Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Just been thinking thinking about stress and wondering if hypnobirthing might help me. I've kinda dismissed it as I'm apparently not very susceptable to hypnotism/suggestion. Was wondering what those who are using it are using. That was poorly phrased. CDs, just books, any author in particular?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 13:17

Who said you weren't susceptible?

I'm using the Rainbow Relaxations CD which is part of the Marie Mongan course and has a book associated with it

Oeisha · 23/10/2011 13:26

I've tried relaxation techniques, that border on hypnosis (with and without professionals) to try and help me with depression/anxiety etc. They never really worked.
Still might have a look. What else will I have to do with my epic amounts of leave?! lol

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 13:28

lol - everyone needs a hobby!

I am incredibly suggestible - I trance out in the middle of conversations if someone says the 'wrong' thing! I told one of my friends I was doing hypnobirthing and she laughed and said she couldn;t think of anyone more suited to it Hmm

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 13:33

makes i'm just incredibly suggestive.........fnar fnar :)

ScaredtheDeesusOutofMe · 23/10/2011 13:46

Just downloaded 'All the Dead are Here' on my kindle. By happy coincidence I've just finished a book so I'll bump your DH's to the top of my list and start it today! Smile

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 14:24

Ha ha fish Grin

I'm using the same book and CD as cakes oeisha. Mainly to stop myself getting too stressy.

Nice cot bumpity reasonable price as well.

Oeisha · 23/10/2011 14:31

is it this one???

addictediam · 23/10/2011 14:36

Makescakes I had to stop driving during my last pg at around 25 weeks due to dizzyness, just falling asleep without warning and my joints being so soft they just popped out of place and I couldnt move (thankfully not problems this time)
I didn't mention it to dvla or insurance, I didn't see why I needed to, I wasnt driving therefore I wasn't a danger to anyone. It stopped happening after I gave birth, and I didn't drive again until I was sure I was fine.

Oeisha · 23/10/2011 14:42

Obviously didn't click post earlier...as my post about finding people boring and phasing out's gone...I basically, I blame them...and wouldn't be at all surprised if people phased out on me too.

Or is it the blue book? I can only find an ebay copy of the blue book with cd and it's got days on it and I will forget... Confused

Off for a nap.

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 14:44

oeisha mine has got a cover like this but it looks the same content.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 14:54

Oeisha - ditto what Parsley said just then - think it's the same book, different cover :)

Am getting on with my crochet today, when I get bored of that I have to locate my sewing-up needle that I bought specifically for my knitting. No idea where it's bloody vanished to, but I want to finish the cardie off now I have the cute buttons!

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 17:11

Finished painting. Feeling a bit pooped now. Will sit down a bit before putting everything away I think.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 17:20

I recommend a nap. I have re-discovered them this week and am converted :)

Dh got home early and we're going to get an Indian takeaway. Huzzah. Nice slob out evening together.

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 17:30

I might do that. I think I'll put the stuff away first though. Don't think I could face waking up andit's still there.

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 18:32

Do the links work, guys?

addictediam · 23/10/2011 18:38

yes fish they do, i went to buy for dh's kindle, then he admitted to not liking zombie very much! hmm, maybe i can find someone else to buy it for!

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 18:56

To be fair it's not very "zombie" really-I hate the zombie genre, but the stories aren't really about that IYSWIM-more about humans facing adversity. But fair enough it's not for everyone, because it's short stories some are are some aren't.

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 18:56

Ah, and congrats skeletonfish household, really exciting news!!!![hgrin]

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 20:22

I'm calling the GPs tomorrow about this dizziness. I wanted to open a book here so you can all bet on the options:

a) an appt after 5pm so DH can give me a lift
b) a housecall because I can't get there (keep dreaming, right, this isn;t the BBC)
c) not a chance of either

mummyzoe2012 · 23/10/2011 20:38

hiya all.

What a nightmare ive been having over the last few days!

to start with my wedding company has upped the price so we have had to cancle and re arrange so been busy doing that. well i say busy i mean stressing.

and then yesterday i was taken to hosbital by dp as Ame had not moved in 48 hours she is moving now but reduced movements so got a emergancy scan tomorrow and my 4d scan on the afternoon.

hope everyone is ok.

my mat leave/holidays start on sunday!

Oeisha · 23/10/2011 21:34

Oh! mummyzoe What a stressful time! Good luck for tomorrow. I'm sure Ame's just being a booger.

cakes I'm going with c. Same for me...

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 21:48

zoe ooof poor you sounds awful. These babies are such a worry x

cakes i'm going to go with a just because it sounds like you need some luck.

is anyone on here short of a vest or sleepsuit or 2? I am fortunate enought to be surrounded by people with older babies. I have been given bags and bags of newborn boy stuff. I have just sorted the last of it out today and I have 47 sleepsuits and 51 !!!!!! short sleeve vests and 34 long sleeve vests. I really don't think under any circs i'm going to need more than 21 of each. They are all vgc, boy blue or boy type, but some unisex and cream designs. I have got rid of any that had stains or damage, most look like they have never been worn. Would anyone like the excess? Maybe someone local to save postage.
