I only did it a test this morning and have not even told my husband yet!

Thanks Northey - twice before - both first trimester. I am lucky and have 3 beautiful successes too so I do count my lucky stars.

BlueCrane · 26/09/2011 10:02

Morning all...well...new symptom development here that is driving me a bit loopy!! My left eye keeps twitching...started yesterday afternoon, was hoping that after some good sleep last night it's be gone this morning, but alas still there! After some Dr Google research it would seem that others have suffered with this when pregnant...hoping it is a short lived symptom though as it's driving me crazy looking at my computer screen, even driving as well! Making me feel (more) queasy too which isn't helpful either! Anyone else had this happen before?

Yorky · 26/09/2011 10:19

Roll on trimester 2!
I want to be able to eat again without it being such hard work :(
And staying awake past 930 would be good too!

Hope those with spotting (trying so hard not to call you spotty ladies!) are doing OK today

tostaky · 26/09/2011 11:57

I find this is the hardest bit about pregnancy, because I am suffering and I cannot share with anyone?.
Im at work, feeling nauseous and struggling to stay awake and I have to pretend everything is ok?. So difficult?

mildertduck · 26/09/2011 12:52

Hugs and love to the spotters :(

Had my booking in appointment this morning and have my maternity notes - woo! Lots of very complicated stuff in there... Husband has announced it to his immediate colleagues today; cue lots of backslapping man-hugs and jokes about his performance, apparently. Bless. I really like his colleagues so am happy for them to know but I'll keep it shtum here a while longer as I work in a much bigger company. Close friends now know; everyone v excited, which is lifting me out of my vomit-soaked black cloud :)

musicalmrs · 26/09/2011 13:02

Hi all - hope everyone's coping well with Monday-itus!

I'm sadly still spotting/bleeding - not as badly as before, but it's still happening. Scan next Monday - seems ages away! Hope all my fellow spotters are doing ok, and keeping spirits up...

Constipation/wind seem to be my two biggest symptoms, as well as a tender, bloated stomach. I'm hoping that the fact I'm still getting symptoms is a good sign... but we'll see...

I've also been pretty tired. I work as a music teacher (peri - zipping between schools) and start at three more schools this week - think I'll be knackered come Friday!

MyDaydream · 26/09/2011 13:03

My spotting got worse last night, spoke to my midwife today who booked me in for an early scan tomorrow morning, seems like forever to wait. OH is trying to keep me positive, but just keep imagining the worst. Found it hard enough to stay positive and worry free when there was no spotting!

MyDaydream · 26/09/2011 13:04

Musicalmrs, can't even imagine having to wait until Monday, and I'm moaning about having to wait until tomorrow!

Dorris83 · 26/09/2011 13:23

Hi all. I've been lurking for weeks but was superstitiously not going to write until we have our 12 week scan.
But it's just too hard! I've taken a lot of comfort from reading about everyone's symptoms (thank goodness it's not just me!) I'm about 8 weeks and it seems that every week I get a new symptom that adds to the rest! I've had indigestion and nausea last week which is pretty debilitating at work. But this morning the puking began. I had eaten about half a bowl of cereal, and I just puked it all back up, sat on the sofa in my front room! Pretty gross and now I'm worrying about this week with work. I'm on a work trip overseas later this week and am worried il get stuck in a queue at the airport, or in a meeting, and not be able to control the sick!
Any advice? I literally cannot wait for week 12, tell me it will get better?!

BlueCrane · 26/09/2011 13:27

tostaky am totally with you about feeling v rough and having to pretend all is well...soooo tempted to tell my boss but don't really want it to come across that I'm looking for 'allowances to be made' (our team administrator is totally taking advantage of being pregnant at the mo and getting away with doing practically nothing even though she'd perfectly well enough to be doing a normal day's work) - don't want them assuming I'll want the same as I don't, it's just hard not being able to tell anyone IYSWIM. Last week wasn't too bad as I had a cold so could play on that but cold now gone...but silly eye thing, uber tiredness and nausea is here!

musicalmrs and daydream sorry about spotting and waiting for scans...not easy at all!!

musicalmrs · 26/09/2011 13:34

I'm just trying to stay positive MyDaydream. I know that the bleeding/spotting has been a lot less worse than the major one a week Sat, and I know that my hCG level rose between that bleed and my first scan (which was inconclusive, as they couldn't see much apart from a yolk sac). They said two weeks because they could see so little...

