Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

Am hoping to have a date set on Tuesday! Been in alot of pain today again. Am so fed up with it all. Have physio tomorrow and midwife on Friday. Nothing planned for tomorrow morning tho and DH is home all day so may just hibernate till time to go for the physio! Have been out tonight with 4 other mums from bens school. Good laugh and all of them very protective over me which was nice! Alex has been non stop wiggling since 10pm tho and im getting fed up with her pushing into my groin area and my ribs feel SOOOO sore. On a plus note, all my christmas shopping is bought and wrapped and all my cards are written and just need posting! ALex can come when ever cos im ready for her!

Not a happy bunny today. Had strong Braxton HIcks AGAIN last night from 2am till 5 am. Really hurt this time and made me physically sick! Dh was great though and obviously concerned cos he stayed up with me. Managed to nod off for an hour but then Alex started kicking at 7! Just taken DS to school and fell over on way back so yet again i feel like a silly school girl with a grazed knee and hand! Physio at 2.45 and may ask for some crutches cos im falling over so much! Really have had enough now!

Report
bonkerz · 01/12/2005 09:10

Aslo, have been wondering about this all night, my boobs were ultra leaky last night, proper colostrum, do you think my body has had enough too? All signs of body getting started? 2 nights this week already with painful BH AND yellow leakage plus bronwy discharge???

Report
expatinscotland · 01/12/2005 09:20

These damn BH's are getting annoying. REALLY not a good feeling when you're out in public.

My work colleague was trying to make me feel guilty about taking time off. Well she can go get stuffed! The big boss called me yesterday and told me if cowface has ANY problems, she needs to talk to the her (the boss).

So that's me finished up. I am out sick today after violently vomitting the entire day's contents of my stomach last night and a dodgy tummy this morning.

I have tomorrow out on holiday, and I'm just gonna write my boss on Monday morning and ask her to please authorise the beginning of my leave to HR.

This is too much - 38 weeks, calves swollen to twice their normal size, hemoglobin levels below 100, acid reflux, crap sleep and carpal tunnel in my hands.

Oh, and 2.5 year old w/bad cough.

Report
ninah · 01/12/2005 09:37

go for it expat. No point carrying on for the sake. I had day off about a week ago cos felt so dreadful and did consider bringing leave forward trouble is I have not organised ahead and still have stuff to do. None of which is life and death, to be fair.
Three days left next week and three the week after!

when you say popping....lol EI i feel like we are all kernals in a bag ready to pop into popcorn!! maybe salty popcorn will be boys and sweet girls...what do you think!!

I got some of raspberry tea yesterday have had to add some honey to it but its ok i guess. Whats the gen on how much to take? i am 36 wks tomorrow and thought that a mug a day till 37 then two mugs etc etc, anyone else help me out?

Off to the consultants in half an hour, see if this baby is lying the right way and to discuss induction due to SPD.... ooooer bit scarey.

I too could moan for England about all the ailments that pregnancy has given me, i was talking to my Mum ealrier and i have come to the conclusion its becasue i am an 'older' first time mum...i mean if i was ten years younger at 24, maybe i might be more agile and fitter, oh well who knows. Will keep you updated with Consultants news.

Big hellos to those names i havent seen before, sorry to those Nov ladies that have to join us, not because we dont want you you understand but just that you are overdue dont despair too much it wont be long! Looking at the due date list i might well be joining the Jan thread!!!

Expat i sympathise hon with everything you mentioned, i have now devleoped carpal tunnel in my hands , cant feel my fingers as i type...how strange is that!

Today is my due date (sorry, am a regular lurker, irregular poster)! Have been having lots of Braxton Hicks during the last few evenings, but feeling fine during the day. Not sleeping that well and thinking every evening, please not tonight, I'm too tired....Had my first 4 days late, the second a week late, the third a day early, so anything could happen. I hate the unpredictability - wish I could go to sleep and wake up with a baby(doesn't everyone). I'm ready now, though wondering whether should get some plastic sheeting - have got lots of towels and old sheets (for home birth, hopefully) - might give me something to keep me distracted....

Report
scully · 01/12/2005 11:39

Probably shouldn't tell you this but other than being tired (which is my own fault for going to bed after 12am), I feel ok. Currently sorting through 2yrs of paperwork that hasn't been filed , one of those 'put off until maternity leave' jobs....
Hope you're all feeling a bit better this afternoon

Thanks for reminding me about the raspberry leaf tea Jay, I must go & buy some & start slurping.

Bonkerz, did you see my note on the other thread about the burning pain? More Gaviscon for you!!!

Expat, hurray for you starting your mat leave. Definitely time to take it easy.

Nemo, sorry you are feeling crap too. Not long to wait now. I need your help on a Christmas name. Struggling with making George into something Christmassy. Please help me......
