Flutter and Bonkerz
Sending your little one's BIG get well vibes! You poor ladies! Hope your babies are on the mend soon.

SH, glad Lucas did well in his op.

Jaysfirst · 30/12/2005 14:59

flutter and Bonkerz, my thoughts and wishes ae with you both, must be a real trying time right now, god flutter i cant imagine how you felt when baby was turning blue and having breathing probs, not something you expect to happen, fingers crossed you and Bonkerz are holding up!

MW eventually this morning, all ok, am 40+1, shes coming out to me next tuesday for a sweep if nothings happened, and shes has booked me in for an induction should nothing be happening on the 9th Jan...seems like forever to go !!

Wondering how George is??? and the rest of our bunch who havn't had bubs yet.

Whats everyone doing for new yrs? since we dont have our wee one yet we are going to go to our local indian for a steaming curry, then next door to the local pub for one, cant see me staying out till all hours but will be nice to end the yr with just me and DH and some good food. Should be about before then, in case i am not, i hope everyone has a wicked new yr, and see you in 2006! Looks like i will be on the Due in Jan thread!

babygibbon · 30/12/2005 19:44

Bonkerz and FB so sorry to hear about your bubs and my fingers are crossed for speedy recovery of them both. I can completely understand why you're so GRRRR at the doctors.

Still waiting here, sweep first thing tomorrow (41 weeks), and I'm hoping I will therefore be spending NYE giving birth. Knowing my luck, I'll spend being grumpy and fed up. I'm cooking up a feast tonight for tomorrow night so I can put my feet up, we've got a bottle of bubbly and I intend to have two glasses even if I'm still pregnant.

I just hope the midwife will book me in for an induction asap if the sweep doesn't work...

Conqueen, my back ache has got worse the last couple of days and the BH have got a little stronger, but this all happened last time and I still had to be induced. Still, hopefully it'll mean my cervix is favourable for the sweep. How did yours go?

bigbaubleeyes · 30/12/2005 20:17

BABYG Thanks for posting on other thread - all the very best for your sweep tomorrow.

Flutter - how awful thoughts are with you.

Awww george huge congrates on the birth of Jake. You take it easy hun and will catch up soon.

awayninahmanger · 30/12/2005 23:39

george, scully, congrats!
Flutter so sorry to hear about George, what a stressful time you've had.
Sorry not to post sooner but since doing his duty manfully with the birth p has been catching up with work and it's been manic looking after ds and dd! she is a big baby, 8lb 10oz and really cuddly (and hungry!) Love her so much. Not decided on name but Ariana Jennifer probably.
Short and fairly uneventful birth except we couldn't find ds's babysitters cos they'd gone for a curry and their mobile network didn't operate in the curryhouse so p had to drag in some rather merry substitutes from the pub, luckily ds didn't wake up and the designated sitters arrived eventually - still once my waters had broken (middle of Eastenders, damn) we felt we should go! or rather I did. god I'd forgotten how much it hurts! had a bully of a midwife too!
Loving having two children, we had half an hour cartoon time tonight with Arianna curled up like a cat on my lap and Louis leaning against me with my arm round him - perfect. What a good start to a new year. All that was lacking was the twinkling lights - our ancient fairy lights fused and p made such a fuss about finding spare bulbs (which I had apparently misplaced) instead of spending a tenner on a new set that I just heaped on the tinsel and glitter for a quiet-ish life. Will get the works next year tho.
Not doing the pregnancy thing again! this is it!
Wishing everyone well and look forward to hearing more, George, when you can ... xx
Glad to hear the op went well sh. I'll try to get on again soon but being at home with two children is a LOT busier than my 'job' was ....

munz · 30/12/2005 23:46

Cadmum · 31/12/2005 00:28

Congrats George! Sorry about the section--hope you make a quick and full recovery.

conqueen · 31/12/2005 00:32

babygibbon,

sweep went well, painless infact ... but nothing has happened yet!

MW booked me in for tuesday am for induction ... got to be at hospital for 8.30am ... a hospital is hour away it means i will have to be up by 6am on the day ! (i know that this is norm for some women, but im used to getting up anytime after 9am!)

at least thugh i have a date for something to happen.... which is more than ive had for ages!

