Well, are we?

Has the sickness abated?
Are our locks shiny and luscious?
Are our nails long and strong?
Are we back on form in the 'ahem' bedroom?

No? Well we soon will be ladies it's The second Trimester*

Had mw today and all went well, my urine, blood pressure and tests were all clear and fine :) Listened to the heart beat, she found it straight away and it did a little kick which you could hear, was just lovely :D Ive been given tubi-grip to wear though to help with my back.

Its so lovely that a lot of us are starting to feel kicks, i love that i can talk to people going through the same things :D My kicks feel like little pokes now but it does feel like bubbles to start with.

3 weeks til my 20 week scan, YAY. Cant believe its September tomorrow.. Shock

hey all, hope we are all well. Pages and pages to read through since my last post, but don't have the time to read all of it today. Think i'll save it for later tonight :)

I'm just here for a whinge and a moan really. And when i'm done you can tell me to get a grip. Just feeling a little detached from it all really. The tiredness is just silly and its getting to the point where i swear DH thinks i'm making it up. But i'm really really not. And apart from the tiredness all symptoms have gone, and that's half the problem. No symptoms, i've lost 8.8lbs since i found out and not gained anything. I know its early but not felt any movement yet you read people in other threads that are feelin little flutters at 12 weeks, then i have Beyonce going 'tada i'm pregnant too' and flaunting her 'bump' in my face! Yet 15+3 weeks later i have nothing. Nada. FFS when do i get mine?! Even just a little incling of something.

Actually reading that back i have 2 symptoms. Tiredness and mental hormones. God.

phlossie · 31/08/2011 18:31

Is this your first melliebobs? Sorry that I can't remember! People tend to feel their babies move later in first pregnancies - mine was 20ish weeks with DC1 and 17 with DC2 and 15 with this one. Also, my friend didn't show much at all - she got married at 6 months, but her bump I swear was smaller than mine is now... needless to say she pretty much left hospital in her pre-baby jeans, while I looked like a hippo for 8 months.

If it's any comfort, my symptoms have gone and my bump looks smaller today. I'm very paranoid it'll go wrong. Only I'm dead tired and I just cried because my DD scratched me by accident. So they haven't gone really!

lovely news about your appointment babycarmen. I want to hear my baby's heartbeat again!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 31/08/2011 19:18

I'm feeling a bit less sick with the cyclizine, but still don't feel WELL. I didn't feel well the whole time I was pregnant with DD, so I think I'm just crap at being pregnant. At least the spots are a bit better, even if the constipation's worse (what a bundle of misery I am!)

woowa · 31/08/2011 19:25

phlossie i must say i've never heard of that blood stuff! Bizarre Is she in england? AFAIK, we're not tested for anything like that. It's "which blood group are you?" positive "right, no worries then!" I'm A+ too.

Second the reassurance for melliebobs, you really really shouldn't expect a bump or kicks for first pregnancy until much later. SOrry that we old timers are going on about it so much. You'll understand when you feel it HOW wonderful it is, and you'll go on about it too. In the meantime, don't worry, there is unlikely to be any reason to worry (but in my first pg i worried all the time, so am a bit of a hypocrite :) ).

DD didn't nap again today, it's getting VERY hard to cope with. At least she went to sleep at 6pm rather than 9.30 for the past few nights, so I also went to bed at 6.15pm. I think this might be the earliest yet! SO tired. Wish i had annual leave or maternity leave coming up!! Sometimes I'd just like to go away for a few days!! (oh, i did in july...).

QueenFee · 31/08/2011 19:38

My first movements actually feel like palpatations really weird with the occasional someone is washing up in my stomach feeling!

I'm o-neg o the bliss of those anti-d injections. My poor sister had to have them every 2 weeks due to regular bleeding because of a cervical erosion. I will just have the standard one at 28 weeks then at birth if the baby is +.

My body has given up everything is hard work! I look very pregnant now too so all the interfering comments have started.

Anyway i'm now 16 weeks!

babycarmen · 31/08/2011 19:52

mellie I didnt feel my first movements with DD1 til 18 weeks and i remember it feeling like forever, even people i spoke to said they felt it at 16 weeks, (boo!) and then 15 with this one, and my bump is quite big but my SIL who is 6 weeks ahead of me is hardly showing at all! I have quite a boyish slim figure so maybe it shows more :/ idk. Dont worry soon you will be getting big fat kicks in your ribcage and thats fun ;)

Ah yes forgot to mention that my results are back and im STILL A+ so no worries and no reason for me to get all confused hah!

Another symptom i have (be jealous) is Spots.. my word ive never had so many in my life! I never usually get any even at that time of the month but thanks to my lovely pregnancy hormones i have heaps :( all over my face. Ahhh! Joys.

Crazybit · 31/08/2011 20:12

Hi ladies.Just giving a little wave to everyone.

I'm very tired, grumpy and hormonal atm. OH has dared to go on a stag do early this morning till Fri abroad, then he is sodding off treking round Peru for most of Septermber. I don't like him very much at the moment. Angry Kids have been playing up, I 'm feeling sorry for myself and really don't enjoy any part of pregnancy. How I wish men could be pregnant for a week, just to give them a bit of understanding.

Someone give me a slap and tell me to get a grip! Wink

woowa · 31/08/2011 20:31

babycarmen -i'm the total opposite, I have spots (not MAJOR but always some) ALL the time. EXCEPT when i'm pg, now i have none. I don't even have to wash my face when pg :) If i miss even one wash when not pg i break out. One of the things I love about being pg. But I'd rather be you and NOT have spots most of the time!!

crazybit, why don't you book a trek round argentina in October? sure being pg when stop you doing much!!

