Northey it's really difficult isn't it, i'm sitting here desperately hoping to be really sick tomorrow morning! The rash is still intensely itchy :(

Little9 Big hugs for you, how many weeks are you? I really hope it is not bad news for you. Apparently pink discharge/bleeding isn't always a bad sign

knittymum · 13/09/2011 22:21

Hi everyone, can I get a seat on this bus? Just got my BFP yesterday, confirmed today (does everyone do that, having to use tests from a different brand, or is it just me?) and I'm trying to be positive and assume that all will be well.

Woohoo Knitty! Lovely to see another minibus graduate Smile

I've been rather itchy, but assumed I was because I'm not allowed my usual heavy-duty antihistamines that I take for my Purigo Simplex/Urticaria (stress itchiness!). Maybe it's also hormones....?

I'm due to see a neurologist tomorrow, to see if he can diagnose my weird dizzy/faintness (ongoing preBFP). Problem is, won't be able to have scans etc. And possibly any medication to fix it. Work are being really arsey because I've been off sick with this for a while, and now I'm also up the duff. They are gonna LOVE me Blush ah, boo to them!

FloydieDoydie · 13/09/2011 22:51

Not that I've told work yet. And I don't intend to for a while. None of their damn business (yet)

Hi all,

Been having some twinges of pain today which I'm a bit concerned about, don't remember that with Ds - has anyone else had any? Otoh boobs still sore so hoping that's a good sign!

I told a couple of my best friends today and they were really excited but now I'm worrying that maybe I'll MC Sad

Had my GP appt on Monday, waiting for a scan date to come through - here we get the nuchal fold test at 9-13 wks so I'm hoping to get one soon but not even 6wks yet so seems ages to wait!

Realised I hadn't added my name to the stats so here goes

Northey · 14/09/2011 06:14

Hi lindsell. I've been experiencing all sorts of aches and twinges in my pelvic region. The same sort of area where you feel period cramps, only this feels more like someone poking into a muscle with their index finger. I mentioned it to GP yesterday and she didn't seem concerned.

Little9, how are things going with the discharge? I hope it has slackened off now and you are feeling better.

ohfuschia · 14/09/2011 06:44

Hello, it seems from the numerous tests I've done and the NHS due date calculator that I'm hopefully due my second on 17th May (have a DS 2.1). Sorry can't seem to get the list up using my phone. Have had the twinges also and some queasiness but nothing too bad, I did have a few dodgy moments yesterday as in my job I have to get up and down out if my seat to the public and had a few 'whooshes' when I got up yesterday. Wasn't going to tell work yet but we are having a massive refurbishment starting in a few weeks and usually I'd be doing a lot of heavy lifting, so without telling porkies which I'm rubbish at I think I'll have to tell sooner than I might otherwise. Luckily they are very good employers. The wind situation has not been too bad thankfully but like an earlier poster I have 3 dogs who will cover for me. Good luck to everyone.

Quenelle · 14/09/2011 11:26

Hi ohfuschia and congratulations. We'll have a similar age gap, my DS is 2.3. I've added you to the list.

Little9 how's the spotting now? If it makes you feel any better when I was pregnant with DS I had major dark red when I wiped at 5+6, a TV scan showed a heartbeat so panic over. And at 6+6 I had bright red blood running down my leg. After an internal exam and a scan all was found to be fine.

I actually had a bit of pink discharge when I wiped the other night but nothing since. I'm pretty sure that due to this damned constipation I had strained a bit too hard trying to poo and perhaps burst a little blood vessel Blush. Anyway, hope all is well with you now. Obviously go to your GP if you're at all worried.

I've had a lot of twinges, mostly a pulling feeling if I twist round. Sometimes it's been really quite painful. I think it might be round ligament pain.

Does anyone else have an uber sensitive gag reflex? I had this last time as well, when I brush my teeth the toothbrush makes me heave.

Northey · 14/09/2011 12:16

No gag reflex here. But now I have another thing to add to my list of Symptoms I Don't Have :) Sounds annoyingly unavoidable, if you get it from brushing your teeth.

Just had my early scan booked for tomorrow.

pastafantastic · 14/09/2011 12:43

Hi - may I join?

Im only had the big revealation a few days ago, due sometime in mid May. It'll be my second baby (I hope), as my first is 11 months.

Still feeling incredibly flighty, nervous and emotional as the first few weeks feel so tentative.

I've enjoyed reading what everyone is up to and comiserating on some of the symptoms. Quenelle - I've definitely got the gag reflex when cleaning teeth. It's utterly charming....

elizabethtailored · 14/09/2011 14:00

I have put this under Pregnancy too but wonderign if anyone could help pls?

Choice of where to go for booking appt/midwife care

I am in London and have had letter asking me to go for my booking appt in a clinic nowhere near my usual GP?s surgery. It is in the same borough but is not near where I live or easy to get to for me. I would plan to get the tube from work back to my borough and then straight back to work following. It is not on a tubeline and would be a real pain to get to. I am not sure why I am being sent here.

Do people know how much choice I have in where I get to go for this? Can I ask to see all the options of where my booking appt could take place in the borough where I live and then choose which one to go to? It seems odd not to have a service at my GP?s surgery or to be sent somewhere nearer my house.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Sorry Elizabeth Tailored, can't help. Someone else will soon I'm sure.

Byrnsie30 · 14/09/2011 17:09

Hey all!

Congratulations knitty nice to have another mini-buser here Smile

I'm with you on the symptoms northey All I have are sore boobs (which increases and decreases). I did have some abdominal and groin pain/cramps a few days ago. Stupidly I was panicked when I had them and now I panicked that I don't!

