Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

Thaleia I know what you mean about happy another day has gone! Am in two minds though, feel like I'm wishing away DSs babyhood, where I'm looking forward to the end of pregnancy (me and pregnancy do not get on)...

Bearcrumble · 26/09/2011 12:22

Spannermary I hope everything is ok - good luck and let us know how you get on at the EPU. x

kat2504 · 26/09/2011 12:23

Good luck spannermary I hope you will be back with a good update this afternoon.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 26/09/2011 16:06

newmummyvicky · 26/09/2011 16:45

hi all,
I had a bit of a scare last night and this morning, quite bad stomuch pains my husband wanted to take me to hospital. But after speaking too the midwife on the phone she didnt think it was too much of a worry, because ive had no blood sign or any other symtoms.
They seem to pass later on in the day and i called in sick, and have just rested! i did have a but of runny poo, so the midwife seemed to thinks it was just a upset tummy. Real strange normally my poos are pretty hard a sometimes i go over 2 days! (sorry for the gross talk)
Im 14 weeks now, over two weeks since my scan, i have borrow my friends fetal heart beat monitor and manage to hear its little fast beat.
But my midwife said to come in for a check up and another scan 2morrow!

I have my 15 week midwife appointment so i guess i can speak to her about it! and also get my blood type and HIV results. Im sure will be all fine lol

Its so hard to know was it normal, being my first pregnany. But on a plus side i had no sickness, and boobs are not painfull- i have gone up a size, and clothes are pretty tight now, i feel a maternity shopping trip coming on!

xx

Uglymush · 26/09/2011 17:46

Hi newmummyvicky I am sure your midwife is right. I had bleeding 3 weeks ago and was sent for an emergency scan, all was ok though. I had bleeding again last week but the midwife said not to worry. So I am trying not too. Hard though, as like you, this is my first and I tend to panic over the smallest of things. My GP has been great and signed me off for 2 weeks so I can panic rest in peace.

It is also good to hear that it is ok that my boobs have stopped hurting, they were always my assurance in a morning that everything was still ok, so again a little panic when they didn't hurt!

Beginning to think I should just change my name to panicmush!

Anyway good look with the scan tomorrow, I am certain all will be fine
xx

Sugar26 · 26/09/2011 18:50

Good luck spanner, hope everything is OK.

I had my 12 week scan this morning and could see the little one nice and clearly :) scan was done by a lovely man who, when I told him I was nervous/terrified, pointed everything out to me, extended the scan time and gave me extra pictures.

Consultant said that nuchal scan results looked very good, have had blood test so have to await results next week.

Finally feel so much more relaxed...the last few days were hellish...I had read far too much on what could go wrong. Definitely won't be doing that again!

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 26/09/2011 19:02

Two proper whole days to go til my scan, counting down, cant wait to get it over with...
I have a very miserable DS this evening who missed his afternoon nap. Now I'm panicking about what I'll be letting myself in for with two :(
Not sure who is more miserable, me or him. DH will be home in about 20mins, then he'll try to out misery both of us...

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 26/09/2011 19:20

I just got congratulated on my pregnancy by a school friend on facebook! I have enquired as to how she knows Grin

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 26/09/2011 19:26

My nan told her. She did also tell her its not public knowledge yet though

spannermary · 26/09/2011 20:49

Wow, Beyond - I'm not all too sure how I'd deal with my Grandma telling people (even if she mentions it's hush hush!)

Back now from the EPAU, having been there for many many hours...I managed to persuade the Doctor that I didn't need to stay overnight on a drip to be rehydrated.

Instead, I have been packed off home on orders of rest and hydration for a week. Apparently I have a UTI and am also dehydrated from all the lovely throwing up I've been doing.

There are worse things to do than chill for a week: especially as I am expecting my House Season 7 Blu-ray any day now! (Although thinking about it...more hospitals?!!)

Hubby has been AMAZING and is now facing the prospect of staying up all night to complete a deadline. :(

Not sure he gets the whole "rest" thing, though - having already suggested a weekend trip to York, and getting an architect in this week to discuss room alterations! Ah well...he more than makes up for it in his ability to make hot chocolate.

Thanks for all your good wishes and thoughts: I'm feeling so much less anxious/guilty - and it's helped put all the other feelings into perspective.

Ah...now some guilt-free telly and an early night!

Uglymush · 26/09/2011 21:05

That's fab news spanner

DH/P's don't tend to get the same meanings as us for somethings. Mine hears the words 'off work..' and then gives a list of to do's!! Not moaning about him really!! Honest!

