fish - it might be worth going to the benefit advisor anyway, as there may be something that you haven't spotted. And if not, you're prepared for that anyway, so nothing lost. Have you considered selling stuff on ebay? My friend apparently made 3k last year selling just things she had lying around the house!
Other than that, enjoy your no-stress day - I hope you're feeling more chipper after an afternoon watching Ben & Holly!

greenlady - I became a total cross stich addict in my teens! I keep yearning to get back to it, but there's usually something rubbish on tv that manages to distract me instead.

miamama - ouch, sinusitis is a killer. Hope you're feeling better.

I've really started feeling G2 wriggling this week - it's such a relief! Although mildly annoying at 3 in the morning - but I was dangling off the edge of the bed anyway, as DD ended up in bed with us again. She just can't settle back to sleep any more when she wakes up, and it's too hard to ignore her pleas for cuddles("no mummy a BIG cuddle".)

Congrats to all new coloured bumps!

Fryn · 08/09/2011 09:52

ghost - ha! can tell you're in publishing!

Deesus · 08/09/2011 09:53

Morning all.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down fish - hope things get better soon. I think a painting party is a great idea. We've done that before and it's amazing how fast you can get everything done. For other bits of DIY you could try breaking them down into really small jobs and just say to yourself you'll do one or two things this weekend say (even if it's something like putting up one shelf, taking some bags to the charity shop). Once you've started to make some progress things don't seem so bad. And hopefully your DH will get with the programme a bit more too!

As for me I'm still full of a cold. It's not too bad but I'm seriously lacking sleep as whenever I lie down my head completely bungs up. Have been trying to sleep upright by propping myself up with like a million cushions and pillows just so I can get a couple of hours rest!

shonnomanom · 08/09/2011 10:39

SOrry to hear your not having a good time of things fish, hope your having a better day today. I totally agree with what the ladies have already said. Take each week as it comes, we have plenty left.

Dp took on more responsbility at work to help with the bills and now it feels like he really only comes home to sleep. He has claimed to help out more at home but he is not the most homeproud person and I really hate having to nag him to do what I can no longer do. Seems like every time we're talking im at him to do something. There are loads of things that I could be doing but im just not fit anymore and its really frustrating. Especially as we are dog sitting for 2weeks and thats using up more of my energy, more than your average dog would as he is 80% blind - poor dog has glycloma(sp?)

Congratulations on all the healthy, colourful scans ladies!

Hope everyone is feeling well x

Think I may be about to join supa and shonno with the PGP. Bleurgh... Have a consultant appt this afternoon so will mention it then. Though I looked at shonno's leaflet and I'm fairly certain.

fishandlilacs · 08/09/2011 14:49

Well the bad news is I didn't manage to avoid a stressful day-I knew I shouldn't have answered the phone at all. Bloody bank.

But the good news is, although i'm not entitled to JSA I may be entitled to maternity allowance after I finish my contract work. Which is a bonus I hadn't counted on.

I have also been over the childrens centre where the new course i am tutoring starts in 2 weeks, it's a lovely little centre and there are 12 people signed up for it! Thats a brilliant number and means that it will definately go ahead. You only have to have 6, so that one big worry off my mind.

It's funny isn't it-i figured out what triggered it this week. I turned the calender over and on this month are lots of dates written in from when I was still at my old work-this month I was supposed to be starting flexible working hours to fit in with school times. I had the perfect arrangement, 9.30-3. 4 days a week. It had all been agreed back in Jan.

It's that simple thing which reminded me and set me off. I'm still so angry with them for letting me down.
I'm massively overtired, I really need a decent nights sleep, i'm sure it's not helping my mood.

Tomorrow is another day, roll on bed time so I can get this one over with.

shonnomanom · 08/09/2011 15:57

Oh parsley I hope for your sake its not PGP. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy! Hope you dont have to wait to long to see a physio if it is the case. (((pgp hugs all round)))

fish you sound like your in a better place today, might not be a perfect place but you sound cheerier.

I popped in to the shop for a bit of chocolate. They have BIG size Aero bars for £1. Obviously I couldnt resist. One of the kids I look after asked if I would be able to eat my dinned tonight as I had almost finished the whole bar myself Shock There are 4 squaresleft. Might have them later Grin

Thanks shonno the consultant was a bit useless tbh (well the consultant cancelled so I got the registrar). He just said that delivery was the only cure for PGP and if it got any worse to see the GP or midwife and they could refer to a physio.

