Here we go ladies. A shiney new thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
greenlady78 · 23/10/2011 22:44

hi skeleton, it sounds amazing the amount of stuff you have! I would love to be able to make use of your offer, I have at the moment 2 sleepsuits, 3 short sleeve and 3 long sleeve vests! (I am at the opposite spectrum of you, I need more not less Smile). But I live in London, would it be possible for me to pay for postage this way you think?

Otherwise please do not worry, I'm sure you will find a nice home for the 'excess' clothes you have!

Thank you for posting and once again wishing we all have a better week than last week! Hugs to all!

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 22:47

i reckon postage would be between £5-8 i'd be more than happy if you wanted to take some off my hands that way. What should I do just sort out say 10 of each or something? I could PM my account details to you and you could refund my postage costs once I know what they are.

Oeisha · 24/10/2011 06:13

"oh, sorry, have I woken you..."
"yes...but don't worry about it"
"ok" 2 seconds later...."knuuerrrghhh, KNNNUUUUUERRRRRGHHHHH"
[hbiscuit]

Is this a good excuse to go mental on ebay???

Have had to spend ages explaining to my furbabies that it's not out time yet...but now have a Gizzard sat on my arm/lap wanting lots of head kisses and fusses. He's watching the screen as I type :)

fish I'd be interested in cream/white stuff. As my SIL goes on longer without any sign of baby wanting out there's less of a chance of me getting her clothes and moses basket. Ah well.

ParsleyLion1 · 24/10/2011 07:25

oeisha I feel your pain. I was woken up at 3 by somebody rolling over and snoring in my ear.

I moved to the spare room and played the relaxation cd. On the plus side I still have no idea what it is about but maybe got 2 mins further in than usual. Smile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/10/2011 07:53

Ugh. Didn't get to sleep til 1am - thank all that's holy that for once I had a good gripping book on the go, which I wandered round the bedroom reading, because lying still was not very comfortable and I would have woken DH in the spare room had I been anywhere else.

It was a very odd night - it felt like I was dealing with the first stages of labour or something, rolling my hips and trying to block the discomfort using hypno techniques. I then went to sleep and had a very boring dream about buying DH some new shoes.

Whereabouts do you live fish - nowhere local to me I don't think. I haven't counted what we have, but I'm hoping it's enough for the first couple of weeks, then we might have to supplement it as we go!

Oeisha - I think you have my cat's doppelganger. Nothing will make him happy but to be kissed on the top of the head and have you rub your cheek over his little head - I have never met such a snugglepuss!

I wonder who will be the first of us to pop - what is the earliest possible date someone could go into labour full term? Can it really be 11th December??? That's not very far away at all!

I could give birth on 22nd Dec and still be full term - part of me is "noooo, not a Xmas baby" and part of me is "yaaaay - I'd get to meet my baby and stop feeling uncomfortable!"

Are we all going to keep chatting once we're mummies, not achey pregnant ladies? It'd be nice to arrange a meet up once we're all mobile again, wouldn't it? Meet these little ones who we've heard so much about :) P'raps we could have FB group for us all? Anyone who wants to add me send a PM and I'll hunt you out.

And fish - nice work on the suggestive post up-thread. Sorry I didn;t respond to it, but my brain couldn;t cope with innuendo just then, which is definitely not the norm, but oh well :-)

shonnomanom · 24/10/2011 07:54

Morning all
So glad the school hols are over. Dd does not take kindly to school holidays. Hopefully she will now be too tired to wake me in the middle of the night for bo apparent reason.

Wow fish that is a lot of baby clothes!

Hope everyone has a relatively stress free pain free day x

Ps, is anyone having recurring style dreams? I keep having very similar dreams. All involving me being in some phase of labour on Christmas day. It's been happening for well over a month now.

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 24/10/2011 09:10

Morning all,

sorry everyone had such bad nights. I slept ok apart from the beginnings of a cold. Sore throat and sinuses. I will not let it get to me though, no way i'm having a cold over half term time. I want a good week with my precious dd, I realised this morning how much I have missed out lovely lazy mornings at home-we had such a lovely cuddle in bed today, it was so nice not to have to get up and hassle her to get dressed ready for school.

as for the baby stuff, I am in worcester but i'm happy to send. In the intention of being fair I don't know what to do for the best-first come first served, or send out 3 or 4 suits to each of you who want some. I am going to keep 21 of each-thats a weeks worth of 3x times a day changes. I'm sure it averages out about that much what with sick, dribble, milk and explosive nappies in those early days. All the things i'm talking of are either newborn or 0-3. Mind you my massive baby may mean he's in and out of 0-3 in no time at all!

GiraffeAHolic · 24/10/2011 09:12

Thank you all so, so, much for all the kind thoughts it really meant a lot. I got through Friday, did my reading and managed communion.

Think I was running on autopilot as I've now completely lost my voice and have no energy at all (thank god for half term Smile)

Got a dreamgenii from eBay last night, looking forward to seeing if it makes a difference to my sleeping - or lack of.

How many baby clothes fish??? Shock

So far I have 2 long sleeved bodies, 3 short sleeves bodies in newborn and a 3-6 month playsuit and that is it.

