Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

hiya

Am off to bed now to try and catch up on the sleep i lost last night, havent managed to sleep at all today so feel knackered

Hi to everyone hope you are all well, hopefully there will be osme news tomorrow about some babies....ALAS it wont be me!

night night all you gorgeous gals!!

dramaqueen72 · 15/12/2005 23:16

bigeyes, well I dont mean to go on, sorry if I have. but after three babies (nearly four) and six pregnancies you tend to have read alot and formed 'thoughts' on it all.....I love labour and babies (not pg so much tho....)
go get your sweep hun if thats what you want. just bear in mind they dont always work! heres hoping none of us need one! and that babies start arriving....oh...tonight?!!!
hope nemos had her baby and they are still just in that delightful haze of after birth and not texted anyone yet....
scully, um, I'm a fourth time mum to be and right with you on nerves! dont think you ever get laid back about birth!!
after a partial show today I've tried several things from the natural way to kick start labour list tonight.........fingers crossed then eh?
george,ninah, where are yooooooooooooooooooooou.
so who up with me for the 'graveyard shift' then??

bigbaubleeyes · 16/12/2005 04:08

DQ no you don't 'go on' at all its most welcome you wise women!

Have done my first sleep 10 til 1am and now been awake with a tight achey uncomfortable bump - never felt like this before - its constant so its not BH but just feels different - maybe he's moved maybe i've eaten too much porridge or them Raspberry Leaf Tea tablets who knows.

Fingers still crossed for NEMO

Nothing on TV at this time and my new book is v boring - and I've raided my hospital bag for my celebratory chocs, my snacks are steadily getting depleated already replaced them once - must do shop tomorrow.

morning all. well another broken nights sleep...bed by 11 awake by 2 back to sleep (ish) till 3.30, dozed off again till 5ish then got up, went to nursery sat in there for half an hr just taking it all in, forced myself to go back to bed, then had a sleep from about 6 till 7.30.....when i decided that enough was enough. Got up nearly fell down the stairs over the cat who had decided that sleeping hafway up them is now his fav place...god it shook me up ! bought down my pillow and sat watchign GMTV.... i really dont remember a night now where i have slept through and i guess i cant forsee one elther!
have to mention too, past two nights i have needed to the loo everytime i have woken...and i havent for a month or two..i think shes moved down a bit, certainly looks lower than she did at start of week..oooomaybe something is starting. Have MW at 10.30 ( i think) maybe she can tell me.

Hope you got some rest BBE, i know exactly how you must be feeling right now!

expatinscotland · 16/12/2005 08:33

Scully
You're going to be allright, darling! Wisihing you good birth vibes. DD1 was traumatic birth - 24 hour labour, forceps, epidural, etc.

DD2 - well, you know.

It IS tough going just now, but having had one already, we mums now have the knowledge that this is just a temporary situation w/the newborn and so it doesn't feel so overwhelming.

bonkerz · 16/12/2005 09:48

aw thanks bbe, compliments welcome, esp at this stage of pg!! hope you get/got some rest!

whos doing what re vit K? i cant make my mind up, and would like some other views

bigbaubleeyes · 16/12/2005 10:21

Oooh how exciting for NEMO very pleased indeed - right who's next????

No i havn't slept since 1am v strange feelings in bump. Anyway been out for a drive to work to drop summit off DH had to accompany me (20 mile round trip) but we went early to aviod rush hour - it felt v good to be out! So cos I was fine I dropped him off at work and went to ASDA to replace the marzipan and icing for xmas cake I have been snacking on (ran out of lemon curd )

Have had this mad burst of engery and have done xmas cards (I know this seems pathetic but its good form for me at mo and not in the same league as blinds!).

But I'm flagging now (usually asleep at this time of late so I'm off soon) Have fresh pinapple to consume first.

Congratulations Nemo, and welcome to the world Hannah

Jaysfirst · 16/12/2005 11:45

big congratulations to Nemo....whooo hooooo another little one safe and sound into the world!
Hope Nemos well, DQ pass on my best wishes to her please.

back from MW, all ok, baby is now turned and so in normal pposition rather than back to back...BP normal, everything on track, baby has dropped and now 3/5 engaged, which i cn rel to a degree as my SPD isnt QUITE so bad as the head is now stabilising the pelvis....lots of movements, babys heartbeat is slightly slower than normal but only minutely, so nothing to much to worry about.

Going to another mums group this afternoon, always good to go and coo over some new babies, going to buy a bottle of red wine also, MW recomends it to help me sleep! who am i to disagree!

