Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

I had a thing through from Bounty yesterday (signed up for their weekly emails), saying that my baby is now 11 weeks and I may have found my waistline has 'thickened'! Erm... not sure that's what I'd call it but yes, I'm fatter! It also says some might not show for another month yet. This is my 2nd btw so yeah I'd say you're pretty normal! I'd like mine to firm up soon into a nice little pg bump, rather than the flabby bloat it currently is!

thepuddingchef · 08/09/2011 09:54

birdsofshoreandsea This is my third too, and if i'm honest and don't hold it in I look the same as I did when I was 4 months with my second! It feels very jelly like as well........so a combo of eating too much and no stomach muscles I think. plus I think muscles have a memory.......
Am feeling so tired at the minute, been going to bed at 9pm! still waking up feeling tired. Been sick a bit too which is rubbish.
Haven't heard from midwife yet.........i'll give her to the beginning of next week, then i'll chase it. So want a scan date......need to know that everything is ok and there is just one in there :)

FannyAnnPam · 08/09/2011 10:18

My hormones must be going wild, I am on the verge of tears listening to a survivors story from 9/11 on Womens Hour. I feel a bit of a sap!!!

VintageNancy · 08/09/2011 10:30

I'm 9 weeks and have definitely got "thicker" round the waist! Or fatter, whichever way you want to look at it. Can't do up any of my work trousers or jeans. I'm surprised no one has commented yet; I'm wearing loose tops and dresses to hide it (and to hide the fact that I'm using a hairband round my trouser buttons to keep them up).
This is my first. To be honest I have been eating a lot as it stops me feeling ill so that probably explains some of it.

kat2504 · 08/09/2011 11:51

I'm 9 weeks too and I have just got fatter probably due to laziness and inactivity. I thought giving up the booze would lose me a few pounds but I think the jaffa cakes have compensated for that.
I had a lovely lovely early scan this morning. The little jelly baby even moved around and has little arms and stuff. Am so relieved.

georgee · 08/09/2011 12:22

Ooh so pleased kat2504, congratulations indeed. I'm considering an early scan this time (which we'd probably do privately) because I had a mmc at 10.5 weeks last pregnancy, and we'll be on hols at that stage this time ... so just considering it. Sounds well worth it!

kat2504 · 08/09/2011 12:29

I got a referral from the midwife to have mine done due to previous miscarriages. I said my mental health couldn't cope with waiting any longer for reassurance! I don't know if there are rules about how many mcs you have to have had though.
definitely worth considering the private scan if it means you can go away and enjoy a lovely holiday in peace. It will be £50-100 well spent! All midwives and sonographers I have seen say wait until at least 8 and a half weeks for it to actually be reassuring.

georgee · 08/09/2011 12:32

Ah, that's really useful, thanks. Was thinking of getting it done at 8 + 2 but might see if there's a later slot.

Thaleia · 08/09/2011 12:52

Lunchtime ....!
I'm crazy. I felt so sick & tired & frustrated & sorry for myself yesterday due to the lack of sleep and ongoing upset stomach. And today: nothing. Now I'm worried that something is wrong, because I feel normal & well.
Juuuuust great Hmm.

VintageNancy · 08/09/2011 14:02

kat2504 great news, it must have been lovely :)

Well you know how I said no one had commented... I had lunch with my old boss today and she asked me if I was pregnant! I am actually incapable of telling fibs so I said yes. It was actually really lovely to have a good old chat about it all :)

Thaleia · 08/09/2011 16:24

Yesterday, I had a really rough day and I was telling that I thought I'd get the flu. Almost everybody said: are you sure you're not pregnant? Noooooo. I don't think I've been asked that before, usually the opposite: are you PMS? I wonder if people have a radar for it.

AprilAl · 08/09/2011 17:15

Got my scan date - 28th Sep

Wheee! Grin

AprilAl · 08/09/2011 17:23

Oh and absolutely delighted to hear about the eggs! Thanks kat2504, I've been insanely jealous of hubby's runny yolks of late.

Right, I'm off to celebrate my scan date with a soft boiled

Thumbelina79 · 08/09/2011 20:13

Tesco - buy one get one free on diet 7up. Its good for the nausea. Also lemon sweets seem to work. Tonight I've discovered so are celebrations, DH has nausea too the amount he's put away!

Girls night tomorrow with a trainee midwife - wonder if they'll twig...

7weeks now

Saj30 · 08/09/2011 20:13

ok ladies I've noticed that I have started spotting again, the first time bein continuosly fromabout 6 weeks to 9, stopped for the 10th week and now its started again.... whts going on??? Confused

LaTristesse · 08/09/2011 20:36

Yay, scan date: next Wednesday! Will only be 11+2, seems a wee bit early for Nuchal testing... Will they be able to do it ok or should I request a later date?

Mackrelmint · 08/09/2011 21:40

Glad scan went well kat. everyone getting scan dates reminds me I ought to try and get mine organised.

Saj - sorry I don't know anything about spotting. Does your hospital have a midwife helpline you can call? Hope everything is ok.

I also have a v flabby mound of a belly at 8 weeks (2nd baby). Noone has guessed yet tho - possibly because I very definitely don't have pregnancy boobs yet (13mo of breastfeeding has obviously knackered them out!)

kat2504 · 09/09/2011 07:02

saj If you are worried phone the EPAU in your hospital they may be able to get you in to check everything is ok. Hope it's stopped now!

LaTristesse · 09/09/2011 07:47

mackrel are you still bf? My DS is getting very annoyed as it looks like my milk is drying up. He's definitely not ready to stop, but I have to say it's been so sore these last few weeks, I'm more than ready... Not sure what to do about it though, he relies on it for comfort so much...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 09/09/2011 08:12

LaTristesse My DS has dropped down to only one feed a day, but mine must have changed taste as my boobs were solid for the first few days...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 09/09/2011 08:14

But no change to the size here at all (luckily!)

LaTristesse · 09/09/2011 08:17

Yes I think the taste changed, we got a lot of face pulling at the start!
He's now on 2 feeds a day, just morning and bedtime, but I feel empty and drained dry after a couple of minutes... I think I'm going to have to brave the tantrums if I'm going to stop altogether. Bit gutted as I really wanted to tandem feed them both...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 09/09/2011 08:32

I'm hoping to tandem feed, assuming he doesnt stop completely on his own, I'm just going to carry on with the 1-2 feeds a day for as long as possible and if this is anything like my last pregnancy my colostrum will be leaking from about 6m anyway! Luckily the nipple soreness has passed so I'm not wincing with every feed now

Thaleia · 09/09/2011 11:17

Just checked the diary ... there are a lot of drinking events coming up: Leaving Drink, Work "End of Summer Drinks", Birthday. I have now idea what to say, especially at work where they look at you with hawk eyes if you don't have a glass. Should I say I'm on antibiotics the whole time? I can't opt out of these events. It's either close friends or compulsory.

Skipped dinner yesterday and went to bed at 7.30pm & feel shit again today. What week do you normally start throwing up? Dreading it every day now.

I've booked an appointment with the GP for Monday to share the news = 7 weeks today.

I don't fell happy at all, being pregnant wasn't at all as I've expected it to be. And I didn't even think (a lot) about it.