Hope that the back ache settles down

Sending hugs to all who are still waiting, those whove just had a beautiful baby (which is anyone who's just had one!)& those who's children are sick.

Jaysfirst · 31/12/2005 09:54

i just know i will be the last one here

Congrats to George, sounds ominious with the c section, but at least all is ok with you and Jake, sweet name.

Bored bored bored of waiting, is there anyone else waiting?????????

bigbaubleeyes · 31/12/2005 11:19

Jayfirst - I'm waiting and out of my head with it DH just keeps saying but its only three days to induction, which by the way CONQUEEN my datew and time for induction is the same as yours!

I've thought silly things like my body has been conning me for 9months and there isn't really a baby inside there OR anooyance at my body for not 'working properly' absolutely nosigns whatsoever - I would welcome a few BH just so I knew its was working!

Rach69 · 31/12/2005 11:57

Congratulations to George and good luck to all of you still waiting - lets hope for some New Year babes! We'll be waiting too from tomorrow (I'm due Wednesday) so come on over to the Jan thread and relax with us.

babygibbon · 31/12/2005 12:29

Congratulations George! Can't wait to hear the details.

Thanks for the invites for the Jan thread - we'll probably need 'em - and for popping over to check on us Iris and Rach69.

Conqueen and BBE - I'm also down for induction on Tuesday after a spectacularly depressing sweep (she had a quick feel and pronounced that I was nowhere near ready so she couldn't do a proper sweep ) I'm not starting till 4pm, with the intention of having the bub on Wed (although my last induction took 48 hours - in on Wed eve, gel, more gel Thurs PM, waters broken Fri AM, baby born Fri PM).

Am in two minds about this - pleased that I have a date and they're not going to make me wait and wait, but sad that it looks like it's going to be another induction. Still, as long as I have a healthy baby at the end of it, that's what counts.

We're also now redebating the girls name. We had Natalie because it means born at Christmas, but now feel that it's not as perfect as it was. Lets hope it's a boy!

Good luck Conqueen and BBE - let me know how it's going, and Jaysfirst, fingers crossed for you. When were you due?

babygibbon · 31/12/2005 12:42

Oh, forgot to say, midwife placed baby at between 9-9.5 lbs at present. I know these things are notoriously inaccurate but OH MY GOD! What sort of size will it reach before I give birth!!!!!It's an elephant

Jaysfirst · 31/12/2005 12:43

due date was 29th, so only two days over, feels like many more though i tell you!

Jaysfirst · 31/12/2005 12:45

@ the estimated weight!! MF hasnt mentioned anything to me at th size or weight possibilities, am guessing she will be average, which suits me!

ebbie22 · 31/12/2005 12:53

hello all, havent read thread as yet......congratulations on these that have poppedgd luck to these waiting...HAPPY NEW YEAR XXXX

scully · 31/12/2005 13:19

bg, they guestimated dd2's weight when I had my 36+4, and when she arrived at 41+1, given the time she had been in there, it was pretty accurate
congrats george looking forward to hearing the details & the name.
speaking of, dd2 is still nameless, although dh and I did actually manage to have a discussion about it last night, and decided that our first choice before she was born doesn't suit her
Midwife checked dd2's weight today and she has regained some of the weight she had lost and is almost back at her birthweight - yay. dd1 didn't lose or gain for a month so I'm very happy dd2 has managed to gain so quickly.
Have a great New Year everyone

Nemoinapeartree · 31/12/2005 15:33

Bg dont stress about estimated weights hun. I was told all the way through pregnancy and in labour that I was having another big baby [adam was 9lb1 at 15 days over]. Was told that Hannah was at least 8lb 7 but probably closer to 9lb so was a bit of a shock when she came out a tiny 6lb14..lol She is now 7lb7 and seems weird at 2 wks old she is still so tiny..lol

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 31/12/2005 17:15

Hi everyone,

Just to let you all know we bought DS home from hospital today as he had gone 24 hours without any extra Oxygen and had gone 48 hours without having to be ressusitated (sp).

I am so glad to have him home for new years eve there will be huge cuddles and kisses at 12am I can tell you, things were very very scarey for a little while and I can't stop looking at him to check his breathing now but we are still very happy.

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 31/12/2005 17:18

By the way how many are left, I know Jay is still waiting but who else
