Crazybit - what a good idea, it's nice to put a back story to a username! I'm not so exciting, I'm 28, been with my DP for 3 years and we live together in Lancashire. This is our first child and very much a wanted baby although has still managed to take us by surprise! First grandchild on both sides too so lots of excitement round here!

lilyrose123 - so sorry to hear about your friend's husband, how awful :( sorry to hear you're fed up and hope things pick up soon.

Happy to hear of more good scans!

Feeling much less sick but still soooo tired all the time!

crazybit forgot to do my introduction earlier, sorry.....

I'm 25 (must change age now on stats page!), been with DH 6 years and it's our first wedding anniversary on Sunday! Our first baby after trying for about 6 months and the first grandchild on my side of the family! Live in the midlands, back living in the village we grew up in after moving to the city with work a couple of years ago. Not sure what else to say really, have a shopping addiction and before I got pregnant I loved the er not so occasional cocktail! Love lovely holidays and my dates suggest we are having a vegas baby haha! Grin

m1nn1em0u5e · 18/08/2011 20:04

Hi all, will catch up on the last few days when I have got a few spare minutes! Hope all is well.

Well, we had our gender scan yesterday & we are having our 3rd little boy!..Maxed out my debit card today buying things for our latest arrival!..He is moving lots now & the Consultant at the hospital said he was the most awkward baby he had ever scanned as it took him 30 minutes to coax him into the right position to see the sex!..

Crazybit · 18/08/2011 20:13

Oooh lovely to get to 'know' you all a little better.

M1nn1e-Ooooh fab. You know you'll get all the 'are you going to try again after this one for a girl' brigade now don't you?! Wink Everyone assumes I want a boy this time with two girls already, but I really don't mind. OH would love to even the numbers up though. How much was the gender scan then if you don't mind me asking? (Nosy)

Lillyrose-So sorry you're having such a crappy time :( Your poor poor friend :(:( I hope your sickness goes very soon. Can the course not be reinstated for the original dates? Why has it changed? So disapointing for you. Have a x

I'm sure I keep feeling the baby, like a little tinkling feeling in my lower left tummy, keep trying ot identify exactly where it's coming from but it's not playing the game :)

m1nn1em0u5e · 18/08/2011 20:20

Hi Crazybit, its our local NHS hospital, they do them for £40 in 2d, we got a dvd too, half of the reason was so that our sons could be there as they have missed the 12 week scan due to being at school/nursery.

Yes I know exactly what you mean & frankly its driving me crazy! I text a few friends to tell them we were having a boy & some one replied 'Oh no, are you ok?'...another person said sorry it isnt a girl'....The majority of people have been genuinely happy for us though!..It drives me mad that other people assume that they know what we want!..

babycarmen · 18/08/2011 20:22

Im dying from the cold, im all blocked up and sore behind my eyes and bleuuuuuurgh. Just hope DP doesnt get it, i hate man flu ;)

Im so tired and feel so rubbish i cant even think what i came on here to say! nothing important anyway..

lilyrose sorry youre feeling rubbish and so sorry about your friend, how awful... :(

louby86 · 18/08/2011 20:57

babycarmen hope you're feeling better soon

m1nn1e I can't believe someone asked you if you were ok with having a boy! How rude Angry congratulations! I think you're the first to tell us what you're expecting.....unless I'm useless at keeping track of this thread!

woowa · 18/08/2011 21:18

on boys, my (usually lovely) IVF nurse said, on finding out that one of the embryos had died before 7 weeks "it's just as well isn't it?" (er, no), she followed that with "let's hope it's not a boy, they're awful". i amused and shocked really that someone talking to someone who REALLY wanted children, would be positive about one dying, and negative about boys. People are SO wierd about boys!

My history: I'm 32 with an 18 month DD, also conceived through IVF as husband has spinal injury when he was 16, playing rugby, and spinal injuries affect everything, even sperm, amazingly. Both cycles worked first time. DH is a church pastor, coming to the end of his training job, and we need to find a job and move by May, we have no idea where we'll end up, but that's fine (as long as it's not near inlaws :) )

Been feeling pretty normal today, now I remember what it feels like to bloom!

Oh, blast, it's raining on the nappies. Oh well, since i'm in bed, they'll have to get wet.

