Well, are we?

Has the sickness abated?
Are our locks shiny and luscious?
Are our nails long and strong?
Are we back on form in the 'ahem' bedroom?

No? Well we soon will be ladies it's The second Trimester*

That's a tough film to watch when pregs, woowa! I didn't like it at all when not pregs. But I found the book a bit annoying too, compelling, but annoying! A bit too all-American. I don't like taking meds either.

Another rainy school holiday day. We spent yesterday in - I needed it! But I'm going to have to exercise my dcs today. Maybe we'll brave the showers and go to the park and I'll let them off their leads... Smile Honestly, it's like having puppies. You can feel the tension building to the point that you just need to go for walkies to sort it out!

littlemonkeybix · 17/08/2011 10:36

Please can someone tell me how I am supposed to concentrate at work this morning.... SCAN IN 4 HOURS!! EEEEK Grin

DP mocked me last night at a gathering of my parents and brother (bro's birthday) for being all emotional all the time... I did retort that he was joining me with over emotional outbursts, and that was why I was reacting so badly... I didn't have to mention his baby pounds he appears to be piling on with me!! Ha - I claim that as my win! Wink

Is anyone elses bloke joining them in a sympathy PG??! heehee

phlossie · 17/08/2011 10:46

They (as in They) say that if your bloke piles on the pounds too you're having a girl... My DH put on weight with my dd and not with ds, so I wonder if that's true.

While I'm on the subject - anyone think that the whole pregnancy cravings thing has any bearing on baby's sex? This one's got me baffled - it's a real mixture of my boy pregnancy and girl pregnancy.

Good luck with your scan littlemonkeybix!

littlemonkeybix · 17/08/2011 10:52

Phlossie I'm still disappointingly craving free Sad

I was totally looking forward to weird and wonderful things... I'm quite food moody with my hormones anyway, so this was like an odd challenge!!

All I have with relation to food is that beef is sometimes too beefy!! or other meats a bit meaty! And my appetite has reduced a little.

Disappointed.com!

PamBeesly · 17/08/2011 11:16

littlemonkeybix I have my scan at 2pm too, good luck with yours, last night was like xmas eve in my house :)

littlemonkeybix · 17/08/2011 11:18

Awww good luck for you too Pam

I am toooo excited! 1st PG for me... so I am totally like a kid today... but my "dentist appointment" excuse wont work if I keep grinning like this!

PamBeesly · 17/08/2011 11:27

God don't you just love the dentist Grin my first pg too, I can't wait

littlemonkeybix · 17/08/2011 12:14

OK... officially about to BURST with excitement.... Logging off now ladies, going home to prepare for scan!! glug glug

Good Luck Pam

And hope you are all having a good day everyone else... wishing you all no sickness, no tiredness, and plenty of feeling lovely

mistressploppy · 17/08/2011 12:16

QueenFee · 17/08/2011 15:12

Xavielli · 17/08/2011 15:47

GRRRRRRRRR Angry I'm sooo angry and upset!! Angry

DP went to see his Daughters on Monday (its one of their birthdays today) He doesn't get to see them very often as he doesn't have a good relationship with their mother. DS2 is their half brother, nearly 10 months old and they have never met him. His eldest is 12. His 2nd is 5 and a half. The younger of the two doesn't even know about DS2 as she wouldn't 'get it' apparently. When I asked DP what his eldest said when he told her we would be having another baby he said he couldn't tell his DD1 as his DD2 was there. Just makes me feel like he is ashamed of us. His eldest keeps telling her Mum that she never wants to meet DS2 then telling DP she does want to see him. Then she tells her friends that she really wants to see DS but not DP. I'm finding all of this really hard to handle at the moment. I know it's none of my business and kids will be kids etc but I just keep thinking we will always be second best. Sad

Sorry for the rant, just can't really say anything to DP as it hurts him enough that his kids don't want to see him without me adding to the problem. Sad

On the upside I'm as randy as as teenage nympho. Grin

babycarmen · 17/08/2011 17:29

phlossie im craving salty/sour foods which is interesting, when i was pregnant with DD it was all cake and chocolate, i cant even look at chocolate right now! Will just have to wait and see :)

monkey enjoy the scan! youve probably had it by now.. :)

Well DD is back at nursery now which she loves and gives me a break for a few hours and im getting loads of walking done which cant be bad! And shes given me her cold so im feeling very blahhh and ughhh and yuk, my sinuses hurt! :( sniff..

15+2

PamBeesly · 17/08/2011 17:40

Yeah everything was great with the scan, lovely to see him wriggling and the heart beating, my dates were bang on so I'm still 12+5 :)

Crazybit · 17/08/2011 21:03

Xav-Seems pretty strange to me that a 5 yo wouldn't 'get it'. Not suprised you're annoyed. It sounds as though the 12 yo is torn between what her mum is saying she wants and what she really wants. Doesn't sound as though there is much that you can do though.

Pam-Great news :)

Monkey-Hope all went well with the scan :)

Phlossie-I would have lazy days every day if I could. Was very energetic this morning and even took my two swimming but it still didn't satisfy them!

Woowa-Don't think I've seen that yet, keep meaning to. Got my asprin tomorrow. I'm not a medication taker really but will see how I go with them.