How early does baby brain set in, do you think? I completely forgot to do two important things at the weekend! I'm clearly just fishing for an excuse - then again, I'm normally great at remembering things...

skinnymuffin · 26/09/2011 15:20

Hi all :)

Just a quick hello, especially to my fellow spotters - membership cards for knicker-checkers-anonymous anyone?!

I have decided to chin-up about it now. I've had two scans, they don't want to see me again until 12 weeks and if they aren't worried then why should I be? Breezy at all points, that's my new motto!!

Damn I wish this bloody spotting would fuck off to the far side of fuck though...

Meanwhile ds (18 months) is wearing me out with seemingly constant whinging, gaaaaaah! Have ordered the Toddler Whisperer off Amazon now, she saved my life when he was a baby so let's see if she can help me now.

Honestly if it weren't for Downton Abbey and afternoon naps I think I might well flip!

Sorry, breezy, breezy, breezy...

cupcakefairy · 26/09/2011 19:22

skinny YES to Downton Abbey and afternoon naps...also my two big loves in life right now! Grin

CODwidow · 26/09/2011 19:32

Really panicking today that I'm going to go the next 5 weeks thinking alls fine then get bad news at my scan, sorry for the negative post Sad

Little9 · 26/09/2011 19:56

Me too, CODwidow. Trying to stay positive like you skinnymuffin...breezy! Roll on 28th Oct!

goodname · 26/09/2011 20:27

Me too COD mainly as symptoms are not too severe except from the tiredness, wind and constipation! Am still bf DS1 so apparently that can make the sickness better but still worries me I feel quite normal

CODwidow · 26/09/2011 20:30

I'm the same apart from tiredness I have nothing at all it just feels strange as my past 4 pg have made me feel rubbish by now. I'm trying to be positive but it's so hard

MarmiteLover1 · 26/09/2011 22:06

Hello! I've been lurking for a few weeks. My first child due at the start of May and feeling pretty terrified. It has taken a while for me to get my head around the idea. Just as I was beginning to do so I found out last week that there is a good chance I'll be made redundant in a couple of months which is really stressing me out. I just want everything to be ok! On top of this, my other half is currently out of work so finances could be a bit of a nightmare.

The pregnancy has been ok so far, a little bit of nausea in the mornings but I seem to be able to control this with ginger sweets :-)

First appointment with the GP on Thursday morning.

I just wanted to wish everyone who is having a bad time/spotting all the best.

skinnymuffin · 26/09/2011 23:15

CODwidow if it helps, I have no symptoms either but my last scan was ok. I was feeling quite ropey by 6/8 weeks last time I'm sure. I've lost track a bit of the stats sorry, (maybe we should start a stats thread?) how many weeks are you? I'm due May 20th. Most people say every time is different but I can see why you would worry with 4 previous pgs to compare with. Try not to worry lovely, today is just a low day, it will pass and hopefully you will feel brighter tomorrow.

Remember: Cake helps. A lot. Apply liberally in case of emergencies :)

CODwidow · 27/09/2011 07:42

Thanks skinny I'm 7 weeks today (I think) due 16th may Smile

tostaky · 27/09/2011 10:11

who's been thinking about baby names? my DP is driving me crazy with his silly suggestions!! he joked that we could keep the baby if he could chose his name....
Also im divided about finding the gender... We found out for my two boys but i dont want to know for this one... although it is noce to know as you can plan better....

CODwidow · 27/09/2011 10:19

I'm with you there I really don't know whether to find out, I found out with all my boys but thinking about a surprise this time round. But then again it's so much easier to plan and shop!!lol
We've agreed if it's a boy then dh gets to pick but thinking of going back on that promise already as all his names -I hate!!

fingers and toes crossed that we all get to 12 weeks ok xxx

HeidiHole · 27/09/2011 11:28

cod I'm exactly the same as you...7 weeks today due may 16th

My sickness has tailed off the last few days and now I have zero symptoms really I am like you just panicking it will be bad news! I've got a scan tonight at a private clinic 5.30pm because I'm going crazy with worry and need to know if it's ok. For me I just couldn't stanc the worrying of the last few days with no symptoms convincing myself it's a MMC

So will report back and if it's good news hopefully that will reassure you as well!

Rhubarbgarden · 27/09/2011 13:06

I'm exactly the same about finding out gender - last time I really, really needed to know because I really, really, wanted a girl. But this time I have no preference, and I think a surprise might be quite nice. I suspect that when I go for the scan the temptation will be too much though! And dh wants to know. We've already picked out names! We had them before I got my BFP. Bit presumptuous I know but I love that part.