PamBeesly · 18/08/2011 22:07

m1nn1e congratulations on your little boy :)

I'm 27, live in Ireland, this is my first pregnancy. I've been married 10 months and we really wanted this little baby. Its the first grandchild on my side and the 3rd on my husbands. Since I told my mother she has gone crazy buying things.

phlossie · 19/08/2011 09:01

m1nn1e - congratulations on your new boy! People are weird - I love my boy, he's gorgeous! When I had a girl people kept saying how clever I was to have one of each, and how I wouldn't need to have any more!! Hmm

I'm 31 (32 next month), have been married to DH for 8 years and together for 14 years! I'm a Water Babies teacher and freelance writer, living in Bristol. Had our DS in Feb 2006, DD in October 2007 and just really wanted one more - it was a now or never moment, and we got pregnant instantly with DC3!

Oooh lot's of first babies on this thread, feel positvely 'old maid-ish' Grin

Thanks M1nn1e, told OH you paid £40 to find out you where having a boy, he said, 'so if we pay £40, we get a boy?!' Hmm Duh!
Doesn't suprise me that people have been like that, it does seem to be seen that having at least one of each is better than all the same, don't know why though!
DD1 keeps going on about how 2 people she knows are 'really lucky' as the had boy girl boy girl. Hmm

Phlossie-My dd is an Oct 07 baby too, how come you never joined the due Oct thread? Or did you and I've missed you?! I've just moved to the North Bristol area.

How is everyone this morning? I'm stupidly excited that my dad and partner are coming to see us. We've only had one person visit since moving and that was the mil. Hmm Hope you all have a lovely day :)

babycarmen · 19/08/2011 11:05

Awh my DD was October 07 too :D the 31st..a halloween baby.

Everytime i eat, when the food hits my stomach it hurts so damn much. Has anyone ever had that? :S Ive no idea why its happening. Its really painful and feels like im going to be sick but im not.

louby86 · 19/08/2011 11:20

babycarmen I've not had that if only eating bits of food but (tmi warning) I was really hungry on Saturday and must have ate too quickly as I had a really painful stomach followed by the runs for the rest of the night! And I thought pregnancy was just about constipation!

Having a bit of a shit day today, investigation proceedings have started against by boss, been told to stay off sick by the union until it's sorted, sounds like it could get quite messy though!

May spend the rest of the morning researching gender scans!

littlemonkeybix · 19/08/2011 11:48

Morning folks,

Hope we are all well!!

I am having a new symptom today... however not sure whether it is PG related!!

Anyone else had a bout of the dizzies?! I woke up early this morning with a cracking headache, and feeling a little sick (if anyone doesnt remember, I haven't had morning sickness - is this revenge??!!) This has progressed into a mild headache, with no sickness, but proper whirlies! Just come out of a meetng in work and wobbled back to my desk... I feel like I've been spinning in the playground for about half an hour! Confused

Potential early dart for me today!

littlemonkeybix · 19/08/2011 13:35

OK - so today has taken a worng turn... I have just totally freaked out in the office!! Blush

I tried to eat one crisp... and my tooth's just cracked, from the flat to beyond the gumline! Sad

I have a bit of a thing about dentists, so immediately burst into tears, and freaked out big style! Such a DIVVY!

Fortunately, a colleague used to be a dental nurse, so has calmed me a little.... and my poor boss had to deal with the aftermath! Crying hormonal women aren't his strong point I feel Smile

Anyway, dentist can get me in at 9am wednesday Angry but i can try daily for an emergency, but all todays are gone.

Monkey is UNHAPPY!

louby86 · 19/08/2011 16:38

Oh no monkey hope the dizziness has gone now too, that's all you need! If you're still getting dizzy maybe get your blood pressure checked? Not sure really, I've not had many dizzy spells up to now. It's days like the one you've had today where you need wine! Alcohol free maybe? On the bright side you'll get your tooth fixed for free won't you now we have maternity cards???

littlemonkeybix · 19/08/2011 17:00

Thanks Louby

Yes it'll be free (yay!!) but I seriously hate dentists! Still, once it's fixed, I get over it quickly... it's just being there - eeek!

As for the dizzies and headache, they seemed to dissipate with the tooth break... maybe I had ghosts and demons in there??!! So at least there was s silver lining!!

Tonight's tea may consist of smooth and soft foods... I'm thinking some kind of lasagne.... Grin

mummymccar · 19/08/2011 17:41

littlemonkeybix I agree with Louby, you should get your BP checked out. I fainted after a few dizzy spells last week and GP said my BP was a bit low. Corrected itself eventually, but it wasn't nice at the time!

