I only did it a test this morning and have not even told my husband yet!

Welcome Digger and Lindsell

For tea I am going with decaf, fizzy drinks and chocolate are the hardest for me though, although I don't have much of an appetite at the minute so the chocolate isn't too bad. I have been getting spots, and my twinges are easing off but the boobs are still hot and sore! Slight nausea but nothing awful yet.

How is everyone else this morning?

Quenelle · 09/09/2011 09:51

Morning all.

I too will be ordering the Second Baby Survival Guide. The reviews look pretty good.

I have woken up with a really painful armpit today. I think it's a gland thing, perhaps something to do with weakened immune system? I got a cold last time around this point and had a rash all over my chest and neck. I rarely have illnesses so I'm sure it's related.

Am on my second cup of tea of the day. I can't give it up. I drink decaf coffee anyway but decaf tea is foul. I will resolve to make it slightly weaker and try to have fewer cups.

I'm going to have a small glass of wine with dinner tomorrow as well. I'm going out with old friends to say bon voyage to one friend who is emigrating. None of them know I'm pregnant, I've told them a lie about having to be up early so I have to drive home instead of stay the night and drink large amounts of wine, champagne and possibly cocktails.

Little9 · 09/09/2011 10:43

Morning! Got a bit of a sore throat this morning - where did that come from? Spot is still in residence. No other symptoms yet, but twinges seem to be easing. :) Think I may have to invest in some books too!

MandaHugNKiss · 09/09/2011 13:54

Hi all,

I was going to hold off joining... but trying to be optimistic.

I'm approaching 38 (in Nov) and this will be DC5 (although I lost dc4 in a mid tri loss in april). They range in age from 16 to almost 18months, I'm still BF'ing the youngest.

I'm bloody knackered!

Got my bfp on Tuesday at 11dpo and the (daily!) tests are getting darker so it seems to be going well so far. Occasional af-like cramps and vague nausea are about my only symptoms. EDD 18th May going by Ov (I chart) but no doubt that will change by at least a few days at the scan.

Ah MandaHugNKiss Welcome. It's nice to have someone in a similar boat to me. I was 38 in March and have 3 kids, my oldest is 9. I've also got a load of HPTs in the post to me from ebay so I can check the colour of the link when feeling worried!

Quenelle · 09/09/2011 14:13

Hi Manda. Congratulations on your BFP. So sorry to hear of your loss in April.

Failsafe · 09/09/2011 14:42

Congratulations on the new May additions!

Periody type pain has stopped today which is good, but that and indigestion were my only symptoms so far! My DH keeps laughing at me hving a quick prod of the boobies to see if they are sore yet!

No sickness or tiredness yet and im 5 weeks today, is this normal?

Quenelle · 09/09/2011 14:44

Failsafe I didn't get any major tiredness last pregnancy, well not until the bump started making it hard to sleep.

I have a tiny bit of queasiness if I get hungry, apart from that, no sickness yet. I'm 6 weeks on Monday.

Failsafe · 09/09/2011 15:26

thanks Quenelle, it just all so unnerving when its your first as you have absolutely no idea what it al feels like and whether its all normal or not.

Think I might have to invest in a baby book so I dont drive you all bonkers asking questions!

Northey · 09/09/2011 15:59

I know, failsafe. If I hadn't done a test, I would have no idea that I was pregnant. I feel absolutely normal.

Quenelle · 09/09/2011 16:32

That's what we're all on this thread for Failsafe. Ask away Smile

Northey, long may the normalness last!

lalabaloo · 09/09/2011 18:15

Weirdly i'm starting to feel a bit wobbly today, I keep going between being confident everything will be fine and then the next minute being really worried I won't make it to 12 weeks. It is quite nervewracking isn't it? :(

fatheadsgirl · 09/09/2011 20:13

Hi all! Can I join you? I had an early scan on Thursday and am currently 6+1! So excited, especially after 3 MC's. Due May 4th. Hope everyones well :)

fatheadsgirl · 09/09/2011 20:15

Oh and Im also sick as dog (even throwing up water) and have tres tender and swollen boobs...

Yay4may · 09/09/2011 20:16

Welcome new friends!

Captain Barf made a grand entrance this am. Thankfully he's the type that moves on after he's done his damage. Was proper 'morning' sickness in that it went away midday. Here we go again....

Wobbly feelings and loads of questions are why they created mumsnet!

DialMforMummy · 09/09/2011 22:01

lalabaloo I am with you here... Another 6 weeks before first scan really seems ages away.... I am not massively anxious but am trying not to count my chickens just yet. I never MC before and so many of my friends have that I can't help but think that I am due one. It's a bloody long 6 weeks.

MyDaydream · 09/09/2011 22:08

Congratulations to everyone whos joined the club.
Still pretty symptomless, although OH keeps getting shouted at for squeezing my boobs too hard (and staring at them too much, they're ridiculous and only going to get bigger).

I told my dad today, thought it'd make a good birthday prezzie for him. He was over the moon, although kept telling me how old it made him feel! He's offered to buy me either a pram or a cot, don't know if he knows how expensive it could be for him!

Northey · 10/09/2011 00:12

Tonight's obsession - can I make myself miscarry by eating too much? Went out for dinner with friends and ate so much I can't actually stand up straight any more. This can't be good for the baby.

Yes, I know I'm being insane. No, I can't stop knicker-checking.

Little9 · 10/09/2011 00:55

I'm the same northey. Have to check my knickers at every toilet stop. I'm completely obsessed! At least I've only had a few twinges today.

chocolatesparkle · 10/09/2011 08:16

Only just got to a propper computer where i can add my stats (don't want to be logging in at work yet!) Terrified of feeling sick and having to tell people at work, yet at the same time, wondering why i dont have any symptoms...there's no pleasing me!

BumpyLearningCurve · 10/09/2011 10:16

Hello everyone, so glad to find you all here. Took test yesterday, positive result and due date calculator says 13th May. I've booked to see my GP Tuesday as I have no clue what to do! Also moved recently so my GP isn't even where I live as hadn't got around to changing to a new one.
I'm 41, never been pregnant before, and this is a very happy accident (never thought I'd be a mum as been unsuccessful in relationships). Haven't told anyone yet. I'm overjoyed, but also feel like a rabbit in headlights. Not sure if the father will be around, but plan to tell him this week. Can't even begin to really think about being a single mum, but my gut feeling is I really want to do this.
Worried about miscarriage etc with being 41.
And I feel thirsty all the time (and weepy!)

Byrnsie30 · 10/09/2011 11:30

Hi all,

I got my BFP today (although have suspected for the last few days!)
This will be baby #1, trying since January, 2 chem pregnancies (so feeling a little aprehensive)

DH and I did the test together this morning! Both very pleased, but cautious! Smile

According to MN due date calculator I'm due 16th May (fx)

Hiya floydie. How are you? Is there anyone else from the minibus over here? x
