Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

OP posts:

I've just spoken to Bonkerz, and she had her little girl at 2.10 today by planned Caesarean. Both she and the baby (who weighed in at 7lb 4oz) are doing really well and she says that the baby is gorgeous and has already had a little feed.

I'm sure she'll be here when she feels up to it to fill you all in with the gory details!

dramaqueen72 · 19/12/2005 16:26

afternoon everyone!!
CONGRATULATIONS BONKERZ!!! glad all is well with you and alex!! iv been thinkin of you all day!!
doesnt look like numerology is a particularly accurate prediction method for birth!! my uncle predicted today as my delivery date and the hours are ticking by with no sign that the baby will come today!! ahh well i wasnt holdin my breath anyway so there we are!! anyone else popped yet?? scully how about you?? your due now aint u??
george im totally with you on the whole not sleeping thing so i can totally sypathise wit your pain!! i was up at 1am, 345am, 5am and 630 this morn for a wee so im considerin movin my bed into the bathroom now so i dont have to walk as far durin the night!! i doubt it would fit so i might jus prop myself up on the loo so i dont have to move at all!! hahaha
ah well how is everyone doin tody?? v.v quiet tody is everyone off givin birth?? wouldnt that be weird if everyone was...

Jaysfirst · 19/12/2005 17:12

YAY BONKERZ!!!!! great news, i too have been thinking of you, glad to here that all went ok, nice to know thata you and Alex are fine, cant wait for pics!

All a bit strange here, have had really wierd feelings in my 'nether 'regions' with period type cramps, no show and nothing else to suggest anything, just a different feeling to what i have been having, i guess shes just moving herself about!

its so funny isnt it, everyone is just kinda 'popping' on to see whats happening with everyone else, not been much conversation so to speak for a cpl of days now...i think we are all just 'ladies in waiting' at the moment, i think its going to all happen at once, have we had two or more babies born on the same day yet???

Jaysfirst · 19/12/2005 17:13

ahhhhhh DQ did i thank you for your christmas card, i cant remember, if i didnt thankyou very much, if i did, well excuse my spongebobsquarepants brain!!!!

scully · 19/12/2005 18:00

Updated list, with my name still not on it!!

11 Nov George (Flutter)
02 Dec Jack (Mouseman)
05 Dec Nicholas(Sid)
08 Dec Lucas (Sweetheart)
10 Dec Roisin (Expat)
15 Dec Jack (Ebbie)
16 Dec Hannah (Nemo)
19 Dec Alex (Bonkerz)

Yes ei, I was due on Sat - nothing out of the ordinary happening today, so baby still quite comfy in there.
Took dd to nursery this afternoon as Father Xmas was visiting, & picked up an Ebay parcel from the post office - 2 v cute pram blankets and a newborn Xmas outfit - at this rate the baby will be wearing it on Xmas day in hospital
Very interesting discussion on sweeps in the Childbirth section - Mears' opinion on them is food for thought. Wondering if one will be suggested to me on Wednesday, when I see my consultant.

THOMCATsForLifeNotJustForXmas · 19/12/2005 19:41

19 Dec name tbc, but kitten for now! (Thomcat)

Had bubaloo at 3.40 this morning, at home.

Very happy family all round

Flying visit from me as I have my sister visiting but wanted to find out the news from Bonkerz.

So glad everything went OK and all well with both Bonkerz & Alex Wishing you so much happiness.

And you too TC!!! Another quick birth, my, you ladies don't hang about once you get going. Congratulations on the birth of Kitten. Sounds like a bit of a dream birth and amazed that you are posting already.

Braxton Hicks kicking in here but I think that is because we had curry for tea!!
Be back tomorrow to catch up properly. xx

babygibbon · 20/12/2005 09:30

Huge congratulations to Bonkerz and Thomcat! Enjoy your new babies and we look forward to joining you soon...

babygibbon · 20/12/2005 09:32

Oh, forgot to say, saw midwife yesterday, all well no news - not engaged, no imminent signs, have booked home visit for sweep on 31st December which is depressing firstly because I really really don't want to go that far over and secondly because guess what I'll probably end up doing on NYE...

yellowbear · 20/12/2005 10:02

Congrats to everyone who has given birth , all the names are lovely (I am still looking for inspiration). I can't believe the speed some of you moms are back on line after the birth.

Nothing much happening here just strange feelings down below - but has baby is breech I don't know what I am expected to feel or if it can/will engage! seeing m/w thurs so may know more then!

