I only did it a test this morning and have not even told my husband yet!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Northey · 18/09/2011 13:57

That sounds really promising, musicalmrs. Fingers crossed for a good scan on Mon/Tues now. Are you still bleeding?

It's funny how agitated all this can make you. Through all sorts of previous medical issues I've been perfectly calm and sensible and articulate with doctors etc, but over this I'm a verge-of-tears, flappy idiot!

musicalmrs · 18/09/2011 14:35

Thanks for the crossed fingers Northey. I am still bleeding, yes :(

It is strange, isn't it... I've found it hard to concentrate (and I have a huge workload, so it's been tricky) - plus find myself on the verge of tears and bursting into tears a lot more! Poor DH. I've also seen him more concerned than ever :(

Then again, it's wonderful how much better a doctor who knows what they're talking about can make you feel. I felt happy with most of the nurses (who were nearly all wonderful), but unhappy with the A&E docs - mainly because they didn't seem to care, or think it was that important. As soon as I got to the right ward though, the gynae was amazing - she knew exactly what to check, didn't give me false hope but similarly was honest about how good/bad various things were... it was clear she knew what she was doing, unlike the others I had seen that day!

Northey · 18/09/2011 15:17

Oh God, I know exactly what you mean. I have developed the most stonking girl crush on my GP, who has been so fabulous throughout infertility treatment, so pleased for me when things worked, and so intelligently helpful over the empty scan and subsequent blood test results. I am likely to have to change PCT at some point during this pregnancy (please, please let me get to that point in this pregnancy) and I am actually quite distressed at the thought of leaving her for another doctor! It makes such a difference when you are with a healthcare professional whom you instinctively trust and respond to.

I'm sorry you are still bleeding - I really feel for you - but hopefully it will tail off soon, and this week's scan will confirm that everything is moving along nicely.

lalabaloo · 18/09/2011 17:22

Welcome to all the new people :)

I hope all those who have had worries or problems are feeling better now and have some good news. I know what you mean about Doctors Northey, my GP has been amazingly helpful and nice, it really makes a difference.

Getting more sick now, and mildertduck I really feel for you, the next person who tells me "it's a good sign" is getting puked on!

PopEsMummy · 18/09/2011 18:11

Clabby try contacting the early pregnancy unit, or community midwives. I bled last time (at 5, 7 and 9 weeks) and had scans each time. Not private and completely funded by the NHS. Smile

musicalmrs Hope your scan goes well if you have it tomorrow.

I know what you mean about unsympathetic health professionals. When I had the scan at 5 weeks (last time), there was nothing to be seen but a gestation sac and yolk sac. I asked the sonographer if everything looked okay and she just shrugged and told me to come back in a week. I came out of there in tears - it wasn't like I was expecting her to tell me that everything was hunkydory and I should go home and start knitting - just that it was right for the gestation, grr.

FloydieDoydie · 18/09/2011 19:07

Im full of a cold Sad. Just came on today and had been getting worse by the hour! Still, DP is making me a hot blackcurrant and SIL cooked the Sunday roast. Just slobbing out on the sofa to watch crap telly now. Smile

I've been having massively sore stomach after eating though - it's like my tummy goes hard for ages afterwards. The other morning I woke up and could still taste the dinner from the night before; it felt like it was all still sat in my stomach. I guess try are right when they say digestion slows down web your pregnant! I read on here that wind-eze capsules are safe to take, ad they helping a little.

cupcakefairy · 18/09/2011 20:50

Hi ladies...we've told our parents this weekend so all feeling a bit more real now Confused
I feel like I'm massively bloating out though and that everybody is going to be able to tell way before 12 weeks!

