Dont see mw again til the end of the month, i really hope im feeling better then then i am now or shes going to be getting a moan and a half from me :(

melliebobs · 07/08/2011 15:53

Oo oo oo I've not had a cup of tea for 7 weeks but I'm currently supping something that might be the next best thing. Twinnings camomile, honey n vanilla tea. Don't know why but I had a sample pack. Might be off out to get more! Mmmmm

12+0 according to scan. 12+2 with my dates

EsmeWeatherwax · 07/08/2011 18:11

I've been progressively less good with each pregnancy so far, although have always avoided pate and the bad cheeses. Which is torture, because I love pate! Don't drink much, have had a few each time, one or two over the nine months! This time I've had a ton of seafood, was on holiday in Barra, it's compulsory...and one blue steak. And loads of runny eggs! Other than that, the only things I want to eat are greasy crap...only thing that looks tempting! Chips and curry sauce anyone?

Ahh so this is where you are all hiding now!

I think the sickness is finally starting to go. Still throwing up but it seems to be when I have eaten a big (well, normal-sized) meal so I'm getting better at avoiding it.

My hair does seem to be getting thicker too.

Have not quite got the friskyness back but DS is away for the next four days so I think DH has high hopes Wink

esme I'm with u on the greasy food. Friday night I said to dh 'I know it's dirty but I could murder special fried rice from the chinese' it was gooooorgeous! Had the worst chest pain ever after it. Not heartburn. Think it was just my coronary arteries slowly being clogged!

babycarmen · 07/08/2011 21:02

Ahh did you have to mention chinese food, if i had cash on me id be picking up the phone right now.... haha, could quite go some fried rice right now :(

searches in kitchen for something to suffice

Phew! What a load to read after just a week's holiday.

Glad there's been no more bad news, welcome to yet more people!

On scans, it's been 10 days since ours, and now i'm DESPERATE for the next one. I think this is the worst bit, between the 12 and 20 week scans, not much growth in belly, no feelings of movement, a wearing off of the sickness and tiredness (though i feel pretty exhausted now!). So i'm now itching for the 20 week scan. Anyone else?!

I have my next scan apt through already, i have been sent two, in the same envelope, 2 weeks apart! (21st sept and 5th oct) I do remember my consultant saying i'd need two (too tired to remember why), but i didn't think they'd be so close. Chatted to MW friend earlier who thinks it's bonkers. never mind.

On pushchairs, if anyone ever considers buying a mothercare my3/4, please ask my advice!

On baby size for tall people, can't remember who asked way back, but i think they date at 12 weeks because they're all roughly the same size then. I'm 6 foot and DD was 7lb9. My good friend who is about 5foot had a DD just before me who was 9lb something. She is now 30 weeks pg with dd2 and is MASSIVE! So, even though i was expecting a massive baby, i dn't think it works like that. My dd is now taller than her dd, although 3 months younger, but with shorter legs than her dd! So basically, it's all a bit random at birth. Having said that my 6ft friend with 6ft6 DH had 3 over 9lb with last one over 10lb.

I'm eating runny eggs with wild abandon, but not cheese with mould or pate. I guess we have to pick the things we feel will be safe and avoid what we feel is more dodgy. So hard to tell though, and, apart from liver, most of it is just avoiding food poisoning. Am also drinking LOTS of tea.

Off to raid the fridge now after all this talk of food!

Tonight I am mostly avoiding watching Britain's Biggest Babies. I can deal with One Born Every Minute (with tears ++), but that seemed like a bridge too far and would be likely to invoke even more sleepless nights.

CoffeeOne · 07/08/2011 21:23

hello all, so happy to read about your lovely scans! Mine is a week tomorrow and I can't wait! I also just want to tell people now.

Feeling a lot better recently (too soon?) just had a weekend away and didn't need one early night! Shattered now though but much less sick.

Marking my place.
Quick update:

husband slowly recovering at home.
scan on Thursday was great, was quite surprised a baby was actually there though. Baby fine, very active.
sickness but not tiredness subsiding.
school holidays in full swing, kids are bored!
12wks 3days

woowa · 07/08/2011 21:54

billcompton - I have a my3. My advice is, check out the luggage compartment and ease of getting into it.

I have now used the my3 on most days for 18 months, i love that the carrycot turns into the seat (cheaper), i love that it's permanently rearfacing (or the other way!), that it fits the maxicosi cabriofix carseat. The my3 has a stupid front wheel, but you won't have that problem. It's just the basket underneath is a)tiny and b)really hard to actually put anything in! I hang stuff off the handle. So no, it's not crap at all, but if you think you might want to actually carry stuff about, just compare it with other pushchairs. If that factor is at the bottom of the list, don't worry.

If i had my time again, i'd buy a teutonia spirit, but i didnt know they existed. I'm going to look out for one on ebay to replace the my3 for when DC2 is bigger and i don't need the double for DC1, and try to sell the my3, but i doubt they have a big resale value.

