I only did it a test this morning and have not even told my husband yet!

FloydieDoydie · 15/09/2011 19:39

I'm currently freaking out as our carbon monoxide detector just went off.

The emergency gas dude is here, all the doors and windows are open, and he says his pocket co2 alarm is not going off so jot to worry.

But he's found the meter outside was leaking gas (!!!) so he's got to fix that before he can investigate if the boiler was leaking co2 before the alarm went off. The alarm is out of date, and I'm just trying to keep calm.

I really want to just run straight to hospital, I'm so scared Sad

cupcakefairy · 15/09/2011 19:41

goodname Yes I can't believe how tiring it is with a toddler compared to last time round. I almost told some of the mums at the baby gym class we go to as I looked pathetic not being able to lift ds much etc during the games...I was knackered!! My ds is super active too but in a way I'm happy about that as it could mean a)I don't get a back to back baby this time (cos I'm on all 4s all the time picking stuff up etc!) and b)baby might not be overdue cos of all the activity...you never know!!
Just read back on the thread and saw you saying you felt sad about not having as much time for your ds- me too! I cried the other day thinking about it and not wanting him to feel pushed out :( But just have to remember what an amazing gift a sibling is for them.

As for double buggies I too have my heart set on the City Mini double (in green Grin) I have a friend who has 2 dc and didn't get on well with the Phil & Ted's at all- said it was too heavy, got lots of punctures, nowhere to put changing bag etc...and she loves the city mini she has now. I'm gonna keep our Maclaren Quest though to sometimes wear baby with ds in pushchair and later to go back to with ds on a buggy board.
I looooved my Close sling with ds and he always fell asleep in it so hoping this one will like it too.

Can't believe I'm talking buggies already Hmm

Also meant to say before I remember somebody posting about crying a lot (sorry can't remember the name)...just wanted to say you're not alone! In my first pregnancy I cried almost every day out of fear/anxiety etc (was a very much planned pregnancy too) I now think I had antenatal depression/anxiety. Have felt that mild panic a bit this time round but really hoping it won't come back as strong. I remember just not being able to join in the chat on the May 2010 thread cos everyone was so excited and I was just so scared and sad. So please do talk about it; lots of us might be feeling the same.

Sorry for massive ramble Blush

cupcakefairy · 15/09/2011 19:42

x-post Floydie hope it all turns out ok Confused don't worry I'm sure he'd have bundled you off to hospital if there was any risk.

FloydieDoydie · 15/09/2011 20:46

Phew. No co2 detected, thank god! But so glad that he came really and discovered the gas leak. Also, the co2 alarm is out of date as they are supposed to be replaced every 5 years.

Please everyone check your co2 detector for the repose end date listed on it. And if you don't have one, get one!

PopEsMummy · 15/09/2011 20:59

MandaHugNKiss I've got woven wraps, a mai tei (although that is toddler sized so wouldn't do for a new baby) and a ring sling. I've never tried a moby but I'm thinking of getting one to try with the new baby. If you want advice about slings have a look on 'natural mamas' (forum), there's loads of people there who are more than willing to try and get others obsessed with slings Wink

I'm also crying lots. Not as much as last time yet - I remember breaking down every time that Aviva advert came on last time (the one with the dad trying to put his baby in a sleepsuit, aww). Also worrying about what DD will think of it all and hoping she wont feel pushed out Sad, especially since DH has been hinting that I should stop bf'ing her by the time the new baby comes.

Floydie glad everything turned out alright Smile

ohfuschia · 15/09/2011 23:45

Thanks for your thoughts, appreciate them. Hopefully I'll soon find myself on another antenatal thread with as nice a bunch as you lot.

jezebelle · 16/09/2011 08:57

Morning, i'm sooooo tired. Been testing daily as i still can't believe i'm pg again in such a short time !!

Cacacaz · 16/09/2011 13:04

Jezebelle I too am very tired, and for the last few days had a touch of back ache to add to my symptoms

ohfucsia hope to see you on a thread soon

FloydieDoydie I'm glad there was no carbon monoxide detected, it must have been scary to say the least

Byrnsie30 · 16/09/2011 13:18

Hi ladies,

Well, things still seem to be going smoothly over here (fx, touch wood etc!)

I am still anxious and having dreams about things going wrong!

Going to do a test to reassure myself tomorrow!

