Taking liberties again Grin as there are only 5 posts to go on old thread. Hope everyone is well this morning!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
voodoomunkee · 10/10/2011 12:26

Good luck Caz and Cali I hope you get sorted one way or another! How many weeks are you now Cali? Have a feeling you are 2 ahead of me so like 38?
Not much happening here, rainy miserable day and stuck in the office!!! Yawn.

pandia · 10/10/2011 12:39

Good luck caz and cali! Caz I just read your post about sharing the journey etc and suddenly realised that this is it. I can't believe how hard it hit me. This really is it! Babies arriving soon for all of us. Where did the weeks go? I think I had just started to think that being pregnant and catching up with all you lovely ladies would go on for ever!! Caz thinking of you so much, and looking forward to hearing good news. I really hope everything goes quickly and smoothly for you. I'm not surprised you're full of anticipation. It's so exciting!
cali looking fw to hearing whether it's induction or bust!
I think I'm going to miss this group when all the babies have arrived!!

Caliphora · 10/10/2011 13:55

voodoo I'm 37 today :)

Meanwhile, the two ladies I was sharing a room with have had their babies and are now further up the corridor with their little bundles - so jealous!

No news yet, just lots of tedious waiting and noone coming to see me during visiting hours either.

Merlioness · 10/10/2011 14:54

Good luck Caz. Thinking of you! Not long till you hold your little screaming boy.

Cali good luck to you too

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 10/10/2011 15:32

Pandia,

I always thought that we would move ourselves onto the postnatal thread (if there is some such thing) and share the "joys" of having newborns together :o

My work car has gone :(, but getting on well with finishing up my newborn cardie, although have been having some cramping, but I wonder whether it's more due to being a bit dehydrated rather than any optimistic thought of bubs coming along, time will tell though...

cookie9 · 10/10/2011 16:11

Good luck for tomorrow Caz.

Hoping to hear you are in labour soon Cali

Folic will pm you just v hard to find the words

Bad cold here but managed tour of birth centre. Much more of hospital feel than I was expecting but liked the midwife we met.

SnoozleDoozle · 10/10/2011 16:50

Caz best of luck with the induction, hoping that it all goes smoothly. I know you have posted here with your downs as well as your ups, and I know from your posts that it hasn't been an easy experience for you at all. But you've been so strong through this pregnancy, and maybe this time tomorrow you'll have your boy in your arms.

Tomorrow is my last day at work (officially finish on Friday, but have leave to take). I can't wait.

neverinamillionyears · 10/10/2011 18:06

Ooooh good luck to Caz, Cali and LK all exciting stuff. Although I'm sure it's more exciting for us at the moment and just frustrating wait times for the ladies themselves. :)

Cali I'm surprised your 'houseguest' hasn't trundled up to visit you!

picked up our Joolz day pram etc today - v.cool. Felt so weird putting it together and seeing it there. It's now at my Mum's as she bought it and doesn't want me to have it in the house just yet. Saves me space so I don't mind.

On another note, my neighbour finally had her baby on Wednesday. She was 12 days overdue, so she went in to be induced. Baby was so comfortable inside he was hiding up, and not engaged so she ended up with a cs. He was born sometime later and a whopping 9lb 7oz!!!! She is only a small frame so she did really well. I guess that all those newborn clothes have gone back to the shop! Grin

Caliphora · 10/10/2011 18:50

never DP told her it's partners only on the ward :o

neverinamillionyears · 10/10/2011 19:11

thank christ for that then otherwise she may have tried to get comfy in the bed next door. Wink

voodoomunkee · 10/10/2011 19:44

Haha!! Cali PMA- take it that your hospitality is so fab she just wanted to stay!
I just sneezed and nearly forced the baby out. Head in pelvis and involuntary massive sneeze = ouch!!
I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps today. Work is playing havoc with my sanity. Can't go off earlier as just can't justify it financially. Sigh.
Caz hope you are chilling out. Am excited for you!
Cali no news?

Staceroo · 10/10/2011 20:06

Please please please can we not use cheesy nipples in the next thread title! Makes me cringe!!

So excited to hear news of movements all round, and two possible very imminent arrivals!!

I've found myself panicking a little inside, but trying to stay chilled out on the outside saying it's nothing. But the BHs are much more regular and occassionally combined with a throbbing pain down below. DH is away tonight, so defo hoping that nothing happens just yet!!