I like the background to the names.
I'm 24, first baby. Been with partner for 3 years and live in Cardiff where I work as a freelance (mainly fashion) writer. Just told family and friends today - very excited for us. This will be first grandchild on my side, and 2nd on DP's (though 1st is still cooking until Nov).

I didnt do the background thingy so il do it now,
23 Blush, Been with DP 5 years, engaged for 2, live in North East Scotland, WAS studying towards a psychology degree - taking this year out and being a stay at home mummy for a year seen as im kinda pregnant and stuff.. ;) Tried for this baby for 3 months (were expecting it to take longer - DD was a bit of a surprise as i was getting contraceptive injections Shock ) Errrm what else? I get nervous writing this stuff!! Blush i feel so naked! :o

QueenFee · 19/08/2011 19:36

Babycarmen - my mums from ne scotland :)

I'm 30 sigh dh and I have been together for 11 years and married for 9 I have dd 7 ds 5 ds2 2 all born july/august so this is my first winter baby! I live in north wales (not far from Chester)

We have lots of people imply we must want a girl (er not necessarily no. My daughter is more work than my boys! I really don't mind) It annoys me. And then the people who ask if im pleased Shock er yes I have been ttc for 18 months but didn't concieve due to breastfeeding! I could continue... we won't be finding out the sex all my babies have been 'yellow' bumps! Cue more comments on why we should Hmm
Personal choice I believe!
Woowa our church pastor has just left...

I get sore stomachs all the time. I have got such sinuses now I can bearly eat so gp has referred me to ent at the hosp.

PDog · 19/08/2011 19:38

lily hope you are feeling better soon.
monkey with you on the dentist, hope it gets fixed soon.
louby sounds like a tough situation. Try not to let it stress you out too much.

A bit about me...

I'm 32, live in the north east. This is second baby; i have a 20mo dd. Been married to dh for 8 years but together for ages. Will be 11th gc on my side Shock (inc step gc though) but only the 2nd on dh's side so they are much more excited.

Oh and i still feel like this Envy most days.

woowa · 19/08/2011 19:56

pdog, i'm in the northeast too! queenfee, wales is completely off our radar - i've just never thought about it. TBH I'd love to live closer to my parents in sussex, closer than the northeast, that is, i'd happily settle for south yorkshire!

Someone asked me today whether we'd chosen names, which is fine, and when I said we couldn't agree and were going to put off talking about it til december, she asked what the names at the top of my list were. I said it was secret and she seemed really put out. What do other people think? Is it normal to tell people the names you're thinking of? Am i weird? Maybe it's another one of those "knowing the sex/not knowing" things, that just divides people! Names for me are top secret, i wouldn't even tell people the boys name we didn't need last time. not sure why!

Xavielli · 19/08/2011 20:15

Congrats minnie! Boys are splendid, everyone seems to think I must want a girl this time to even up the numbers. I really don't care, infact from a financial point of view a boy would be easier as I've still got all ds2s clothes. Although I've got no idea what we'd call another boy!

My story;
26, I have DS1 (6) DD (5) with my ex. DP and I have been together for 4 years, he has 2 DDs (12 and 5) and we have DS2 (nearly 10 months) together. So this one is number 2, or 4, or 6..... Ha! We are currently living in a very small 2 bed house in Oxfordshire so are really hoping to find somewhere before this one arrives. I guess mine looks like the most complicated story so far and I can't say I don't wish things could have worked out differently, but I love all the little people in my life and wouldn't change any of them for the world.

PDog · 19/08/2011 20:58

I'm the same with names woowa. I don't really care or want to hear that other people don't like it. We always knew what we would call dd but couldn't really agree on a boys name. This time we have a boys name so will end up having a girl no doubt! Didn't tell anyone though and won't be this time yet. It was very rude of her to keep pushing you.

I've had lots of people assuming I want a boy. I really don't care, although another girl would be cheaper. Particularly since I accidently bought a pink push chair Blush. In my defence it looked red on the picture and I was a sleep-deprived new mum at the time.

louby86 · 19/08/2011 21:05

I agree with you woowa we've decided to not tell anyone names. Some people are just so nosy, given the opportunity I'm sure some would form an orderly line next to DP in the delivery suite Grin There's got to be some surprises for people!
