not sure I can follow a comment on nipple cheese Blush

mrsa after last night I know you're completely right. managed to have the longest and best sleep ive had in weeks (obviously needed it after the night before). Cramps still there but not getting any worse so whereas yesterday i didnt want to leave the house, am going to crack on today - potential arrival or not Wink

caz hope you're ok

oh, and i was 36 weeks yeterday! To be fair, I am nearly 36 years old but not just yet ....

voodoomunkee · 09/10/2011 10:51

Clearly pam you are keeping the tradition of naming threads- next thread has to have nipple cheese in the title!!!! Hahaha.
Lk I do wonder if you are just having a slow build up? Uncomfy but so exciting it could be the start!
Pam I've had similar to you re the tmi. I know it wasn't a show though as in the past they were blood streaked or pink. Nice eh. Leave dignity at the door when you get that bfp!
Ah well. I'm applying for a job.... Spoken to the person who is in charge of the job a d they've told me it isnt an immediate start. It's a funded research post and is too good an opportunity to at least not stuck an application in for. It's my perfect job! Sigh. Off to make beef casserole again. It went down so well last week or the week before there have been requests for it today. Also made roast chicken dinner last night.... Not like me at all!
Hope everyone is ok.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 09/10/2011 11:29

Morning all,

I am officially knackered, had to clean out my work car this morning, trying to get the dog hairs out of the upholstery was a nightmare, but it's being picked up tomorrow so had to be done, love that car - sob!! BTW, two jack russells are fab pets but their hair gets everywhere including my work car which they are not even allowed in, so how all that hair got there is a mystery to me!!!!

So exciting all these early pregnancy signs, I want this one to come right now but junior is not playing that game, have had a few little period pains, but I suspect that's mainly due to wishful thinking and doing a little too much during the day I think.... Am so impatient!

Good luck with the job Voodoo, lets hope you get it and they are very flexible about the start date.

Well, going to sort out lunch and then take the car to the car wash, I draw the line at cleaning it inside and out if I dont have to, think I might spend the afternoon finishing up a cardigan that I started ages ago, it's going to be for bubs to wear home so best to get it finished soon :)

SnoozleDoozle · 09/10/2011 11:38

Poppet I think everyone is delighted to hear your good news with Willow, and althought its not for me to guess how Chip must be feeling, I think from the few months that we have 'known' her through this thread, she doesn't come across as the sort of person who would be resentful of the fact that you have good news to share.

Pam as unofficial thread namer I propose to you that our next thread title should be, 'Nipple cheese and getting ready for the big squeeze?!'. Classy....!

I went on a hen night last night, am shattered today. I left around 11pm, to let the rest of the ladies get on with the drinking and dancing, but not before I had got lodged in a toilet cubicle in the restuarant - no matter what way I turned, the door just got wedged into my bump and I couldn't get the door pulled open far enough to get out! In the end, I just had to grit my teeth and shove, but my poor bump took a battering. Why on earth to they make them so small?

PamSco · 09/10/2011 11:55

Well snoozle voodoo after the trouble I got into with Primula-gate please forgive me if I hesitate on this one Wink

We are only c90 posts away so every suggestion welcome.

I'm off for a hypnobirthing pregnancy massage.... Oh yeeeehhh

Hey all, just a quick message from phone in hospital - lurking but can't post so well.
Pre-eclampsia officially on the cards - being monitored for another 24 hours then either induced or sent home.

House guest still not shifted - absolutely not doing my BP any good!

voodoomunkee · 09/10/2011 12:30

Ah Cali, rest up lovey. Tell OH to tell house guest she has to leave! If u are induced she needs to be gone ASAP anyways and if you get sent home then you need rest and calm and peace! Take care x

knockedupagain · 09/10/2011 14:41

Hello everyone! Have been nesting full time lately, so hadn't checked out the thread in a while. What devastatingly awful news about Sylvie-Rose. Poor, poor Chip and family.

Folic I'll pm you something for the card when I can think of something suitable. All the cards seem lovely, and I don't have a strong preference.
alicat I'll pm you too to get bank details.

If Chip is going to have a rose garden, then perhaps quite a few plants would be appropriate?

If we are trying to avoid a primula-gate repeat, how about:

"Best finish that shopping before more babes come a popping..."

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 09/10/2011 14:45

Cali,

best of luck with the hospital and get that house guest told to bugger off to be blunt!

Nowt else to say, just thought I would add my penniesworth in :)

BuffyFan · 09/10/2011 16:19

Like knockedup I've turned lurker again, and was staggered to get online this weekend to see chip's news. :( It knocked me for six, like everybody else, and it's taken me the last day or so to think quite how to respond. I feel helpless, I really do, and there's not much I can say better than others have said it already. But have to say I'm really proud of this thread as a group for responding so brilliantly, and sorry I haven't been around. Will obviously be PMing Alicat re paypal, and think the rose is a beautiful idea. I can't even begin to imagine how chip and her family must be feeling. I'm guessing by now I've missed the chance to add a PM to the card.