LaTristesse · 26/09/2011 21:23

Mine hears the words 'carrying a baby' and then expects business as usual, by which I mean my exclusive responsibility for the cooking, cleaning, shopping, childcare, gardening blah, while he puts his feet up in front of the xbox. We have 'had words' this weekend...

Good news spanner, take it easy!

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 26/09/2011 21:58

Yay spanner thats great! :)

Aww, I cant be mad at her, her mind is going now... :(

SurprisEs · 26/09/2011 22:15

Glad everything is ok with baby spanner.

Feeling miserable about not having a job. Apart from cleaning and reading stories to DD I don't really know what to fo with myself...

DH leaves home at 3:30am and gets home exhausted between 5:30 and 7pm 6 days a week. I feel like I don't see him and I feel lonely. Mother and toddler groups really don't appeal to me but I might have to give it a shot.

cheaperthantherapy · 26/09/2011 22:57

Hi all

I've been mia last week or so - poor dd had been awfully sick, so I've been pulling all nighters with her and am shattered! She's still unwell and poor thing is asleep in my bed now :(

Hope everyone is enjoying their scans - can't wait to see ours later this week. Although just found out close friend is having twins.. Am taking great pleasure in freaking out dh and telling him we could be having twins...

SurprisEs · 26/09/2011 23:08

Hope your DD is well soon.

The idea of twins hasn't cross my mind until now. There are no cases in either families so I'm pretty sure it won't happen. It would be my worst nightmare at the moment!!

Mackrelmint · 27/09/2011 10:16

V glad everything is okay spanner and hope DD is better soon cheaper - and that you get some rest!

I am a tiny bit worried about twins too as I conceived whilst still breastfeeding, which apparently puts your chances up.

Although more worried about this not happening. I have been symptomless for a while - very mild nausea when I wake up but that's it. I keep thinking, what if I get to the scan and there's nothing there? I did have a positive test and I haven't had a period since 7 July so I guess that means something!

I remember panicking last time as well actually that I'd turn up and not actually be pregnant - despite having lots of nausea and ginormous sore boobs - I guess it's quite normal.

SurprisEs - that sounds hard having all that time with your DH away. If I were you I would at least give a group a shot - I find just some interaction with other adults in the day really helps kepe me sane - and if you don't like it you can always just leave. I think you often have to try a few different ones to find somewhere you 'fit in'.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 27/09/2011 11:48

Conceiving while BF puts your chances up!? I have twins in the family too!! EEK!!

This next two days cant go fast enough!

I think once the sickness passes, I'm going to start taking DS to m&t too. I keep putting it off though Grin

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 27/09/2011 11:52

Scratch two days, its actually 45 hours....

Grin
BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 27/09/2011 11:54

Oh no, I saw twin girls in a twin pram (not a crappy pushchair thing, a PRAM) the other day and thought it was adorable!

Its a sign!!

I cant afford twins!!!!

I'll have to give one up for adoption and they can meet up when theyre older, like the parent trap or something...!!

VintageNancy · 27/09/2011 13:19

Lol beyond :) I too have been picturing twins but I really hope it's not as we're relocating to US this year and one baby is more than enough for me to get my head around!

Glad scan went well spanner

Got our 12-week scan tomorrow morning - so so nervous. DH keeps joking that my bloat/fat/bump is just a massive poo. Nice!!

I'm still off work with my bad back. Seeing doctor this pm to see if I can/should go back to work. Physio said I should rest a bit longer.

digitalgirl · 27/09/2011 13:59

Hello all - haven't been on for a while so this has fallen off my threads I'm on list. Glad to hear 12 week scans are all going well. I had a scan yesterday at 11 weeks and all's well - which was good as I had a tiny bit of spotting on Sunday night so was very worried. My dating/nuchal scan isn't for two weeks when I'll be 13 weeks. Hope to be able to start telling people after that.

So far my mum, sis, boss and only five or six close friends know. To be honest, getting this far has been such a rollercoaster I don't think I'll be announcing it via FB or a big email, it'll probably be just as I see people. Annoyingly there's a big family do the weekend before my nuchal scan, and I am looking rather pg (am in maternity jeans already), so will have to find something loose and floaty for that I think.

kat2504 · 27/09/2011 14:06

I don't think it will be going on my facebook either digi
Well, at some point I will look pregnant and if someone tags me in a photo with a bump I guess it will become obvious. But no big announcement.
Maternity jeans already? I am jealous. I can't feel anything different if I poke around my belly.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 27/09/2011 14:11

I'll put it on FB am too lazy to tell people and will surely miss someone and they'll get all offended, lol
Wont put my scan pic as my profile pic though. I'll be honest, it bugs me Grin
