joshua lol. Joshua has 2 little tooth buds too, dreading teething!

liz how are you doing? Kicking chris in the ass yet?

melly love the new name! Are you excited for doggy tomorrow? How's poppy?

gruff hope you are ok too.

Iwish · 05/12/2011 14:48

Hmmm my child has gone from not sleeping in the day to having a 3 hour nap!! IF he had a long nap in the day before he would always wake for his feed but now he sleeps through his feed time. He has also had a few days when he has woke more at night, last night being one of them. He was asleep by 8:45 but up again at 9:00 and wouldn't settle till 9:45 then he was up again at 11, 2:50 and 6:30 then finally up for the day at 8:50.
Any clues why he's like this? Xx

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 05/12/2011 15:23

klou it does sound like he could be starting teething! Was he shoving his fingers in his mouth too?

iwish your tree looks lovely, we're getting ours out the loft sometime this week. Maybe Joshua is having a growth spurt? Poppys' sleep always goes a bit wappy when she has one.

Oh madkatz is she still no better?

Well Robbie arrived at 11.20, and he left at 11.50, he was too interested in Poppy, was straining and choking himself to try and get to her, he even tried jumping over the back of the settee! The woman who brought him said she didn't think she would trust him, he wasn't being aggressive, just too interested and quite boisterous. So we're going to keep introducing different dogs till we find the right one.

KLou111 · 05/12/2011 16:28

Tbh melly, Bella was like that. May be worth just keep visiting him until he settles down?
Yes he was dribbling and sucking hands but seems different now.

Growth spurt like melly said iwish. Think Euans on one too, only thing that shuts him up in the day is his bottle.

OP posts:
Iwish · 05/12/2011 16:50

I hope he's having a growth spurt melly don't fancy keeping his current sleep routine, it's not good lol.
Thanks, we thought Joshua might like the lights but he's just not bothered lol.
Hopefully you will find the right dog soon. My mum and dad have a king Charles and she is fab with kids. She had a good sniff at Joshua then left him alone.

Iwish · 05/12/2011 16:52

klou how many weeks is Euan now? Joshua is 11 weeks. Aparently growth spurts are around 3 months, 4 months (with some before and after too)
Joshua dribbles and sucks his hands too. He has 2 little white buds on hos gum at the bottom

lizandlulu · 05/12/2011 18:31

evening allSmile hope you are all well.

melly ahh are you gutted about the dog? but it must be for the best tho, you will find the right one.

iwish just as you thought joshua was improving, he must have thought 'ha ha suckers, i will keep them upGrin' bless him, is he getting easier to 'read'? like, can you tell whats up with him when hes crying?

klou how was euan last night? are you still feeling crap?

madkatz was last night any better for you all?

well i went out saturday night round lincoln drinking, i dont drink alot and didnt want to be ill sunday so i didnt have alot, and was ready to go home by 1, but was getting a lift home with a friend so had to wait for them to be ready, ended up getting in at 3! the baby woke at 6, so i got her a bottle and shes gone back to sleep when i got back, and eventually woke at 9, having had 13 hours sleep in total!!
i am so so lucky for her to be like that.

i think i got about 2 and a half hours sleep in total, chris was out too and i woke up when he got in, and kept going hot and cold, then lulu was up at 7.30, but slept like a log last nightGrin

things between me and chris are still not good, its been strained all weekend, i tried to talk to him last night but he didnt want to know so i left it. but hes come home from work nice as pie today. odd, just have to take him as he comes!

KLou111 · 05/12/2011 19:23

Sounds like Chris is a bit take him as Ye comes Liz
Still feeling like shite, more because I have a stinking cold which I am desperately trying to keep from Euan He slept til 3 then woke at 6. I'd only just fell back to sleep around 4.45 so Rob tried to settle him and eventually brought him in with us and he kept rolling over to Rob and pushing him out lol!

He's 16+2 now iwish so coming up 4 months but he's always been a week early with spurts.
Little piggy has been eating rusks in the end. Has his 2tsp rice and 1oz milk mixed mid morning (doing it a bit thicker now) and rusk at 4.30/5pm with 1oz milk (maybe slightly more) AND all his milk feeds!! I don't want him to get a sweet tooth though so he won't get them for long. He just doesn't seem satisfied at the moment with milk and cries for food, which he's never done before, even on growth spurts. Got hv appt Thursday for his jabs so going to start weaning him properly from this weekend after we've spoke to her as he'll be 17 weeks Saturday.

OP posts:
MadKatz · 05/12/2011 20:37

Still struggling here, only 3 hours sleep last night.

