Iwish · 22/11/2011 19:57

Ok please keep your fingers crossed for me... I put Joshua to bed at 7:50. Please keep your fingers crossed that he will stay there till 8am tomorrow.

MadKatz · 22/11/2011 23:46

iwish have tried colief and it didn't work. Even if it had we would have had to pay for it as they won't prescribe it here unless it is for a proven lactose intolerance.
Currently sat downstairs with Sophie asleep on my lap (between crying bouts) wondering what to do/think- DH and I keep arguing over this colic, I know it's only the frustration and tiredness coming out. But tonight when it started at 10pm he said he wanted to try dentinox (the only thing we haven't tried yet) and that there must be something else we can do as he can't cope with her crying anymore. I'm so angry and frustrated with him, it's all about him, he's not the one up with her dealing with the 3-4 hours a night inconsolable crying Sad

Iwish · 23/11/2011 09:57

Oh madkatz I'm so sorry, you are having such an awful time. Have your docs ruled out reflux? The only other suggestion I can make is to try and cut out different parts of your diet and see if anything helps. Maybe try and completely cut out dairy in case she has a dairy intolerance. Things like garlic, onions and tomatoes can affect them too.
It's so hard when you are the only one up in the night. I get frustrated with dp too because I have Joshua all day then when he comes home from work he maybe has him for about a hour and I do the rest. And that's broken up time.
Does he k ow how it's affecting you too? I think men just think that they crying etc doesn't bother us!

Well Joshua didn't stay in bed. He was back up at 8:35 and couldn't get him back down till 9:30! He then slept till 3:30 and was fed and in bed for 3:50 then was up at 6:55 for a feed then back to sleep till 8:25.
But once I put him to bed at 3:50 I couldn't sleep! I was still awake at 5:30 aaarrrggghhh!!!

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 23/11/2011 19:24

Hey all sorry I haven't been on I've been sorting things out for our soon-to-be new arrival!

liz i can't believe that! That's ridiculous, did someone report you or did the police just put 2+2 together and got 5? I hope chris pulls himself together soon, it's not fair on you! And wtf was your dad thinking taking that lad back on??

iwish so joshua's sleeping fairly good at night now then I take it? Bet you're pleased! Physio sounds fun you brazen hussy Wink weird.

madkatz I so hope it gets better for you soon, I have no advice other than what iwish suggested re cutting out certain foods! It's so hard being the only person who has to deal with it constantly. Men just don't get it, they're out at work all day so they don't know what it's like to have a crying baby all day. Chin up, it will pass :)

Iwish · 23/11/2011 20:28

Yeh his sleeping isn't too bag now melly just need to get him to bed earlier! ATM its like 9:30. Sometimes it has been 9:00 but I'd love it to be 8:00. He only seems to have 11 hours sleep at night. Wish it was 12.
How does poppy sleep?

Joshua has started doing something really cute... He wakes up and makes noises in his cot and when I go into his bedroom and he sees me he does a massive smile with his mouth wide open and starts flinging his arms round in excitement. Soooo cute!!

Iwish · 24/11/2011 20:10

Me again.....

Managed to go to baby massage and actually join in this time!! Well we did half of it anyway and he seemed to like it.

How is everyone else?

MadKatz · 24/11/2011 20:36

hi Iwish. we are now trying dentinox colic drops. Sophie hates the taste - lots of tears - but we are persevering. Going back for our second session of craneal osteopathy tomorrow.

Can't believe she's 6 weeks old tomorrow!

Iwish · 24/11/2011 21:10

Wow 6 weeks!! That has gone so fast! I hope the next session helps her. What exactly do they do?

Joshua is 9 1/2 weeks now. Hopefully when he hits 12 weeks the colic will sod off, I'm bored of it now lol!

lizandlulu · 24/11/2011 21:43

evening all, i am still hanging in there, not killed anyone just yet! hope you are all well and will prob be back tomorrow or sat to fill you all in

MadKatz · 25/11/2011 00:08

Its just like small extremely slow movements over her torso and head. It sometimes looks like he isn't doing anything, but the areas he's worked on are warm after he's finished and somtimes red with the warmth. It must be working a bit as she sleeps through the sessions and is very relaxed and has definitely been more chilled out generally over the last week, apart from the colicky hours. it is such a calming room and so quiet while she is being treated, you could hear a pin drop - I almost fell asleep there last week!