Still working up to packing the hospital bag, so glad to hear I'm not the only one who's not quite prepared yet... but really exciting to hear of activity heading in the general direction of labour from some of you. At 33+5 I'm hoping I've got a little while yet. Still got 3 weeks left at work!!

It's my birthday today and as a special birthday treat we went to Tescos to buy baby clothes, maternity pads and muslins today. Did get a lie-in though, so should thank the cat for not waking us up until 7.45...

voodoomunkee · 09/10/2011 17:07

Happy birthday Buffy! Sounds like an exciting day for you haha. I'm 36 weeks on Tuesday and as of tomorrow I have 15 working days left as well. On light duties and office based stuff only so it's not too bad.

I don't think I've mentioned that out of those 2 jobs OH had the interviews for ages ago he got both and now has a start date for one! So the timings dire but he starts the compulsory training on the 19th. Yay! Means that his wages can take over where mine tail off onto smp so not too bad. Not sure how they are going to feel about him having to take paternity leave so soon after the start date but am sure it will all work out.

Massively uncomfortable today. Back ache but not the sort that I think turns into anything apart from annoying. But am pottering on.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 09/10/2011 17:36

Happy birthday buffy and well done voodoo's DH. Am sure it'll work out with dates and paternity leave.

cali hope all goes ok, fingers crossed. But seriously, your house'mate' needs to leave now for the health of you and your baby. Your health is at risk and you will not cope with her if you either need to rest at home or are bringing a newborn home. This is no joke now - get rid. Get DP/DH to chuck her out tomorrow at latest.

SnoozleDoozle · 09/10/2011 17:58

Cali hope all goes well for you, you need rest rest rest, and you need your house back. Can your DP put her out whilst you are in hospital? I know you said she was young, but surely even the most self centred, immature person can see that you have something fairly major on the horizon, and don't need to be worrying about her on top of things? Get your DP to take a recording of a newborn screaming at the top of its lungs, and play it to her at 3am, that should soon let her know whats coming her way if she doesn't clear off now......although frankly, if that doesn't shift her, it looks like she is with you for life....

With regards to contributions for Chip, does anyone have any suggestions of how much to put in? I really have no idea, as I'm not sure how many are contributing, and how many plants we are wanting to buy. Any ideas?

lktoday5 · 09/10/2011 18:03

cali what MrsA says (because she always puts things so eloquently) Just. Get. Rid. and fingers crossed for a safe arrival.

snoozle im sorry but i laughed out loud at your bump issues. but only because i ended up with a ma-hoo-sive bruise on my bump from hitting it on a door knob when completely underestimating how big ive got Blush and yes, we should absolutely call the next thread that!

things much the same here, still cramping and things are moving - ahem- down there but nothing dramatic yet. I do feel better though as had a long conversation with DH about the whole 'when do i phone you, compassionate phone line' stuff so feeling more relaxed, although he did make me laugh by saying things like 'i mean, we're talking helicoptered out'. Im having a baby not dying!! These military men like a bit of drama methinks....

pandia · 09/10/2011 18:32

Cali - like everyone else says - houseguest really has to go now! I actually can't believe she is still there when you look like you're about to pop and have actually even had to go into hospital. How insensitive can people be?!

lk and snoozle - totally hear you on the walking into things - "surely my bump will fit past that....ouch" etc. We are moving house on Monday -suddenly moving house at 35 weeks doesn't seem such a good idea. Anyway today I lifted a box that was way heavier that I thought it would be, ended up having to carry it balanced on the top of the bump as arms not strong enough. Then put it down thinking if it hurts where exactly is the baby being pushed to and am I totally squashing her with a massive box....think no more lifting for me.

Happy Sunday evening everyone, looking forward to curling up on sofa for Downton.

mashpot · 09/10/2011 19:52

Ali and Folic, thanks ever so much for organising card and collection - will be PMing you both.

Happy Birthday Buffy.

Bg congrats to DH Voodoo, great news on the jobs.

Cali best of luck for the next 24 hours, take care of you and bubs and forget about the houseguest, I'm sure your DH will make sure she is out when necessary.

Still no bag packed yet here either but DH has started to nag me about it as I had a midwife appt last week and she said the head is quite far down. He relayed this news to his mum when she asked how I was doing and I think she sent him into a bit of a panic by saying that may mean it comes early. I personally still think it will be late being the first and all but better to be prepared so must get my arse in gear.