Seeing GP re something else tomorrow so will mention it....again Confused

Iwish · 06/12/2011 11:32

liz still no idea what his cries are for lol. Don't think I ever will do. Hope you enjoyed your night out. Men are wierd!! Hope he carries on being nice tho.

klou these growth spurts are a nightmare!! He did loads of feeding last night lol. He was fed at 3:30, 4:50 and 6:15 each time for 15-20 mins (that's usually a full feed length for him) then he was feeding 8:00 till 9:00 then woke up when I put him down to sleep, we had screaming until he decided he could fit more food in at 10:40 and was feeding till 11:05 then we had more screaming until he had had enough and fell asleep at about 11:30. He was tired which was why he was crying but wouldn't go to sleep!! Aargh!
My friend started weaning her LO at 17 weeks and she's doing fab. She's on mushed up fruit and veg at the moment.
You know the zip cover on your matrix. Can you zip it off? I can't get mine off.

madkatz sorry you are having such crap sleep. Let us know what your doc says. Joshua is still screaming 80% of the day which Is doing my head in. He is enough to put people off children lol.

WombOnTheBroom · 06/12/2011 13:23

Hi All. Sorry have been unbelievably busy - not even sure why! So much happened with all of you - think I've caught up... this might be a long one!

Liz - I hope Chris is being at least okay today. Sounds like he needs a bloody good kick up the a*. Is your dad okay after the police thing? And good for you for going out - bloody hell - I don't think I could make it to midnight, let alone 3am Grin

Klou - blimey 16 weeks already - wowser. I think Flo's about 18 weeks now. It's flying by. We've not started on solids yet as I can't be doing with the mess. She seems fine on milk so far so will spin it out as long as we can.

Madkatz - you poor thing - are you able to get any sleep during the day at all? even when your DP gets in? You must be shattered. Big hugs.

Melly I love your christmas name. Shame about Robbie but it sounds like the rehoming lady has her head screwed on - it's not in their interests to rehome a dog somewhere that it's not going to work out. My mum and dad have taken on a springer that had five homes before them - he's a lovely dog and fine around our kids but he's better off at a house without them where he can get a bit of peace and quiet. I love Sprocket as a name. It was the name of the dog on Fraggle Rock when I was a kid - you'll be too young to remember - you probably weren't even born Xmas Smile but look it up on you tube. He was great!

Iwish - that does sound a lot like a growth spurt. I find they bugger up the sleeping for about a week and then it settles down a bit. Weird about the crying during the day - must be so hard. Have they definitely ruled out silent reflux or dairy intolerance?

All is fine here. Flo has been teething quite a lot and is pretty tired as a result. She's been really bitey today so she's been learning that bitey = no milk! Poor poppet. She's rolling and keeps trying to sit up at the moment. Tom is doing great. His potty training has been hellish (wees fine, poos disastrous) but we seem to be turning a corner on it. We had some photos done at the weekend - we should get them through today. I hope so because I want to frame some of them for christmas pressies for the grandparents.

We're off this weekend up north. It's my birthday on the sunday but instead of doing something lovely... we'll be having lunch with DH's uncle and aunt, and then travelling four hours back home. Deep, deep joy... Hopefully we'll get to do something nice the week after. I know that on the Sunday we're going to go on the Nene Valley Railway to see Father Christmas. I'm really excited - is that sad?

KLou111 · 06/12/2011 13:24

Haven't tried to get the cover off iwish tbh so not sure. Is it in the instructions?
Sounds like a right feeding frenzy! Euey not that bad lol. He's been fast asleep since 11.30 without his rice too!!
Hope things get better for you and madkatz soon x

Euey stirring, I spoke too soon!

Iwish · 06/12/2011 16:13

Hi womb long time no see!! Omg it is so hard with all the crying! Bouncing him up and down helps to calm him. Even his dummy calms him but 9/10 he doesn't want it. Wish he would do and we would have an easier life. I've cut out dairy completely for a week but it didn't make a difference. I've also asked the doc (2 different docs) if it could be reflux and they said they doubt it's reflux. The last doc gave me lactulose in case he's having problems pooping but it seems that however much he poops he's still unhappy but we have only tried that for a few days up to now. So basically I'm stuck!
Ouch at the biting!! Good job she is starting to understand biting isn't good lol!
Where about do you go up north? Happy birthday for Sunday!!

Hmmm we stupidly put the instructions in the box in the loft.
So you must leave it on when you sit the car seat up in the car. Do you leave the hood on too?
Yeh it was a feeding frenzy! He's kind of heading the same way again today. Feed at 9:10, 11:15, 1:50, 4:00. Hurry up and sod off growth spurt!!
Clever Euan sleeping so long without his rice!

lizandlulu · 07/12/2011 19:17

evening all

i started a thread in weaning, just to ask a simple question, idnt go down well!Grin its here mumsnet

KLou111 · 07/12/2011 19:52

Just posted on there Liz to give you a bit of back up. Bloody idiots!!!

iwish I've left the hood on, just folded it back, so not sure about removing it :)

OP posts:
KLou111 · 07/12/2011 19:55

Oh yeah Liz what would they say to me, we bought a load of jars today ready for weaning. They'd prob have a go about that too.
How are you feeding her? I'm putting the tiniest bit on the spoon and scooping it off with his top gum. I found too much and he spits it out, but a tiny bit he swallows and opens his mouth straight away for more!
