cakes I assume you've been to the GP about the dizzy spells and they've ruled out all the obvious things?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 08:39

Saw the MW on Thurs - she took blood pressure, checked the results from my blood tests - everything normal really. Not sure what else can be checked for...

I, too, fall asleep before the end of my hypno CD, but the blurb says that's fine as you take in the suggestions anyway, so I'm happy :-) I don't think I heard more than 2 minutes of it last night!

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 09:13

The only other thing I can think of cakes is an ear infection or something like that.

The trainer said it was ok for the mind to wander but I wasn't expecting to fall asleep only 2 mins in. I have no idea what it is about!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 09:21

Nah, ears are fine. I've had balance related dizziness before and this is more like low blood pressure or hypoglaecemic dizziness... even though it's neither. Just frustrating.

I've only heard the end of my CD once and I've been listening to it for... 4 months now? lol

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 09:23

cakes I wholly sympathise my lovely,my back is exactly the same, somedays groin pain, somedays hip pain, somedays shouders and upper back and most days ribs Some days are a combination of all. I too am really fed up with being pregnant. Quite miserable in fact. I'm finding sea salt baths help somewhat.

But i'm better in the mornings so i'm trying to be my most productive then. DH cleaned the house from top to bottom yesterday and he's cooking lunch for some friends today so i should just be able to chill and play with dd.

Today is a momentus occasion in the fish household-If I may gather your attention for a few moments to put in a shameless plug about my husband's book. By this afternoon, his zombie horror fiction book "All the dead are here" will be available on amazon kindle. It's a collection of short stories, not too gory in fact some of them are downright fantastic. Emotive reading.

If anyone is interested, i'll send you the link later once it's up and running. I'm extremely proud of him, it's been years in the making. Maybe it will lead to great things who knows.

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 09:34

Yay for the fish household Smile

Very seasonal Grin

ScaredtheDeesusOutofMe · 23/10/2011 09:39

Make sure you send me the link fish. Approx half of the books I currently have on my kindle are zombie/post-apocalyptic type reads so I'd definitely be interested. Also have my kindle linked to my twitter account so he'll get a nice plug there when I finish it! Grin

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 09:51

deesusCool, as soon as it's up i'll let you know. Thanks for that. He kindly asks if anyone who does read it can leave an amazon review as well.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 09:53

fish - so jealous of your bath. Only a shower here, though I did marinate under it for nearly half an hour last night!

shonnomanom · 23/10/2011 09:57

Congratulations to the house of fish!

cakes glad your feeling better this morning. Re dizzy- apparently its quite common at this stage. It's caused by more pressure being added due to the ever growing baby. My sil had it, she actually passed out at work twice. She found lots of rest, plenty of water and small and frequent food helped. It did ease off as she got further into the 3rd.

Back pain is horrible isn't it. Mine is all lower back and gets soo bad at times that my legs give. Physio appoint isn't for 3wks Hmm

Got up to put dd back to bed during the night and couldn't get back to sleep for nearly 2hours. So tired this morning.

On the plus side that's us hit the 30wk landmark today!

1stBumpityBump · 23/10/2011 10:09

Morning all :)
fish thats brilliant! How exciting for you both :)
cakes The not being able to drive is a bit crap! ... I know how you feel though, i have been taking driving lessons for the past 18 months! Got my test booked for a week tomorrow, and if they don't pass me I may be quite likely to strangle them!
Well the plasterer that I waited in for two days never bothered turning up! So bugger him, it's nothing a bit of thick lining paper wont sort. Spent all yesterday painting skirting boards and doors, and then had a rubbish sleep, just could not get comfy for the life of me. So needless to say I am feeling rather achy and rubbish today :(. Still there is more painting to be done, need to get the nursery finished as DF says we cant buy anything until it's done, as we don't really have anywhere to put anything.
On a brighter note, I am 29 weeks today! After throwing a strop moaning a few weeks ago that it was going too slowly, it now seems to be flying by! 11 weeks to go!

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 10:23

How annoying bumpity he obviously doesn't want the work ! Still sounds like you've got a good plan to get around it.

Here's to a productive painting day todaySmile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 10:26

I started an AIBU thread about the not driving and someone has said I have to inform the DVLA about the dizziness. Please tell me they're exagerrating - I wouldn't have to tell them about it unless it was a long term condition rather than a pregnancy side effect surely?
Great, now I'm really stressing. Why oh why did I do it?

ghosteditor · 23/10/2011 10:27

Fish congrats to your DH! I too am a post-apocalyptic junkie (in fact I did my dissertation on the same) but have stalled a bit as I feel i've already read the best stuff!

Cakes so sorry to hear about the dizziness and discomfort - take it easy hon.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 10:31

fish - so sorry - didn't see the bit about your DH til I saw the congratulations from others! I hope it all goes well and he gets lots of sales - is he doing lots of online promotion? It's the key to selling well (I've sold e-fiction in the past and know from experience that the self-promotion pays off).