Ah well still 10 more weeks to go Smile

greenlady78 · 24/10/2011 09:23

Hi ladies, I love the idea of continuing to chat once we have 'popped' (the thought of it made me slightly nervous Wink - after all we will want to talk about sore nipples, sleepless nights, weird colour poops (!), etc

skeleton That sounds lovely, will be more than happy to cover the costs! I am team blue, but dont mind if it is not a strictly boy colour scheme at all! I don't think the baby will either, all they need is to be comfy and warm Smile

Let me know what you woud like to do! Many, many thanks!!!!!!!! xxx

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/10/2011 09:29

har har - I think the doctor's receptionist is in actual physical pain at having to hand out an appointment for the same day to my time specification, but I got one at 5pm, so DH will be able to leave work 10 mins early and come and get me! Hurrah.

Giraffe - glad to hear you're doing OK. There are a lot of colds going ound and it's not surprising you're suffering with something what with the pregnancy and the funeral stuff. Take care of yourself.

Let me know how the dream genii works out - I am seriously considering one after last night...

greenlady78 · 24/10/2011 09:37

Hi giraffe, I feel terribly rude for not sending you some hugs! Huuugs!!!

Re. dreamgenii - some people love it...but others, like me, can't sleep with it! Shock I had a go at it and fidget the whole night and woke up with a sore neck - a friend of mine though loves it and snuggles up to it all day Hmm Hope you are all on category II and will enjoy it!

I ended up buying two extra hard pillows and now sleep in a sort of fortress....a pillow on my back (my poor husband gets squished all night, bless him...) and one for my knees and so far it works....I can sleep, like 4 hours a night! hahahaha I had to tell this joke....I wake up all the time, so already used to it really...boooooo!

Thanks Wishing everyone a lovely day!!!!

ParsleyLion1 · 24/10/2011 09:48

Glad it all went ok giraffe. There seem to be lots of colds etc going around. I suppose it's the time of year for it.

Good work cakes Grin

ghosteditor · 24/10/2011 09:50

hi ladies, gosh, busy weekend on the list! Please forgive me for not actually engaging with the various threads of conversation - am still so wiped out that I can't keep more than one thing in my head at a time. I felt like a zombie all weekend while dealing with SIL & PIL and then with my friends and their little one, so while it was lovely to see people and chat with my friend who is due on Jan 16th (not on this list BTW!) I'm not sure I was talking much sense. Still, went to bed reasonably early last night and am counting down the sleeps until DH comes home (4!)

cakes well done on the GP appt, it must have taken some doing Grin

giraffe how was the dreamgenii? I love mine - have had it since something like 14 weeks. I still roll on to my back sometimes but in general it keeps me on the left, and more importantly gives me something to support my hips (I had a few nights of bad hip pain from over-rotating around the bump in my sleep).

I think we'll graduate to a new post-natal list won't we? I think I've seen follow up lists for each bus where people have moved on to discussing bf-ing and scary nappies etc...

gosh, right, must do some work...

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/10/2011 09:58

ghost - your DH is home in 4 days? yay! So pleased for you, you must be thrilled.

greenlady - don't suppose you want to lob that dream genii over here, do you, so I can give it a test run?

Oh - and scary nappies???

miamama09 · 24/10/2011 10:03

Hi All, not been on for a few days, as was off work. Managed to get baby's room stripped, sanded and painted though so happy days.

So much to catch up on, I can't begin to start.
giraffe glad Friday went ok for you.
fish great news on the new nice consultant! I am seeing a new one early December, who seems to be a bit more open to the idea, so fingers crossed. We also got told Friday 13th might be a possibility should we end up getting ELCS - eek!

Needless to say, as soon as I started worrying about baby's movements or lack thereof, it proceeded to go mental with movements! think they do this to wind us up sometimes!

Loads of unecessary stresses here. My car has been in and out of garage for 2 weeks, found out it's going to cost about £600 to fix! I just want it sorted at this stage to be honest! But not what I need before Christmas.

Also, got my Dad and his new GF coming to visit at weekend - first time we are meeting her. Mum only died Christmas last year, but had been ill for years. So don't resent him, just not sure how I'm going to deal with it, [hhmm].

Anyway, just want chocolate and sleep.

ghosteditor · 24/10/2011 10:10

you don't think nappies are scary? a friend of mine who has a 2 year old has just come back to his cot to find the entire thing smeared with the contents of the nappy which her son managed to remove while they thought he was sleeping. That sounds pretty scary to me!!

ghosteditor · 24/10/2011 10:14

mia it sounds like a troublesome time for you - hope your run of luck changes and hope all goes well with your dad's visit.

