Morning all, am trying to pack to go away on holiday but dd is 'helping'. I'm stressing also, every time we go away I forget something really important, so I have lists and lists yet still think I'm missing something. I think its because i have so many important things to remember like dds milk and medicine (cant be replaced), my brain can't remember anything else like dummies, coats and bottles (can be rebought when were there)

I have decided I'm Never going on holiday with 2 babies, ill end up forgetting one of them!

ghosteditor · 06/09/2011 09:24

have a fab time addicted!

I had my first antenatal yoga class last night, was properly weird seeing so many pg women in one place Grin. The instructor is Nicole Croft, who is [[http://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Birth-Companion-Practical-Having/dp/0091935504/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315297338&sr=8-1 the author of this book] and has done a few yoga DVDs and things. Each week we'll cover one of the topics from the book, I think. Am quite looking forward to it!

I also do pilates but I think I might plan a weekly swim too, as I'm just not getting enough cardio and I'm so inefficient at swimming that it's quite a good work out for me. Plus it has lots of other benefits as mentioned below Grin

Livened · 06/09/2011 09:45

Good morning all,

Ghost that's the book im reading and its brilliant, so I'm very jealous Nicole is your actual yoga teacher! I think I'm also going to get DH to read it after I've finished as he has no clue and I really think we will stay calmest if we are both prepared for whats ahead in the delivery room...

Scan today woohoo 3.20pm! I wonder how Supa got on this morning?

Congrats Bellini

Oeisha we're also getting the iCandy Peach - it was the first system that took both mine and hubby's eye in JL and to be honest, everything since has come a distant second. I'm definitely someone who goes with gut instincts and I'm sure other prams are just as good for probably half the price, but it's the one we want.

Cant wait to see wriggler later and hopefully everything is ok...

x

Fryn · 06/09/2011 09:57

Hello!

Bellini- congratulations!

addicted - I always seem to remember everything for DD when we go on holiday, but none of the things that I need, such as pants! Durr. Definitely no holidays with 2 - it'll be a disaster!

Oh, you lot swimming is making me feel sooo lazy. I let my work gym membership lapse as I used the pool 6 times over the year, and never the gym! I'm a bit of a fair weather swimmer though - if it's sunny outside, yeah! If it's wet and windy, nooooo. Let's hope for an Indian summer so I can pull my finger out and get splashing.

Oeisha · 06/09/2011 10:21

Livened good luck today!
Supa hope it went well!

Spoke to my Mum last night. Not only are they absolutely insisting on paying for the iCandy, but they're insisting on doing the car seat too! (as the Maxicosi clips onto the iCandy apparently it's all the same thing). So conflicted as to whether this is good or not, but trying to be rational. She's obviously feeling very disconnected from us, and if this helps her, fair enough. Plus, we frankly, have so little money I'm worried that we'll start off parenthood in stupid amounts of debt. The money this has essentially 'saved' is is making my wish to to real nappies more reasonable...just...

fryn If you saw me swimming you wouldn't feel lazy. I'm not very good at it atm as I'm towing Yolkis about, and she loves it, so am often having to stop as she's booting me in the tum and making me feel sick. This, and the slight distraction of the MW yesterday meant I only got about 25lengths in.
People have started to look at me oddly though. I obviously look either pg or cancerous, so I'm guessing it's their dissaproval that I'm in the 'swimming' lane. Kids here don't go back 'til tomorrow on the whole, so I wans't going to be risking a boot in the tum (nearly happened twice already) 'cos some selfish little brat has no concept that others exist in the universe. Nearly got dived on in the middle of the swimming lane too. V. cross. Not a single lifeguard batted an eyelid...

Fryn · 06/09/2011 12:28

oiesha - my parents in law bought our buggy last time, and my parents bought the cot and various other things. I decided not to feel bad about it and to accept their help, as it meant I could live off slightly more than beans for my entire mat. leave! And it also meant that they were happy that they'd been able to contribute, as none of them live near enough to really help out with baby sitting or anything like that.

And "only 25 lengths"?? That's more than I ever managed at the height of my non-pregnant fitness spree! Well done.

What news, today's scanners??

mummyzoe2012 · 06/09/2011 14:37

how did peoples scan go today ? ive got mine tomorrow so excited. invited my mum to come as she is not feeling to happy at the mo about blood clots on her lungs and she thinks they are comming back.

supadupapupascupa · 06/09/2011 14:48

Hi there!

Scan went well but she couldn't see to check the heart or the face so I have to go back on the 19th for another one.
Everything she could see was perfect Grin

Anyway, she thinks we are team PINK but will need confirming.

so, so pleased Grin

ParsleyLion1 · 06/09/2011 15:02

Excellent news supa Grin

Moobee · 06/09/2011 15:07

Congratulations Bellini and Supa and good luck Livened and Mummyzoe!

ghosteditor · 06/09/2011 15:24

hurray supa! It took ages at my scan to see the face too as she couldn't check the baby's upper lip, but eventually the little one's head moved out of the shadows and we got a good luck. It's quite nice to get a second scan when everything looks ok though!

shonnomanom · 06/09/2011 16:33

Happy Holidays addicted!