PamBeesly · 31/08/2011 20:36

crazybit I hear you, I'd love if the OH's could just spend 1 day pregnant, the nausea, the sore boobs, the exhaustion, the sleeplessness (due to an itch that is still undiagnosed but not giving me anymore than 2-3hr sleep max, and it hurts like hell)
I think your OH is very very very lucky that you let him go away, I hope he really appreciates it :)
You don't need a slap either, you are entitled to feel like that :)

Crazybit · 31/08/2011 20:38

Woowa-That's a bloody good idea, he will have to sort childcare and I will go somewhere a lot- -more relaxing and nicer than there and just lay on the beach for a month! I wish. /i always have some spots even when pregnant. Well, my nievce is apparantly going to be born on the next couple of hours Grin SIL has been getting v frustrated ( one week late ).

Crazybit · 31/08/2011 20:39

Pam-The Peru one I don't mind, been booked ages. The stag do one I said I'd reather he didn't, he ignored me, I should leave him a little present in his treking boots. Wink

Xavielli · 31/08/2011 20:41

Melliebobs- I didn't feel movement with ds1 until after my 20 week scan. Like I said earlier in the thread this limbo phase is annoying! Didn't have a noticeable bump until around the same time too, and DS was born quite small, some babies just aren't very big!

So annoyed with XP!!!!! (DS1 and DD dad) he has been out of work for nearly 2 years so we don't get any maintainance. I asked him at the start of the holidays if he'd buy the kids school shoes he said he'd save up. He even phoned me two weeks ago to find out the date they go back (6th) so I phone him today whilst in town to ask what time to book an appointment for the kids to be measured in Clarks tomorrow, he says he can't do it this week it will have to wait until next Thursday!! 6 weeks chuffing notice and he still can't manage it!! Just so annoyed!! This is just the last in a long line of things he's done to show the kids are not a priority for him. And I feel so sorry that one day the kids will realise what a useless lump he is!! Grrrr! Sorry, needed to vent. DP is going to buy them shoes, if anything I think he is even angrier than I am.

woowa · 31/08/2011 20:48

Sorry about XP xavielli, that is really disappointing for you. Hooray for DP who has stepped into the dad breach.

crazybits, are you thinking a scorpion, a poo, half a dead mouse (we have loads of those lying about i can send you)? All sorts of things you wouldn't want to tread on when going walking. Hard to poo in a boot though.

Sorry, couldn't resist. And, not sure why I suggested treking in argentina for you, what i meant was, why not go to a meditteranean spa for a fortnight in october. HOW nice would that be?! my feet already killing me after a day on the feet like today, would like a massage!

Crazybit · 31/08/2011 20:57

Woowa, considering he used to wear gloves to change nappies, poo would be good one Wink

Anywhere for a break with no kids would be amazing, just for a day even!

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes by the way, I have sausage fingers.

PamBeesly · 31/08/2011 21:00

crazybit Grin at leaving him a little present in his trekking boots!

Crazybit · 31/08/2011 21:01

Oh xav, sorry ex is crap. Could you say that he needs to pay dp back then, just to send home the message that he is shit, and your new dp is having to do the adult caring father figure thing.

melliebobs · 31/08/2011 21:06

Thanks for the reassurance guys. Just had a pop rarr day at work n came home to a empty house n was left steaming for a couple of hours. Yerr this is my first so I know everything will be later. Just want
And need that reassurance that's everything as it should be. Got 16 week check a week Friday so fingers crossed they have a look for a heartbeat. Not even heard that yet!!!!

God why does human pregnancy have to be 9 months or whatever?! Why can't we have a quicker one like dogs where it's 60 days!!! We live in a day n age where everything is instant and at the touch of a button. Yet baby making is yet to evolve!!!!!

pinkhollie · 31/08/2011 22:31

Probably no reassurance at all mellie but my cousin didn't even know she was pregnant until 26 weeks and she was 30 not some naive teenager. She had drunk, smoked and fallen over and probably eaten soft cheese and pate! And her daughter was born perfectly healthy and Is now a bright and cheeky 6 year old. Grin

I am 16 + 2 weeks with my first and desperate for a kick but think it's all been wind so far Blush

Xavielli · 01/09/2011 08:20

Shoe panic over, XP has borrowed the money from his mother (she must be so proud of her 41 year old son......) Sorry for the rant, I can't seem to let things go very easily at the moment, bloody hormones. Going to eat my body weight in tiffin now as I'm just left feeling really sad that I have let my kids down by choosing this man as their father.

phlossie · 01/09/2011 09:31

You weren't to know, Xavielli. Lots of people end up spending time with the wrong person. Glad Granny stepped up.

Mmmmmm, in my head I'm eating tiffin on a remote and tropical beach...

littlemonkeybix · 01/09/2011 11:00

With this being my 1st, I am more than prepared for things not to show until later.... but how come I already feel like a whale, and am in maternity kecks!! Not fair!! I want a kick too please, to compensate for feeling quite the heifer! Grin

And my palpitations are too high for it to be bump movement, so definitely a downer Sad

Hope you are all having a good day, I'm actually feeling quite perky today (until 2pm snoozy time - damn being in work!!)

littlemonkeybix · 01/09/2011 11:12

Xavielli dont beat yourself up about him being a plonker (being polite)

little boys don't seem to get the responsibility thing, and obviously he falls into that category. Seems to me you have a fine man now, and that's all that matters. Smile

Kayano · 01/09/2011 12:19

I ne'er get the right thread!