On the plus side all was OK and got to hear baby's heartbeat again. If scan is OK tomorrow I just need to see them once more at 24 weeks and can go back to midwife care :)

shonnomanom · 08/09/2011 16:36

From what I have read so far parsley delivery doesnt always cure it. Give your mw a call asap, she should discuss it with you and possibly have a bit of poke and prod at you before referral to physio. You'v read all the tips and advice so in the mean time use them to 'comfort' you.

Hope your scan goes well tommorrow for you, but definately get in touch with the MW as soon as possible x

fishandlilacs · 08/09/2011 16:41

It took about 5 months for my SPD (pgp or whatever) after DD was born. It improved massively after delivery but it took a long time to gradually fade away.

I sem lucky this time-I have a backache and hip ache but it's definately not SPD pain.

ParsleyLion1 · 08/09/2011 17:59

Is the midwife better than the GP do you think?

Oeisha · 08/09/2011 18:00

Evening guys!

We're rabbiting on chatting at such a pace that I've had to take notes...
Anyway..

Giraffe Hope you're blister's going.

Going back a bit, but re: baby girl exhibitionism. I used to do "nudy dancing" until I was about 6 apparently. This involved me stripping everything off and dancing about like a loon to the music in my head...(think of Steve-Os 'Party Boy' and minus the posing pouch and hairiness and you have the right idea) - often in front of my brother's friends (they're 5 years older than me). Anyway, did me no harm Hmm and in fact, led to my parents discovering a hernia when I was 6...so, hey ho! Yolkis has definitely got this from me I fear.

Deesus hope you're cold's easing. Mine last week sucked...so you def. have my sympathies. I found manuka honey helped loads - expensive but worth it!

Fish you're having a crappy time of it ain't you! (((hugs))) Glad to hear you're feeling more positive at the moment. Long may it last. Definietly worth a trip to the psychiatric nurse. I got to the point with my despression a while ago where I was quite happy to be told I was as mad as a bag of badgers, at least then I knew it was 'ok' to be feeling so fucking wrong all the time. Hopefully it's not depression, but if it is, there's loads that can be done to help you (CBT heled loads for me).

miamama Congrats on the team blue!

Mummyzoe welcome to team pink! Grin

parsley Fingers crossed it's not PGP, or they at least do something to ease your pain!

Grief. I wahink (or 'think') that was everything...apologies if I've missed out on anything...

I'm off for a snooze. Super-tired.

BigHotMama · 08/09/2011 18:53

Crikey seriously can't keep up with you chatty ladies have been trying to for last few days but end up giving up so like you oiesha I have also took notes Grin

Congrats to all who have had scans sounds fab can't wait for mine on Monday.

Re exhibitionism: me and my sister dressed up in my aunties underwear with tissues stuffed in bra to perform a dance for our uncle we were only 6 and 8 and was innocent fun, but looking back at the photos we think it looks soooo wrong.

Well my first week back at work hasn't been as bad as imagined but none of the kids asked if I'm pregnant so my belly obviously still looks just really fat.

Has anybody had their matb1 form from mw yet? Work have asked me for it with my mat app form but not got one yet?

Feeling lots more kicking from the smurf over this past week but wish my dh could feel it from outside too.

Good luck for scan tomorrow parsley

(((big hugs))) to those of you are feeling low/poorly x

shonnomanom · 08/09/2011 21:05

Yes BHM I got my MatB1 form the other week. The MW wont give it to you until after 20weeks so if she hasnt gave it to you yet ask her at your next appointment.

Parsley I went to the GP first as we only have MW appointments at my clinic on Wednesdays. My GP knew of PGP/SDP but wasnt confident on advice, correct procedure for physio etc and so told me to see the MW.
I think its just your luck on the day if the GP you see knows what he/she is doing IYKWIM

5 months!! Really Fish? Was it a case of it only really bothered you if you were over doing it? A managable kinda of pain. 5 months skips by Spring time and goes straight to Summer time. The thought of still suffering next Summer is horrible!

