Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

Beyond I'm excited for you! Hope it goes well tomorrow. My scan is next Tuesday but it feels like it's months away.

I'm also obsessing as the symptoms are very very mild at the moment and my boobs seem to have shrunk since yesterday and don't hurt. I think women should see a MW at 8 weeks and listen for a heartbeat... I have felt very abandoned (OTT I know) and let down by the lack of care.

I know there is not much, if anything, that can be done at this point in preagnancy but all this anxiety can't be healthy.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 28/09/2011 20:49

9.45am Grin
Although I remember waiting hours past my actual appt time with DS...

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 28/09/2011 20:51

SurprisEs , my boobs are almost normal for the first time in nearly two years, which is a bit weird. DS has dropped down to one BF a day though, so I imagine its mainly that?
I agree about feeling abandoned. As I'm not having the Downs test, I wont see my midwife now until December!!

LaTristesse · 28/09/2011 21:05

Oh for normal boobs, mine are so sore they literally make me cry. Beyond does it not kill when your DS latches on still? I'm getting to the point where I'm seriously considering weaning him, although I always swore I'd leave it to him to choose when we stopped.

waves to the newcomers! Pleased to have you along with us!

SurprisEs · 28/09/2011 21:11

I stopped breastfeeding a long time ago. DD was about 13 months she is now 2.2 yrs.
Are you not having the test through choice or through lacknod resources in your local hospital?
December?!? And there's me complaining about waiting one week more!

AprilAl · 28/09/2011 21:22

Scan was brilliant!

The bean wasn't feeling very cooperative though, and although he was extremely active, kicking and squirming all over the place, he did it all with his back to us (I'm saying "he" as my mam suggested when I phoned her that if he's being difficult already it must be a boy Wink). Fortunately the ultrasound department was quiet this afternoon so the lovely sonographer gave me opportunities to walk around for ten minutes and try again in the hopes he'd get himself into a more photogenic (and measurable) position.

Third time lucky, we got some fantastic, really clear photos which she didn't even charge us for as we'd been messed about. We didn't feel messed about at all, I felt the service we'd received was fantastic! All in all it was a wonderful experience, can't thank her enough for perservering with my camera shy bean.

Dates are bang on what we originally thought, so I'm still due a lovely birthday present Grin

Fingers crossed for all those with scans coming up - hope your experience is as positive as ours was!

SurprisEs · 28/09/2011 21:26

Very glad your scan went well AprilAl, shame the baby was being so uncooperative to start with! I remember for my first scan with DD I had to jump up and down and had to lift my hips and shake them whilst laying down to make baby turn!

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 28/09/2011 21:56

LaTristesse - nope, no pain when he latches on anymore. Even normal enough for DH to benefit for the first time in a long time Wink Just another thing that makes me panic that my dates are wrong and I'm 6m gone...

SurprisEs - I'm choosing not to have it. Was unsure with DS and then the midwife messed my dates up and my appt was too late for the test to be done, so that made my decision for me. If it were a definite result, I might have it, but I dont want to panic about a maybe.

AprilAl - glad the scan went well for you!! :)

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 28/09/2011 21:57

PS, I've had my booking in btw at 8w, December is the next time I see my midwife

SurprisEs · 28/09/2011 22:10

Still a long time though... I think, can't remember exactly that i used to see the MW every 4 weeks, then every 2 and every week by the end of pregnancy with DD.

I see your point about the worrying about a maybe. Not sure why I'm doing the test myself, I think I'm doing it just because it's available, stupid reason, lol.

DH is practically not aloud near me at the moment. I feel worried it may be hurting our relationship and hope he still feels loved and cared for BUT I just can't even spare the thought of intimacy at the moment!

digitalgirl · 28/09/2011 23:14

unipsychle welcome, congrats on the good scan showing just the one and thank you for making me sound brave! I too look huge at 11 weeks. Which is rather awkward as I haven't told anyone at work other than my boss and just one colleague.

AprilAl what a lovely experience that was. I hope my sonographer is equally obliging...not holding out much hope as last time I was there for a 12 week scan with DS he wouldn't get into position for the nuchal measurement so she sent me home and said I'd have to rebook if I wanted the Nuchal Test. But apparently this time I get blood tests and I don't remember that happening last time.

vintage glad to hear your scan went well too.

sah not quite sure about your job predicament. I would have thought if they've offered you the job, they couldn't rescind the offer based on you telling them you're pregnant at the occupational health check. And if they were to rescind it based on 'references' they would have to prove the references weren't good enough and show you the copies. Just my thoughts, but maybe check on the employment/legal board.

beyond good luck tomorrow!

SurprisEs · 28/09/2011 23:20

sah I was advised at the job centre to tell possible employers that I'm pregnant at the end of the interview. I wasn't given a good reason for it though...

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 29/09/2011 13:48

I'm back and everything is hunky dory Grin
My ONE baby is further along than expected though, so have to change my due date to 5th April. He gave me a little wave on the screen!!
Just made the announcement on facebook

kat2504 · 29/09/2011 13:49

Fantastic!!! Very pleased for you and nice to get a few extra days!
I can't wait for my scan on monday, I am a nervous wreck in the meantime.

spannermary · 29/09/2011 13:55

That's great, Beyond!

2 1/2 hours to my scan!! Hoping I don't puke on the ultrasound lady (sonographer??) Also that I can keep a pint of liquid inside me ;)

Very excited. Little bit scared.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 29/09/2011 14:03

She said my bladder wasnt quite full enough, but she could still see.
I told her I'd thrown up both the pints of water I'd tried to drink Grin

Weyhey, not long for either of you now! :)

KittyAnne · 29/09/2011 15:08

Hey Aprils.
Good to hear all the scan stories. (Mine is in two weeks).
I hope everyone's first trimester has not been too awful. (I spent the last three months crying, puking and looking longingly at cigarettes. (Which is better than smoking two drags and then putting it out in a fit of guilt, which of course I would never ever do.)

spannermary · 29/09/2011 15:11

Shaking like a leaf...

digitalgirl · 29/09/2011 16:23

Great news beyond! What a relief to be able to 'come out'

Good luck spanner

VintageNancy · 29/09/2011 17:06

Lovely to hear all the scan news :) I've been carrying my picture around and showing people. Have had lots of lovely Facebook comments too - makes it real when you tell others the news.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 29/09/2011 17:08

Must be there now then Spanner ?
Good luck!!! :)

Digital - I know! I'm awful at keeping secrets! Was offered temp work yesterday and had to think up a lie on the spot. Am sure my old boss knew I was lying. Just had a congrats text from her Grin

Bearcrumble · 29/09/2011 17:50

Great news Beyond - phew!

Good luck Spannermary.

spannermary · 29/09/2011 19:58

So I'm back - and it was great! Our baby wiggled around and was cute as a button. Also got to talk to midwife about my sickness - and we got given a bounty pack, and pregnancy book.

My EDD is now 8/4/12 (Easter Sunday). Any way to change that - I'm on my mobile!

Thanks for all your loveliness. Feel much better now...

Uglymush · 29/09/2011 20:26

Fab news Spanner it makes it all so real doesn't it?

spannermary · 29/09/2011 21:07

It really does, Mush. :)