Re cravings, none so far, didn't get them with my other two either, not fair.
Been elderberry picking today, combed them all off, put them in water for all the crap to float to the top...and that's it, cba to do anything else now! May pop them in freezer till I can be bovrilled to do something with them.

Crazybit · 17/08/2011 21:13

Again forgot! 13+3

Oh and no friskiness here although OH been away since last Tue and the week before that his DM stayed for a whole week, so there was no hanky panky that week either!

louby86 · 17/08/2011 22:27

Oh Xavielli hope you're ok, managed to de-stress and have pounced on DP Grin not really sure what else to say really except that you did the best thing ranting on here rather than in RL

Today is the first day in nearly 9 weeks where I've not started the morning with my head over the toilet! Fingers crossed it's not going to come back worse tomorrow and I'm finally beginning to see the end of nasty first trimester symptoms!

Starting work on a new project tomorrow as been taken out of my area after putting in a formal complaint about my boss for bullying and harassment so feeling a little nervous! Hopefully it will all be investigated soon, he will be moved and I can go back to my old job!

Picked up my mum to be bounty pack while I was in boots today too! Feels like I'm progressing now I'm on pack 2 of 5 Smile

woowa · 17/08/2011 22:38

hmmm. jjust lost my message. Well, going to sleep now, wasn't very interesting!

Xavielli · 18/08/2011 08:11

Crazybit - I know what you mean about 5 year old... my DD is 2 days older than his DD2 and she seems to have a pretty firm grip of the situation and knows who DP's DDs are without having met them! Hmm

Louby - Thanks for answering. I know there is nothing I can do about it, just needed a place to vent really. If only families were simple!!

Glad to hear all the good scan news. 28th Sept seems so far away, just want to see baby again, especially with some of you ladies feeling movement already, getting a little worried that I'm not but I've always felt things a little later than most.

DS2 has just had some cream cheese and crackers in his high chair, DD has just come in and cleaned him up! Grin Haha, bless them. They are so used to me being useless in the morning that they fend for themselves. Poor urchins.

Crazybit · 18/08/2011 10:34

Louby-Hope you continue to feel better.

Xav-Aw bless dd, a bit of independence/helping to tidy will be good practice for whern you're needing ds entertaing whilst sorting dc3.

Well, it's raining here again so dds are watching a DVD. Shall we do proper introductions to get more of a 'taste' of what each individual person is like? There has probably already been something like this that I missed in my daze of ms in the earlier days, so sorry if that is the case!

I'm 29, with DD1 aged 11 and dd2 aged 3. I've moved from East Yorkshire to the Bristol area due to OH accepting a job down here. I moved me and the girls whilst OH was in India with work with the intention of finishing my AAT accounting qualification, as well as finding a job. The day after we moved I realised af had been a no show, and had a positive pg test, suprised as whilst not activley preventing we had been avoiding fertile times. Had to wait for OH to get back before I told anyone.

Was a single mum until we moved although have been with OH for 3 years, we where both doing college and never actually got round to moving in together so everything has been a bit of a shock to the system for us both.

With me feeling so crap at first I have not got out and met anyone round here to be friendly with except for my neighbour, so feeling rather lonely. Think once school starts again, and dd2 goes to nursery I will have to do some classes to try and make some more friends.

Anyway, how is everyone doing today?

littlemonkeybix · 18/08/2011 10:38

Morning all,

Glad to hear of some sickness stopping - I dont know what I'd have done with being sick all the time. I was one of the luck ones!

Scan went really well... pip was having a wriggle...and is clearly camera shy as kept turning away when he was trying to do the neck measurements Smile

Anyway, got some lovely pics, saw a really clear image of his/her face (not on pics though), got good readings etc... made up - YAY

The marvel continues though ladies.... they moved my date... by 1 week!! So "officially" I am now March 5th, but hopefully you'll let me stay, as I am still plumbing for a leap day baby Wink

Reality has sunk in a little more now... and work have been told too!!

11+5 (12+5 in my world)

littlemonkeybix · 18/08/2011 10:44

Crazy
I'm 31, PG with my 1st (eek) living in Merseyside. Moved in with DP almost 1 year ago in our 1st house - both were with parents until then due to money.

Living in the middle of a building site currently as house needed full renovation, and currently only have kitchen lounge and bathroom done! Next job, bedroom for us and nursery! We're in the spare room on a matress!

Bring on the fun! Grin

lilyrose123 · 18/08/2011 11:39

i do not have a crystal ball :(

littlemonkeybix · 18/08/2011 14:52

poor Lily Sad

You're not having a good time at all currently are you!!

Sending you a massive hug (with a box of tissues attached)

I hope it all starts to fall together for you soon ... you do not need extra help with the turmoil of emotions right now!

louby86 · 18/08/2011 18:29

Oh Lily hope things start to pick up for you soon and sorry to hear about your friend's husband Sad

I was telling DH how it was the first day I'd not been bad, obviously didn't cross enough fingers as sickness was worst it's been in ages this morning.

Was looking through my diary today and it's only 2 weeks until my next MW appointment! Seems to be going really quick already! I've started Christmas shopping now too, don't want to be waddling through a shopping centre mid December!