Am fed up with it too but must be coping with it a bit better as I'm not getting so emotional or upset when she is. I keep telling myself its a phase and will pass and it's nothing we're doing to cause it. but most importantly, we are (hopefully) half way now to the finish line, although we will have to wait and see as my Dad told me yesterday that I was really badly colicky for 7 months Hmm

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 26/11/2011 10:05

Blimey madkatz 6 weeks already! Sounds like she enjoys the cranial osteopathy lol bless her. Not very helpful of your dad though is it?

iwish that's so cute! I love it when you go to them and they give you the biggest smile ever! Poppy sleeps (usually) from half 7ish till 8 (yes, 30 minutes!), then till about 2, then till about 5-6ish, then till 8-9ish lol!

How you doing liz?

Well, we're going to test-walk our dog-to-be tomorrow! Hopefully he'll walk nicely with the pram and my allergy is ok. If he does go nicely with the pram and I'm not allergic to him we'll be bringing him home next weekend! Would link to him but I'm on my phone, if you go to 'lincolnshire greyhound trust' website, and go to 'pics of dogs needing new homes (new dogs added 18th nov)' he's the first one, Robbie! Soooooo excited! :o

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 26/11/2011 10:06

Oh and poppy got her 2nd tooth on thursday! She's over 5 months old already Shock

lizandlulu · 26/11/2011 15:44

hiya all, i am ok, think chris is getting back to himself. there was a couple of days when he stayed in bed all day, said he didnt need any help or need to talk to someone, said he wasnt going to go to work ever againHmm and he didnt need any money cause he doesnt have any billsHmm

i honestly didnt think we could get through it, and still have my doubts/. its not just a job, its my families living, my future, my dad has given him everything he can and he is still not happy, i think he has had too much money and its gone to his head. he bought a shogun last friday, then saturday said he didnt want it!
but hes been to work today, but now gone racing with his mates, againHmm but told lulu he was taking us out tomorrow. dont get me wrong, i can go anywhere on my own, i dont need him to take us, but he wasned to spend the day with us (for a change)

he is a rap husband and crap dad and the opnly thing he did well was go to work and look after the yard and earn money, if hes not going to do that then theres not much point. but he seems to be coming back to normal.

madkatz glad something is helping!

melly 2 teeth!! is sho ok with them or do they upset her? is she having food yet?

iwish hope your ok and still coping well?

lizandlulu · 28/11/2011 13:02

have i scared you all off with my moaning???!!
well heres some more!

he went sodding racing yesterday, he laid in bed till 9.30, he was angling to go racing, he kapt saying 'shall we go racing then?' he wanted me to say 'you go dear and hve a good time' but he'd told lulu we was going out so i thought sod him. then dad rang and over something trivial and to do with work, chris started an argument and stormed off to the racing anyway. sssooooooo i took the kids swimming and that was that.

i cant bring myself to be mice to him at the moment. he tried to be nice when he got home about 8, picking up lulus towel and offerning to make me a drink, but i just cant do it jsut yet. i might be being stubborn but hes crossed a line this time and i just cant.

on the plus side, violet liked swimming, she was fast asleep when we went and i had to wake her to change her, but we was in there for 30 mins and she just went along with it and looked at everything.

and she wont be long till shes turning over, she keeps going onto her side

and her teeth dont seem to be bothering her much lately.

hows everything with you lot?

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/11/2011 09:10

Oh liz what a mess! He doesn't seem to give a toss about anything does he? He needs a serious reality check!
It's good that violet enjoyed swimming, we keep meaning to take poppy but never get round to it! I think she'd hate it though, she still hates bathtime! Poppy has food now, we started on the babyrice at 17 weeks, she likes those heinz fruity custards followed by a strawberry petit filous :o

Picking up our new addition at the weekend! Can't bloody wait!

I need to find some bickiepegs, poppy had one on saturday off SIL and loved it!

Where's everyone else?

lizandlulu · 29/11/2011 09:28

our asdas sell them, i was looking at them when violets teeth were playing her up but say from 6 months on the box, so not good for her. but can imagine they would be reeally good for when she is old enough.

how many times a day does she have food? i am waiting abit longer till i give her more than rusk, she seems satisfied at the moment with what she has.