Found myself walking round tescos with my bra undone earlier!!! It was getting so tight and sore round the bottom, so undid it at about 3pm and sat at work with it undone (hoping noone could notice through my cardigan!) Then went to tescos on the way home to buy emergency bras!!

Folic want to pm you with a message, but I find it really hard to know what to say :(

kate393 · 10/10/2011 20:47

Good luck Caz.....almost there! So excited for you! And cali too....keep us posted if you can (also massive hurray for the nightmare houseguest going). Maybe 2 new imminent arrivals....kind of bringing it all home now!
Been for tour round midwife unit at hospital tonight....its really nice (well as nice as i think those kind of places can be). And have come home and finished hospital bag for baby now too, so im all set i think!
stace laughing at your bra story, have done the same myself! Grin

BuffyFan · 10/10/2011 20:59

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Caz and Cali good luck!!

Crap, emotional hormonal day here but it seems like nothing in comparison with imminent childbirth! I'm a bit of a control freak and so felt rubbish today having stuff taken back off me at work because I've had to accept I'm not coping as well as I'd like. But hooray - I don't have to present two workshops at a conference on Thursday thanks to a lovely colleague. Off to have a bath and an early night in the hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

Poppet45 · 10/10/2011 21:20

OOooh the sense of anticipation on this thread is palpable!!! Yey lovely ladies, many best wishes and lots of luck to you all! Staceroo the bra story made me laugh. Wait til the baby's here, with Jacob I was forever noticing my nursing bra was unclipped.... normally as you say halfway around Tescos. And speaking of which after a few attempts in recent days at licking and sniffing and lapping some milk from my boobs, Willow had her first ever proper breast feed today - at the tender age of 50 days - and for 20 whole minutes the little belter!!! I was amazed because frankly she's so small the logistics looked highly highly dubious! She's also moved into the going home room - mainly because their super busy but I've been told that maybe in two or three weeks she just might come home. That thought makes me so happy, but also so so scared. I want to take her monitor home for my sanity. And tbh I also think I've become institutionalised here. I'll miss the companionship of the mums and all the lovely, lovely MWs and okay I'll admit it the super dashing paediatricians, how terribly inappropriate but I have a crush on a few of them. Oh dear, must be my hormones... but its because of them I've got Willow and gosh they do look lovely in their blue scrubs. Wink
Oh and I sympathise with the friend who had the 9lb7ozer. Jacob was 9lb6 and I'm not particularly huge... and there was just no way he was coming out. Hey ho.

alicat10 · 10/10/2011 21:24

Gosh its all happening, maybe I'll be the last bump standing on 1st of Nov at this rate.

Cali & lk good luck and keep us posted.

Caz will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending losts of speedy dilation vibes if there can be such a thing.

Merlioness hope teeth are feeling better, anything extra being th rown at you to deal with can suddenly make it feel a bit unmanageable.

Well my gorgeous DD is 3 years old today - hard to believe the time has flown so quickly (and I made it through her weekend of parties and family invasions!).

Tjuice · 10/10/2011 21:31

Hi all - I have been away on my "babymoon" with DH - we took the train to Ã…rhus, a lovely little city on the other side of Denmark. Stayed in a posh suite in a nice hotel (same suite that Ice Cube stayed in which totally made my day ;)
and just ate in nice cafes and restaurants, wandered around, went to the cinema and an art museum. All lovely but totally knackering. My briliant mum and brother had flown over to look after DD for the weekend and they went back to the UK today so tomorrow counts as my first proper day of maternity leave! I don't even know what I will do.
I think I may do some yoga and take a nap...Then I may look at my spreadsheet of stuff to do and start on it ;) Yesterday I filled up my breastfeeding pillow with 3kg of millet husks - so can happily tick that off my list!

Well, well, well, Cali and caz - good luck! Hope all goes really well. You sound prepared and I can't wait to hear how it goes. Pretty exciting.

voodoo - congrats to your man getting offered both jobs - sweet! nice that you don't have to worry too much about cash.

ali - could I get your paypal/account details please? I would like to contribute - I just keep thinking about chip and her family and my heart aches...

Katiebeau · 10/10/2011 21:39

The very best of luck Caz. I hope it all goes amazingly smoothly and you get to hold Xander very soon.