Karmanna · 23/10/2011 10:48

Mornin all - hope you're having good Sundays!

Fish, congrats to your DH on the book! Is it only available on Kindle, as I don't have one... I love Zombies though!!

Cakes sorry you've been feeling low, but glad yo're feeling better today! The driving situation is a bit rubbish! Assume there are no buses / trains that could get you where you want to go?

Oh, everyone on this thread seem to be busy beavers, with redecorating, painting, etc etc. Makes me feel lazy. We're not preparing anything like that for birth as we live in rented accomodation and are planning to move to Sweden once Duckie's 5 months. We were planning on just having a moses basket in our bedroom to start off with... Our spare room is currently:
A) Freezing as it's only single glazing
B) Full of guitars, mics, keyboards, recording equipment (DH is a bit of a wannabe rock star!) :)
C) Too small / cramped to fit a cot (mainly due to point B)

I hope I'm not being naive in thinking that we could just put a basket in our room and that'd be fine...

I'm 28 weeks today - and offically just 5 weeks left at work before maternity leave - yei! I want to do a good handover but to be honest, I'm kind of getting to the stage stage where I'm a bit past caring now, particularly since I know I'm not coming back (although they don't know that yet). Better grit my teeth for the last bit though as I would like some good references...

ghosteditor · 23/10/2011 11:01

Cakes - er, no, not as you are not actually driving. Could cause hassle if dizziness wears off next week for example, or after the birth. You're doing the sensible thing for now though - however inconvenient it is, there's nothing else you can do in daily life that risks your life or someone else's to the same degree. And it'd be awful if you hurt yourself or sproglet at this stage. Can anyone in your bumps & babies class help a bit?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 11:05

Karmanna - in the same boat as you re: rented accommodation. A boon in some ways!

Baby is going in same room as us too - space requirement, but also what I prefer at first, anyway.

ghosteditor · 23/10/2011 11:07

And karmanna that's eminently sensible as you would probably want the baby in with you in the early months anyway. All this decorating is for us, not for the babies Grin

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 11:11

Thanks all,
karmanna you can read it on PC using the kindle app or a smart phone, iphone etc etc.

ParsleyLion1 · 23/10/2011 11:20

We're also doing general decorating. Not nursery stuff yet. I desparately need the spare room as have to escape snoring. Baby will be in with us for a while at least.

1stBumpityBump · 23/10/2011 12:11

cakes Just read the aibu thread, I wouldn't tell the DVLA either, that person mentioned it affecting your insurance, but surely if your not driving then there is no risk? And you wouldn't need your insurance Confused
Parsley Will be glad when this painting is over! And i too used to use the spare room as a snoring escape, until we started doing up baby's room then all DF's junk stuff has been dumped in the spare room, it also currently has a huge travel system and all associated bits on the bed as there is no more room on the floor!

So the painting is nearly finished ... just have to wait until my mum can come up on Tuesday to help me lining paper so i can paint the walls and that will be it! Can then get the cot ordered and find some drawers to put all lovely little baby things in! This is the cot we chose if anyone would like to have a look and tell me what you think :)

I have no idea if i have done that link right ...

1stBumpityBump · 23/10/2011 12:12

Yey i did! Grin

Oeisha · 23/10/2011 12:26

cakes Glad you're feeling better though!

fish congrats you you and DH! Grin Know lots of sci-fi/horror geeks, myself included, so, well, if I've missed the link yell at me a bit. I've even taught my nephew what to do in a zombie apocalypse (remove the head or destroy destroy the brain)...don't think his Mum knows, but, well, he was already talking about decappitating things, so I felt it was best to direct it towards zombies, not his little sister...

So, my day at work isn't stressful after all thanks to not being there. Another bout of stomach pains (though these ones felt more like the IBS/7h hospital wait) and headache starting at 3am meaning DH (and me frankly, feck 'em) wasn't going to let me go to work. That and missy managed to have some form of mental episode and was dancing about. 98 obvious hoovings between 3-5am. And frankly, she's not much slowed down since.

Will book in with doc tomorrow as this is the 2nd/3rd time. Seems to be no triggers that I can figure out, just frustrating. Have had to take codeine this time, so am very unimpressed with myself. Sad Don't feel too bad right now, so feel a little fraudulant, but hell, it's probably stress causing it all anyway (and I'm a massive stress-wuss thus).

DH and FIL are investigating the leak...there's lots of yelling up through the hole and turning on and off the shower...one minute it's not the inflow, next it is not... Confused Whatever it is it sounds heckspensive!

bumpity liking the cot! We don't need one that turns into a bed (we have beds in there already), but am Envy as they look so nice!

Ergh, the flashy lights are back.