What is everyone taking with regards to vitamins ? I am taking folic acid, but I'm considering going back on the pregnacare now that I'm actually PG. I was taking it when we first started ttc, but it got too expensive! x

Northey · 14/09/2011 17:19

I'm just taking folic acid, byrnsie, but might upgrade to something more comprehensive. I flicked through a "What To Eat When Up The Duff" sort of book in the library earlier, and am now a bit panicky at all the things missing from my diet! Somehow it seems worse when you k find out what the vitamin/mineral is for. I don't eat oily fish, and wasn't that stressed about it until I read that my baby will be IODINE-DEPRIVED and UNDER-INTELLIGENT as a result.

But it seems a bit of a waste when I'm barely a fifth ofthe way through the pot of folic acid!

Quenelle · 14/09/2011 17:22

I'm only taking folic acid. DH feeds me I eat a healthy, balanced diet at the moment so am happy I'm getting all the essentials. However, if I go off veg and can only stomach fish fingers, potato waffles and baked beans for three months again I will reconsider.

Northey · 14/09/2011 17:30

Mmm, I could just fancy a potato waffle right now! Early craving? Or greed? Hmm.

Cacacaz · 14/09/2011 17:41

I am taking folic acid (one a day) a effervescent berooca and calcium tablets.

My gp was very impressed with all the vitamins and minerals that are in berroca and has told me to continue to take it right through my pregnancy. She said she had never heard of it before, but would recommend as a general multiivitamin.

Marmite123 · 14/09/2011 18:44

I'm taking the Boots own brand pregnancy vits - the ttc pregnacare vits made me seriously constipated so steering clear.

Had an early scan yesterday - I had an existing appointment for a gyny follow up scan after my mc in May, I thought she might send me away with a telling off when I told her I was pg but she was so lovely and did a really thorough scan.

Not a great deal to see yet as only 5+5 but reassuring to see the sac and yolk, measurements all normal and all clear on the abnormalities they were meant to be checking for (septate uterus). Big relief. Only thing missing was a heart beat, but that's not surprising Pre 6 weeks and my new favourite doctor ever has booked me in for another NHS "reassurance scan" next week at 7weeks when it should be there.

Really pleased as I was thinking of going for a private scan, but seems to be at least £100 in London. Just hoping it's good news next week.

lalabaloo · 14/09/2011 19:23

I want potato waffles too!

Sickness and sore boobs back today, quite reassuring but not particularly enjoyable!

Little9 · 14/09/2011 23:10

Hello ladies. Thanks for the support. Been to doctors and have had a swab taken for testing. Nurse didn't think it was too much to worry about and have only had a little spot today so fingers crossed! I'm 6 weeks (ish) on Friday lalabaloo, so still irritatingly miles away from a scan! Still only getting the odd twinge, no gag reflex or even a hint of a sore boob! Currently just taking folic acid.

lindsell · 14/09/2011 23:27

Hi all, thanks for reassurance, twinges a bit less today and maybe it is ligaments, my physiotherapist says the relaxin really kicks in between 2-10wks. She also said that bfing means the relaxin doesn't leave the body until you stop - I bf Ds for 18mths which is prob why my back has not properly recovered!

Elizabethtailored - I'm also in london and when I had Ds the gp gave me a list of the hospitals I could choose from, they weren't all in my borough, there's odd groupings of hospitals. If you ask your gp surgery they should be able to tell you. I just opted
for the closest last time and again this time.

ohfuschia · 15/09/2011 00:37

Thanks Quenelle for adding me, unfortunately it seems I'm not now pregnant - was going to phone the doctor's for my booking appt and thought I'd just do a test before and that and 2 subsequent tests came up negative. Just started bleeding so that's that I guess. Very best wishes to all of you and your May babies.

Byrnsie30 · 15/09/2011 09:36

Hi all,

So sorry to hear your sad news ohfuschia, and best of luck for the future.

little9 I'm glad you're feeling reassured, I'm the same with lack of symptoms - it's driving me crazy! Early days yet though! I think I will be 6 weeks on Saturday (and plan to take a reassurance test then!!)

It's a little confusing with CBD test as they give you the number of weeks since conception and not actually the number of weeks a doctor would consider you to be Confused

Welcome and congrats popEsmum

Interesting what you say about pregnacare marmite123 I started taking them in January, by about March I began to feel a pressure in the left hand side of my lower abdomen. I could feel it when I lifted my left leg to my body (ie. when driving). I had an ultra sound, blood tests which were all clear. I was told that the ultra sound wouldn't show the bowl and that it could be IBS. Then it occured to me that it could be the vitamons irratating my bowl - stopped taking them and the problem has lessened! Bit of a long story - soz!!

Think I might get Boots own vits too and see how that goes!

On the oily fish front, you're not supposed to eat too much of it either - it's a fine balancing act this pregnancy lark. The NHS web page has some good and brief advice on eating in pregnancy! x Smile

cupcakefairy · 15/09/2011 09:51

Hi ladies...popping my head round the door to say hello. I'm expecting baby no.2, have a ds who is 15 months. Am a little terrified anxious as had quite a nasty birth experience with ds but excited to have a new one :)

So sorry to those who have lost their little ones; can sympathise as I mc'd in 2009...horrible so do take care of yourselves.

Hi Yorky! We were on the May 2010 thread together...I just checked the list from there and our ds were born just a day apart :) I'm determined to have a May baby this time and not to be left hanging on until June!!

Can hugely recommend this book for those who asked- Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth Think it's been mentioned already. I read it last time round and it's really funny and real as well as some sound advice. I hated the Miriam Stoppard type ones that are too 'medical' they just scared me!

Anyway, look forward to sharing the journey with you all :)