DQ we may end up giving birth on xmas day at this rate !

ebbie22 · 20/12/2005 10:11

Firstly....sorry havent sent any christmas cards, but i did want to because to me you guys are all the friends i need....
Huge congratulations to thomcat and bonk, they sound adorable.....
We are all getting on wonderfully at the moment, but dd has a real chesty cough and i have the sore throat from hell....but nothing is going to break this bubble...lol

Whoever said ur children get every cough and cold if u smoke thru pregnancy didnt also mention that even if u didnt smoke[i gave up as soon as i found out was preg with dd]they would still get every cold going.....love 2 all

dramaqueen72 · 20/12/2005 10:31

morning ladies 20th dec eh? I quite like that! want the babys b-day to start with 20 something!! (please note baby; NOT 30 something!!!)
ninah, hope youre still checking in on us from your home internet...missing you.
george, hope your sister is pampering you
babygibbon, hope your midwife enlightens you at your appointment, some babies STILL turn right at the start of labour. and often babies dont engage at all til labour, so dont be disheartened. I have the 'how over we will let you go' conversation tomorrow at my midwife. it used to depress me, BUT i've never kept the overdue appointment so far so being optimistic about this time too.
yellowbear, hmmmmmmm, getting abit close to christmas day eh? maybe we'll be busy tomorrow/thurs/friday instead......and anyhow, Tv and relations are SO bad on christmas day will be welcome relief to kick them all out and have a baby!!!!
ebbie, never mind about being behind on cards, you say teh nicest things on here anywayglad all is well in your little world

ebbie22 · 20/12/2005 10:41

Does anyone know anyone who has a 9lbs plus baby who would like a santa suit?i will even pay p.p as didnt want to c it go to waste, unless i have another dec boy baby next yearlol,as Jack is tiny to fit in it,could be up to 3 months......

dramaqueen72 · 20/12/2005 10:50

I'm working on it ebbie................

Jaysfirst · 20/12/2005 10:56

hiya all. fleeting visit to see how everyone is, off to osteopath...again, not even sure that hes doing anything worthwhile, but i do ask myself if i wasnt going would i be any worse!!??

no more babies yet then, i tell you, they will all come at once i betcha!!

If anyone is intrested and is out and about today, buy WOMAN magazine....hehehehehe p88 its about how DH and i met maried and are pregnant, all oin a year!!! its a wee bit cheesy but quite sweet, worth a look if your into that kinda thing!!

Right will check in later hugs to all xxxxx

Nemoinapeartree · 20/12/2005 11:18

morning ladies
am willing you all on to labour..lol

DQ and EI thanks very much for the cards. Like ebbie am another unorganised person who doesnt done the cards

hope everyone is ok and bearing up.

scully · 20/12/2005 11:28

Must try and have a look for that magazine Jay! I am surprisingly calm DQ, not much I can do really Every time I turn up at nursery with dd, they are surprised!
Have acupuncture appt at 12 today so here's hoping that gets things going.... baby is just very comfy in there I guess....
Congrats Bonkerz and TC!! The list is growing....so do you get turkey for Xmas dinner in hospital?

dramaqueen72 · 20/12/2005 12:17

scully well maybe 'calm' is a good labour due sign!! I'm feeling calm too,...sort of a weird 'whatever' feeling has come over me. who knows, getting tired of second guessing this baby!!! heres hoping you and I go tonight eh?
i have always fancied the 21st......i remember that being my guess on our guessing game few months back, so who knows?!
I'm tired too, cat napping and snoozing alot more. house if pretty tidy tho and up to date on washing (miracle with this family) so feel fairly content and ready.
nemo nice to see you here. keep sending labour vibes.....hows it all going? how hannah settling in? hows sleeping/feeding etc going? and how are the boys (dh and adam) adjusting to a gorgeous girl? oh gosh youre so lucky, like ebbie I'm thnking of all these christmassy baby things I may not be able to use now.......oh nooooooo!!!

ebbie22 · 20/12/2005 14:17

go to www.only1smiler.co.uk have one photp of jack and others of my little girl in the pictures..

Jaysfirst · 20/12/2005 14:26

ok question time....

just back from M&S and what an awful drive...sat in the car park for about 15 mins tinking i am never going to get home...really bad stomach cramps and lower back ache, like period pains but worse...felt really faint and a bit sick also....managed to get home but in agony, not so much a contraction more of a constant wave of cramps, just been to loo, have had no show , that i know of, but my pants feel really damp ( sorry) have put a pad in to test the situation, not getting so many cramps now, but still feel sick and a bit faint. walking round helps but sitting is awful, movements down below from baby, kinda rolling ones not so much kicks...does this sound right??

Jaysfirst · 20/12/2005 14:56

ei, baby Jack is adorable, he looks so sweet with his hat on there! You must be so proud!