It was me who mentioned I had a Close sling further up the thread... I only used it until ds was about 6 months but I have a friend who was still using hers when her dd was 1 year; I think if you just pull it tight they sit in it fine.. you're supposed to be able to use it on your side/back too I think but I never tried that. So fab for getting them to sleep in the early days though (think any wrap-type sling does the job)

Little9 · 18/09/2011 22:47

Hello all. Hope everyone feels better soon. My boobs are extremely tender tonight, so that's a good sign. Still getting a bit of spotting but not too worried about it at mo. Will keep an eye on it and see if anything comes back on Tues from my swab tests. Can't believe how slow the weeks are going by. Still got just over 5 weeks until scan! Was in a foul mood yesterday. Didn't help that DH is in the process of giving up smoking. He's doing really well though, bless him! Nearly 3 weeks without a fag! :o Keep getting a stitch today even though I haven't done anything! What's that all about?

sunshine100 · 19/09/2011 13:46

Hi ladies,
Haven't posted for a little while, don't really have much to update at the mo -apart from wondering if I've made all of this up! Still no symptoms to speak of- slightly sore boobs, but not as bad as they were. Did another test on Friday, just to make sure I'd not imagined the first two tests! Still positive, so I'm not going mad!
We told my sister at the weekend, she was super excited for us, but now my paranoia is kicking in- now I'm worried that we've jinxed ourselves! Wish I could put it out my head until it's time for the scan! Have my GP appt tomorrow evening, so we'll see how that goes! Hope everyone is doing okay! :)

myweeangel · 19/09/2011 21:45

Adding that this will be no 2 for me! Hope you're all well. Haven't been on for few days (slept most of the weekend!!!) but shall have a wee read through the thread now.

hope everyone is okay.

work is being a bit bad at the moment, i'm just so shattered all the time, i just want to sleep! I haven't had morning sickness after thursday when i had to call in sick BUT i have had bad nausea after every single meal every day. Most times it hits whilst i'm eating and i cannot finish my food

Digggers · 20/09/2011 06:42

hello again!

i'm fine really, bit tired, bit nauseous, bit sore of boob but nothing insurmountable just now! dying to tell everyone!

Yorky · 20/09/2011 09:59

The thread fell off 'threads I'm on' so about time I put it back on or I'll never find you all and keep up!

Have finally been to docs and got my 1st appt with MW, couldn't believe it when instead of the little cardboard wheel he got out his iphone to calculate my due date! :D

Feeling tired, don't think I've been up past 9 for a week now! and really struggling with food - think its partly a blood sugar issue cos I'm uncomfy 1st thing in the morning but then pretty OK during the day as long as I snack (poor me!) but yesterday I just did the kids nuggets and beans for tea so I meant to eat with DH when he got in. By the time we'd put the kids to bed I couldn't face cooking, was feeling the worst I had all day and had a bowl of cereal and went to bed! It took me half an hour to eat the cereal :( He is so patient with me. It doesn't help that we've just moved to our first own home after living in military accommodation for the last 7years and its quite a lot smaller so its taking a while to unpack, find room for stuff, find time to do tip trips with a load of junk that has moved house with us too many times. Will be better after they've done the loft insulation tomorrow when we can shove stuff up there out of the way! But I'm just too tired in the evenings to be much help

Sorry for whinging, especially when others are having a much harder time.

Putting this baby as #4 on the list again

Hi everyone, can I join you please? Got my BFP on Sunday, due 28th May (I think), but will likely be earlier as going for an ELCS. Hoping I make it that far, due to mc (june) and cp (august), and am seriously stressing over every symptom / lack thereof!!! I recognise some of you from the conception thread - hope you don't mind me adding myself to the stats.

Quenelle · 20/09/2011 11:34

Hi Catsycat. Huge congratulations on your BFP Smile

I've got my scan date through, 25th October. Luckily that's the week DH and I had decided to book off work so I won't have to think up an excuse for the boss. Am looking forward to being able to tell people after the scan. It feels wrong not to tell my parents and best friends such big news but we really want to wait until we're happy everything's ok.

Am starting to feel sicker now. At the moment I'm not off any food but if it's like last time I expect I will go off vegetables soon. I'm trying to lay off the sugary stuff because of the GD.

Catsycat · 20/09/2011 11:57

Thanks Quenelle. How exciting that you have your scan booked! It is lovely to be able to tell everyone. Hope you aren't feeling too bad - did you have bad sickness last time?

I am meant to phone EPU at 6 weeks to book a scan for 8 weeks. I don't think I will start to relax at all until after that.