Not sure about the VIT k, havent really thought much about it to be honest, will have a read up and let you know...

scully · 16/12/2005 11:55

Fantastic news Nemo, congrats Hannah is a lovely name, too.
Thx for the reassurance ladies, things always seem worse late at night, than during the day.....took ages to fall asleep last night but once I did at least I stayed asleep, so feel ok today. Told dh how I was feeling last night and he reminded me that our friend is a bit over the top most of the time so not to compare myself to her, and our 1st children are different ages, so that impacts as well. Just nervous now as I didn't expect to go to my due date, so have had more time to think about things and dh will return to work the day after the birth so I will just have to get on with it on my own......
2hrs out of the house this morning was my limit - have come back home now to potter around here. Wanted to get dd's photo taken with Santa today, but they only do it on Saturdays , so may venture there tomorrow if it's not too crowded.
Had the car detailed this morning so it's sparkling again - was disgusting inside and out and I got sick of asking dh to do it, so went and sat in Starbucks with a hot chocolate whilst someone else did it for me - much easier
DQ, we are happy with the vit k injection, dd had it last time and it was fine. What option have you done previously for the placenta? Didn't have to decide that last time.
Jay, good your baby is positioned properly now and there is less pressure. Mine is also 3/5ths engaged & I'm also noticing having to get up at around 4am for the loo, which I hadn't had to do too often before

MINNIE1 · 16/12/2005 13:00

Ooohh another baby arrived safe and sound..
Many congrads nemo and baby hannah.

Still nothin this end board silly here at home, i have shopped and i am sick of it now, but i did get my buggie and i love it.. Going to go in and do a food shop today (its my highlight!) DP is up the walls with work and stressed up to the eyes!! One of his main men left Monday morning and now he is covering him (He was taken the piss with hours ect!) Were expecting out first child and this is not how we wanted it to be like ! DP is worried i'll go into labour and all is getting a little to much!

O well it could be worse!!!

Hope all you ladies are ok and minding yourselves..

Talk to you all soon.

Love minnie

awayninahmanger · 16/12/2005 13:11

great news about nemo! i posted on the other thread but can't say often enough CONGRATULATIONS NEMO, after all you've been through here she IS, baby Hannah! xxx
dq wish I had known you were on the midnight oil last night cos I could have done with a chat ds was up and down with temp and p out on the p til the early hours. I got it into my head you'd be in the pool soon, somehow. I've emailed you x
Last day at work today, and I'm having funny aches in my tum, I don't know if it's chocolate pangs or something more sinister. Well off to the bar for someone's leaving do will be on here this pm on and off between trying to tidy my desk
Sh is at the races, no less! what a woman
Take care all

dramaqueen72 · 16/12/2005 13:53

pmsl at s/h at the races.....that lady is super mum! (or stark raving mad..)
hope your last is a breeze ninah, and hoe that pain in the tummy is just chocolate digesting and not labour just yet....or are you ready for it? last night i couldnt stop grinning, had done spicy food, pineapple, sex, and had partial show. thought this was BOUND to be it. ho ho ho...still here, no sign of anything today, aside from backache abit. have told baby i cant do ANY day aside from sat night. now have sinking feeling that this child will be just like my others and do the exact opposite of what I've asked..... ninah, always worth emailing me at stupid o'clock, I'm often up and usually online hope ds is better? bless him. and p tolerable??? thanks for email, is that a 'safe' email address or a 'p could be reading' one? dont want to put my foot in it!!!!!
mass baking session just done of mixed berry and oat muffins, and LOTS of chocolate tiffin. bugger the weight eh>??
minnie so sorry its all abit stressful for you and your dh. seems everyones having last few days somewhat like this. hang in there, dh WILL be able to be at the hospital 9even if he has to shut work to do so) and that baby will make everything rainbows I promise.
scully, well I dont know about thsi vit K now.......never really thought about it previous babies, and now whole stack of leaflets shoved at me. half of me thinks injection like my others, half of me thinks orally.
placenta -wise? i tend to always wait for cord to stop pulsating before its cut( really believe in this bit), and give it around 20 minutes or so for the placenta to come naturally, with an injection to hurry it if its long after that. what do you do? (appologies to anyone eating lunch during this conversation....)
anyone else had shows? my body must be super efficent at making mine, as have lost lots but not that last pinky bit thats meaningful! SIGH
expat, am doing all we can do produce more babies for this thread.........honest!!!!!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 16/12/2005 14:49

I've been off entertaining my bf and her 4 month old since yesterday so not been able to come on but, woohoo, what fantastic news from Nemo. After such a long journey I am just so happy for her.
Hope she is doing OK.

Midwife for me yesterday and measuring 41cm which I understand is 41 weeks!! She thinks it is fluid rather than a monster baby (oh, I hope so!) Do these measurements really mean anything?

It is all getting so exciting with these babies popping!

expatinscotland · 16/12/2005 15:45

Aw! BIG congrats to Nemo! WELL DONE! Can't wait to read her birth announcement.

Who's up next?! C'mon, babies - Xmas is coming.