OP posts:
Oeisha · 08/09/2011 21:10

Urgh. Just depressed myself again by trying to find 3/4 sleeve tops. I either have to want front-frump (ruffles, flowers on chest), be striped (with a set of JJs that's jsut not sensible) or just be smaller (thanks to the JJs I'm measuring in at a stretchy 18 or 20)...or be willing to spend an arm and a leg on a top. Driving me mental. Might have to go with the really 'exciting' option of only wearing black or white all bloody autumn/winter and take advantage of the 3 for 2 on mothercare website, or hope I win the lottery soon...could really do with spending money on nursery, not me!
GL to any scanners tomorrow...

fishandlilacs · 08/09/2011 21:23

Oeisha this site any good? www.bonprixsecure.com/uk/Maternity-tunic-3284665-bundle.htm?sourcePageClick=article_image

fishandlilacs · 08/09/2011 21:29

I am on a mission for winter boots, my footwear situation is seriously poor. Come hell or high water I am having some boots if and when I finally get paid for some of this contract work.

Which do you like?

www.bonprixsecure.com/uk/Patent-overknee-boots-1841264-bundle.htm?sourcePageClick=article_image Ok Ok these ones may have been a joke :) I refuse to be despressed anymore. DH is sulking because he's finally run out fags and we simply cannot afford for him to be smoking anymore, he's being so petulant and self indulgent. I love him I really do but I simply cannot have both of us moping about, so I am sucking it up and cheering myself up.

ghosteditor · 08/09/2011 22:30

Hey ladies, I have my 22 week appointment tomorrow: how time flies! Must remember my notes and tiny vial of pee...

ParsleyLion1 · 09/09/2011 07:37

Nice boots fish I like the first ones best but the 3rd ones look very practicle for any snow and ice

Moobee · 09/09/2011 07:49

I like the first two boots best. The lace ups are my favourite but if they're actually laces, how easy would that be once you're bigger?

I'm not scheduled to have a 22 week appointment, my next one is meant to be 25 weeks with the doctor. I scheduled it early for 23+3 as I'm off to geneva. It would be too late for my Mat B1 form too otherwise. Have fun though, I quite like the appointments!

ParsleyLion1 · 09/09/2011 07:55

Thanks shonno I was going to go the same route as getting a GP appt is so much easier. Sounds like that might not be the best option. OH reckons I should go direct to the physio and pay for one near work, rather than have to wait and take more more time out of work. There are a few that claim to do maternity close to work so I'll investigate

abeautifulbutterfly · 09/09/2011 08:07

fish - you go girl! You sound a lot more upbeat this last couple of days. I like the lace-up boots too (though the furry ones look soooo snug!), and it does say they have inside zips, so should be OK. I had my first ever pair of high boots last winter and I'm never going back - such a good investment.

redheadbedhead · 09/09/2011 09:07

hey fish glad you're feeling a bit better. I think the first pair are the best. I'm getting boot cravings now, mine are short ones from last year so I think I might get some long ones in case it's icy this winter and I'm bumbling around on the ice like a fat whale...

we've had a horrid few days - my OH's nana died so he's been helping clear the house, and we're going again today. unfortunately she had a dog that's got diabetes and needs injecting every day, and no-one wants to take it on. he's a bit annoying and smelly but i feel a bit sorry for him and would take him on if he got on with cats, which he doesn't.... anyone want a broken terrier?? poor doggy...

still no scan....20+5.....

GiraffeAHolic · 09/09/2011 09:45

Glad you're feeling a bit perkier fish.

So sorry to hear about your week redhead.

I'm not having a good week either. My dad has terminal cancer and has just had all his treatment stopped and been given about 2 more months left. I have no idea how to deal with that when I'm going to be quite heavily pregnant and looking after a 3 year old. The stress is already causing Braxton Hicks.

So sorry to offload on here.

On a slightly happier note I just won a bundle of maternity clothes off EBay. 21 items (tops, jeans, linens, crops, skirts etc) for £6.50. Retail therapy on a budget.

fishandlilacs · 09/09/2011 10:38

Oh redhead and giraffe i'm sorry to hear your woes. When you're pregnant you just want all other stresses to go away, it seems to cruel to have to deal with things like terminal illness and death. Hand holding here x