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/11/2011 09:36

She just has tea at night, she doesn't really need 3 meals yet! We got her some rusks the other day, me and poppy have half of one each :o our tesco doesn't sell bickiepegs, so going in town today to pick up the pixi fotos and to find some B.pegs!

lizandlulu · 29/11/2011 13:25

bleugh, i dont knwo how anyone can like rusksGrin lulu never liked them as a baby, but shes ate so many of violets they gave her constipation last weekGrin

me and chris still not speaking, sat here last night in silence. and will stay like that till he grows up which i dont think will be any time soon.

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/11/2011 21:13

Shock oh I loooooove rusks! They're just so yummy! And it's nice that me and poppy can share them :o

Chris needs to grow up. Is he still 'borrowing' that saluki or has he admitted to buying it?

MadKatz · 29/11/2011 22:14

Hello Ladies,

Trying to get back to some normality here after only 6 hours sleep in 48 Saturday and Sunday. Got a lie in this morning for 2 1/2 hours which has really helped, but a very clingy Sophie after being really sick after both mornng feeds this morning Sad

KLou111 · 30/11/2011 17:47

Hellllllllllooooo ladies :) how are we all this evening.

Well some normality back in our lives (boooooo!) Had a fab hol, going to book another for end Jan for 2 weeks. Euan was a dream, kept getting woken up at 5 most mornings which was really pissing us off cos we'd got him sleeping through. Sounded like furniture being dragged around but Rob went out a few times and couldn't wee anything.
Little man fast asleep on plane and ears didn't affect him at all. Only hiccup we had was on the way home, he just started crying for no reason and the only thing that shut him up was feed him. I'd only fed him an hour before! Stewardess was fab, she was doing the drinks etc and left everyone to cool my bottle!!
Euan started kind of sleeping on his side, only the top half, which is so cute, and he started giggling!! We filmed it too lol.
Rob was fab, doing so much, which was great for me, but lovely for him too.

madkatz so sorry about the colic. Don't know what to say. Gripe water was our saviour whenever we needed it. Poor little lady :( really frustrating for you both as you don't know what to do.

melly bet you can't wait to get your doggy!!!

iwish its so cute when they get so excited to see you isn't it! Hope Joshua starts sleeping for you longer soon.

And as for you Liz where do I start??? You poor thing. Bloody men can be such a pain in the arse! Have you tried sitting down and basically telling it how it is and laying the law down? It may cause an argument, but if you both get things off your chests I bet you'll feel heaps better (or would it make it worse??)
Big hugs to you.
Glad violet enjoying swimming. Supposed to take Euan tomorrow but going Sat instead as been into town today knackered cos robs parents here when we got back at 9.30pm and all I wanted to do was go to bed watch tv and sleep! So that's tonight instead lol and going to have a lazy morning in bed with my boys tomorrow :)

Sorry for huge post lol!!!

Ps, never tried rusks!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 30/11/2011 19:30

melly i have not asked him about the dog but its still hereHmm the rightful ownder must really be missing it by now dont you think!

madkatz ohh i do feel for you, lack of sleep is awful, i hope you get some solid sleep soonSmile

klou WELCOME HOME!!!!! glad you had a good time and he was good for you. good of the stewardess doing your bottleGrin spose people would rather wiat for thier drinks than hear a crying baby.

re my situation, no i havent tried actually sitting down to talk, its near on impossible as if i say something he doesnt like he just walks out, i have been here time and time again. we have pretty much not spoken 2 words since sunday. but he is trying to make it up cause he text me to see if i wanted to go to trafford centre, just us 2 in december. i want a bloody apology.

KLou111 · 02/12/2011 08:08

Which rusks do you use Liz? Going to get some for the little man for next week.

Well, we put up our first tree yesterday :) the fake one in the conservatory. Getting the real one for our lounge tomorrow can't wait :)

OP posts:
SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 02/12/2011 14:33

Welcome back klou! Xmas Envy I use the reduced sugar rusks, they have more fat in though. I figured more fat is better than more sugar!

Blimey liz I bet those people are really missing their dog! How long has he been "borrowing" it now? Has he grown up yet?

madkatz how are you getting on now? Is Sophie any better with the colic?

Well the rescue rang me earlier and they said they will drop robbie off on monday between 11 and 1! We won't have time to collect him so the best option is for them to bring him here.

Any thoughts on dog names? We don't like Robbie. I like sprocket Xmas Grin

lizandlulu · 02/12/2011 17:55

sprocket, melly....really???? imagine shouting that in the parkGrin

klou i use the wholemeal ones, they seem to mash up easier than the original ones.
