Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

SurprisEs · 21/09/2011 15:31

Severely, not secret! Sorry.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 21/09/2011 15:34

DH would point out that I'm no more severely lazy than normal. I was a sloth in a past life. Grin

SurprisEs · 21/09/2011 15:37

Sloth, that should be my new nickname. Doesn't help that sickness has been kicking in at around dinner cooking time. DH might begin to think I simply don't want to do it...

Mackrelmint · 21/09/2011 16:42

splurs - what a horrible and unprofessional boss! I can't imagine a boss saying that. but on the plus side what a lovely DH to just laugh at your soup-induced bawling! I'm not sure my DP would have been so understanding - he is getting quite fed up with my snappiness and general grumps...

As for crying - yesterday I cried when a lady said thank you to me for holding open a door, then on the tube when I didn't get a seat (can't wait for the bump and the free seats!) and then randomly when I picked DD up from nursery...

Fingers crossed for cheerful, emotionally-stable and nausea-free second trimesters for us all!

splurs · 21/09/2011 17:03

SurprisEs I love the idea of being secretly tired. I want to try that one! I'm very vocal and open about complete exhaustion. Was on holiday with friends this week and got up at 7.30am on Sunday and was back in bed by 9.30am!

Mackrelmint Boss genuinely doesn't seem to realise his muppet tendancies. Have had something akin to a brain transplant where work is concerned since May and have gone from being over-conscientious and working 7 day weeks to counting the days down humming away to myself. Quite literally. I worked out today I've got 108 days left in the office! Have made myself a little calendar (with all weekends, bank holidays and holidays blanked out already) so I can strike out each day. What an utterly unproductive and unprofessional way to spend my afternoon. I'm so ashamed Blush and yet so pleased with myself!! Grin

Bunsouttheoven · 21/09/2011 19:03

I fought back the tears yesterday watching the great British bake off FFSBlush

Twittle · 21/09/2011 22:17

I think crying while watching The Great British Bake Off wins!! I have also been crying a lot in fact my 14month DS looks at me like I've lost it half of the time and as if to remind me that he's the baby not me!

Splurs I think you're boss sounds like a right moron and I am all for countdown charts are you going to strike the days off at the beginning of the working day or at the end.... it will go quicker if you do it first thing in the morning!

On the tiredness front I am finding keeping my eyes open after lunchtime slightly problematic at the moment and so have taken to eating a large amount of sugar filled flapjack after lunch in the hope it gives me an energy boost..... it's not working so far and neither is the zip on my favourite skirt... Blush!

Had my booking in appointment this week, still not sure how real it feels, except for - the constipation, sore boobs, raging mood swings, exhaustion, headaches, nausea - mmm, guess I really am pregnant!!! EVERYTHING is making me cry at the minute too Buns and Twittle! The afternoon tiredness I have found is only beaten by a nap but thats not always possible I know.
Told my manager yesterday too and she said I should have told her earlier but it's so hard not to get paranoid about jinxing things - I have taken another hpt just to reassure myself!!! Dating scan is 5th October so maybe then it will sink in!!!

georgee · 22/09/2011 06:56

Hi all

Just a quick one to say 'I'm out', in the manner of Dragon's Den - early scan last night revealed that the baby hadn't developed beyond 6 weeks (should be 9 + 2). Exactly the same as in May. Now I have to wait for my stupid body to realise it's not pregnant (it happened the equivalent of next week, last time) and do its thing. I really thought it was going to be OK this time so I'm having a bit of trouble getting my head around it, but the good news is that we're going on holidays on Friday (luckily only Dorset, not the ends of the earth) and will be with family and on the beach - best place for me. Hopefully when we return it will be a new start.

Best of luck to all of you - I'll think of you in April.

Georgee xx

Sugar26 · 22/09/2011 07:35

So sorry georgee .

X

Bearcrumble · 22/09/2011 09:02

georgee I'm really sorry. I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as you can under the circumstances. Thanks for the info about the steak as well. Sending my love. x

Mackerelmint Sorry to hear you're in a similar boat to me - it is horrid doing a job you hate. It is important to do stuff just for you and not selfish because you come back to motherhood afterwards with renewed patience and energy. I went out for a meal Tuesday night with 4 other local mums and we had a right laugh and I just felt so much bouncier and happy the next day.

Splurs - I love the idea of your calendar. Like a prisoner waiting to get out!

Talking of crying at stupid things - I had a craving for primula cheese on cream crackers and on the back of the tube it said "suitable for mums-to-be" and I cried because I thought it was so nice and considerate of them to put that there. FFS!!