I seem to get food aversions / slight cravings quite early on. With DD1, olives and dairylea triangles. With DD2, fruit juice, but couldn't bear to be near cooked cheese. This time, I'm already wanting red meat and curry, and have gone right off fish - just can't bear the texture. Enjoy veg while you can!!!

mildertduck · 20/09/2011 13:15

How do ladies,

Well, it is official: I'm officially a member of the Hyperemesis Gravidarum club...! Had terrible, horrible day yesterday where nothing was staying down and my lovely team leader had to come and rescue me from the loos, give me a hug and send me packing :( slept for a record 18 hours. Phoned GP this morning to see if I could maybe get an appointment for later in the week but the receptionist thought I should speak to the duty GP who insisted I go in at lunchtime... I love my GP practice, I really really do. I now have cyclizine 50mg to take three times a day and have been told to eat soup so as to keep my salt levels up. Feeling gradually more human and less pathetic since the medics are taking me seriously.

Got all excited yesterday when I got home as I had post with the JR post-code on and I thought it might be my scan date, but alas, was for the charitable giving brochure...

musicalmrs · 20/09/2011 13:31

milder, so sorry to hear you've been so ill - but glad to hear you're feeling more human!

I had my first scan today. They saw a yolk sac, but that was it - no heartbeat, but it is quite early on. The main bit of good news is that it's not ectopic (which was a fear, due to the amount of bleeding I've had). They had my EDD down as 10th May - but they also thought I should be put back a bit, dating wise, so we'll see what happens.

Had another blood test to check hcg levels - once I know what they are we'll know if all's well or not. Another scan booked for two weeks time..

Other than that, I still have a particularly tender stomach - which is particularly large due to bloating! My appetite's also increased tremendously - although this could be a reaction to it completely diminishing for the first couple of weeks...

Catsycat · 20/09/2011 13:46

Sorry about the HG Mildert, sounds very nasty, but I'm glad you're getting some help with it now. Hope the meds work!

Glad you got the all clear for ectopic, musicalmrs. Hope you are OK.

Wommer · 20/09/2011 14:10

Hi all - mind if I join... Think my due date is 21st may
Xx

Wommer · 20/09/2011 14:14

Phew that worked! Been trying to post a message for ages but wouldn't work!
Only found out yesterday that I'm pg with our first....
Have to admit to being absolutely terrified! Did anyone else feel like this?
Before when I thought about it I'd get all loved up and gooey, but now that it's all for real I seem to be panicking BIG style!
Please tell me this gets better and that I will be able to remember all of the reasons that I was excited before?
Think it might be because only came off the pill 6 weeks ago and thought i had MUCH longer to get used to the idea!
Anyway - sorry for waffling
Thanks x

Byrnsie30 · 20/09/2011 17:55

Hi all,

Haven't posted for a few days and it looks like it has been a busy time! I have skimmed through the most recent posts to catch up!

Welcome new comers!

Redslippers how are things going? I had planned to do test #2 at the weekend, but was put off by the confusions and worry it caused you! I have 1 CBD in the drawer and now I'm not sure I should use it (despite not being entirely convinced I'm PG)

Little9 I think I'm in the same boat as you. Only sore boobs as far as symptoms go and I had very, very light spotting Sunday and Monday. Seems to have gone now fx!

Sunshine I know what you mean about jinxing it. I told 2 friends at the weekend and the next day started spotting. I was completely worried and miserable the whole of Sunday!!!

So, to test or not to test? If I don't test I may not be PG at all, if I do test I may end up worrying until I can get an early scan. My doc has requested one for me, but I'm waiting to hear from the hospital!

Also, I ate parma ham and salami etc at the weekend (not much) and now I'm worried about that too - aaahhh!!!

Heeeellllpp!!!! x

Can I join please?!
Got BFP about a week ago. According to the internet I'm due around the 15th May.
I had a mmc in May. GP has refused to send me for reassurance scan, so his nurse is sending me for a dating scan (had short period in August!)
Think morning sickness kicked in this morning. Woke up feeling like I had a tummy bug. Every time i left the bathroom, I was running straight back in. Haven't actually been sick, just continual retching and runny poo!! Blush Even water was making me retch, gave up trying to eat as it just made me feel worse. Didn't manage to stomach anything until lunchtime! Can't wait for tomorrow!! Grin