Good luck Cali. I hope you escape soon back to you home (perhaps with you baby), especially now the house guest has gone!

Hello to everyone. 37 weeks today and getting "ancy". Pam, that jelly stuff? Everyday for the past couple of weeks but never Salmon pink or bloody sadly!!!!

BH's much stronger this time. I am spending some time bouncing on my birthing ball but I can't remember why we do this?? Blush

Alicat and Folic - thank you so much for taking on the organisation for Chip and Sylvie-Rose.

Poppet - big grin here for Willow's first breast feed. Fantastic news. And blue scrubs do something to a lady........

Bluetinkerbell · 10/10/2011 21:40

oooh ladies! wishing you all good luck with giving birth!
I wish you all have the births you want with or without pain relief, in the water or out the water, with nice handsome doctors and paediatricians (Wink Poppet) and lovely screaming babies at the end! Grin

big hugs for you all!

bumpandisaacsmum · 10/10/2011 22:30

Evening all, not quite sure how I am still awake - BH had me up from 3am Shock

Good luck for tomorrow Caz fingers crossed for a quick induction and a screaming Xander for you to cuddle.

Cali hope that your BP settles and they decide whether to induce or send you home. Yay at your extra house-dweller has gone, at least now the house is your own again.

merlion hope the dentist managed to sort tooth, not nice at the best of times!!

lk hope that things progress for you without too much discomfort & not too long xx

stace :o at bra story - I'm sure that we'll all have something similar at somepoint (I know that once DS pulled my top down on the bus without me realising and I had my boob out for half the bus journey!!!)

poppet so lovely to hear that Willow is doing well & is BFing from you - she has come such a long way in those 50days. Keep up the good work lil lady xx

Had MW do home visit yesterday to discuss homebirth, was really good and she was really positive and actively encouraging me that homebirth seemed the right place for me :) unfortunately the MWs in my "network" are short-staffed but know that the other 2networks in the trust are well staffed so it may not be a local MW. MW yet again comented that she would be suprised if I made it to term & even said that she wouldn't be suprised if she didn't see me at my 38week appt - scary thought that this could be soon!!!

Am 36 weeks today so hoping to hold out for 37weeks to ensure I can have homebirth. Saying that woke last night at 3 am with contractions that started uncomfortably and became painful with backache and were relatively regular....about 6am they started to settle but have been there all day. I will have 3-4hours where they start getting regular & painful then they tail off a little for about an hour before kicking in again. Nothing much seems to be happening so thinking it probably just BHs but getting annoying!!

Last day at work tomorrow :o if it is anything like today I will spend 3 hours just sat there doing nothing except asking "is there anything I can do?".

Anyway...off to try and get some sleep, night all hope everyone, bumps & willow stay safe xx

knockedupagain · 10/10/2011 23:27

Good luck Caz and Cali!

goldmaple · 10/10/2011 23:33

caz just wanted to say good luck and that I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! This time tomorrow you could be holding your little monkey!! Very excited for you and hope it goes smoothly and quickly (I actually hope that for us all:)

cali very glad your house guest is gone! Hope you get the induction or to go home - whichever you'd prefer. And hope if it is the induction that you have a little bundle of joy quickly and safely.

This is making it all seem very really! On the next thread we will have lots of new arrivals!

bump and snoozle yay for maternity leave!

poppet lovely to hear about willow BFing! That must be so nice to cuddle her!

jabberwocky · 11/10/2011 02:32

I've been a friend of chipmonkey's for many years and would really like to contribute the rose. I hang out on the December 06 antenatal thread for the most part these days and will try to check back in on your AN thread around Christmas.

Merlioness · 11/10/2011 04:36

Poppet fantastic news about Willow!
alicat ohhh...3 years old. She?s a big girl then already!
bump :o for boob out on the bus. Hope you can enjoy your last day of work and that you manage some sleep
Tooth is ok, but the surrounding bone is in bad shape. Dentist says that this has been lingering for about a year and only now broke through, so I?m on 2 different ABs for a week, before a partial root canal is done, which is less aggressive than the entire procedure, but will see me through childbirth and he reckons quite a while before it needs to be done fully. So now I?m just praying that the ABs kick in soon, as I slept a whopping 1.5 hours last night and just kept crying.

Folicacid · 11/10/2011 09:11

Good luck Caz!

Good days to all you other lovely ladies.

Of course you can jabberwocky x