I'm due Jan 12th but as I rather like the number 13 (it was my team shirt number for a while) I wouldn't mind at all if it was Friday the 13th. Plus that would give me ten whole days to recover before my own birthday! And as my mother keeps reminding me, it's my cousin's 18th birthday on Jan 12th so it would be rude of my child to steal his birthday celebration [hhmm] Mum keeps complaining that there are already loads of family birthdays in Nov/Dec/Jan and I should have planned it better - have restrained myself from saying that actually we started trying for a Sept baby but unfortunately these things don't always happen right on schedule. Ruuuuuude of her doncha think?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/10/2011 10:17

13 is my lucky number :) I'm hoping bubba arrives a day late.

and ghost - my sis banned me from having a spring baby (2 family b-days in Feb, 2 in March, 1 in April, plus Easter and Mothering Sunday) so I thought Jan was quite well organised of us, but do I get a thankyou...?

miamama09 · 24/10/2011 10:57

Yeah I don't mind the no. 13 either, we were married on 13th, so I think of it as more of a lucky number anyway.
we'll see!

shonnomanom · 24/10/2011 11:01

Our dd us a birthday hijacker. There is every chance this Lo will be too.
Well done getting your appointment cakes. I too had success today in getting an earlier physio appointment. Instead of 11nov its now this Thursday Grin

mia hope things start to get better for you x
ghost 4more sleeps! Yeah!
giraffe glad the weekend went smoothly for you and hope you start to feel better soon x

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/10/2011 11:26

For those of you who are geeky, Barclays is running fantasy football, but with investment portfolios!
www.barclaysfantasyfundmanager.co.uk/

I have to admit I did no research, just picked the ones I liked the sound of and chose how much to invest in them, but I'll be more strategic next month when things start moving! Anyone else want to play? We could start our own league to compare notes! (and no, I don't think you do have to be a Barclays customer)

If just one of you wants to play then let me know and I'll start a league and add you

redheadbedhead · 24/10/2011 11:30

hello everyone Smile

giraffe well done for getting through it and now just try and rest and look after yourself for a bit, you need and deserve it.

ghost great that your man is coming home soon, how nice for you Smile

mia good luck with the new GF!! Stay cool!!

fish we need vests but I feel like the Stuff Fairy has visited us in abundance lately so I'd rather other people got your wares Grin I'll pick some up somewhere soon I expect!

Speaking of the stuff fairy, we had an amazing day yesterday, which is incredible since it was spent ENTIRELY with my mother!! We ended up virtually kitting out the entire nursery courtesy of my mum, with a cot, mattress, changing table and wardrobe, and then my brother turned up with an entire ICandy set up with all the bits and a maxi-cosi car seat!! For free!!! hardly used!!! and loads of sleepsuits and hats and socks! I feel extremely lucky not to have spend that money myself, when we are struggling a bit financially and are going to need all the money we've saved for other things, like the mortgage when I'm not working. So now our house is absolutely full of stuff (even more than the junk it was already filled with) - just got a few more things to sort (like vests and nappies!) and the decorating to finish now!

I hope you ladies all have some luck too this week - i want to somehow share it about! On the stuff front if I do end up with extra things I don't need I'll let you all know and pass on.

by the way can't believe how strange it is having a pram in the house - feels totally mental!!

Also went to my 28wk apmt today and the midwife said the baby looks normal size now so I can stop worrying about it being a huge giant that I've got to somehow push out of my body!! hooray!! by the way she also gave me a kick counter that i HAVE to fill in otherwise the hospital get really on your case. I'm rubbish at that kind of thing, will probably forget about it entirely!

1stBumpityBump · 24/10/2011 11:49

Hello everyone :)
shonnomanom I haven't been having re-occurring dreams, but they do seem to be getting weirder and weirder .... Last night I was a groom in a gay marriage Confused. Very strange.
cakes I am due on the 8th, so full term for me will be the 18th Dec, that right? Is it 37 or 38 weeks they class as full term? Hmm my brain seems a bit pickled today! I'l be 38 weeks on xmas day!
giraffe Hope the dream genii works for you! I'm tempted to get one myself, but am coping okay atm surrounding myself with pillows! Soo glad we have a superkingsize bed (and so is DF!) Grin.
The only birthday in my family is my dads on the 28th Jan, and my cousin on the 28th Dec. So I think I should be ok to miss them! I am also team blue! Very jealous of all the baby clothes cakes, although i do have a friend who has 3 or 4 bin liners full of baby boy clothes she said I can have, so will be collecting them as soon as I have somewhere to put them!
A friend of mine gave birth to a baby girl yesterday in Australia, just seen the pics and she is beautiful! Although it has made me feel slightly impatient now!
Hope everyone is doing okay!

greenlady78 · 24/10/2011 11:53

makescake ha, I would send it our way if I had kept it! [hgrin] I sent it back as I could not use it at all and bought two pillows (less than 50% of the price instead)....still so stressed can't sleep properly either way [hbiscuit]

It is sooo sunny over here in London, it is 'lavely'! x

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/10/2011 12:14

37 weeks I was told!

I watched the 'from bump to breastfeeding' dvd today and found myself crying when the women all got to hold their newborns. I want to meet my baby now! (well... not really, cos it wouldn't be properly cooked, but you know what I mean)

Apologies for the immense threadjacking here, but I am properly bored and without stuff to do and it's just going to get worse I'm afraid! Hope you're all prepared to see lots of me!

ps- love the biscuit in the witch's hat!