BillComptonstrousers · 07/08/2011 22:05

I did notice that the basket on the bottom was small woowa, actually that was one of the first things I noticed! But I just though the carrycot/seat was a great idea, and the ease of changing it to rear/forward facing. I haven't used a pushchair for years so was a bit overwhelmed by all the advances!

Glad to see your husband is recovering oddeyes

Well, the insomnia hasn't really abated, apart from during the day Hmm.

However, had my 7 year old nephew staying this weekend, which is exhausting anyway! Although very cute, he keeps asking if the baby will think he is funny, can he teach it football, and he has picked out a book he wants to read to the baby when it arrives!

Scan on Tuesday, can't wait!

phlossie · 08/08/2011 08:50

My sickness has mostly abated, though my dd is doing really bad farts this morning, not good!

Did anyone watch Britains Biggest Babies? I watched it while eating a Chinese! Egg fried rice all the way. I've just had a bowl of porridge for breakfast, and I might have to have another. I'm really starving!

I love children's ideas about babies, Rollersara - my ds wants a triple bunkbed so all three can share a room!

I'm avoiding too much caffiene, pate and stinky cheese, but had a runny yolked fried egg sandwich the other day - and I've been on a trampoline!

babycarmen · 08/08/2011 09:26

Talking of pushchairs, the one we have ordered sounds a lot like the m3 actually, the carrycot turns into a seat, forward or rear facing, can fit maxi cosi car seat onto it, and downside is the shopping basket underneath is pretty tiny!! The pram we ordered is the Petite Star Kurvi Match+ In pearl white/black (got it from littlewoods) it arrived the other day and we took it out and im very impressed at all the extras you get with it! You get a padded seat liner which is lovely and soft and a cosy toes, raincover, head hugger, change bag, apron. I really like it and ive read good reviews

www.littlewoods.com/petite-star-kurvi-match-in-ivory/870189866.prd?browseToken=%2fq%2fpetite+star

I watched britains biggest babies and it freaked me out.. pretty sure i wont have to worry about that though, me and DP are both skinny runts and DD was only 6lb2oz...and that was bad enough pushing that out!! I have to get monitored from 32 weeks to make sure baby is growing ok.

My head is thumping, im really dizzy, i have a ton or ironing to do, its pouring rain outside and i need to entertain DD. Siiiiiiggghh.

14+0!

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster (on this thread). I have had a couple of early MCs in last 12 months, so have been uber-cautious about going public this time.

PG with DC2. I'm 14 weeks-ish, had scan this time last week, which was lovely and a relief after a few weeks of very non-descript symptoms, apart from a very short fuse and repeated attacks of extreme laziness. Nice to be feeling more sociable and perky again.

I completely refuse to give up salami and other cured meat deliciousness, still drinking tea, but otherwise toeing the line, like a good girl.

mrsrvc · 08/08/2011 14:38

Hi All
Feeling a bit peeved. So much for a jolly second tri! I have started actually projectile vommitting over the last few days ( rather than just the horrid nausea of the first tri, and suddenly cannot sleep at all!!
This is not fair. I might go on pregnancy strike until I feel better.

melliebobs · 08/08/2011 15:09

hi guys as work got told last week i walked into the office to go through the maternity policy and risk assessments. My mind is blooming spinning. Whoever wrote our maternity policy must have a degree in bloomin gibberish! I'm still trying to get my head around it!

babycarmen · 08/08/2011 16:52

Been to GP. Been given different sickness medicine as was sick again today. All ive managed to keep down is a slice of toast. Been crying all day and my head is thumping. Not happy today at all :(

Rollersara · 08/08/2011 17:13

melliebobs, similar here, ours is 30 pages long!

herecomesthsun · 08/08/2011 19:06

Hello, am back from 12 week scan. They have put me forward to 12+2. Also the nuchal translucency test was good and should take my risk down by a factor of 5 (good for an older mum).

Feeling tired but rather pleased for the moment, just waiting for my blood tests to come back...

hermionejgranger · 08/08/2011 19:52

babycarmen i'm so sorry you are still feeling so rotten...

oddeyes good news about DH...

herecomesthesun - you have just reminded me - I'm due my scan tomorrow (squeeee) and I'm having the combined test - so nuchal translucency and bloods - and have looked in my preg notes and I'm supposed to have a GP appointment at 12 weeks (which was yesterday, although I'm sure a few days won't make that much of a difference) - is that to take the bloods? Will ring MW tomorrow morning but now I've noticed it, it will be playing on my mind - so if you or anyone else knows the answer I'd be really grateful!

Purpletoes · 08/08/2011 20:09

wondered where everyone went! Glad we are getting loads of good scanning news.

MY nails are stronger but not much else happening