Had my booking appointment yesterday, all went fine and I'll be seeing my consultant at the blood pressure clinic a couple of days after my 12 week scan (which I am dreading, feeling quite doomy about it).

splurs · 22/09/2011 09:14

Georgee So sorry to hear that. Thinking of you.

kat2504 · 22/09/2011 10:13

Very sorry georgee it is particularly rough when it happens for the second time isn't it :(

Hope you are being well looked after by your family.

AprilAl · 22/09/2011 10:35

So sorry to hear that georgee. Glad to hear you'll have family around to look after you though. Take care

Thaleia · 22/09/2011 12:12

georgee very very sorry!

I need some hope at the other end of the April spec.

digitalgirl · 22/09/2011 12:54

Very sorry to hear your news georgee Sad
It's horribly unfair that it should happen again.
Look after yourself.

georgee · 22/09/2011 13:42

Hi all

Thanks for your good wishes - it does seem bad luck but I know many others have a much worse time of it. And it really encourages me to hear about those who have had the same experience and then have gone on to have pregnancies that go beyond 6 weeks! MIL has DD today so I've made the most of it with a haircut and some holiday book buying, and life is looking brighter already.

Take care all, and the best of luck Smile

LaTristesse · 22/09/2011 14:49

Ah Georgee I am sorry, that sucks... glad you have good people with you, and hope to see you pop up on a new thread soon...

Thaleia, you are joking?! I've been feeling worse these last few days! The nausea is just as all-encompassing and my boobs are excruciatingly sore (although that is DS's fault chowing on them as he does...)

On the upside I had 12 wk scan yesterday and everything appeared as it should do, so I've now outed myself, and can now get away with maternity tops to hide my already house-sized tum!

Uglymush · 22/09/2011 15:00

Georgee I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope you get to relax a little.

Thaleia sorry I can't give any reassurance on the symptoms getting better. I now have a nasty taste in my mouth and any food that is good for me tastes foul, thankfully though chocolate cake still tastes how it should :)

As for me I am 12+1 and started bleeding again last night (was bleeding at 10+6) my midwife says that I am probably just going to be one of those people that don't get nine months free from bleeding (sorry TMI). Anyone on a postive note the Jury I was serving on is now a Jury of 11 and my GP is great I only had to call him and he has signed me off for 2 weeks :) Just have to work out how to tell the boss that he is going to be free of me for another week - I'm sure the office will be very pleased!!

Mackrelmint · 22/09/2011 16:56

Oh georgee, I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope the holiday gives you some time and space to do some healing - I know getting away after sad/bad events has done me a power of good in the past. Thinking of you x

Nordicmom · 22/09/2011 17:31

georgee I'm sorry about your news! Believe me I know how horrible it is to go through that time after time since it's happened to me 10 times in a row in about 2 1/2 years. Nothing that someone else says really helps but it's nice to know that they care. I'm sure it'll all work out in the end if you don't give up . Hugs .
As far as we are concerned,we had our 8 week scan and everything is still ok but I was really angry and tearful yesterday trying to find out the results all day and even after nevertheless probably because I'm just waiting for the bad news to come any minute and won't believe it could finally work out for us after 4 years... I wish I could just fall asleep and wake up in 4 weeks and wouldn't have to agonise until then! I'm trying to distract myself with meeting friends and things to do with my son's school stuff and in general by making a lot of plans so it would seem like time goes faster. We are looking at dates to go to America for the scan which does fall on the half term break luckily. Our surrogate has an appointment with her own doctor on the 3.10. so then we'll be at 10 weeks and we'll try arrange a scan as well since we can't really plan a trip to Texas without knowing what's going on in there... I really hope this is it for us since I'm not sure how much more I can take !

Nordicmom · 22/09/2011 17:36

oh yes , forgot ...finally remembered to ask the clinic what our confirmed due date is and it is actually one day later than I calculated so can someone please change it on the list for 30.4. ?! I'm just managing to stick to this April group then , I thought I might end up May ! Our surrogate should be having a c-section though since she did with her last one so we'll probably end up being mid april or so...

LaTristesse · 22/09/2011 20:41

All changed on the stats thread Nordic, glad everything is all still on track, and really hope you get to relax soon!

JellytotZ · 23/09/2011 08:31

morning all - just a quick message as im at work but im a bit worried as i had some bleeding this morning after having a bit of 'naughties' with DP Blush
it was not a lot of blood and seems to have stopped now, has anyone else had this? should i be worried/contact MW? .....

AprilAl · 23/09/2011 08:45

Hi JellytotZ

I wouldn't be worried if it's stopped now, only if it kept going/got heavier.

Apparently a bit of spotting afterwards is perfectly normal and something to do with a softening of the cervix. If it was a lot of blood or keeps happening then I'd mention it to the MW, but otherwise try not to worry