Good news supa, and a extra view at baby as well. Good times.

I had my physio appointment today and now sporting a very sexy Hmm tubagrip from top of my bump right down past my knickers. Turns out that the left section of my pelvis has slipped slightly, so she gave me exercises(stuff that we already know ie knees together etc) and told me to put a hot water bottle inbetween my thighs as well as massage the muscles. She told me about this leaflet that has lots of info and exercises to do. And iv to go back in 2 weeks for another check up. ALERT the physio also told me to remove the carrier bag from my carseat once in postition as another patient of hers had to do an emergancy break and slid forward on the carrier bag. Hurting herself even more in the process.

Just had a wee look at the stats thread.
So far Team Yellow in the lead with 7 babies and Pink and Blue are neck&neck with 6 babies each.
By the looks of the dates there are quite a few scans due over the next week so the numbers will change significantly

Livened · 06/09/2011 18:18

We're team Blue! :o

Everything was normal size and in the right place so we're just thrilled. When we asked about the sex, the sonographer said she couldn't ever be 100% sure but would check - she soon changed her tune and said "we'll he's not shy is he... if that comes out a girl I'll eat my hat!". DH then made some embarrassing comment about taking after his father but thankfully the dim lighting in the room hid my crimson face!

It's amazing how much more real it seems now and I love the fact we can start to buy things.

supa thats great news, and i'm jealous you will get another look at baby in a few weeks time.

Good luck everyone else with scans - I hope you get the same great news we had today :)

x

addictediam · 06/09/2011 18:26

Have I missed some thing about a carrier bag? Confused why do you have one on your carseat?

I've just realised that only half of my last post was posted!

Anyway congratulations and good luck to all the scans.

I don't go away till Friday but am trying and failing to be organised

Moobee · 06/09/2011 18:28

Congratulations Livened that's lovely news!

GiraffeAHolic · 06/09/2011 19:16

addicted when you suffer you with SPD or PGP they tell you to put a carrier bag on the car seat so you slide and swivel yourself in, if that makes sense Smile

GiraffeAHolic · 06/09/2011 19:55

Owwwwww I just burnt my bump :(

Mum2be79 · 06/09/2011 20:02

GiraffeAHolic I keep bumping mine into the table. Forget it's there sometimes.

Am I the only one who is being woken between 2-4am by little one's kicks?!? I'm a light sleeper and he/she wakes me up and then I can't get back to sleep!!! The last 2 nights it has continued for FIVE HOURS!

GiraffeAHolic · 06/09/2011 20:05

I can't forget it's there now, it's throbbing and blistered!

This one is most active between 11pm and 1am, my whole tummy now shifts from side to side when I lay in bed :)

Moobee · 06/09/2011 20:49

Ow giraffe that sounds sore! Mum2be - glad I'm not the only one bumping my bump, I keep catching it on things.

I've only just started feeling taps in the last couple of weeks, they're getting more frequent now and my husband was able to feel them about a week ago. It was lovely, but they're definitely not big enough to keep me awake yet!

I do indeed have a cold - it's not a full on thing, but I have a sore throat and feel rubbish. Had to stay home from work today. Hope it's better tomorrow...

Deesus · 06/09/2011 21:16

Hello all! Just had a quick catch up - still can't believe we're on thread 4 already!

Congrats on all the recent scans. I wish I had another one to look forward to...it seems weird that I won't see my little one again till the big day!

At our scan when the sonographer was trying to find the sex she first said "well, i think it's a girl but......hang on..woah! definitely a girl" Think my little darling did a bit of a sharon stone Blush. So shy and retiring...just like her mum! Wink

Oeisha · 06/09/2011 21:17

supa welcome to team pink!
livened congrats on the team blue!
mummyzoe good luck tomorrow.

shonno the tubigrip sounds uncomfortable. Can't believe the carrier bag thing. Seems an obvious flaw to me!

giraffe what were you doin to burn bump? Try hypercal, that's good on skin that's had a toasting. I'm forever spilling tea on myself...

Yolkis is most active around lunch time, but does usually have abit of a kick about just after dinner. She has a brief thrash about when I settle down for bed, but only for 10mins or so. I'm occasionally aware of her early morning, but it's never enough to wake me. She's been a little quiet today, so I'm trying not get too wound up...

My baby carrier arrived today*! It's pretty much perfect! It was fiarly obvoiusly never used, so super-pleased with this ebay purchase.
*along with another 4 pregnacare - they underdelivered, but then corrected, and now another 4 have arrived, must check statements and check I'm not charged twice!

Oeisha · 06/09/2011 21:20

deesus Yarp, Yoliks was on her head, so the first thing we saw was buttocks...and she had no problems giving us an 'up-skirt' shot...

Deesus · 06/09/2011 21:22

Haha oeisha. Them's some classy ladies we're carrying, eh?