I am pretty knackered this evening. Its been a busy weekend of painting and DIY jobs although DH has done everything so don't know why I feel so tired. The house is slowly but surely getting there, fingers crossed we get there before the baby comes...

I'm 35 weeks today and have 3 weeks left at work too.

Right, left over lasagne from last night for tea with X factor and Downton. Hope everyone else has a relaxing evening too.
xx

Caliphora · 09/10/2011 20:44

She's gone! Although she's temporarily staying with another friend who had a baby 3 months ago - this young lady has no sense of appropriate behaviour!

DP brought me lilies and Swedish food to the hospital, and the laptop so we could watch Merlin together.

neverinamillionyears · 09/10/2011 21:41

Excellent news cali, she sounded like a right mare. Hope now you can get some rest and the relief knowing that you have your house back.must be immense.

folic am I too late to pm?
alicat please pm me account details, Thankyou.

Does anyone else here have a baby that is transverse?

Folicacid · 10/10/2011 05:46

Plenty time to PM messages as card is personalised so will take a few days to arrive. It looks like the tatty teddy or the footsteps? I'm in complete preggo indecision and everyone kinda said that one or that one.

Cali brilliant that 'houseguest' has left although what she is doing rocking up to a household with a 3 month old is beyond me. She's 22, would a youth hostel not be a bit of a better compromise? and a better laugh too.

My bestest buds threw me a it's-not-a-baby-shower-folic-would-freak-it's-an afternoon-tea yesterday. Was fab, I loved it. Mil had a fab time, and mum and pals.

Today is cot buying day, buggy arrived friday and I picked up carrycot on saturday so getting there...

I've been having cramps that go when I move. Is this Braxton Hicks? this has only just started to happen and it's not an all over tightening.

Merlioness · 10/10/2011 05:59

Sorry for not having been around last weekend. I managed to develop the most excruciating toothache since Frida, so off to the dentist tomorrow. I just pray that he can fix it, as I?m already tempted to take pliers to my tooth! :(

Thanks for passing our thoughts on TwoJack
Cali agreed, the pattern is lovely! I hope that the monitoring goes well and BP comes down. So glad this houseguest is finally gone. I hope the baby keeps her up all night!
Hope you enjoyed Merlin, lilies and food :)
voodoo hope you?re feeling better. and yum to beef casserole. Good luck with the job too!
lk I?m so glad that you were able to get some good sleep.
Kelly apparently perineal massage is only beneficial to FTMs?
Pam Sounds like your mucus plug to me. Or at least part of it
Poppet it is indeed lovely to hear about how Willow is doing. So pleased that she seems to be doing better by the day
Happy belated birthday Buffy
snoozle I am so glad you asked. I have no idea either!

Bag not yet packed here either. Will really have to get going on it. I?m just still in such denial about the whole thing. Oh dear.

Folic I really don't mind which card. Indecisive here too. Glad you had a good afternoon tea with friends and family
Sound slike BH to me, but I haven't felt anything, so may not be the best person to advise.
never Mine turns transverse at night, as he curls under my ribcage. He is mostly breech though during the day

lktoday5 · 10/10/2011 09:49

hello ladies, another 'interesting' night here. Regular, strong tightenings about 10-15 mins apart from 10.30 last night (to be fair to LO she did wait until Downton Abbey had finished - thats my girl Wink), finally got some sleep between about 7.30am and now, woken up and still there but not as strong. Think I was right about the slow burn - at this rate we could still be here on due date! Am going to rest this morning and then go for a walk. Figure it will either help things along or knock me out so i can nap later .....must.not.get.frustrated.

CazandBelle · 10/10/2011 10:06

I'm feeling so impatient and unsettled today, like a kid on christmas eve wanting it to already be christmas today. Can't believe the big day is tomorrow, I really hope it is a quick induction, especially with all the pre-labour symptoms and pains and already starting to dilate but I know it is likely at 36w to take a little while. I'm so ready to meet our boy now.

So as I guess after today I won't be back until Xander has arrived, so I just wanted to say thankyou for being such a supportive group of ladies. Its been a pleasure sharing this journey with you all. xxx

mashpot · 10/10/2011 10:34

Caz very best of luck tomorrow. I hope things move quickly and all goes smoothly. What a terrifically exciting day for you, he;s almost here!

Caliphora · 10/10/2011 10:50

Good luck Caz! You're in our prayers!

It's induction or bust home here today - I'm not prepared to be in hospital for another week of boredom when my BP is high but stable and Sprout is active.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 10/10/2011 11:15

Best of luck Caz and Cali, let me know how you get on with your inductions, I am hoping that my date will be confirmed tomorrow and that I shall be booked in for my own induction in two weeks, eek!!!
