Morning all. Hope everyone's ok and not too sick this morning. I'm still just getting a bit of queasiness, although yesterday I didn't eat as soon as I got up and started to feel really sick.
Had my appointment at the GPs yesterday. She's given me a different est due date of 9 May. She only asked for my CD1 and then looked at her little wheel thing, she didn't ask how long my cycles are. Every online calculator I've looked at asks for cycle length and tells me 7 May. Oh well, I'll wait and see what they say at my 12 week scan. She also said I would have consultant-led care due to my age and the borderline GDD I had last time.
I made up quite a convincing lie about why I wasn't drinking when out with friends on Saturday night. But by coincidence one of my friends announced she is 12 weeks pregnant. I was bursting to tell but it's too soon, and it would have taken the focus off her, which wouldn't have been fair. Am very excited that I'm due 6 weeks after her, I'll have a chum to visit when I'm on maternity leave.
I bought the Mumsnet Guide to Pregnancy but tbh I'm finding it a bit irritating. I definitely won't show DH the father's section at the end, it's so patronising. He hates those blokes' guides, they always assume he's more interested in football and widescreen TVs than the baby.
Last time I read The Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth, which was ok, quite entertaining, and Conception, Pregnancy and Birth by Miriam Stoppard which I only flicked through occasionally, although DH preferred it as it presents the facts in a factual way, rather than trying to be entertaining. Towards the end I wanted more information about breastfeeding so I read The Food of Love which was brilliant. I referred to it a lot in the early weeks after DS was born.