Hope everyone is well. Hope many first time mums do we have on here?X

Byrnsie30 · 16/09/2011 13:19

Should say 'How many first time mums do we have on here?'!!! x

Little9 · 16/09/2011 14:02

I'm a first timer! Maybe we ought to update the list to say how many children we already have?

Cacacaz · 16/09/2011 14:10

Byrnsie30 I have been toying with the idea of doing another test, to add to the many I have already taken!

I am a first time mum, so will be here with my wobbles, looking for advice and words of wisdom from all the experienced mums on here.

I can't recall who mentioned pushchairs/prams, but I have been looking at them already and have my beady eye on the uppababy pram.

elizabethtailored · 16/09/2011 14:20

I will be another first timer! Have been reading my Mumsnet pregnancy guide at night and am finding the whole thing a little overwhelming - have SOO many questions.

Have been given my first scan date in mid Oct so am looking forward to that - and also glad as that is nearly the end of the first trimester.

OP posts:
Northey · 16/09/2011 14:58

I will be another first timer (assuming blood tests and further scans reveal a baby is still actually in here, but I am thinking positively!).

RedSlippers · 16/09/2011 15:07

Hi all, and congratulations! I'm due (according to the online calculators) 12th May. This will be my first.
Am really suffering with nerves though, and looking for any reassurance from you... I had a very, very small amount of pink blood Tues eve, followed by period like cramps during the night (no blood), have had no further blood or pains since.
Wasn't too worried as I know people can bleed lightly in pregnancy, but I did another pregnancy test this morning to reassure myself, but it's actually made me feel much worse.
Its a CBD, which gives the conception date. Worrying thing is it's given exactly the same result as when I did it 10 days ago- i.e. I'm not a week further as I presumed I would be. Both tests were done with FMU.
Now I am panicking because of the test and the blood that something has gone wrong, I also have no symptons at all which troubles me. Anyone experienced anything similar who can put my mind at rest?
I really want to be excited and enjoy this, but feel sick with worry and nerves at the moment.

eliz go ahead and ask any questions, I guess the second, third etc timers will do their best to answer! (Or did you mean questions for doctors/HCPs?)

redslippers hello :) these tests can really mess with our heads... have you tried the advanced search option on MN and search if anybody has posted a topic about a similar thing before...can sometimes be reassuring.

TooOldForThisLark · 16/09/2011 15:38

RedSlippers I read lots of people moaning (with happy outcomes) about the conception indicator accuracy on the CBD. Apparently bands 1-2 and 3+ are very accurate but the 2-3 weeks band is less accurate.

RedSlippers · 16/09/2011 15:47

Thank you Cupcake and TooOld. I will search the topics, perhaps it is just the conception indicators can be inaccurate.
Just having a bit of a wobble today... Actually wishing for some sickness, sore boobs, etc!!
These tests do indeed mess with your head- I wasn't worried until I did the one this morn. I'll have a search now. Thanks again.

RedSlippers · 16/09/2011 16:34

Ok, my mind has now been well and truly put at ease. I am certainly not the first to have the issue with the CBD conception date, and I am going to relax and be confident and add myself:

dreamingofanallotment · 16/09/2011 16:58

I'm glad it's not just me doing another test! Hubby thought I was batty last night, but seeing as I'd been to the doctor's that evening, I wanted to make sure I actually was still preggers!
RedSlippers I had a tiny amount of pink when I went to the loo on Monday eve - I mentioned it to the doctor yesterday and she said it was absolutely nothing to worry about.

Pregnancy symptoms seemed to have kicked in for me this morning (DH reckons it's because I've been to the doctor and it actually feels real now!) as I felt so queasy this morning I had to sit down in the shower! Had the most disgusting metally taste in my mouth too, blurgh! And Blush has anyone else been having rather more x-rated dreams than usual?!?

Am feeling very tired today. Also incredibly thirsty with salty/metallic taste.

Somebody up thread say they use a Close baby carrier. I had one for DS but when he was newborn it wasn't supportive enough. He used to sort of fold in half in the middle. What was I doing wrong? I want to use it again because it was great when DS was about 3 months old, he would fall asleep within minutes of being put in.

Redslippers - I have been getting pinky discharge this week. Went to nurse and she took a swab for testing but said unless I started getting constant pain (not period type pains) then there was usually nothing to worry about.

My boobs are still only ever so slightly tender and I slept for 10 hours last night (lazy sod!!) :o
