Good Luck for tomorrow BB and the other ladies that are off to be induced.

babygibbon · 02/01/2006 19:51

Congratulations Kangel.

Looks like there's still a bit of excitement left for the due in December thread - with Jaysfirst on the way and three to be induced tomorrow (myself included), there should be some action this week!

I am having some crampy pains, they don't really feel like the BH I've been having but they're not regular either. I'm hoping this is my body preparing for labour and therefore inducing will be easier, but it wouldn't be the first time I've had pains and absolutely nothing has been happening...

Am taking a break from my very long to do list to be done by the time I go in tomorrow. The most important things are done, but there's still a good few things left, including packing my bag!

Good luck for in the next few days Jaysfirst, BBE, Conqueen and anyone else who I've forgotten (memory like a sieve!)

conqueen · 02/01/2006 19:54

just wanted to congratulate anyone whos had their bub's arrive, and send thoughts of goodness to all those ho are off in to be induced tommorow alongside myself!

hugs to all

iris66 · 03/01/2006 09:24

ei23 - you're more than welcome to come over to the Jan thread & have a winge with us (everyone else that has popped in for a chat from the Dec thread seems to have instantly gone into labour )

Good luck to those going off for inductions & hope Jaysfirst has her baby now (can't wait to hear!!)

bigbaubleeyes · 03/01/2006 10:02

Ei23 - Don't worry I am still here too MY INDUCTION HAS BEEN CANCELLED TIL TOMORROW I am v v upset and angry but have calmed down down after speaking to MW from unit for a full explanation - i have also been offered a full check later today - I dont blame any of us for being bitter!!!!

DH and I have been considering the 'care' we have recieved and have said we would definately look into going private.

ei23 · 03/01/2006 11:23

thanx iris i might just take you up on that offer!!
bbe, sorry about your induction being changed hun!! me and dp have been having that exact conversation about the a/n care!! he has said that he wants us to go private next time!! he sed hes not bothered about the cost cos at least the care will be better quality!!
good luck all the others who are having their babies today!! and good luck for your induction tomorrow bbe!!
has anyone heard from minnie?? has she popped?? i cant remember reading an announcement from her yet!!

scully · 03/01/2006 11:35

Happy New Year everyone! Good luck for any inductions this week, you'll have your babies very soon!
dd2 is now 9days old, and we are slowly getting used to being a family of 4. I'm still teary on and off, but I imagine that will hang around for a while yet. Feeding is going ok and she had gained a little more weight yesterday when weighed, so I'm hoping I can breastfeed exclusively for a while yet, something I didn't manage with dd1.
dd2 still without a name, although we are getting closer, down to a shortlist of 4

georgeandwigglyjake · 03/01/2006 12:12

Hi all,
Just a flying visit whilst the little one is asleep to say huge congratulations to everyone who has had their little ones whilst I've been off having mine.

Looks like we had a bit of a flurry over the last week.
I will be back to catch up properly later.

To everyone left waiting (Ei, you still here?), don't worry, it won't be long now & we can all share the chaos on the post-natal thread.

xxx

Posting for JaysFirst

Hi, just to let you know that Jay has given birth to baby Harriette.

03.01.2006
8.55am
9lbs 5oz
23.5 inches long (.5 inch off 2 foot long!)

Um, she will write up the labour story later I guess. But she is in for 48 hr plus observations due to water breaking then a 40 hour wait before birth. "True Labour" was about 8 hours for the 1st stage and 1.5 for the second. No water birth, she had to go it alone, the epidural didnt work as Jay has bad scarring on her back due to a disk operation and she didnt like the G&A.
She did really well, didnt even scream. Made my life easy!

Anyway, that's the scoop. Pictures on www.peanutmonkey.co.uk

babygibbon · 04/01/2006 14:31

Just a very quick message until I can post later.

DD 2 born this morning at 12.24am. Funnily enough she wasn't even induced - I went along to be induced after having pains for 24 hours, turned out to be 5cm dilated and a few hours later she was born! 8lb 7oz, no name yet.

Full story to be posted later...

Congratulations to Jaysfirst and I'll catch up later...

CONGRATS BABYG amd JAYFIRST - pleased you ok and your wait is over.

Ei23 - Are you still here? The wait is v agonising I have been sent home again today (DH says its like 'Groundhog' day the film) An assessment by the consultant first thing made him go 'hmmmm' asked for the scanner then told us our little lewis has been breach all this time! He specialises in breach babies and offered to do the turning thing but we declined and opted for CS tomorrow. He said 3% babies are breach and out of those only 15% are undiagnosed - all the MW came in to feel bump as it was apparently a slightly different presentation to the norm.

DH has changed his paternity leave and we quickly discussed arrangements for after the birth and od course re-evaluated what we would have to go thru. I have gone from watching Harry Potter with Lavender massages at home in early labour and using Bpool at Hopsital to inudction to CS - All I need now to happen is find out Lewis is a girl!!! Blimey wot a a few days. DH took my mam and I for meal to pass yet another day!!!!!

flutterbee · 04/01/2006 16:24

Congratulations BabyG - My God we are nearly there nearly everyone has popped.

MINNIE and Ei23 - I won't post for some days now so i hope by the time i get back on your have both delivered safely. Best wishes to you both.

Ei23 The prhase that we seem to get is 'any signs yet' oh man thats drove us up the wall we feel like texting or saying back 'computer sez no' (Little Britain Style) but you just have to remember why they're all asking - we'd be more peed off if no-one asked - still its doesn't make it any more bearable!!!

Check out 'Positive Induction Stories' thread in childbirth if needed HTH.

scully · 05/01/2006 14:39

Good luck to Minnie and Ei, you're so close now! Minnie, my dh also went back to work the day after we got home last week. I was very teary the night before, as by perfect coincidence my milk also came in that night but the next day things went ok and I coped ok with dd1 and dd2 on my own. It can seem daunting though, but you'll be fine, just lie down as soon as the baby has closed its eyes. I'm actually doing that this time and it's making a difference.
